Great book

I love this book! Alex and Catilina fight to be together and in the end love wins. ❤️

I rarely give out one star reviews but this book was just awful. The writing was hard to read smoothly and the story was so far fetched and unrealistic that I couldn’t stop laughing multiple times at just how ridiculous the plot was. Even how the couple first got together was so far fetched. Also the “adults” in this story were so immature and I just had a hard time believing that Catalina’s mother was so obsessed with her and how she lived her life only to completely abandon her in the end. Doesn’t make sense. The “kids” in this story who were raised by the immature “adults” were the most understanding, mature 18 year olds I have ever met. Also there were numerous grammar errors and wrong names at times which made the story confusing. Not going to read this author again. 📚

This book has it all! If you enjoy character development for multiple characters. Teacher student, yes it’s high school but the author does an amazing job making it not creepy. Best friends dad and exes dad. See told you it has everything. The relationships between all of the characters suffer and rebuild, it’s pretty amazing to watch. Most importantly if you need a book to pull you out of a slump and rule your life for a few hours this is the one! Oh one last thing, I hope one handed reading isn’t uncomfortable for you.

best friend’s dad, age gap, student/teacher romance. lots of spice and it starts quick within the story! student/teacher romances can be hard for me because the young mc’s are always pretty immature and im not a fan of that (but who wasn’t immature and dramatic in high school😅). also there was almost too much unnecessary description in this book, where common sense things were too explained which made for a fair bit of filler

Sorry, but this was a no for me. It was wildly juvenile, between the characters (both the teenagers and the middle aged men and woman), the fast paced relationship, the ridiculousness of it all…it just felt so immature. This might’ve been a better read if it was shorter, but I was expecting a more interesting story. It’s like it was stuck with the writing style of a erotica novella and a taboo romance novel. And it doesn’t fit in either category.

Wow – what a steamy read! This book delves into the forbidden relationship between a student and her high school teacher (who happens to be her best friend’s dad).  

We meet Catalina, gorgeous cheerleader who hasn’t been in any serious relationships, daydreaming “inappropriate” things about her teacher. However, knowing it’s her best friends dad, she doesn’t believe it will go any further. (I’m not going to tell you who she lost her V-card to, but damn. Plot twist!) Fast forward to a night of drinking and hanging out at her best friend’s house, and here comes Alex… 
Alex, recently divorced… workaholic… who’s recently spent quite a bit more time at the gym has a chance encounter with Catalina that drunken night and everything changes… 

I loved that the drama kept coming – I ended up finishing it in one night as I couldn’t put it down. The author also did a good job of keeping everything realistic; I’m sure this same exact thing happened when I was in high school! I also really enjoyed the characters – they were all dealing with their own drama separate from the main plot but it all fit together very nicely. 

Recommend this for all of you out there who want to relive your high school teacher fantasies!

This book was a fast little read at just over 200 pages but that didn’t take anything away from the story, nothing felt rushed and it got to where it needed to without missing chunks of time as I’ve experienced with some shorter books

The story line was fast paced and full of angst, I’ve read some reviews that said nothing was believable but it’s fiction so nothing like that bothers me, this was such a good read in my opinion!

The characters were loving and angsty and wonderful, every chapter I kept thinking someone was going to catch onto their secret and when they finally did the angst is up full notch! And the spicy scenes were page burner spicy 🥵🔥

I have nothing at all the say against this book, it was a fast read and did its job at having a story and spice instead of just pure smut! Five out of five for me! 😍

Check, check, check, and check—“My Teacher’s Dirty Secret” had everything I needed in a Teacher/Student forbidden romance. This one also had some extra forbidden pieces. Alex was not just Catalina’s teacher but the father of her best friend AND the father of her ex-boyfriend. Alex’s wife left him, and his twin son and daughter left him a single dad raising his kids and working as a teacher. His daughter is best friends with Catalina, his student, and one night, Catalina spends the night at their house and bumps into Alex and then does some more bumping. And it was hot—more than hot. Don’t worry. Catalina is eighteen. But they are both concerned about being caught.

But Author Dakota Wilde didn’t just write all about the spice. There is more to the story. The contentious relationship between Alex’s ex and the twins, the strange relationship Catalina has with her overbearing mother, and dealing with Catalina’s ex-boyfriend Tucker. All of that unfolds in a captivating way. One thing that does stick out, though, is Catalina’s father; I wish he had his own story. He deserves it.

Soooo I took a little detour from my massive tbr pile after seeing Dakota Wilde's post in the group introducing herself and naming her books. I saw she had one called My Teachers Dirty Secret and I said, whoa! I wanna be my teachers dirty secret too(I'm 41, no teacher in sight) but you get it right?!😂 So I ran to kindle and downloaded it before I even finished reading her post. Soooo glad I did because this book was steamy and positively messy and I loved every second of it!! Lots of 🌶️🌶️🌶️ and helllooooo Mr. Thatcher🥵🥵🥵 One of my favorite lines in the book "that's my hot teacher hoodie girl." 🤣🤣 I need book 2 in this series now! I'm on to the next but y'all need to read this and ALL of Dakotas books!!! Happy reading everyone!!!🖤🖤🖤

Spicy

I do love a good student/teacher age gap romance and this one was good except for the amount of grammatical errors. And normally those wouldn’t bother me and I’d just continue to enjoy the story, but these were so distracting and it felt like they were EVERYWHERE!

That complaint aside, both characters lacked maturity and their connection lacked depth. I got the attraction, I got the sexual tension and energy, after their involvement had initiated, however their affection for each other just didn’t come across as believable to me.

Double check your inconsistencies

This book repeatedly states that Alex was a teen parent, but then says he's a 39 year old father to 18 year old twins. Other than that I really liked the book. Please fix that one error and you have a great story. I'd like Abbey's and Tucker's stories too.

I love a good teacher/student romance but i think I need more of an internal struggle from both characters. The spice was good and I did enjoy the characters together but again I wanted more depth.

The side characters are against the relationship but are so quick to just say “okay we’re cool with it now” I needed more drama!

The transition from them being teacher and student to lovers was so abrupt and sudden. She had a crush on him but he wasn’t really thinking of her that way. All of a sudden one sleepover and an accidental crash in the hallway made them suddenly shag? Needed more of a build up. The adults read like teens while the teens (the MC’s) were more mature.

Also the story needs an editor. Lots of missing punctuation and the story didn’t flow very well.

Two stars for the spicy scenes, though!

The chapters flew by so quickly and I loved the dual POVs. Couldn't put this one down. While the spice starts early, it still made sense for the book.
