Dark Sanctuary #2

Trapped by Doubt

Rate this book
It will take three Dominants to drag this submissive out of her safe little rut.

After a chaotic childhood, Ell uses routine and order to feel safe. When she goes to Sanctuary, a well-known BDSM club, the last thing she expects is to run into anyone she already knows, let alone three Dominants who are all too willing to mess up her perfectly ordered life.

Clint, Ethan and Fox have gone to Sanctuary for years, but after a bad experience with a submissive, they’re gun-shy about taking on anyone else. However, when they see Ell there, they can’t resist the pull to the sweet, stubborn woman.

When Ell is attacked in her home, the men help her move into an apartment in the same complex as them, which lets them explore each other—and their own wants—that much more. But there’s Ell’s trouble with trust, the men’s doubts about her commitment and mounting suspicions about the attack on her to deal with.

The quartet will have to learn how to let go of their pasts and trust one another to have any hope of finding happiness—and staying alive.

Reader advisory: This book contains scenes of violence and abduction, and mentions of child abuse.

Jayce Carter has written a 5-star book. This is the story of Ell, Clint, Ethan, and Fox. Ell has agreed to go to the Sanctuary BDSM club with her friend Dean. When they get there, Dean sees someone he wants to spend some time with. Ell tells him to go on, she would be fine. She ends up moving tables and while trying to find one, the lights go out. She ends up falling and lands on a man's lap. There are three men and she ends up talking to all of them. She seems to know their voices but can't place them. When the lights come back on, she is shocked to see Clint, Ethan, and Fox there. They are shocked to see Ell. Ell is upset and she leaves the club. A few days later, she goes to see Fox at his office and she has a cup of coffee for him. She tells him that she is sorry that she lied when they were talking before. He tells her that it is okay but she would need to apologize to Clint and Ethan also. When Ell is attacked and taken to the hospital, Ethan and Clint get word about it at the station they work at. They are both detectives. They call Fox and he goes to see if she is okay. The guys own the top floor of the apartment building they live in and they have Ell move into the empty apartment. they want to make sure she is safe. They want to have a relationship with her but she is not sure she is right for them. She has a lot of baggage that she needs to work out along with trust issues. The guys try to let her know that they will be there for her but she just doesn't trust it. The guys had been in a relationship with Jane and she just did things to please them and wasn't happy. She took an overdose of pills and almost died. Fox has gone to pick up Ell and taken her back to Sanctuary where they are to meet with Clint and Ethan. When they get inside the club, someone says "Hello, Fox." He knows that voice and it is Jane. Ell sees how Fox reacts to Jane and she has doubts about their feelings for her. The guys take her into a private room and they have a talk but she gets upset when the guys tell her that things are not working out between them and tell her it is over. She moves out of their apartment and Dean, her friend helps her find a new one. Ethan is drinking his coffee and there is a knock on his door. When he said to come in, he is shocked to see Jane come in. She asked him to call Clint and Fax over so they could have a talk. They end up talking about the time when they all had been together and what happened to her. Jane tells them that what happened was not their fault. They talk about Ell and Jane tells them that Ell looked happy but did they all tell her how they felt. Ell had a few new friends over to her new apartment and Kat ended up staying the night. She is woken up by a strange noise and goes to check things out. She runs into one of the men who attacked her the first time. She and Kat are taken, and she is told that she is being used to get what Jerry wants. She tells Jerry that no one would do that. Clint, Ethan, and Fox go to Ell's new apartment and meet with Dean. Dean has a key and lets them in when Ell doesn't answer her door or her phone. One of the guys walks into the bedroom and finds signs of a struggle and blood on the bed. They have no clue about what happened. Olin, another detective is talking to Ethan and tells him he should go home and get some rest. Ethan said that he was not going home until they found her. Olin tells him to go into his office and get some rest. Ethan is woken up by a noise and there are no lights on so whoever came in didn't see him. Ethan sees that it is Donnie, one of the kids that Ell was helping. Donnie goes to the file cabinet and pulls out a file. Ethan stops him and this is when he finds out who took Ell. While talking to Donnie, they find out why Ell was taken. Fox doesn't know what to do so he takes his phone out and they're on the home screen is an icon blinking. It is the locator that they had put on Ell's phone she never turned on. He opened the app and it gave her location. He jumps up and said, "I know where Ell is. No one paid him attention at first, then they got what he said. Ell is trying to figure out a way to get her and Kat out of the situation they are in. When there is a knock on the door, Jerry gets up to answer it. Ell is shocked to see Donnie walk in. Jerry tells Donnie that this wasn't the place to meet and asked "How did you know where I was?" Donnie tells him he had his way. When Donnie hands over the file, he asked Jerry, "Now you will let Ell and Kat go?" Jerry tells him not just yet. He goes over to Kat and pulls her up and said that she was going with him while he went over the file. A few minutes later, Ell hears a scream and it hurts her to know that Kat is being hurt and she can't do anything about it. There is a noise outside and Donnie pulls Ell down and covers her. Things happen fast and when Ell is able to see, it is to find Clint looking at her. Ell looked at the bedroom door and told Clint that Jerry had taken Kat in there and that she screamed a minute before. One of the other officers tried the door and when it wouldn't open, he kicked it in. Ethan looked in the room when the officer said clear. Ell asked about Kat. Ethan said she was alive but they needed to get her to the hospital. Ell and Kat both were taken to the hospital. Fox walks into Ell's room and sees both Clint and Ethan there.
Will Clint, Ethan, and Fox get Ell to forgive them?
Will Ell take Clint, Ethan, and Fox back?
This was a wonderful book and I would recommend it to anyone.

★ “Before she’d been a fantasy but now, she was his reality.” ★

—>>> This was a great read, with many challenges from both Ell’s and the mens’ pasts. Good balance between drama/suspense from the present situations, OCD and trust issues related to the past. This time, the men may just have found the perfect fit to their trio!

This is the second book in the Dark Sanctuary series but it can be read as a standalone. Ell had a messy childhood and now she uses routine and order to keep her feeling safe. Her friend convincers to go to a BDSM club where she runs into three Doms she happens to know. When she is attacked at home, they help her move into the same apartment complex as them and explore their new relationship. Will trust issues tear them apart? Fast-paced read with loads of drama, suspense and emotion. The chemistry is sizzling and the story entertaining I liked it.

I have ARC read for Jayce Carter before. I read her Nemesis duet and absolutely loved it. Jumped right onto this arc but just didn’t realize that the style of the story differs to that of the one I read. Nothing bad. I enjoyed it either way.

Ell has a rough and chaotic childhood. It's the main reason she became a social worker and goes above and beyond to ensure the children in her caseload are protected and fought for. But it has also left her with OCD and a need for routine. Routine and making sure everything is exactly how she wants it to be, makes her feel safe. That includes not dating.

Ell works or comes across many different individuals in her line of work. That includes police officers Clint and Ethan as well as Doctor Fox. They all have an attraction towards Ell. Ell feels the same but lives in denial. Nothing can get her to break her routine. Little does Ell know that when her best friend gets her to go to Sanctuary, a BDSM club with him, that she would bump into those three there. Especially to find out that they are doms that like to share a sub.
With her own trust issues. The three doms also have trust issues with subs after a bad experience but they can’t help the pull and need to possess Ell as their own.

Things take a turn when Ell is attacked in her home. To keep her safe the men ask her to move into their building complex. While keeping her safe, they can also explore each other and test the doms/sub relationship.

They’ll have to learn how to get past their trust issues in order to make it work. But what happens when the ex-sub shows up again? Whose after Ell and why? Will they attack her again? Can they get past their challenges and make the relationship work?

Some of the scenes between the characters were spicy. I enjoyed how the relationship flowed. It wasn’t so unrealistically rushed. Like the sub is just going to automatically trust her doms and fit right into the lifestyle. I only wish we got to see more interaction between the characters and got to see a bit more backstory to each. But I enjoyed it just the same.

I loved this BDSM romantic story. It is the story of Elanor aka "Ell" Hayden who is a social worker. She grew up in foster homes, so she always had to defend for herself. During her foster home days, she met her best friend Dean and only person she considered family. Because of being tossed about in foster home and not being able to depend on anyone she was afraid to trust anyone with her life but herself. She had this young man named Donnie who was one of the young people whose case she was assigned to. He lived with his grandmother in one of the worse sides of town, but Ell could relate to him. She knows these detectives Ethan Jaymes and Clint Faires. She is drawn to Ethan and she thinks Clint doesn't like her and she is sort of scared of him, not that he has given her reason to be. She knows Dr. Fox Asher from at the hospital where she sometimes has to go because the children she works with are abused physically or even emotionally but she really thinks he is such a handsome man and so nice to talk too. She meets the three of them one evening after being taken to this BDSM club by her friend Dean. He goes off with one of the women he knows and tells her to go around and make friends. She goes to get something to eat and when she goes to look for a place to sit before she can find a place the lights go off in the club and she runs into a body not knowing that it is Ethan and he is sitting with his friends Clint and Fox. This is how their relationship begins. It truly is a good story with issues of trust and foster children and sexual relationships with a BDSM edge. It isn't what you think it is actually it is very good and I would highly recommend it.
It is a good read.

This is a good story. Characters are well thought out and the plot points make sense. I am still fine tuning my contemporary romance preferences, and I’m just not sure this did it for me. Definitely worth giving it a try.

5 ⭐️s= Perfect story, exciting, engrossing, well developed complex characters, solid plot with few to no holes, descriptive environments and place settings, great mystery elements, realistic dialogue, believable reactions and behaviors, loved this story so much I’d buy it.

4 ⭐️s= Great story, highly entertaining and enjoyable, exciting storyline, well developed characters and settings, a few discrepancies but nothing that can’t be overlooked. Believable actions and reactions, realistic dialogue, a book I would consider buying.

3 ⭐️s= Good but not great story, noticeable discrepancies, grammatical and or spelling errors, undeveloped characters or unbelievable behaviors but still readable. Nothing majorly wrong with the story, just not interesting enough for me to continue. Would not buy the book.

2 ⭐️s= Not offended by the story, but not interested enough to finish. Unbelievable characters, poor writing, many mistakes, big holes or discrepancies, many spelling or grammatical errors, characters not believable, unlikeable or TSTL.

1 ⭐️= Offensive, extremely poor writing, horrible characters, victimization, gaslighting, blatant abuse, unnecessary violence, child endangerment, or any other highly objectionable behaviors by Main characters. Would never buy this book, and do not recommend it to anyone.

Absolutely loved this book. Could not put it down!!

Ell is a great FMC. She is a super strong woman who is relentlessly looking after the Kids she is assigned as their case worker. While she is always sure of herself in her professional life the opposite is true when it comes to her personal life. Ell does not like changes. She is a bit OCD and changes make her nervous. She decides to let her friend take her to a BDSM club to get him off her back. She never dreamed that she would literally fall into the lap of someone in the dark and was surprised to find out it was someone she already knew.

Ethan, Clint and Fox are all members of the Club. They are also Men that Ell knows from her professional life. They have liked her from afar but always thought they were too old for her and never asked her out. She has always admired them as well but did not want to tear down the walls to her carefully constructed fort around her heart.

Ell is attacked and Ethan, Clint and Fox step in to help her out. This leads to them helping her out in other ways. They start to build a relationship but Ell's head gets in the way of her heart and she runs again.

Lots of Drama in this book and lots of Caring from the guys. They just want Ell to get out of her own way and also be protected and safe.

I absolutely loved this book and can not wait to read the next one in this series if it does continue! Will always read any book by Jayce Carter she is one heck of a writer!!

This is part of the Dark Sanctuary series each book so far reads as a standalone here you have three sexy as all get out guys Clint, Ethan and Fox who are all DOMS!!!!! They want a relationship where they are comfortable with their sub, but also one to teach, be honest with and to love completely in the only way they know how each sexy guy is different in personality, ways they dish out control or punishments, but they are all on the same page when it comes to their sub. Ell is so strong raised in foster care being pushed from home to home, saw a lot of things that should have gone down or happened in foster care and yet she thrived to become a social worker knowing exactly what is needed since she grew up in them right along with her best friend Dean who together get into some fun so he convinces her to go to the BDSM club with him and after leaving her to find some trouble to get into while he go have some fun himself and this is where the adventures pick up because here she meets three sexy as all get out men. There is a connection between the four of them but when they face a little suspense, a lot of doubt on her part, a lot of learning to trust on her part and three in three amazing alphas two cops and a doc. but is it enough, will they be enough for her to put her trust in them, can they even teach her how to let go freely trusting and where is it all headed?.

Ell is a social worker stuck in a rut and her friend Dean takes her to Sanctuary to try to help. Ethan, Clint and Fox are members at Sanctuary and have interacted with Ell on a professional level. They meet at the club during a power outage and connect without realizing they know each other. Ell ends up the victim of a robbery/assault and the guys step in to protect her and things get steamy from there.

The D/s aspect of this book is done very well and explores the power dynamics. The explanation of the power exchange is thorough and delves into the idea that it is about more than sex and it requires trust of all of the participants. Although there are some definite steamy bits, the relationship between the four of them builds organically and as a result is much more believable.

I liked Ell's character, although I tend to prefer stronger FMC, in this instance her OCD tendencies and trust issues were appropriate to who she is and she did step up and defend herself when the time came. I would have liked to get more of the backstory on the guys, but in the end I did enjoy their characters as well. The plot moved quickly and kept me engaged through the entire story.

Notes:
- Jayce’s novels are always sweet, NO OW drama. A little cringey and sickly sweet at times but reading his books I expect this

📕📗📘📙📕📗📘📙📕📗📘📙📕📗📘📙📕📗📘

Summary:
Book 2: We are back at Sanctuary (a BDSM Club) where Ell (a social worker) is dragged to by her friend Dean to “get her out of the house” to do something. The power goes out and she accidently trips into 3 strangers (Clint, Ethan & Fox) who she talks to about her kinks. When the power goes back on, she is horrified to realize these are three men she knows and works with.

With a lot of coaxing, reassurance and managing her insecurities, the men are able to PAINFULLY SLOWLY form a dom/sub relationship with. Ell is attacked in her apartment but manages to fight off her attackers. She moves in with her doms for protection.

The men run into Jane, a previous sub of theirs who was unhappy in their relationship and tried to commit suicide. The men are worried a similar fate awaits Ell so they break up with her and she moves out.

Once again vulnerable, Ell is kidnapped by the attackers. The men save her with the help of a child she is protecting, revealing that Ell was kidnapped to force the child to do their bidding. Ell moves back home with them and they begin their permanent dom/sub relationship. HEA.

This was the first book I have read by this author but I can report it will not be the last. I really enjoyed this story. It was well written. It has a great storyline. And I loved the main characters a lot. My heart wept for Ell as she shared parts of her past with Clint, Ethan and Fox. Ell had a sad upbringing and that experience, carried on into her adult life. She knows Fox, Ethan and Clint in her professional life but can she trust them in her personal life. Unbeknownst to her, these three men came into the relationship with a general distrust to relationships like their actually working even though they have realized it yet. This is story that is full of learning to trust, passion, forgiveness and hope. Throw in a "who-done it" overarching theme and it made for a great story. I loved it so much, I am heading of to read the first book in this series. A great story with great characters from cover to cover.

After reading the first Dark Sanctuary book I was looking forward to reading book 2! I was not disappointed! In book 2 we follow our FMC Ell who is a social worker, after growing up in foster homes needing to fend for herself. She has a best friend Dean she met while in her foster home and the only person she allows close to her. Ell doesn't trust easily and relies mostly on herself for her life.

Dean convinces her to go to the BDSM club and after he leaves her to her own devices she runs into three men she knows from her job. Our MMCs Clint, Ethan & Fox are not looking to rush into another D/s relationship after their previous one left a bad taste. After Ell runs into some danger the men help her out, while also seeing if this new relationship could work with all of them.

I love that there was plenty of plot / steam ratio in this book. Jayce does an amazing job of balancing the two while keeping you interested! Can't wait to read more!.

This is the second book in this series, but it can be read as a standalone. I wanted to love this story, but it was just an okay read for me. There were things I liked and disliked about this story. It took me a while to get into this story because for me, the beginning of the story started off slow. However, the story did pick up after a while. There were parts of the story that made me laugh out loud and there was definitely a lot of steamy scenes within the story. I just wanted a little more romance between Ell, Clint, Ethan and Fox. The main characters were okay, but I was hoping for and needing a deeper connection between the group. I just didn't feel it. I didn't like how the men let their past with Jane affect their life with Ell. They gave things up too easily and I also didn't like how Ell forgave them so quickly. The ending was a sweet and steamy one for the sub and her Doms. Overall, this was an okay story for me, but I would recommend this story to readers looking for a steamy sub & Dom story, with a little bit of drama and a touch of suspense.

“Fox had learned that in life a person needed to take all the happiness they could get…”

Technically this book is probably only 3 1/2 stars but since I can’t give half stars I’m going to be generous and go with four. There’s nothing really wrong with this book, it just wasn’t as good as I expected. Writing a ménage a quatre can be much more difficult than a ménage a trois. Writing about a relationship between four people can make getting to know and bond with everyone difficult at best. That’s what happened here. It was just too crowded. Also, several times the three men would exhibit the behavior of each other, almost like she forgot who she had talking. This book also lacked in the romance part and seemed more focused on the lifestyle, not leaving much time to connect with the others. Still, the characters themselves were interesting if a little shallow. I’ll probably read another book by Jayce.

Another great story by Jayce Carter. The characters are all very different but they have good chemistry. Ell a former foster child herself will do anything to fight for the kids she goes to court for. She doesn’t have much of a social life. Her one childhood friend finally gets her to agree to accompany him to a BDSM club. After he promptly goes off on his own Ell is told to go look around. She never expected to run into anyone she knew thru work. She was very embarrassed and soon left the club. After being attacked, these men offer her help. She has a hard time trusting them but accepts their help with no other choices. Lots of danger, mystery, and of course some HEAT. I will definitely read more from this author.

Trapped by Doubt is the 2nd book set in Sanctuary, a BDSM club. Like the first, it is a reverse harem story. There are the expected steamy scenes between Ell and her three men, but other than the fact that there is more than one lover, there is not a lot of kink to them. The BDSM element comes in during their daily routines, with the focus on the D/s relationship the men want and Ell struggles with until it is almost too late. I enjoyed the friendships, the backstory, the sexy times and that we get more than one happy end. I would have wished that there had been one for Kat, too, but maybe that is for the next book! An entertaining read, with the 'Dark' coming more from outside the club than from within.

Relationships are work, but it is infinitely more complicated when there is baggage holding you back.
The guys are afraid of making the same mistakes and Ell is afraid of being hurt again.
Their baggage made the characters more relatable and compelling. I reveled in the moments where they truly connected by baring their souls to each other. The threat of losing it all forces them to decide if their relationship is worth the risk.

I enjoyed this trip back to Sanctuary. If you enjoyed book one or other books by the author, I think this one is sure to please. If you like complex relationships with Dom-sub dynamic, this is the story for you.

I look forward to the next story in this series.

Loved the book it was great it pulls you in from the start, author Jayce Carter had done a great job with the story and the characters were amazing. Ell's best friend took her to Sanctuary BDSM Club hoping to pull her out of a rut, she was hungry and needed to find a seat so she was directed where to find seats. Clint, Ethan and Fox all live in their own apartment in a four apartment block with one apartment spare for visitors, they go to Sanctuary Club for a few years when the power went off the three men tried to calm the female they kept talking to her to keep her from panicking but will she listen. The chemistry was hot and steamy, spicy and lots more to go.

This is part of the Dark Sanctuary series each book reads as a standalone. Ell is a former foster child and now a social worker working to save children's lives. Clint and Ethan are both detectives who she's worked with several times. Fox is a doctor she has also worked with. Imagine her surprise and their's when they see her at the BDSM club, Sanctuary. Clint, Ethan and Fox are dogs that haven't been in a long term relationship with a sub for some time, but they are all attracted to Ell, as she is to them. But they all have their own baggage to unpack so they can learn to trust. The book is well paced, sizzling, steamy, some drama, and more. the characters were well written and compelling. I can't wait for more.

Im really enjoying reading these books in The Dark Sanctuary so much. Trapped by Doubt was a great addition to this series. Ell's (FMC) life is methodically arranged, structured and orderly. Mainly stemming back from her childhood growing up in foster care. It meant that she found it hard to let anyone in or to trust them. A night out at BDSM club - Sanctuary with her close friend Dean ends up with her meeting Fox, Ethan and Clint. Men that she already knows in her professional working life. They genuinely open her eyes to what they have to offer her.

This book is dark in places and steamy as hell but for me like the other book in this series at the heart of it is the relationship the FMC has with her guys. Theres an endearing, caring sweetness between all of them that i really liked. A cracking read

I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review. Ell, Ethan, Clint and Fox have come across each other in their professional lives. A trip to Sanctuary brings them together in a personal way. They all feel the attraction but each has trust issues for their own reasons. Not only do they have to build trust, there are problems following Ell now. The story has suspense, drama and danger but it also has friendship, courage, lust and love. The D/s aspect of their relationship brings high heat and more trust. A future together is going to take work. The men have to keep Ell safe and deal with their own baggage along with hers. It was a good rh.

These three intense all alpha males are swoon worthy. All very different but alluring all the same. The patience and care they take to introduce Ell to their world and help make her a better version of herself had me melting for these men. Granted they don’t take the time to evaluate what’s going on with their own emotions and it leaves them heartbroken and alone. Despite having a strong exterior, Ell has many issues that she is hiding. Although not experiencing a similar past as Ell, it was easy to relate to her insecurities and her reactions to these strong demanding men. Great story with lots of heat and action.

Another awesome read I love this series so it’s got so much things to love mystery, caring doms, steamy parts along with a strong female independent character! The woman really loves her job helping kids through a lot of very hard things and she is good at taking care of everyone else except herself. She reminds a lot about and that’s one the reasons I love this author it’s that this series so far is really enjoyed but also talks about real things that happen or could happen. I’m really happy with how it truly turned out I couldn’t put this book down until I knew how it ended! :) can’t wait to read the next book hopefully it comes sooner than later a keeper for sure:).

To be honest, I was exoecting a read on the darker edge of the spectrum, but this was definitely sweeter than expected. A social worker unexpectedly meets 3 "colleagues" at a BDSM club - 2 cops and a doctor, and ends up exploring a daddy/ little girl reverse harem. The daddy theme was disappointing if there are fans of that trope (I am not a big fan so was not saddened by this), the whole bdsm theme seems to take a back seat and this remains a more conventional real although this is a reverse harem so there is that. Cute storyline, well constructed character, I did enjoy it although some will likely be disappointed by the more vanilla side.

I have found that whatever genre Jayce Carter is writing in, she excells in those departments. This is the second book in dark Sanctuary series and each story is delightful and is also exciting with elements of action and danger.
Elle is a social worker working to keep youths on the right path. She knows Clint, Ethan and fox, but she gets more than she bargined for when she decides to go to Sanctuary. Lights go out and she talks with three men and to her surprise it the trio. And that is the start ofa relationship between the three. But trust is is earned and doubt slowly overcome.

Totally loved this story, its certainly a book that i reccomment to lovers of menage, bdsm.

Jayce Carter has created a captivating story with complex characters, suspense and the added bonus of a reverse harem relationship. Ell is a product of the system, learning to never rely on anyone or anything because it can all be taken away. She has devoted her career to helping kids caught up in bad situations. Ethan, Clint and Fox have worked with Ell, but never saw beneath the exterior she presents to the world until one night at the club when the lights went out. The men were individuals with their own history and quirks. This story was so much more than their steamy relationship. I loved their unique personalities and their doubt that was almost their undoing.

I absolutely love everything about this book. I love all of the characters, from the main harem participants down to Donnie! Ell and her lovers are so charismatic and relatable. I love the depth of character that Jayce created, as well as the unique dynamics that she created for Clint, Fox, and Ethan in relation to Ell. I am also such a sucker for the "training a new sub" trope and the guys did it so well and made even me as the reader feel so loved and valued. Seriously already wishing I could read this book again for the first time.

An Emotional Page-turner
El has had a difficult life, so when Clint, Ethan and Fox step in to help her, all while introducing her to the lifestyle, it’s not surprising she struggles. The men have a past as well, with unresolved baggage. I loved how the men worked together to help/train/woo El, but I was especially drawn into the story when the going got tough. There’s plenty of emotion in this story, but the biggest is relief at how things turn out. A wonderful and emotionally-engaging story that I did not want to put down.

This story drawed you in when Ell decided that she was going to try being in a menage with Fox, Ethan and Clint. They are men that she has had interaction with at work. They all have been attracted to Ell and can't wait to teach her how to let them take care of her. Ell struggles with letting them control her life even as she loves some of the attention. This book really introduces you to the 'daddy' aspect of kink and it is done beautifully. Loved the story.

Whilst I liked the storyline, especially the suspense elements, I found this landed much more vanilla than I expected given its BDSM and RH based. The D/S parts were more around behaviour & tasks which could be viewed as a change to most books which some people may like. The dynamic between the four of them felt very contractual and I missed the romance.
Overall I think it was well written but just not quite what I expected.
