They can run from their demons…

The jokester of the demon brothers, Meph wears his grin like armor and uses humor as a mask. But lately, his composure has been slipping, especially around her. Iris. The blue-haired witch with a vicious temperament. Something about her soothes the darkness within him…but he’s not looking for a savior.
There’s no such thing for someone like him.

…But they can’t hide forever.

Bitter and haunted by her traumatic past, Iris Donovan isn’t keen on welcoming demons into her life—even if they’re her sister’s friends. Especially not teasing, tattooed Meph, with his red eyes and devilish smile. After a toxic relationship, she’s sworn off commitment, and she’s not looking for another Mr. Damaged.
Yet she can’t stop craving what she shouldn’t want.

To conquer this monster…they must tame it together.

With the return of a deadly enemy, the pain they’ve been suppressing is exposed, and Meph and Iris can no longer deny their feelings. Before Meph is swallowed by his darkness, Iris must overcome her fears and embrace that terrible part of him…
Or lose him forever.

Demon With Benefits is a scorching enemies-to-lovers paranormal romance with a Beauty and the Beast twist. Featuring a hot-headed witch and a lovable bad-boy demon with a serious dark side, this book has explicit scenes of a monstrous nature that are not for the faint of heart. If heroes with non-human attributes are not for you, ye be warned. As always, there is blood, violence, and so much profanity.

Demon with Benefits by Aurora Ascher is a paranormal contemporary romance and the third book in the Hell Bent series. It follows Iris, Lily’s twin sister (FMC of book two), a snarky, blue-haired witch who tends to ruin everything in her life as a way of coping with her past trauma. Forced to spend time with her sister’s new demon posse, she finds herself especially irritated by one of them — Meph. The loathing is mutual, until one moment of vulnerability shatters their walls and reveals a dangerous, repressed attraction. What starts as “friends with benefits” begins to spiral into something more — something neither of them expected or wanted. But when an old enemy resurfaces, threatening to destroy them both, Iris and Meph must confront not only their feelings but also themselves… because if they don’t, the darkness waiting beneath might swallow them whole. 🔥💔

♡ What I loved most:
• The cozy, found-family vibe always makes returning to this series feel like coming home 🕯️
• The mention of The Tale of Faust was fascinating — I loved learning the origin behind the “deal with the devil” concept from German folklore 📜
• I loved seeing Jacqui (Eva’s mom from book one!) again — such a pure, heartwarming soul. Can she be my “kinda-mom” too? 🥹
• The comedic undertone kept things light and made this such an easy, breezy read 🎭
• The spice was playful yet emotional 🔥
• Chapter titles! I’ll never stop loving them 📖
• There was emotional depth hidden beneath the humor and chaos. These books manage to be both fun and deeply touching 💫
“He didn't know what changed between them in that moment, but he knew something did.
Something profound. He had the sudden understanding that they had just crossed a line that couldn't be uncrossed.”

• Meph truly surprised me. I didn’t expect to like him, but his story hurt and healed me at once. Never judge a demon by his horns, i guess. 😌
“He wondered how Iris would react to his latest piece, the one he hadn't shown her yet, and the image of her eyes getting wide and excited made him feel so fucking happy, it nearly brought him to his knees.
He spent every day with her. He wanted to spend every day for the rest of time with her. He wanted to hear her laugh every one of those days. When he had to make a decision, he wanted her opinion first. His every desire or plan for the future involved her.”

• The ending was beautifully paced — heartwarming and unhurried, letting us truly feel the “after” 💞
• I loved how it subtly set up the next book’s couple — it made me instantly excited for what’s to come! 🥰
• The special edition is absolutely stunning ✨

✘ What didn’t work for me:
• The first half was very slow: daily life, smut, and small bits of drama. It was entertaining but lacked tension and dynamism 🐢

❀ Overall:
Demon with Benefits was an easy-going, heartfelt, and funny read that still managed to explore deep emotional wounds with surprising tenderness. Like the other books in the Hell Bent series, it strikes that delicate balance between light and heavy, humor and heartbreak, magic and humanity. While the first half dragged a little, the rest swept me away in a whirlwind of emotion and warmth.
A story about healing, forgiveness, and unexpected love — told with charm, sass, and just the right touch of demon spice. 🖤🔥

I don't know why I put this one off for so long, because I got sucked in right away and had a great time along the way. This story hits the ground running after the events of book 2. It technically stands alone I guess, but I think readers hopping into the middle would have a hard time given how connected the characters are and the overarching plot. Meph (H) and Iris (h) had an antagonistic vibe for the first part of this book. Meph is the more playful demon with a hidden dark side and hidden pain. Iris is abrasive when it comes to the demons and generally prickly because of her hidden pain. Their attraction was so combustible, even though Iris was frankly cruel to Meph at the beginning. It made it hard for me to like her at first, but she does experience excellent growth through the story. I just wanted to hug Meph for the whole book. The plot at first focuses on these two giving in to their attraction and the challenges of that before moving into the more danger-oriented/suspenseful part of the book. Written in third person, multi-POV, including side characters. No ow drama, slight om drama briefly from h's ex, and neither are virgins (H had been celibate for months and unclear about the h).

I did like how Meph and Iris fit together by the end of the story. How they got from Point A to Point B was a bit of a learning experience and journey. There's plenty of steam involved because of their chemistry and since they start off in a benefits type arrangement, because of their emotional hang-ups. I will say that later in the book, there's some steam that gets more...adventurous ;). While there was a lot of talk about Iris being a witch, she doesn't use witchy powers, since she struggled with them. I loved how Meph is secretly an artist and there were several scenes focusing on that. Meph also has a vicious demon form he never lets out and I don't think it's a spoiler that events do lead to him (and Iris) having to face that side of himself. I actually loved those scenes and thought they were fascinating, sometimes funny, and ultimately sweet.

The side character cast for this series is pretty big with the other demons, the other ladies, Eva's family (from book 1), and vaguely introduced characters we don't know yet if they'll be good or bad. There is an adorable new addition to the cast though in this book, a sweet puppy with a bit extra going on. I would have liked to have seen a scene of Iris with her twin after the climax, that kind of scene I think would have been really great and emotional. There was a scene of Meph with two of his demon brethren after the climax that I loved though.

I can't give away the dangers without spoilers so I'll say the climax was amazing and I was really satisfied with the conclusion of their romance. It's another HFN ending that's really a HEA because they're in love and devoted to each other. There's a jump ahead a couple of weeks into the future that was so good and fulfilling and sweet, with a bit of extra steam. Then the epilogue hints a bit at the next book in the series. I did think there were a bit more typos in this book than I remembered from the first two, but the characters and plot are so engaging, I didn't have any issues staying in the moment.

5 Demons Just Do It Better Stars!

This is the third book in the Hell Bent series and Meph and Iris are perfection. Individually, their souls are fractured from varying degrees of pain but together they burn bright filling the void of loneliness both of them feel. This isn’t your run of the mill paranormal romance that throws all the predictable tropes and conclusions at you but rather offers a tale with so much more depth and twists and turns that kept me glued to the pages. I devoured it in less than 24 hours.

Demon with Benefits is a story of discovering who you are and who you could be amidst a lifetime of self doubt and trauma. Realizing that with every action and decision lays a path of either destruction and upheaval or admirable success and self acceptance. A story about choice and having the courage to accept the inevitable and trust what you’re able to change.

What I loved most about this story is the self reflection and growth Iris goes through. I related to her on so many levels. She wasn’t the damsel in distress or the woman with the kind and caring disposition. Iris wasn’t meek. She was imperfect and acknowledged that her nature paved the way for barbed words and judgments on others despite not actually meaning them. Her super power was deflection but she had enough humility to admit when she was wrong and attempted wholeheartedly to make changes.

"'Don’t worry.’ She smiled faintly. ‘I’m yours too.’”

Meph was definitely a little unhinged and misunderstood…believing the worst in himself and shutting down the parts that people needed the most. He was like an onion (cliche I know) and the more you learned about him the more you not only understood why he is the way he is but also admired the sentimentality that he placed on people and things. He pretended to not form attachments when both him and his demon craved something of their own. I loved seeing Meph come to terms with his feelings for Iris because it was so authentic and dare I say…sweet. It was hard not to love both parts of Meph…him and his demon. His demon was hungry and fed off fear but for Iris it was hungry in a better way lol.

"'You so much as look at another guy’s dick, I’ll rip it off and make that fucker eat it.”

Speaking on Meph and Iris…well the two of them were hotter than hades between the sheets and don’t even get me started on THE TONGUE. IYKYK.

For two people that avoided emotional arrangements, they sure did have a passionate and possessive bond. Iris and Meph acted like they brought out the worst in each other but it was quite the opposite. Their relationship and journey was the perfect storm that sucked you in, battered the soul and left the land lush and green instead of devastated. Aurora writes sexual tension, chemistry and steam in her own unique way, infusing true emotion and connection in each interaction and coupling. It’s not a small thing when an author is able to make the reading experience tangible.

"'Look at you, all spread out for me’. His voice was gravel. He shoved her shirt up to her waist, spread her ass cheeks, and dragged his fingers up the center of her pussy. ‘You’re so wet for me, and I haven’t even touched you yet. Fucking love that.’”

As I’ve said in previous books, the world building here is multi-layered and fantastic. I love that we get crumbs to a bigger picture and I was so happy to get glimpses of Jacqui and a certain pot stirrer that is only out for himself (looking at you M). I’m still quite obsessed with Belial and I am salivating to get my hands on that grumpy and ragey demon. Finally, I loved the understated humor in here that had me laughing and was a nice reprieve from the angst. If you love steamy and thoughtful PNR, then I highly suggest this series be added to your TBR list. I loved this.

Meph.

King of Jerks. Duke of the Douchebags. Father of all Fuckboys. And the one demon I have been certifiable trash for since book 1. My boy finally gets his chance to shine, and, of course, Aurora absolutely delivered! I could not be more happy!

First things first: the banter and snarkiness in this book had me cackling like a madwoman on multiple occasions, and my absolute favorite aspect of this series remains the dynamic, chemistry, and camaraderie between those demon boys. That found-family goodness never disappoints, and it's made all the better by the fact that each of these characters are so vivid, likable, and just damn funny. I absolutely vibe with this brand of humor and the quick witted back-and-forth between Iris and Meph or Meph and Raum (and Belial). Just so many great moments that left me smiling.

Second: prickly Iris managed to grow on me, although there were definitely moments when she lashes out (usually out of a subconscious way of emotionally armoring up) that are rough to sit through - but that's the thing with this particular pairing. You're dealing with two very emotionally damaged individuals with just mountains of unprocessed trauma. I won't go into the particulars, because spoilers, but needless to say, Aurora manages to craft a very satisfying emotional journey for both Iris and Meph as a couple and as individuals characters. I laughed. I teared up. I wanted to kick in people's teeth a time or two. But by the end, I left this book happy and contented, which is the best way to finish a book.

And as for the romance: things get kinky and freaky, which I am - of course - absolutely here for...

In short: another solid installment in the Hell Bent series. I can't wait to get my hands on a paperback copy of this baby because like its predecessors, it has earned a spot on my shelf. A satisfying, fun, spicy, heartfelt read.

I have been waiting for Meph's book ever since I read the first book in the series and fell in love with this lovable man covered head to toe in tattoos. He is quite literally exactly what I described to a friend a few years ago as my perfect romance hero - scary looking on the outside, cuddle bug on the inside and will protect the heroine at all costs. Throw in good humor and amazing sexual abilities, and you basically have the ultimate romance hero. I would also like to add that he has been my book boyfriend since Book 1, my loyalty has never wavered, so if the universe would like to reward me with one of my own, I would be grateful...just saying.

Iris Donovan has no interest in another failed relationship with a man. She has the worst taste in men, picks ones that are not worth the effort, and she is determined to only keep things casual from now on. And who better to keep things casual with than the hot demon friend of her sister's mate, Mephistopheles, or Meph for short. Meph is dangerously attracted to Iris, a witch with an attitude, and he jumps at the chance to let off steam when he's gone without sex for so long. The chemistry between them is hot as hell, and it doesn't take long before they are all over each other. Night after night they rock each other's world, and then return to their normal everyday lives...still horny, still very much determined to not make this a permanent thing. But when things become more serious, things take a turn for the worse, and the feelings they have been suppressing may be the only thing that will ensure they make it out alive.

Iris was the perfect match for Meph, even though at times I wanted to shake her. Because girl, if I had the chance to lock that man to me for life...you better believe I would do it. Both of them had past trauma that kept them from being comfortable sharing their feelings, which led to some tension and most of the focus being on their physical relationship. It was an absolutely amazing moment when their feelings started to emerge. Aurora Ascher did a phenomenal job showing the physical effects of realizing you're in love. There's shock, panic, joy, despair, confusion...all of these things run through your head at once, and these two emotionally constipated people had no idea what to do with them. I always have loved Meph's softer side, and I think it complemented Iris' tough persona so well. She had this wall up around her heart, and he dismantled it brick by brick without even realizing it. It took a lot to get her to the point where she recognized that her feelings for him extended outside the bedroom, and once they did, oh boy did things get interesting! Hearing more of Meph's backstory, seeing how he processed his feelings through his art, and the acceptance of his inner demon form was a journey I won't soon forget. I was in love before, so I don't know what this new emotion I'm feeling is called, but it makes my heart warm and fuzzy. If you weren't sure about Meph before, you'll want him after reading this book.

But you can't have him, he's mine, I saw him first, hands off. I KID...sort of.

As always, I leave this book wishing the next book was ready to jump into! I am excited for Raum's book up next, and the heroine is really intriguing to me. Should be an epic tale of forbidden love. I can't wait!

Demons With Benefits is book three in the Hell Bent series and can be read as a standalone. What happens when you put a smartass, sexy demon and a mean-girl with a never ending attitude together? They build an uncontrollable sexual tension and then when it explodes, it EXPLODES and OMG! 🥵 Meph and Iris are complete opposites and constantly argue. He is a drop dead gorgeous demon who is a jokester and full of never ending sarcasm while Iris is annoyed and in a dark place from previous traumas in book 2. (My Demon Hunter) Iris is Lily’s sister and is over the whole demon thing. I’ve said this before, but I usually struggle to like the FMC in a book, and this one was no different. I was annoyed it took her so long to get over her “swearing off demons,” because we love Meph!

Demons With Benefits was funny and entertaining while still having great character development and a plot. It’s been a while since I eyeball read a book and I’m so glad I did because this one did not disappoint.

This entire series has been a fun adventure however, I think Meph and Iris might be my favorite.

Do I recommend? Yes

This is book three in the Hell Bent series, and while I haven’t read the first two (My Funny Demon Valentine and My Demon Hunter), I still really enjoyed Demon with Benefits. That said, I do think reading them in order would help you feel a bit more connected to the larger cast and backstory. Still, you can definitely enjoy this one as a standalone!

This story follows Meph, a demon who hides his pain behind humor, and Iris, a hot headed witch who wants nothing to do with demons or commitment. Both characters are emotionally guarded and dealing with trauma, so when sparks start flying, they agree to keep things casual: a no strings attached, friends with benefits situation. Of course, that doesn't last long.

The chemistry between them is intense, and I loved watching their dynamic slowly shift as they started to actually care for each other. Their banter is fun, the steam is high, and there’s a lot of heart beneath the surface. Meph especially surprised me there’s so much vulnerability behind his cocky grin.

The romance leans into monster kink and paranormal tropes (yes, there are claws, fangs, tongue 😂 etc.), so if you’re into spicy monster romances, this will hit the spot.

I’ll definitely be going back to read books one and two!

I received this ARC, thanks Hambright PR. I also received the ALC, thank you to RBmedia, Recorded Books, for the advanced copy!

I really enjoyed Kirsten Leigh’s narration. She brought the characters to life so well and captured their emotions perfectly.

I would say this book is my favourite of the series!

I absolutely adored Meph and Iris. And Meph’s terrifying, monster of demon who scares even the the Dukes of hell—— CUTEST!
How I loved the scenes with him. I’ve said this before, there is something childlike and innocent in this rowdy bunch of demons. They were the best. A little insane, alot devious, loyal, powerful, funny as hell … I just love them.

I loved the dialogues, monologues and banter. Not only between Meph and Iris, but Meph, Belial and Raum together was hilarious. I was laughing throughout the book at their antics and dry humour.

I’m a fan of this author’s writing style. What I loved the most was she didn’t humanise or change the demons. They were demons from hell with all those characteristics and features and stayed that way. And the heroines still accepted and loved them.
Fabulous characterisation too.

So excited for Raum’s book next.

Definitely recommended.

Demon with Benefits by Aurora Ascher

This series is so much fun to read! I think this book had more plot and action than the previous ones, which kept me even more engaged. Iris is a total badass witch with her walls up, but I loved watching her slowly open up to her little demon. Their dynamic was great!

I was also lucky enough to receive the ALC, narrated by Kirsten Leigh. The narration was fantastic, full of emotion and really well performed. It added an extra layer to the story that I really appreciated.

Also, random thought: since the main character has blue hair, I was low-key wondering why this book wasn’t the blue one in the series instead of book two. LOL

Thank you to NetGalley, RBmedia, Recorded Books, and Kensington Publishing for the ALC & eARC!

Iris and Mephistopheles. Meph is the sweet ADHD puppy dog you will come to love and Iris is a prickly rude bit... you get the point. Iris' character was designed to develop and be likeable towards the end. I can see it but nothing made me like her anymore. I stuck around for the demon boyfriends... not Iris. I can't wait for the next one to be released.

This book chewed me up and spat me out; I felt emotionally worn out and so so happy at the end. Yes, that juxtaposition is purposefully done and an perfect representation of my feelings. Iris and Meph are perfect for each other.

I have been following this series since day one and knew what to expect when I started it:
- Found family
- Wit and humour
- Strong heroine
- Hot demons

What else could a girl ask for? Well, I got more than I bargained for (pun intended). Within about 10%, my heart was wrenching for the characters. They say so many hurtful things, misunderstand each other and get in their own way of their happiness. We have a big, fat HEA but man-oh-man was it a JOURNEY!

Plot:

Iris feels lost. Her twin sister has found her witchy powers and her soul-mate; she is totally happy. Meanwhile, Iris has no idea what to do with her life and feels completely inadequate for the first time. To top it all off, the infuriating demon, Meph, keeps flirting with her.

Meph is tired- tired of having to put on a face and act nonchalant when he is traumatised and hurt. The easiest way to deal with his issues is by teasing Iris, the human he has the hots for.

When the two finally kiss, we don't get sparks- we get EXPLOSIONS! The smut is off this world. Aurora has done an incredible job at merging traditional PNR with modern Monster Romance. Think 'tentacle tongue' and you'll know what I mean.

My thoughts?
I loved it!

This book deals with insecurities and commitment issues that sometimes felt too close to home. But that made it all the better. I couldn't stop thinking about this book for a few days after finishing it. The characters end up being so vulnerable on their journey to growth and it felt like a small privilege to witness it.

Ascher has blown it out the park once again and I can't end this review without applauding her.

I received an eARC in return for my honest review.

Review:

Meph and Iris have so much combustible energy between them that this reads like watching fireworks. Both of them are emotionally stunted so watching them acting like noobs when it comes to their feelings for each other was cute rather than insufferable. The spice was my favorite part, they had so much smoking chemistry together. An absolute masterpiece!

He just wanted her. Not just her pussy. Not just sex. But her. All of her. Everything about her. And he wanted it forever.
This is marketed as a standalone, and I picked it up under that impression. But it heavily references events and incidents from book two, not so much book one, so you actually don’t have to read book one, but I feel like you do need book two. Since I’ve only read book one and skipped two, a lot of the reasoning behind why Iris is the way she is is missed because it all comes from book two, and that was a disservice to me as a reader.

𝙎𝙮𝙣𝙤𝙥𝙨𝙞𝙨:
Demon with Benefits follows Iris Donovan, a bloodborne witch. Iris and Mephistopheles (Meth) have always had a hate-filled relationship. They get on each other’s nerves constantly. And since her sister is dating Mishetsumephtai, this means she’s now frequently forced to hang out with the five demon "brothers", since Mist has kinda "joined their group". Both of them secretly think the other is ridiculously hot, though. So they make a deal: scratch that itch, no feelings, no strings, just sex when they want it. Obviously, we all know how that trope goes... someone’s going to catch feelings.

𝙏𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙁𝙚𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨:
For a lot of the beginning, the plot didn’t really feel like it was there. It was mostly the two of them having sex. A LOT OF SEX... that it felt like that was basically the plot for quite a while.

Though the sex between Iris and Meth is explosive. It’s fast burn, hate sex at its finest. There are some elements of demon play (well almost beast play), but honestly, most of it is fairly vanilla. The plot itself is easy to follow when it finally appears in the book. Though it is a bit predictable, however you can overlook this and just have fun with the book as the writing is engaging enough to keep you hooked.

Iris struggles with guilt over the decisions she made in book two that we’re just "told about" and have to believe since AGAIN I DIDN'T READ BOOK 2. She’s battling with her life choices and trying to reconcile her long-held hatred of demons with the reality of her sister’s relationship with a demon and now her own attraction to Meth. As demons killed her parents, she’s got a long-standing stigma against who they are, and so has to work through a lot of baggage, realising that not all demons are as bad as she thought...

The demons in this series are basically cinnamon rolls. Even though they were morally dark in their past lives, they’re trying to make a difference and be better. It’s cute, sweet, and adorable to see how gooey they can be. They’re unapologetically themselves, though, often with a blasé, can-do attitude, but they also don’t always understand human ideals, and it's actually funny to see how they try to "blend in and assimilate".

Meth, though, is hiding. Outwardly, he smiles and jokes, but internally, he’s suffering from past trauma. He expresses that through his dark art, but he’s ashamed of it and afraid to share it. The more time he spends with Iris, the more he learns to accept himself, including the demon side he’s tried to bury... almost like a Jekyll and Hyde split. But through her, he learns to accept that darker half and, embracing it. He becomes a more complete person because of her.

𝙏𝙧𝙤𝙥𝙚𝙨 and 𝙈𝙞𝙘𝙧𝙤 𝙏𝙧𝙤𝙥𝙚𝙨:
▶ Demon Romance
Enemies Dislike to Lovers
▶ "Out of our Systems"
▶ Forced Proximity
▶ Fast Burn
▶ Tattoos
▶ Rolled Sleeves/Forearms
▶ Made Up Words
▶ She's a Witch

OVERALL, it might not be the most plot-heavy book, but if you want explosive sex and chemistry, cinnamon-roll demons, and a whole lot of fun, this one delivers!

Meph is the jokester in his group. He is always smiling and having a good time, but underneath that exterior is a complicated demon with a traumatic past. Unlike his brothers, Meph, doesn't want to find his happily ever after. He doesn't need that from anyone. But then he meets Iris and everything changes. The problem is she may be as broken as he is just in other ways.

Grumpy-sunshine paranormal romance. Iris was a little difficult to like at times. In the previous book in this series she kept big secrets from her twin sister and in this book she is dealing with the guilt associated with that choice. She's also trying to navigate her jealousy regarding her sister's powers, as well as the unwanted feelings growing between her and Meph. I really liked Meph's character arc. He grew a lot. Iris grew too; she became less of a bitch, but she was also more emotionally stunted than he was. Overall, I enjoyed the story, and I liked seeing these two characters working together, and I also enjoyed seeing what happened to the characters from the previous two books.

This is the third book in the series. It can be read as a stand alone, but I recommend reading them in order.

Edited - I was so excited to receive the ARC of 'Demon With Benefits', book #3 in the Hell Bent Series. Aurora Ascher's latest addition brings us another look into the heart of her version of the "misunderstood monsters, redeemable anti-heroes and epic happily-ever-afters", that we have come to love in this found-family of Hell Bent misfits. This is Iris Donovan (Lily's twin sister) and Meph's (Mephistopheles) story.

I found 'Demon With Benefits' to be a fast read, even though my tablet says it was over 340 pages, yet it could have been even longer. There is just so much history and backstory in the group that you want to know. I loved the glimpses we have of everyone, their friendships and growth are amazing, and I adored the newest addition, Faust. I definitely want Meph's POV of that story (Faust). Lol

Meph is the youngest member of the group and Meph's past is horrific, obviously... Hell. Add Iris's past traumas, anger, guilt, dating history, prejudices (against demons) and her internal conflict and you get a couple that need love and, each other, so much. Emotions and emotional connections are not strong points for either of them and with their overall disfunctional/toxic tendencies; Meph's sarcasm, Iris's unpleasantness and you get an Enemies to Lovers vibe. It is hard to read at times, Meph's past is heartbreaking, but it has a HEA.

I love this found family so much. How their love and friendship enriches their lives and helps them heal. Additionally, I love that art plays a continued part in the series, be it music, cooking or physical mediums. Any issues I had are truly just personal preferences. Aurora Ascher's story and characters have me invested in their story and future.

I look forward to reading the next book, 'Guardian Demon' , which is to be Raum's story. Then Belial's story, which I am really looking forward to. Obviously with Belial's past and terrifying powers, any future love interest will need to be someone who really pushes his buttons, but ncan hold their own and not be afraid to love him completely, as an equal. I get the feeling that Suyin has a much greater story too, possibly with Belial or maybe with Murmur?

'Demon With Benefits' is out on May 24, 2022.

--------------------------------
I would like to thank Aurora Ascher for reaching out and sending me an ARC of 'Demon With Benefits' in exchange for my honest review.

Demon-with-Benefits-1

Demon with Benefits blew me away!
*****
Rating: 5 Meph & His Demon get all the Stars
Steam: 3.5 Good heavens that tongue flames
Genre: PNR / Angels & Demons / Monsters / Enemies to Lovers / Broken MCs
Triggers:
*****
Meph and Iris are two broken souls with more baggage than any one person… or demon should be forced to carry. Iris, plagued with the guilt of her parents death and a thirst for revenge that is all encompassing. Meph… dear sweet baby demon… he has been through literal hell.

Iris and Meph's banter had me chuckling one minute and wanting to punch someone the next, and the filthy dirty talk… goodness, I thought I was having a hot flast at times and Meph's inner dialogue with his Demon was PRICELESS!

This is a fascinating, humorous, steamy, and emotional book. The heartbreaking journey to Meph's HEA will not disappoint and. Meph, in my opinion, deserves the happiest of all endings.

Demon’s with Benefits was well written, creative, and featured fantastic characters and world building. The characters will worm their way into your heart and make themselves at home there, especially Meph…and Raum…and Bel…and Ash…and Mist… who am I kidding all these demons have taken up residence in my heart.

This author has made me fall in love with another monster/demon…and I am all in for the duration, one-click! I absolutely can’t wait to see what happens next and this is a must read romance / series that gets all my recommendations!

READ THIS BOOK! You won’t be disappointed!

Did I stare at this cover for waaaaaaaayy too long with hearts in my eyes? YUP.

Did I love this book because I’ve been obsessed with demons lately? All signs point to YES.

Did I thoroughly and deliciously enjoy this because Meph is a sexy AF alpha demon with the best sense of humor, a huge heart, and tattoos and piercings…everywhere? Chances are very good the answer is DAMN RIGHT.

Even with all the seriousness of this story, there were still plenty of humorous tidbits strewn throughout that lightened some moments. (I LOVED THAT!) Add in a cute little (not little for long though) heIIhound pup and I was a goner.

The snarky banter between Meph and Iris was so entertaining. The sexual tension when they were near each other was so thick and strong, I swear it made my kindle vibrate with excitement. Or was that me doing the vibrating…

This delicious demon romance snapped, crackled, and popped in all the ways…the perfectly wonderful ways…the I’m-feeling-lust-in-my-loins way. SERIOUSLY.

I don’t want to play favorites and say I like Meph the best out of all the demons, but he is pretty damn spectacular. He checks all my boxes and he DOES IT FOR ME. Intoxicating and irresistible, protective and passionate, and a big ol’ squishy, just-wanna-be-loved teddy bear on the inside.

Vivid descriptions in this book had me feeling like I was there. Like I could see, hear, and feel everything that was happening. I was living and experiencing this story. And that made me a very happy demon romance reader.

I am DRUNK WITH DEMON DESIRE.
And I am ready for more. So much more.
Bring on Raum.

"You make me a better person. I've never laughed so much in my life as when I'm with you. You might think you're some dark, demented beast, but to me, you're a ray of goddamn sunshine."

I was lucky enough to not only read but also listen to the audiobook. The narrator, Kirsten Leigh, did a fantastic job portraying the characters.

The relationship between Meph and Iris is full of tension, banter, and chemistry, which made for a fun, steamy read. Iris hated to love Meph.

They have both been through so much trauma. It's truly a story of healing with a fresh start for both of them!

I loved the fact that Meph wanted a motherly figure and therefore spent so much time with Jacqui. Their relationship was full of mutual caring and shared interest in art. I also appreciated that Meph has no control when it comes to speaking his mind.

My favorite part will forever be the relationship the brothers share. They care so deeply about each other but struggle to show their emotions properly.

Review of Demon with Benefits (Hell Bent #3)

I absolutely loved this book! Meph and Iris were such a fun pair. Meph makes the perfect book boyfriend with his charm, heat, and that irresistible morally grey vibe. The chemistry between them was steamy in all the right ways, but the story also had surprising emotional depth, plenty of humor, and fast-paced storytelling that kept me hooked from start to finish.

The dialogue was sharp, the spice hit just right, and the pacing never lagged. I adored the chaotic cast of side characters (give me more of them, please), but honestly? The real star of the show was the adorable hellhound puppy. I was obsessed.

This is the third book in the Hell Bent series of interconnected standalones, and while this was my first one, it definitely won’t be my last. Sexy demons, witches, humor, spice, what’s not to love?

Huge thanks to Hambright PR for the gifted ARC. I highly recommend this one to fans of fun, fast-paced paranormal romance!

Honestly, this series keeps getting better and better!

Meph & Iris have officially skyrocketed to the top of my favorite couples list. Maybe it’s because I was already invested from the earlier books, maybe it’s just because they’re too funny, too damaged, and too sweet not to love wholeheartedly ♥️

Book 3 in the Hell Bent series felt a little more character-driven than the first two—the overarching plot took a backseat while Iris and Meph did a lot of internal work. Iris’s larger-than-life energy is dimmed by secrets, and Meph, goofy and aloof on the outside, hides so much pain inside. Together? Pure magic.

And while the plot threads connecting the whole series were a little “quieter” here, it still sets the perfect stage for Raum’s book (and I cannot WAIT 😍). Who will be his love interest??? Sunshine?? What’s he forgotten and why?? I just know his story will be huge for the overall plot.

✨ 5 STARS.
This series has me hooked from page one, and even though I got ARCs, I have to buy the physical editions—these books are just too good.

I liked Meph from book one he is just that golden retriever energy. And the tattoos oh my god the tattoos! So hot!!🫠I was so excited to finally read his story.

Iris was always an interesting character, she had deal with a lot of issues and she needed to and she did it in a healthy way. Like the guilt over her parents dying!

I like that they showed that progression in the story and that the two with the emotional issues are put together, it it fits in a way that that shouldn’t fit, but it does it works, and I think it’s what makes this this book works so well.

They love each other demon and witch and everything in between!

I can’t wait for the next one Raum! So stoked for his brooding story!! 👏

This is by far my favorite one so far in this series 😍🔥 I have been looking forward to Meph’s and Iris’s story as I have always been a big fan of Meph from the beginning of book 1!

I’m so honored and glad to be part of Aurora’s Hellbent Hellions team and this series just keeps getting better & better!

Meph is so swoon worthy and I love the dynamic and relationship growth between him and Iris. I just absolutely love Meph because he is so sarcastic and just brings the best vibes 😂 You got lots of good banter in this one especially the moments with Meph being so flirtatious. You can def see the attraction between these two off the bat as you read and Aurora has such a good writing style where she grabs your attention right away where this turns into a page turner! I couldn’t put this book down!

Not only is the banter and spice good in this book, but Aurora does well balancing this with the plot as you experience the trauma and healing aspects in this book between characters. It’s like you grow with them and you can even relate to some of them in here to where it really touches your soul in the best way possible.

The raw emotion, the humor between the brothers in here is everything, and the paranormal universe Aurora creates in her books is pure gold! This epic romance is one you will want to get a hold of and add to your TBR immediately! I honestly cant wait for the next book and big thank you to Kensington Books and Aurora for an early copy of this masterpiece! Forever grateful to be part of your team! 🥹❤️🫶🏼

Some of my favorite moments/quotes:

“You love it. I can tell you’ve always wanted it but never had a partner who was man enough to stand up to you. That pansy earlier would have cowered under your stare, but not me.”

“Watching you scream threats at me just turns me on.”

“You’re my hero. My knight in shining armor. I fucking love you.”

I really don't think I'm going to have the appropriate words to describe how much I absolutely loved this book.

Everything about this read was 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Meph and Iris were EXPLOSIVE. The chemistry, the intensity and the unbelievable ability to make you want to go back and re read an entire scene just because it was so hot 🔥 🥵. Steam is sizzling (don't think that is physically possible but hey hell fire was involved sooo we are going with it)

I know I can be an emotional person at times, but damn this book hit all of my buttons. I smiled, I laughed, I giggled... I was frustrated and anxious, mad and upset, sad and touched... But through it all I couldn't put the book down and sooo I ended up reading the entire thing in under a day.

When I read the other books, Meph was not someone I really connected with. I wasn't waiting for his book like I am currently waiting for Raum's. BUT Meph has officially gained a soft spot in my heart just for him. He is such a misunderstood bad ass demon who you just can't help but fall in love with. He wears his humor as an armor to hide all the darkness and sadness in him. Getting to know his artistic side then seeing him evaluate his feelings and try to understand them and then finally putting them into words... just amazing. He is such a tortured soul and because of this his demon and him had to learn to be one again. Oh and lets pause a sec and discuss his demon. Holy hotness grim..where have you been. Oh and the tongue!!! (Total venom vibes which made things that much better). Overall his journey was truly amazing and I will be re reading this again very soon.

Iris is not my favorite female in this series. I definitely think her sister has so much more to offer, but I can understand why Iris is the way she is. Her snarky attitude and temper is her armor and she hides herself just like Meph and because of this they make one heck of a pair. She also goes through an amazing self transformation and finally understands who she really is. Her realization of how much she cared for Meph was amazing and it was refreshing to see a character go for it vs playing it cool.

Oh a totally side note... I need more of Murmur... yes Murmur!!! There is just something dangerous and delicious about him and I just need to know more.

2nd side note.... Dan and Jacquie had me in tears. I am soooooo happy that I got to read more about them. This has been killing me since book one and I just love them. Oh and Jacquie's motherly relationship building with Meph was absolutely adorable.

Thank you Aurora for this awesome ARC. You have done an outstanding job with this book and series. Love it and cannot wait for more!!!

I recommend anyone who hasn't picked up this series to get right on it. You won't be disappointed!!!

The newest installment of the Hell Bent series, Demon With Benefits, is Meph and Iris' story and gives us a more in depth look into the world of demons and a sneak peek at some angels.
Meph has been one of my favorite characters from the beginning. Here we get even more of his signature light hearted comedy but we also get to really know who he is. His backstory is heartbreaking as so many comedic characters are. Meph falling for the broken witch Iris was a perfect fit. Iris too has a heartbreaking backstory. As she is Lily's twin we go into this knowing how her stubborn, prickly personality was formed by their past. Meph and Iris have explosive chemistry and it makes you root for them the whole book.
There is a lot more of the politics and history of Hell in this book. You get just enough that it makes you crave more. We also get little snipits of heaven which I am very excited to see more of.
Absolutely loved this book, cannot wait for the next.

So this is the third book in the Hell Bent series. During this series we follow a few demons who broke free from Hell and decide to continue their time in the mortal world. In this third book we follow Mephistopheles, who is called Meph by his friends. At first Meph seems to be the typical douchebag fuckboy, but with a little heart and a passion for art. His human form is completely covered in tattoos, which can come over quite intimidating. But not at all to Iris, a witch whose twin sister got involved in demonic relations. Of the demonic brothers, Meph is considered the joker, using his funny face as a mask for what lies beneath. And Iris is the blue haired witch with quite a temper and a traumatic past. And has also had her fair share of toxic relationships.
From the moment they met, there has been sexual tension between the demon and the witch, and at some point, the need to scratch that itch overcomes everything and the two agree on a friends with benefits situationship. However, the two of them might just exactly be what the other needs…

Just like the rest of the series, this was really funny. Reading this book was like watching another episode of tv trash romantic comedy, which was exactly what I needed. In all honesty, the writing isn’t that good. But sometimes it’s just really nice to turn off you brain and just enjoy the show. I think I could compare this book series with the tv show Lucifer, only with demons and an pleasant amount of spice. While reading this book, I definitely chuckled a few times. There’s a bit more action going on in this book compared to the first two books. Normally I like that, but this time I had a bit more trouble with getting through that. That might also be because my romcom mood was a bit oversaturated.
Overall I enjoyed this book. It’s perfect if you just want to turn your brain off, read some spice and have a good laugh.

Now I also listened to the audiobook version of this book. I think the female narrator has a very pleasant voice. It was also nice to hear how the full demonic names are pronounced. One thing that bothered my a bit was when there was a POV switch. The whole book is in third person with several POV’s. Sometimes the POV switch wasn’t too clear for me. At those times I prefer a female voice for female characters and a male voice for male characters, so I can follow it easier. Another thing I noticed is the inadequate use of an Irish accent. The FMC, Iris, is of Irish decent and sometimes I heard a bit of an Irish accent, but most of the times it was American. I would have preferred to hear more consistency with the accents throughout the audiobook.

I’ve been waiting for this one and it was SO worth it!

I have been ferally anticipating this read, because let’s be real—Mephistopheles has been my problematic fave since book one. And bébés, Ascher delivered. Not just delivered so much as kicked down the door with spice, snark, and a chaos-gremlin level of heart that left me cackling and clutching my chest in equal measure.

Meph and Iris brought absolute menace energy. 🥹 Him, a demon who literally snacks on fear like it’s popcorn at the movies. Her, a witch so snarky she could probably hex you with her sarcasm alone. And together they delivered banter so sharp it could cut glass, plus chemistry hot enough to make hell look like an icebox.

Don’t get me wrong— this book was hilarious and filthy in all the ways I love, but it also went deeper. Fear, trust, belonging, self acceptance/forgiveness, fear of vulnerability, dealing with grief, and mental health rep… all those messy little themes lurking under the surface like monsters under your bed. And I was here for every unhinged, spicy, heart-grabbing second.

Ascher just has a way of making this whole band of weirdos feel like family— you laugh with them, cry with them, and maybe even want to brave attempting to draw a hellgate and summon them (if only for the free cocktails and bare witness to the hilarious chaos first hand).

If you’re craving a dark romcom that’s equal parts laugh-til-you-snort, swoon-til-you-sob, and fan-yourself-til-you-overheat, you will definitely love this book and series.

Another amazing book in the hell bent series . I was waiting to see my favorite demon get a girl and get to tell his story (the fact that his girl is like an Irish version of me made me grin even more ) I mean I absolutely love the way iris and meph talk to each other . The spice scenes are my favorite of the series by far and I think I know where the next one will lead …. At least I hope 🤞🏼 but man meph was the demon I craved to know more about and to see the stories intertwine and the characters evolve from side characters to main character. Iris is lilies twin sister from the last book . The way the villain in mephs life is also iriss villain . The way they get a HEA is just chefs kiss . I’m so ready to read the rest of
This series it will definitely be auto by for me. Meph covered in tattoos with his silly little attitude. I was just waiting to see his demon form and man did it impress. I was so stuck on this book. I went the whole 12 hour book maybe pausing a couple times I couldn’t stop reading it. This series is delectable. The spice is amazing. The storyline is so intricate and the way every story follows. The next is just perfect. I cannot wait for the next one to come out and I will be waiting for September for my guardian demon. 😈

This series has seriously has become one of my favorites. The humor is top tier, the spice is soooooo delicious, and the story is so fun yet addictive. I also love the fact that it ends with another brother being set up for the next book.

This one, hands down has been my favorite so far. I absolutely loved Iris and Meph’s relationship. I knew they would deliver with the banter and they definitely delivered🤣 These books are the best if you want a cute yet semi dark quick read with the best spice that monster smut has to offer.

The story ultimately revolves around 5 Demon brothers and how they are navigating being on earth after giving Hell the big F U and leaving it behind without a second thought. They really are hilarious or quirky in their own way and I seriously cannot wait to read the next one, and to see where the rest of the series goes!
