It's a bit weird to read a kinky erotic romance about the mom when the day before you read a kinky erotic romance featuring the daughter. It's not a bad thing, just bizarre and something you don't want to think too much about, LOL. Of course, it would have been weirder if Jesse had been the third with Ella and James like he was with Tess and Cole. That might have crossed my WTF?-line.

Submission is the second book in Lora Leigh's Bound Hearts series and is a direct follow up to book 1. In the previous book, Ella is a repressed, control freak, middle aged woman who is horrified to find out that her daughter is indulging in her darker sexual nature. After a disastrous marriage to Tess's father, Ella has hidden any sexual part of herself. But there's one man who pushes the edge of her control - James Wyman. And James has waited ten years for Ella to loosen her famous control. It hasn't happened and now he's determined to push her to the limits.

I gave this one four-stars, same as the first book, even though I liked the first book better. Three stars seemed to be underrating it. I didn't connect with the characters as much in this one as I did with Tess and Cole. Probably because Ella is a strange character. For all of book 1 and a chunk of this one, she's a total shrew. There's not much at all to like about her. So it's hard to shift gears to her being the "heroine" of the story.

Aside from that, plenty of yummy sex in this one. This is, after all, an Ellora's Cave book where sex is the name of the game. And it's an early Lora Leigh story, and those are much more sex based than her newer stuff (at least what I've read of it). So for any of you looking into Lora Leigh's backlist, keep in mind that the EC stuff is very, very sexual.

Oh, and like the first book, there is also a D/S theme and some bondage in this one. Again, nothing too serious but it's still there. Worth warning people about. Plus there's a sizzling threesome scene. So if any of that bothers you, stay away from this book!

Good short erotic romance, though. Looking forward to reading more of this series!

Didn't quite like it as much as the first. Still the kinky, stick it in any hole sort of read that is Lora Leigh's speciality, but I didn't like Ella. One minute the heroine was Queen of Prudeville the next she was Loosey Goosey, gushing and slurping all over the shop.

The storyline was VERY similar to the first in relation to the sex scenes and dominance and I have a feeling the 3rd book will also be along the same lines.

I forgot to add some of my favourite quotes -
This one made me roll my eyes and laugh out loud. The look on my hubbys face when I repeated it to him was priceless

I like Lora Leigh, but this series is really disturbing to me as a woman. The hero in this story, James is a total A..hole. While he professes to love Ella, he treats her as no more than a body with tight holes for his pleasure. As he told her, his rules, his way or no way. He played on her love and desire for him to bend her to his will, and to me that's like pyschological rape. This series gave me the feeling of being insulting to women in the 1st book of the series, when Tess, Ella's daughter was all but given to the hero to be in a Menage, by her own father, but I thought, maybe it's just me, but after reading Submission, I couldn't possibly take another of these books. The Bound Hearts series seem to be saying, you're submissive and I'm going to make you see that for your own good. Totally creeped out by this one!

I didn't particularly care for Submission...with it being part of the Bound Hearts series and the fact that I didn't care to (or couldn't force myself to) read more after Only Pleasure - my first LL read - was solid confirmation that this series does not do it for me. IMHO, the women in this series are too easily manipulated (or let's admit it, forced) into doing stuff they really don't want to do, and the premise of the entire series (based on the three books I've read - and yeah, I'm admitting to that) is that these women are forced to admit to themselves that they want to be humiliated and broken in order to have their sexual needs met. To top it off, Leigh only makes the HEA attainable when the women give in and let the guy have his way with them in a string of schizo, uber-Dom scenarios that supposedly awakens the woman's repressed sexuality and allows her to "love" him. From resistant to wanton in a handful of pages...that's a bit much for me for stomach.

I thought Leigh would give us an actual story with this new couple (us "readers" having stuck around for another entry after Surrender left us stumped). But unfortunately, Submission followed the exact same path as Surrender - and I mean exact. Both were a plotless series of explicit D/s vignettes with the H/h names' replaced in Mad-Libs fashion: A strong, but flawed woman named _____ is stalked by a possessive, rejected lover named _____ who proceeds to break __(repeat woman's name here)__'s spirit through emotional abuse, harassment and extreme sexual situations. Ugh.

And it continues....in the final portion of both stories, the "hero" brings in a third man to help action a double-penetration on an anal sex novice (c'mon, really?). Then the couple gets married and everyone's happy. Really?

No thanks - will stick to reading about LL's Breeds, who, due to their DNA-altering, provide a heavy dose of reality-stretching that I can at least respect.

The reader can’t help but get caught up in all the sensuality that flows between the couple and the red hot sex scenes including m/f/m, bondage, and anal sex scenes.

The author has created a tantalizing and passionate world that entertains and stimulates the reader’s fantasies. While just a tease, the short romance is full of passion and encouragement as Ella decides if she can indulge in her sexual desires for the man she loves.

Creo que en este caso no estoy siendo objetiva con la nota, James me puede demasiado.
Teniendo en cuenta que la protagonista femenina aquí es Ella, la madre de Tess, me esperaba más dramón y pelea. Pero James es un seductor nato, y Ella no se le ha podido resistir.
Me encanta como a pesar de ser todo poder y control, James tiene también sus momentos de descontrol y de humor, y esos han sido los mejores.
Obviamente hubiera querido que esta historia tuviera más páginas, pero de todas formas no sé si así me hubiera llegado más o menos la relación de los protagonistas. Además, extrañé a Tess y Cole, me hubiera gustado verlos un poco. Aunque la pequeña aparición de Jesse y lo que promete para el futuro me confortó un poco, ja.
Por supuesto, esta ha sido una segunda parte más que recomendable, con sus dosis de humor, drama y erotismo.

I thought this was pretty good, I gave it a 3.75 because it felt a little rushed. Should be read in order, a lot of references to the previous book.

I've wanted to read Lora Leigh's Bound Heart series for ages. Thanks to ebooks I was able to collect the series easily and could read them in order. All the books in the series tell stories of heroes who have a need to share their women with another man. The menage aspects are integral to the stories and are very well done. I've read all 11 stories released to date and have enjoyed them all. If you like your erotica in flavours other than vanilla, you'll enjoy this series!

Relato corto, detesté el título pero me gustó la historia. Y me habría gustado más si desarrollaban la idea central. ELLA (se lee ELA) apareció en el relato anterior como una mujer seca, amargada q odia profundamente a su ex marido, al punto de ofenderse xq la hija de ambos Tess, decide pasar unos días con el papá. Aquí conocemos el origen de su inquina hacia su ex y del porqué armó el escándalo q armó cuando pilló a Tess, literalmente, "en medio" de su primer menage.
En la historia de Ella sabemos q su problema nunca fue la cantidad de gente en el menage de Tess, sino una persona en particular, o quien ella creyó q era esa persona.
James&Ella habían estado mutuamente obsesionados desde antes del divorcio de ella. La razón por la cual no se decidieron a hacer algo al respecto, se supone q es xq ella no puede aceptar la sexualidad de él, pero en lo personal creo q más peso ha tenido el que James sea más joven q Ella.
Ahora, James decidió q ya estaba bien de dormir solo (o no hacerlo con Ella) así q se conpincha con Tess para armarle una encerrona a la mamá, aprovechando q Ella está ansiosa x desagraviar a su hija después de la escenita del primer menage de la nena.
Así q tenemos una trama muy interesante de miedos, traumas y prejuicios, con escenas sexys y candentes, dialogos interesantes y hasta divertidos y un tercero con sabor a chocolate q me encantaría de segundo al mando cualquier día de la semana.

I listened to this book on audio and the voice actor kind of ruined it for me. It sounded like my grandmother reading pornography and just killed the whole thing. There isn’t any plot to this book, it’s just a ton of BDSM and threesomes, so if you are actually looking for a story look elsewhere. I found the main character, Ella, rather annoying. She lacked any depth and was very whiny. This book satisfied the “quick read” I was looking for while I was at work and that was about it. If you want a quick read that’s heavy on the smut, then this book is for you.

Por fin lo he terminado, por segunda vez. Me gusta mucho la serie, con todos los libros que hay en ella porque, aunque sean similares, sí son un buen material para pasar el rato.

Son divertidos y excitantes y, además, tienen personajes con sus más y sus menos, muy realistas.

En este caso se trata de una mujer muy fría a la que la vida ha hecho así, hasta que descubre que no tiene por qué seguir siendo así.

I'm glad to say her writing got better as the series went on. I started reading Bound Hearts mid-way and then went and got the earlier books. This reads like a bad soft porn film with a very repressed woman and a man who "knows what she needs" - ick! It's a no for me and I'm just going to skip Seduction as well, less than a hundred pages for each story makes it short on plot and just sex, sex, sex.

Sexy Erotic Tale of Pushing a Woman's LImits

THE STORY: Ella Delacorte is a woman in her forties who is divorced. Her ex-husband had extreme sexual needs that Ella found distasteful and it ultimately destroyed her marriage. She also has had a thing for James Wyman for over 10 years. Despite the fact that he is younger than her and she knows that he has similar sexual tastes as her ex-husband, Ella has always been attracted to James while being repulsed by her ex-husband. James has finally had enough with waiting and has maneuvered himself into Ella's house and hopes to bring their relationship forward.

OPINION: Primarily an erotic piece, SUBMISSION is focused on the sexual relationship between Ella and James. This novella benefits from the fact that there is more to their relationship than immediate sex. A reader needs to understand, however, that this is primarily a book about exploring sexual boundaries and therefore the focus is on the sex. It did feel a little repetitive, however, when compared with the first book in the series.

WORTH MENTIONING: Content warning for those who care: this book contains a MMF menage scene.

FINAL DECISION: I liked the story which seemed more substantial than the first book in the series, but ultimately the sex seemed less hot than the previous one.

CONNECTED BOOKS: SUBMISSION is the second book in the Bound Hearts series. It can be read as a standalone.

We met Ella in book 1 of this series. Ella is the stuffy mother of Tessa--she is so trapped in her own mind because of her repressed sexuality that she feels she can't have what she desires most in her life-James.

I did have a bit of a hard time at first with Ella being the heroine because she was the holier than thou, sexually repressed woman who was running around calling everyone perverts and interfering with her daughter's sex life. So seeing her in this book as the wanton and horny sub--well, that was just a little hard to swallow. Once I read the the back story of her life with ex-husband, i began to understand her struggle to accept her sexuality.

Hat remains unchanged is the hot and very dominant men. I am looking forward to the longer books in the series. Although I don't feel slighted with the story line, I would like to get to know the characters a little better.

The second book in the Bound Hearts series was not as good as the first. The lead male is once again a dominate sexy male who know what he wants. James wanted Ella even when she was married to another man. Ella is a shy woman who has a hard time dealing with the fact that she wants kinky sex. Ella lets James stay in her house and they start to have a sexual relationship. James pushes Ella to come out of her shell and divulge her fantasies. The sex scenes are smoldering and very detailed. I just didn't like the female lead, I thought that she sounded that a harpy. I also thought that she was a hypocrite; in the first book she is awful to her daughter because of Tess's sexual preferences. Yet she turns around and starts practicing them herself. I just couldn't get past that.

This has to be my least favorite book in the series. Book 1 was about the daughter and in this one, we read about the mother. Quite disturbing... Another thing I didn´t like too much was the fact that James appears in the 1st book as a 3rd and then appears here claiming to have been wanting Ella for the last 10 years. Not exactly credible...

I like the dominance he shows her, all Alpha male, but its weird to see a completely repressed woman, who divorced because she couldn´t handle the hardcore sex, now goes all for it, again, lacks credidibitily.

The book would probably have been a lot better if the main character wasn´t another character´s mom.

Okay – I had several issues with this story. In the last book Ella was a completely repressed control freak who threatened to kick her daughter out of her life for having a threesome with James’ twin brother and at the start of this story she’s happy that her daughter married Cade?

I get that you can marry the wrong person & just not feel for your husband, but to go from prude to slut in 6.5 pages – uhhhh no. I’ll try another one in the series but I’m about to hang this one up.
