The Other P-Word

Rate this book
Suffering from a dark past, he lives his life with passion but no purpose. She planned everything…except him.

Billie Price has always had a plan for her life. On the surface, it all appears on track. But there has always been something missing. Even though she has a purpose, there is no passion to fuel it. Then she meets a mysterious stranger with a dark past. Except Evan Wright is all kinds of wrong—the tattoo-clad, guitar-strumming, Harley-riding modern day drifter is definitely not the right man for her. Yet she finds herself drawn to him and The Lost Souls’ Club—the eclectic bar where he works. As all her carefully strung plans unravel, Evan is there to comfort her. As their attraction grows, Billie can’t resist the temptation, even though Evan will leave in the fall. At least they have all summer together, not to mention the man knows how to narrate the perfect sex scene for the book she’s writing. But as she crashes into Evan’s world, Billie has to ask herself—can passion prevail when there is no purpose?

Reader Advisory: This book contains scenes of anal sex. Warning—this book contains one raunchy tattoo-clad musician who can rock his tongue as well as a guitar!

Publisher Note: This book is part of a series but can be read as a standalone novel, as can any of the books in the In Other Words Series.

Not knowing a word of English, MK Schiller came to America at the age of four from India. Since then, all she’s done is collect words. After receiving the best gift ever from her parents—her very own library card—she began reading everything she could get her greedy hands on. At sixteen, a friend asked her to make up a story featuring the popular bad boy at school. This wasn’t fan fiction…it was friend fiction. From that day on, she’s known she wanted to be a writer. With the goal of making her readers both laugh and cry, MK Schiller has penned more than a dozen books, each one filled with misfit characters overcoming obstacles and finding true love.

5 “distract-a-licious’ Stars

“Will you come?”
“I’ll follow you wherever you need to go.”
“Even in the dark?”
“Especially there.”
,/i>

Catching up with these characters again was like being wrapped in a nice warm blanket. They’re familiar, warm and feel so much a part of me after I’ve followed them through their hurt, pain, hopes, dreams and loves. There’s so much to love about this series. The storytelling is beautifully delivered, the warmth of the characters envelopes me, the banter and hilarious innuendos have me in fits of giggles and the love, honesty, fun and closeness between this extended family never fails to captivate me. Love surrounds and abounds and each one has stolen a piece of my heart – from the cringing moments of honesty to the heartfelt moments of love, I’m right there with them. Yep, I LOVED The Other P Word!!!

“You make me forget the world.”
“And you make me happy I’m in it.”

I was looking forward to Billie’s story as she’s always been a presence in the previous In Other Words books. I have to say, the person I’d previously pegged as her love interest wasn’t who I expected and to be honest, I couldn’t be happier because Evan Wright was so right for Billie! OMG! I flippin’ well ADORED Evan even if there were a couple of times I felt the urge to slap him upside the head, but in the long run I understood his fear of commitment and the wanderlust that consumed him. This soulful free spirited musician with the heartbreaking, painfully tragic past owned me heart and soul. Actually, I think he had me when he sang About a Girl…sigh….Did I mention how this author beautifully weaves the theme of music through her stories to the point where the music almost becomes another character? Yet another reason why I cherish these books.

“Why don’t you school me, Price? What is love?”
“It’s sacrificing for someone else, but they won’t let you because they feel the same way.”

Billie Price is such a happy go lucky girl. You can’t help but warm to her. She really is like sunshine on a cloudy day (yeah I stole a line) she believes in the romance of love and is in the process of penning a romance novel but without experiencing the burning passion required for some of the scenes, her book isn’t coming to fruition as it lacks the searing heat and emotion required for some scenes.

Billie believes in soul piercing love and isn’t into one casual relationships, however a meeting with Evan changes that when they embark on friends with very hot benefits arrangement. Their relationship has an expiration date though with Evan planning to leave after summer to go on tour with a band. Boo Evan!

“Don’t let your head get in the way of what we have, Price. Because in my head, it’s only you that’s taking up all the space.”

How can Billie resist this irresistible man? I know I couldn’t! He was DIVINE! Evan is the perfect solution to Billie’s lack of passion and so she agrees…but can her heart stay out of the equation? Can she convince Evan to change his plans? There were certainly some curveballs thrown in …… curse you MK for throwing in ‘that‘ twist! My poor heart!! yet, on the other hand I felt as though my face was aching from the constant grin I wore reading this, there were so fabulous moment and oh gosh, those cute moments between Billie and Evan…be still my heart!

“Billie Marie Price. I aim to cuddle the fuck out of you.”

The heat was off the charts combustible but MK Schiller never allows those moments to overtake the essence of her story which is something I love. There is a story, there is heart and each character adds so much depth to each scene.

‘One thing was for sure…Evan Wright spoke fluent cunnilingus.’

There are some heavy issues dealt with in The Other P Word, however it’s perfectly balanced thanks to MK’s unique brand of emotion, sadness, humour, passion and heat. Somehow MK Schiller always manages to get the balance just right!I can be welling up one minute, giddily swooning the next, then giggling like crazy the next with the flick of a page and I love it! These stories always feel fresh, ensuring I’ll be back again and again to catch up with these gorgeous, off the wall and completely loveable characters! Yep, this was a real winner!

Friends,

Do.Not.Do.It.

I'm not sure how this has a 4+ star rating. Srsly. :|

We've got the classic instalove, moto man-ho, and a virginal Mary Sue trope with buckets of heroine tears and then an OTT conflict. Clearly, I am the minority but I'll admit I probably should have stopped before I even started. Be warned: this book opens with FOUR full pages of "Trademarks Acknowledgement." I should have known something peppered with so many songs, movies, tv shows, name brands, etc. would be a issue for me but I had hoped this book had some of the fun sparks from book 1, The Other C-Word. Conclusion - it did not.

1.5 stars.

Oh, and I think I even missed with the "P" stands for in "P-Word".

4.5 STARS, Crazy, funny, sweet and sad stars. And happy stars
Billie has one of those no good, very bad days. Job problem, hair problem, and boyfriend problem. I don't know why, but the hair problem angered me the most!
Billie's mom, sisters, and their husbands and kids are back. Their family nights are like a TV sit-com gone wild. So many crack up moments, I almost over-loaded. I could not put this book down.

There's some down time. I loved the original way/location that Billie and Evan meet. This is Billie's first person POV. I thought that for one POV, this book had the most insight into the H, Evan, that I've ever read. Evan's musician at a really cool bar. I can't give away too much. Billie and Evan have a great chemistry. Billie is very plain talking and vivacious. Evan tells her that he doesn't stay in one place very long. She tries to go along with being temporary. The first section is a lot with Billie's crazy family. A lot of the rest of the book is Billie and Evan. Evan's tragedy that takes place years before-is discussed. This really explains a lot of why Evan can't/won't commit. There's more to his family that comes out in the 2nd half of the book. I loved this part-even though it's angsty and long standing resentment.

Billie has been trying to write her first romance novel when she meets Evan.
Publishers have rejected it, telling her that it has no passion. She gains some experience in the passion area!
The plot and writing flowed really well for me. There were a few typos that I noticed. No big deal.
The last 25% was a big dramatic twist. No rush in resolving it. This is a BIG thing to deal with. This was Billie's POV, but Evan, really ending up shinning for me. I did love Billie too. She does look for ways out of the bad situations.

Great epilogue. I want to read the next book. Will it be Derek this time? Yes please.

Slick's review posted at Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

Reviewer's note: This is the third book in the series but I easily read this one without reading the first two (which I plan to go back and to now because this one was so freakin' awesome)!

A book that uses music as a backdrop seriously how could I not love it? I've always felt music is the great equalizer that even when things are at their worst; music can make you feel better, it can soothe your soul, it can lighten your load, and it can bring people together and in this book it did all of that and more. A chance meeting between two people who seemingly have little in common brings together a woman whose life is in shambles and a man whose life hasn't been the same in 10 years and despite their agreement of a short term affair with no broken hearts life keeps dealing them one complication after another. I'll admit I cried buckets during parts of this book but at other times I laughed with joy and cheered the happiness...The Other P Word is a well balanced book; complicated, heart-warming, fun, sexy, and through it all two people find in each other the thing one thought he didn't deserve and the thing she thought he needed most: love and family.

Billie Price meets a man that totally trips her trigger at the wrong time and even though she assumes he's a bad boy there is something about him that she can't forget. When Billie's life takes a beating all in one day she does something very out of character and seeks out Evan Wright but they both know getting involved isn't smart so they bide their time until they can no longer stand it and together they are explosive.

There was something so special about the way these two meet, the way they explore a friendship and share so much of their lives with each other and the way they finally fall into a sexual relationship with no plans of it going further. I fell in love with each of them for different reasons; Billie for never giving up on her dream no matter how many rejections she gets, for making her own way even when she could have asked for help and for the way she pulls Evan out of the funk he's been in for the past 10 years. I love how Evan shows Billie how to have fun, how he appreciates every little thing about her, how he charms her family without even trying and most of all for loving Billie enough to try and prevent her from being hurt further.

This book is an emotional roller coaster from start to finish and yes, I cried a lot during it but there were also many beautiful moments, quite a few funny ones and some where I wanted to stand up and cheer. This was not a pretty romance tied up in a neat little package, this one was messy times ten but I loved every single moment of it. I have never read M.K. Schiller before this book but she has wowed me with this messed up but beautiful love story and I'll be checking out her backlist soon.

Excuse me while I gather up all of my crumpled tear soaked tissues. This one hit me right in the feels, once it got into the heart of the story I couldn't put it down, and this book delivered in the epilogue. Well done Ms. Schiller, well done!

4.5 stars. Loved it! After reading so many blah 3 star reads lately I was giddy to have latched onto such a gem. I love this series and the characters, especially the guys (I adore Rick, Adam and Dillon especially) and Evan is one fabulous addition. Chalking him up as another to adore. Lots of laughs, “dish” and family banter as usual with this fun crowd.

Evan is smooth and sexy, a guy that takes his time ;-) but he has his drama too. Evan and adorable Billie’s heartwarming story had me hooked from the get go. This story has its ups and downs, steamy, sexy heat along with some tense, sad times only to wrap up with a wonderful heartwarming HEA. Soooo very worth the reading journey. Makes me want to shout READ THIS!!!!

Tilla and Mike were great new characters and hope we get more of them in future books. Could Damien’s brother Derek be the next story? Oh, PLEASE, dear author, I want more “Other Words”!

If something is very hard for me it's the cancer subject.
After 66% of the book I felt like I'd been swept into another story. I cried my eyes out. I felt my heart breaking into a million pieces. Didn't expect this author genius maneuver...
It was a nice story, not as good as the first one.
The hero was a nomad, caring only for himself for a very long ten years. Unfortunately, because the author is so good, I could feel the aloofness in him and it spoil the love story for me a bit.
Until BOOM!
and I was a goner in my own pool of tears.

I finished reading The Other P-Word a few hours ago but I needed some time to recover from the last 30%. Wait, let me backtrack a bit. I really need to start from the beginning.

I originally started In Other Words series in book 2, and of course I absolutely LOVE it. So of course this meant I had uber high expectations coming into book #3. I really enjoyed Billie and Evan's story. Billie really stole the show when she had the crappiest day you could possible imagine. Just that one day had me cheering her on from that point on. But of course she is a awesome character. Evan on the other hand, no matter how sexy I found him, did from time to time grate on my nerves. The no attachment thing he had going on got to be a bit weary to me. And then his secrets started to come out. Oh. Oh no. Okay I feel bad for getting irked at him (but secretly I still wanted to shake him) but his issues certainly were not what I expected.

What pulls me into the story and series in general is the family feel it has. I just can't call Dillon, Mike, Tilla, Marley and the rest of the gang characters. They feel so much like family to me. It's their love for one another, and the funny humor they offer up, that really lures me in and keeps me wanting this series to keep from ending. Which is why I almost feel a little sad that I was in a strong like, not love, as I was with the previous book. Don't misunderstand me. Wanting to shake some sense into certain characters aside, I thoroughly enjoyed The Other P-Word. It was a wonderful book, with just the right amount of heat, fun and entertainment. And for the most part I found it very hard to put it down. BUT, I sort of felt it was lacking the special something that I had previously experienced before. The over the top emotional investment I had previously going was somewhat missing for me.

Queue the last 30% of their story. OMG...Billie and Evan. I was a sobbing pile of goo. Here is where my emotions grabbed at the book and had me screaming this is IT! This is what I needed. This is where I got wrecked and knew everything was worth it. The details are not something I will share so instead I will say, no matter how much I felt The Other P-Word was rocking a solid 4-Stars. However, once the real meat of the story started coming out this baby kicked right up to 5-stars.

Two books and now I am a complete fan of M.K. Schiller. I am already eyeballing her other books, trying to figure out which one I want to devour next. Or shall I say the next after the next because I really need to get serious and read the book that started this whole series. I'll be hitting that one as soon as I finish this review. It's fairly obvious I have read the In Other Words series somewhat out of order and it has completely worked for me. Can they be read out of order? Yes. Should they and can you just read one and walk away. No not really because I'm finding them to be too addicting. Will there be more in the series? I certainly hope so because I'm dying to find out where their lives go from here. That and now what will Derek do now that he caught...

I received this book from the JeepDiva for the express purposes of an honest review. The opinions and rating of this review are solely mine.

I haven't read one M.K. Schiller book I didn't love- and this one was just SO good! Oh the feels!!

Joint review with Alexis--

I don't think we have made it any secret how much we love and adore MK Schiller's writing. She truly is an author that doesn't get enough attention and each and every book she writes blows us away. Her books will make you laugh, cry, swoon, and most importantly just feel!

The Other P-Word is the 3rd book in the In Other Words series, but could be read as a standalone. Although we don't recommend you do this, only because you want to get to know all the characters in the series, as they make an appearance in each book. This book tells Billie Price's story. She is the youngest of the sisters, but seems to be the one the family leans on and looks to for support, the most. She has always been driven and had a clear picture of what she wanted in her life. But after one horrible day (that was just too funny) she realizes she needs to change things up. The first thing she decides to do is bring more passion into her life, "passion with a purpose."

"I'd always loved the slow, sexy drawl of a southern man, especially when it hit the notes of rich and smokey- slow poured honey over hard whiskey."

That passion has a name; Evan Wright- a sexy, tattooed, guitar-toting drifter, who is one big ball of mystery. Billie and Evan come to an understanding. They will be friends who have hot sex while he is in town, but when he leaves they cut things off with no further contact. This is the way that Evan has lived the last ten years of his life and Billie agrees, thinking that she will get what she needs out of it and be able to walk away-but of course things don't always work out so easily.

"Don't you worry, Billie Marie Price. I aim to cuddle the fuck out of you."

Once again MK is able to write with just the right amount of humor and heart. This book had us book laughing out loud, but then had us crying in parts too (for Alexis, it was way more than just a few parts). The way that MK weaved songs into this book and the feelings it evoked just made this book even more special. We loved getting to catch up with Marley and Stevie (Billie's older sisters) and we fell in love with Rick, Damien, Adam, and Dillion (all men from the past books in this series) all over again. This book, well really this whole series, is a Three Girls top recommendation. But don't stop there, you really must pick up the other books by MK Schiller. We highly doubt you will be disappointed! Alexis also has her hopes that Dillon will be getting a book of his own, while Stacia is hoping we will get Derek's (Damien's younger brother) story next.

ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest review

I got totally hooked with this amazing book from the moment I started reading. I thought falling in love with Rick in The Other C-Word and Damien in The Other F-Word were two of the best things that ever happened to me. But falling in love with Evan was even more intense. It was simply magical. It was a fantasy becoming a reality because I always have a soft spot for alpha male singers in books. I have always dreamed of my partner singing and dedicating songs to me. Evan singing to Billie made me feel like he was singing to me too.

I laughed, cried and swooned my heart out. The twist and turn of events were too much for my heart to handle. I didn't even know when they fell in love. Well maybe there never was an exact moment because they were already in love the moment they both laid eyes on each other in the cemetery. I was swooning in most parts of the book. Hopeful that there would be no obstacles when they finally became a couple. I love how Evan was so protective, so caring and so loving to Billie. I love how their relationship flourished into something more. Billie going with Evan on a road trip that made him a better man was the turning point in their relationship. But a twist in the story broke me. My heart was crashed when Evan just sort of gave up. But eventually, the will to live a life full of love with Billie made Evan change his mind. He finally realized that life is worth fighting for when you have someone you love to share it with.

What really endeared me to the story is that there is so much love being shared. It's not only a love story between a couple, but also a love story between family members and friends. The love the sisters and their mother have for each other is so inspiring. The bond was so strong that they withstood all obstacles life brought them. They welcomed new family members with open arms and loving them unconditionally.

I love this amazing series. Despite Emmie having a rough start in life, having different fathers for her 3 daughters and never been lucky with those relationships, she still found the perfect love in Damien. Likewise her 3 daughters also found theirs. She raised her daughters full of love and brought them up well despite being a single mom with no love from her parents to guide her. Besides love, there was so much hope, trust and forgiveness in this series. This is really a must read for all. A total package and a perfect blend for all readers. A perfect ending for this series.

I give this a 5 Star rating

OMG this book was Absofreakinlutely one of my most favorite books I read this year, and I've read a lot so far! I had so much emotional turmoil from this book. I laughed, I cried buckets, and had so many heart twinges I had a hard time catching my breath at times.

I loved, loved, loved Evan. He had such a rough go in life. I loved watching his personal growth, his heart ache, his redemption. He was the perfect match for Billie and she for him. She helped him in his journey of self forgiveness, self perseverance and opening his heart to realize he is worthy of love and affection.

Together they were a combustible combination! The sex was smoking hot, the romance was sweet, and the did I mention the sex was smoking hot? As in panty melting hot?! Well, it was!!

I loved the characters! They were so well written and easy to become emotionally involved with. The dialogue between characters flowed so well, that I felt as if I was part of the conversation and the storyline was great and easy to follow. The descriptions to details were done well also.

This was written as a multi pov. This is book 3 of the series but can be read as a stand alone. I have not read book 1 or 2 but I plan to go back and read them, then will probably read this one again, I loved it that much!

So all in all, a fanfreakingtastic read!

Would I recommend this book? Oh heck ya!!!

Would I read more from this author? Yes!

This book had the potential to be great. If the first half was focused on building the relationship rather than Billie's family it could have gone down as one of the greatest love stories. There was too much focus on Billies family, no real build up to their relationship therefore when they finally got together all of a sudden they have broken up. Killed the mood.

Great stiryline with load of potiential

Coming into a series mid-stream is always a risk. With the third book in MK Schiller’s Other Words series, The Other P-Word, it’s a fairly easy adjustment.

While my preference would have been to start at the beginning, the author does an admirable job in rolling out an unforgettable set of characters. Billie Price has reached a crossroads in her life. Nothing is going the right way, including a new hairdo created by an elite hairdresser. The last thing she is looking for is the wrong kind of guy.

Evan Wright may not be looking for anything permanent, but there is something about Billie that keeps his attention. When two people not expecting passion come together, there’s plenty of heat to go around. But is passion enough for Billie or is she looking for The Other P-Word?

The biggest obstacle I experienced was keeping all of the secondary characters straight. I don’t know whether this would have been different if I had started with the first book in the series, but it took a bit of time to sort them out. With that said, they are all well-developed and interesting characters. The focal point, however, stays on Billie and Evan.

The dialogue is especially refreshing and helps bring the story to life. There’s no doubt that the author is skilled in building a storyline that will stick with readers. As for the heat level, it meshed well with the other aspects of the story. This is definitely a fun series to read.

Positively Perfect!

How that for a "P" word! I was so happy to see this as a release that I did not hesitate to one-click this sucker! I was not disappointed. It was so good to get caught back up with "the gang". I am so happy Billie got her story too.

Passionately Poignant Prose. Prepare yourself for the most intense roller coaster of this trilogy. Prodigious tale to wrap up the trilogy, but suffers from the same need of an editor as its predecessors.

It started a little slow for me - but it was nice to revisit the family again - that's one of the reasons I liked these three books and I will kiss them - this probably saddest book in places - I shed tears . It was nice Evan found his "real."

I want to start by saying that this book is one of those kinds of book that you know you want to read and re-read again and again. I love the In Other Words series and have been following this crazy, funny, loyal and witty family since coming across The Other C-Word which by the way I recommend you guys to read first (although this book can be read as a standalone.)

In The Other P-Word, We come to know Billie as the heroine. The romantic in the family, who is very loyal and an idealist with whom we all wish to find in ourselves looking for the right passion with the right purpose, meets Evan Wright, a tattoo-clad, guitar-strumming, Harley-riding modern day drifter, who we think is not the right guy for Billie. But as life is full of surprises, Billie just can’t resist the attraction (I know I can’t). I love and hate Evan in this book because he is just so stubborn. Giving me the angst that makes me want to shake him till his eyeballs fall. With his tragic past and future filled with the unknown ☹, you just can’t help fall in love with him.

As I have said before, I have been following this family and I have never expected to love Billie more than Marley. Marley was my all time fave character in this series. NOT ANYMORE. Billie struggling to write her book gets all the right inspiration from Evan. I super love the twist in this story. Not all bees and flowers. I love the balance that comes from this book. I love the thorns analogy. (Makes me think if I am a good thorn to my husband and family) The sex scenes were hot and steamy and OH SO RIGHT! I love a good sex scene that isn’t overly described. It was written to be sensual and not overly porn-like. But most of all, Like all MK Schiller books. The P-Word, gives you all the things MK Schiller delivers the best. Happy, Sad, Very touching moments, Tears in your eyes, LOL moments, and things that make your heart so full of love. One can never find a dull moment with The Other P-Word.

More than 5 Thorny stars to you MK Schiller, I am so honoured to have beta-read this for you. Your words are an inspiration to us all. Looking forward to more other words from you!

I enjoyed each book, but what I loved the most was Stevie and Adams wedding vows it was touching. Rick and Marley's journey was different especially how they met "R U Randy" that was epic I had to laugh when the old man came up to her. Their journey was an eye opener to find someone that stands with you even when you are unconscious, who comforts you even when you don't know that they're there, someone who is there regardless of the physical and emotional pain you bare and inflict on them but never give up on you.

Emmie and Damion's journey a love that transcend age and time. A love that hurt and mend that brought people and strangers to create and even bigger family. Last but not least Billie and Evan an attraction that created a kinship, then passion, then friendship and love. A love that was determined; a love that never fails, a love that made a medium family huger than it was. Billie had her work cut out for her, she fell in love with someone in morning for 10 years or as they say survivors syndrome.

All three books were greatly written it included every character the first book in the series started with and continued to show the growth of each family has it told the story of each couple. The journey each couple had was not just shared amongst themselves but was entangled with their family. A family that was close, loving and endearing.

M.K. Schiller you need to find me one of these men for myself I would love a combination of Adams Humor, Ricks dedications and strength, Damion's determination and assiduousness and Evans sweet voice and a rocking hot body all combined with blue eyes. But above all these things I want him to see me as how these men saw their woman; not just as a lover, a sex partner, friend or wife but as a soul mate the other half to my soul.

I won this book as a Goodreads first reads winner and I'm so glad I did!!
Wow so I have got to say I'm absolutely stunned! This is my first book by this author and let me just say it's one of the best books I've ever read! This book will stay with you forever. I swear I never laughed so hard all while being turned on! Evan is every girls wet dream and kryptonite! Billie despite everything is amazingly strong and beautiful inside and out. Together they are a unstoppable force that can't be stopped by anything. I was deeply moved by the words of their story and it was a burning passion for life, romance, laughter and heartache and many other things i can't even begin to describe what this book did for me. Music is a big thing in this book and just goes to show there is a song for everything which i strongly believed but now more so. If this authors books aren't gracing the store shelves they should be and definitely will be. I'm blown away by every page definitely glad to have had the opportunity to own this in paperback! It must be owned all of them must be owned in paperback and re-read constantly to show people that you can overcome everything thrown at you and that love always finds a way. Music is in your soul and laughter is key and love is always in your life even if you feel like you don't deserve it. Love always finds a way! I'm beyond impressed so take a chance on these books you won't be sorry and your life will be forever changed!

Deep breaths…in…out…in…out…OMG what an amazing book. I absolutely, positively loved this book! One of the best I have read this year! I couldn’t put it down and didn’t want it to end. What an emotional ride I took. When the major twist hit, I was in bed reading and had to leave and go to the living room so I didn’t wake my husband with my sobs. Wow.
This is the first book I’ve read from MK Schiller and I can assure you this will not be the last-or the only time I will read this particular one! Yes, this is book three in the In Other Words Books, but I had no problems reading this as a stand-alone. I didn’t feel like I was missing anything, but I am most definitely going to go back and read the first two just because I fell in love with all the characters, and reading the blubs on books one and two, I need to have more of their stories as well.
I laughed, swooned, awww’d, fell in love, sobbed, jumped up and down in joy, and so much more with this beautifully written story. The character development was great; the dialogue was amazing and took you everywhere from cracking up to wanting to throw your kindle. These characters, main and supporting, were written so wonderfully, it was easy to fall in love with every one of them.
I highly recommend this book and I can’t wait to get started on the other books in this series and finding more great reads from MK Schiller!

A girl met a boy. The girl got attracted to the boy but smartly refused to act on it because the boy is well known to not want a relationship. Then the girl decided to take up a job at the bar where the boy works, thus bar owned by the boy's friends, and also moves in the appartment next to the boy's one (If this is not stalking I don't know what it is). She invited the boy at her family dinner (despite him not being her boyfriend). And generally keeps sending him signals that she wants more with him. The boy tells her "I want you but I am in town for a few months. Would you want us to have a relationship based on sex (friends with benefit...) and then I'll forget about you once I am gone?" (... but basically without the friends part at the end) The girl says yes. But then she got mad/hurt when the boy reaffirmed his desire to not be involved in anything serious (well what did she expect?). Because the girl has the magical p**ssy we all dream about, the boy comes back running to her all apologetic. Now he is willing to try the relationship thing but first, wants the girl to go on an impromptu road trip with him so that he can sort out his dark and sad past. Of course the girl aggree to put her life on hold to follow a guy she barely knows, who knows where to do who knows what. From then on I started skimming the book to the end because, really, I couldn't anymore.

Holy WOW, this book was amazing! I fell in love with Evan from the start and although he disappointed me at times, I want him for myself! Evan has so many facets to his personality and I wanted to uncover them all. He's been steeping in pain for 10 years, refusing to live in the now, for himself or anyone else. He's moody, broody, sweet, and funny. He embodies the bad-boy image that women fantasize about.

Billie is having what she thinks is the worst day of her life when she seeks Evan out. Billie may be having a string of bad luck, but her world is about to get so much better. She brings sunshine and sweetness into Evan's world and gives him hope.

I loved the supporting characters, they had so much flavor and added so much color to the story. Billie's family is large, loud, in each other's business, but so full of love and support. Evan's family is full of surprises and forgiveness.

This book has all the makings to give the reader an emotional ride they won't soon forget. I laughed, I sighed and I cried. There's so much to love in this book. Although this is book 3 in the In Other Words series, this is the first book I've read by M.K. Schiller, and I look forward to going back and reading books 1 and 2! A reader just can't go wrong with this book!
