Dark static touches a tough subject, Quantum physics in a way that it does not become boring. It is a fast paced read, finished in a couple of days.
Ethan is given dangerous tasks to perform. But those tasks aren't that simple. To do them or not to do them involved courage and an understanding of the universe.
At times, the writing felt a bit juvenille, especially with the metaphors used. While one wants to find if Ethan succeeds or not, the not-so-interesting metaphors take away from the reading pleasure.
The brief moments that touch life and death also didn't sit right. But then they are the writer's imagination. I believe there could have been more to it.
Rest of the novel is a cool thriller with well established scenes and not too many plot holes.
I mostly enjoyed reading it, but will I read it again? Probably not.

The story is suspenseful and fast-paced. Kept me on the edge of my seat. The writing is excellent and there were a couple of great twists I didn’t see coming.
Jawbone is a lakeside town nestled in the wooded mountains. Ethan Dusk has just clawed his way out of a dark period following the death of his wife. Now he finds himself caught up in the machinations of a sinister individual named Judea Locke, bent on using him as an instrument of destruction. As Judea Locke's influence over Jawbone grows and the fabric of the small town's civility dissolves, Ethan must work together with old friends and dangerous new allies to overcome the evil engulfing Jawbone.
If you're a fan of suspense and spooky atmosphere, this book won't disappoint. It really reminded me of Dean Koontz at his best, and I can't think of any other author that I can say that about. Five stars!

This book was enjoyable and I did like the way the characters personalities intertwined. The book started off slow and used words I had to look up but I kept going. I would recommend this book to my friends and family.
The characters were realistic, and I particularly liked the close knit friendships. The plot was interesting and held my attention, but I found the story dragged in spots and took a bit of time to get into. I was fortunate to receive an advanced copy from BookSirens. I would give it 3.5 stars out of 5
