Seth Walker était mon premier amour et j’avais juré qu’il serait mon dernier. Même après qu’il ait déménagé durant notre dernière année de lycée, nous avions juré de nous retrouver après avoir obtenu notre diplôme. Mais quand il a rompu soudainement sans explication et qu’il m’a brisé le cœur, c’était à mon tour de fuir.
Après dix ans de service dans la marine, je suis finalement rentré à la maison, prêt à reprendre ma vie en tant que nouvelle recrue des pompiers de Hobie. Malheureusement, à la minute où je pose les yeux sur le nouveau shérif de la ville, je sais que je suis foutu. Le meilleur flic de Hobie n’est autre que Seth Walker.

Je pensais faire le bon choix quand j’ai quitté Otto Wilde il y a dix ans. J’avais tort. Je pensais aussi que je pouvais revenir à la maison sans avoir à faire face à mes erreurs passées. J’avais tort à ce sujet aussi.
Ce sur quoi je n’ai pas tort : Le fait que mon cœur s’enflamme dès que je pose les yeux sur cet homme. Le fait que je ne peux pas imaginer ma vie sans lui. Le fait que les choses sont toujours aussi compliquées maintenant, qu’elles l’étaient à l’époque. Et le fait que j’ai beaucoup de chemin à parcourir si je veux le reconquérir.
Au moment où les choses commencent à chauffer entre nous, un pyromane en série frappe et les soupçons se resserrent. J’ai déjà perdu Otto à cause d’un secret il y a longtemps, il est hors de question que je laisse une autre menace faire partir notre avenir en fumée.
Parce qu’Otto Wilde est à moi, et je n’ai pas l’intention de le laisser repartir.

I'm going with 3 stars because the Wilde family is a lot of fun; the sex was, uh, wild (come on, I'm hilarious and you know it); the HEA was all kinds of cute; and Lucy's writing is always accessible.
What brought my rating down is the utterly ridunkulous martyr behavior exhibited by both MCs.
Seth sacrificed himself at 18 to raise his brother's baby and . His parents were helping, and he was a kid. He also had a boyfriend he loved, AND he was gay! But he stayed in this situation for TEN YEARS!
Ask yourself: WWJD?
And the answer is: not that! No one is that selfless. Seriously.
Seth cut off Otto with no explanation for a decade and broke Otto's heart yet barely apologized. They had like one conversation about it. Their reconnection was instant. They immediately trusted each other and were in love. It was too much, too fast, and I didn't buy it.
And Otto, who's a fire fighter WTF? How dangerous and foolhardy is that, not to mention illegal! Also STUPID, very, very stupid.
I found parts of this book so unbelievable and frustrating, I considered removing another star, but I didn't want to be mean, especially since I enjoyed the other two books in this series and am dying to read Hudson's story.

Once again Lucy Lennox delivers in a majorly fantastic way. Wilde Fire is the third book in the Forever Wilde series, so at this point you should already be familiar with the amazingness that is a Lucy Lennox book, but if somehow you have not yet had the pleasure, then you absolutely can start right here and have yourself a wonderful time falling in love with her men and her writing. I do always recommend starting at the beginning of a series because you just get so much more out of it that way, but if you're really wanting to start here then I know you're still going to have a good time and you're going to end up going back to the beginning at some point anyhow :) Her men, I mean her stories, are just that lovable and that good. One of the many things I love about Lucy Lennox is that her writing is consistently good. She writes fast and she's put out a lot of stories in just a bit over a year, but they are always top notch, well written, true quality stories. I have laughed and fallen in love with each new book and each new couple. And not just the couple as a couple, but I fall in love with the individual MCs for themselves. They all have their quirks, and endearing qualities and are just upright, lovable, witty, smart, fun, fantastic men. And along with the consistently good writing is the fact that each story is its own. They're not just cookie cutter cut outs of each other but with different names of the MCs. They are each new and fresh and unique unto themselves. After twelve plus novels I have never felt like I've read the same story twice. Except for when I am in fact reading a story for the second/third/fourth etc time. Although each story contains the elements needed to push my five star requiring buttons, they each have a different feel. Some are more steadily just fun and happy. Others have a bit more angst and heart squeezing feels. But they all always have an overall good feeling, with laughs, fun times, sweet moments, and daydream fueling sexy times. Wilde Fire is a perfect third book in this second series. It's a little "older", a little deeper, a bit more angst and struggle to get settled and enjoying their HEA. I just loved this so much and I'm very eagerly looking forward to the next story in the series. Or really just anything else that Lucy Lennox writes!
Would I re-read? A big YES.
Did I fall in love? My heart is so big and full because she just keeps giving me more men to fit in there :)
Was it worth the money? Definitely. Despite already having a free copy to read and review if I wanted to I still paid full price to "own" the story. It must be on my "bookshelf".

Lucy Lennox has done it again... I have now read a lot of her books and enjoyed each one immensely. This book was no exception. Her story-telling is top notch and her characters become so real you fall for them every time. This story was exceptionally good, the first half deals with the rekindling of Walker (Seth) and Otto's relationship after not seeing or communicating with one another for 10yrs. The second half the book covers the investigation into several arson fires and how it impacts them being together. I felt this book came very close to perfection. Otto and Walker are not only adorable, but also 2 amazing individuals. Of course I loved getting to see the extended Wilde clan especially West and Nico and also a nice update on Felix even though he is not actively a part of the story. I read this book in one sitting because I just could not stop reading it. I have only one part that I felt did not ring quite true and that was the fact that Otto decided unilaterally to cover for the arsonist and take the blame. I'm sorry but the fact that he did this without consulting Walker knowing that he might be in jail for 2yrs if he takes the rap and how severely it would hurt their relationship kinda says to me he is not the mature adult he appears to be. He should have trusted Walker enough to be honest with him and THEN they could have made a decision TOGETHER about how to handle things. By not being honest he ended up treating Walker as less than adult and unable to handle it himself. Yes it was a given that Walker would be hurt knowing the truth HOWEVER he is an adult and the Sheriff. This issue was never discussed or dealt with once the truth came out and it sorta made it feel like less of a HEA than it should have been.

Well, i liked it more than most of my friends, so maybe it is Me! not the Book!
There is something about Lucy Lennox's writing and Michael Pauley's narration Combo that just sucks me in and leaves me with a huge grin when i am through. She gets a pass, she is my crack.
-I loved both the MC's even with their stupid martyrdom syndrome.
-The sex was hot as always after all it is LL. The woman writes some scorching scenes.
- The arson plot was ridiculous but to my surprise i didn't care about it. I was just rooting for Otto and Seth to make it.
- Doc and Grandpa are amazing parents, and it was nice to catch up with Nico, West and Pippa.
Overall i enjoyed it.
I already love Hudson so i know i am going to love his story. 🤗🤗

There’s a lot wrong with this book which is usual for Lucy Lennox at this point. The formulaic writing is getting old and a little insulting actually 🤷🏽♀️
Like how much more man pain, trauma, abuse and blah blah do we need in these books and “gay running in your family” is not exactly something I wanna hear in any book.
Also let’s DeNarrate Michael Pauley because I’m tired 😫 (I’ll see y’all when I love to hate the next in the series).

As much as I wanted to love this story (the way I did the other books in this series), the truth is that this one, sadly, often left me exasperated rather than satisfied.
This story had so much going for it, it really did. Lennox’s writing style continues to be smooth and accessible, and she (generally) creates characters I truly adore and writes love stories that make my heart full and happy, which will always ensure I keep coming back for more.
But (there’s always a but)…
There were simply too many moments in this story that made me want to punch a wall. And let’s be honest, no one wants to be reading a book by an author they highly rate and come away from it wanting to punch a fricken wall, repeatedly!!!
I won’t go into specific details, but let’s just say that the main characters, Seth Walker and Otto Wilde, played the martyr card one too many times… each! The initial set up alone, where these two deeply-in-love childhood sweethearts were broken apart for ten years because of ones (preposterous) self-sacrifice for his ass-backwards family, was already a major no-no for me and one I really struggled to get my head around the entire time I was reading. Then, as the book got going, just letting Seth and Otto be all happily reunited and madly in love wasn’t enough, Lennox had to go and throw in an absurd arson plot into the mix, one in which poor, foolish Otto became the main suspect because he was determined to play martyr to protect the true culprit.
Truthfully, this whole thing made me feel like a shitty human being because I would never, ever, be so selfless and destroy my own happiness time and again for people who were not worthy of my love and sacrifice. I think, maybe, I was meant to find both Seth and Otto’s selfless behaviour throughout the book honourable and perhaps touching? But if I’m being honest, the only word going through my head at these points in the plot was IDIOTS! I just couldn’t believe that anyone would be noble enough to make the choices they did – and again, I feel like an asshole for reacting this way, which isn’t a fun feeling.
And I can’t even mention Seth’s family without wanting to punch more of those poor innocent walls I was talking about earlier. Can we just pretend these selfish assholes didn’t enrage me with every single word of bigotry they spewed? Yes? Good. Let’s move on…
You should all remember at the start of this review when I said the nice things, because that’s all still true, too. I like to think the good always outweighs the bad, and that was certainly the case here. Even though Seth and Otto were begging me to head-slap them a time or two with their pesky altruism, I still really liked both of them a great deal. Their romance was scorching and the once-in-a-lifetime love they had for one another bled off the page and held my heart captive. It was actually kind of epic in the romance feels, when I really think about it. The letters that opened each chapter (and provided gut-wrenching insight into their time apart) really gave the story and the romance that extra oomph I needed to believe in the love Seth and Otto shared. Love really does conquer all, thank goodness.
Three books into the series and I’m still as in love as ever with the lovely members of the large and boisterous Wilde family. Putting all the other bullshit aside, when the Wilde characters were on page, I was happy and content (and usually laughing and/or crying). Although this particular installment to the series was not my favourite (for even more reasons than I stated above), this series in general is one I thoroughly enjoy and look forward to continuing. As long as Lennox churns them out, I’ll be gobbling them up – that’s a promise!

My favourite Wilde romance so far
This one just ticked all my boxes - hot emergency service personnel, friends to lovers, second chance romance, small town setting, loads of passion.
I have to say as a whole I've found the Forever Wilde series to be really strong reads with great characters and a brilliant setting, but without the overly familiar and, at times crude, humour of the previous Made Marian series.
There's still the odd moment here but generally this family set-up just works well and I enjoy finding out more about life in Hobie, Texas.
Otto and Seth were such a gorgeous pairing, their childhood friendship and love playing an important role in bringing them back together and allowing them the depth of love to move past long ago hurt.
The secondary plot was also well done, I was patting myself on the back thinking I'd identified the wrong 'un only to catch on that I'd been cleverly led down a misleading path.
I loved the kids in this one, again age appropriate and not miniature geniuses, and I even came to have a soft spot for Jolie and was happy with where her story went.
Now I'm dying to get Hudson's story, as well as the rest of the Wilde men.

2.5 NOT rounded up
I have liked every book I've read by this author until now. I believed in how much Seth and Otto loved each other, and they deserved their HEA. All the rest of the bullshit was just that...BULLSHIT!😤 There were just too many plot points I hated, and too many people in this book I wanted to throat punch! It was maddening and disappointing to me. There were certain things about their situation that really bothered me, but I won't give any spoilers. That's it. However, this doesn't dissuade me from reading her other books. Like I said previously, I've liked most of the other ones.

Everyone knows I love the Wildes and the previous two books in the series but the last 15% of this book made me ragey.
For starters, WHO in their right mind will be willing to go to jail, not only for a crime they didn't commit but also to "save" and "protect" someone's feelings. Especially when this same person who's feelings was supposedly being "protected" would've reported the guilty party in the first place? Hint: Ottowa Hubert "idiotshould'vebeenmymiddlename" Wilde that's who. Idiot. Idiot. Idiot. 🤦🏾♀️
I was so annoyed/pissed off/ frustrated with that line of reasoning that it took a whole star rating away from this book. It was just unbelievable and the fact that Lucy Lennox seriously wanted me to see it as the "ultimate sacrifice" of some sort just made me want to bang my head against a wall repeatedly. Ugh.🤦🏾♀️
Speaking of "sacrifices", I felt what Seth did to Otto was inexcusable. He could've done the correct thing of telling Otto about it so they could've both taken care of it rather than breaking things off & appealing to his family who wouldn't know how to be decent humans even if it hit them in the face. But nooooooo, he had to be the freaking matyr. 🙄
Another issue I had was how Otto seemingly brushed 10 solid years of distance,silence and heartache under the rug without facing any of it head on. I know they never stopped loving each other but I felt their time apart wasn't given the weight it deserved, wasn't discussed as it should've and was just neglected for the "O look! we're finally here now , the past doesn't matter & you still look hot as hell so let's have plenty of monkey sex and take it from there" schtick. That approach was such a let down and clearly unrealistic. In no real relationship would it be handled that way simply because, a decade apart from the love of your life MATTERS DAMN IT . 😡
In fact, out of our two MCs, I do not know who I wanted to shake more. No wait, I know. Otto deserves the crown. Well, I guess this just goes to show how well suited they were to each other. *eyeroll*
Aside from all the shenanigans of the MCs and the arsonist, I pretty much enjoyed getting back in touch with the Wildes who are crazy and loving in equal measure. The writing was great, the secondary characters were just as great with the pacing, tone and everything. I just LOVE them and I need to be an adopted Wilde guys. They're just awesome.
Would I pick up another book in the series? That's a trick question right? Rampaging horses could NOT keep me away and apparently the next is Hudson's book? Although this book has a few cute moments, there is really no way to escape the fact that this book is completely nonsensical and frustratingly stupid. Most of this book is just.. incredibly dumb.
Here's my little rant of some of the stupid things that can be found in this novel (SPOILERS):
Seth randomly deciding to marry a woman while he's in love with Otto? stupid
Seth deciding not to let Otto know why he is going to ghost him for ten years, even though there is no reason for him not to? stupid
Seth staying married with a woman for TEN YEARS while he's GAY? stupid
Otto joining the navy, even though he does not want to be in the navy whatsoever? stupid
Otto choosing to go work on a submarine while having a history with claustrophobia? stupid
Otto immediately forgiving Seth without even so much as an explanation for disappearing on him? stupid
Seth playing happy family with his parents and brother even though they're homophobic as all hell? stupid
Jolie thinking Seth is suddenly no longer gay because she is into him? stupid
Otto being accused of being an arsonist even before there was any kind of proof? stupid
Otto being willing to take the fall for John as well as Hal (even though both have fucked him over big time), which would result in him having to go to literal JAIL? stupid
Otto not only refusing to throw either John or Hal under the bus, but also wanting to literally confess to a crime he didn't commit... because.... reasons??? stupidddddd
Otto and Seth having sex 24/7?? Well.. Not really stupid I guess, but damn.. definitely hella boring and repetitive.
I think if there is one thing I have realized, it is that this author has absolutely no idea how the law works. It's 'innocent until proven guilty', not 'guilty until someone else is proven guilty'.
Thus, there was literally no reason for Otto to play a martyr.

Ok, so here is the thing. If Lucy has written it I have read it, well, save for some .5's I just haven't gotten to yet. Point being, I look forward to reading her books. She writes books that I am interested in and about people I want to know.
I just don't always love them.
I did not love this one. I did not like the setup for this one and I feel like I am normally alone but I don't think I am this time around.
This was not believable, this was not ok, and this is not what I want in my M/M romance.
If only people were so selfless in real life.
I liked the rest of it. I wanted these boys to have a second chance, they seriously deserved it. I don't know if I feel like after ten years it would have been that easy but hey, that's romance right?

Yikes
This book was so frustrating. The side characters were infuriating but even worse were the main characters who were spineless doormats.
The romance was more of a boring side plot than a main story line.
Hoping book 4 is better...

I needed something sweet, hot and funny, so of course I turned to the Wildes. 😍
3.5 stars. This wasn't my favorite and I definitely had some issues, especially the ridiculous self-sacrifice that Otto was attempting to pull off. But the Wilde family as a whole and Hobie, TX made it work for me and I still enjoyed it. I was happy that Seth and Otto got their HEA.

Estoy muy en la minoría, pero me ha parecido infumable. Hay libros de los que espero un entretenimiento fácil y me vienen muy bien porque están en el KU, este sería uno de los casos. Pero me he encontrado con un culebrón con situaciones increíbles, algunos diálogos con un tono de drama que leía con un ojo abierto y un ojo cerrado, y para rematar hay momentos en los que me he aburrido.

A cop and a firefighter?!
Yes, please!
Okay, well actually a Sheriff and a Navy firefighter but you know what I mean.
I love a man in a uniform.
I love besties to boyfriends.
I love second-chance romance.
What I didn't love was the whole marrying his deceased brother's pregnant girlfriend.
Yeah, that wasn't necessary. And for ten years?! TEN!? Come on Seth. He could have been supportive and taken care of Jolie without having to marry her.
There's a certain sense of responsibility with all first responders...they make sacrifices every day and prepare for the possibility of the ultimate sacrifice.
But this whole bloody martyr deal was too much.
I wasn't a big fan of Jolie. I liked sweet Tisha and was so glad she referred to Seth as her Uncle. That helped smooth my ruffled feathers over that part of the plot.
Otto and Seth were the perfect pair.
After a decade apart, they come together seamlessly. It could have been easy. It should have been easy. But their family drama continued to derail them.
I was grateful they finally opened up and shared important things like adults.
I was thrilled with the ending.
They were sweet and tender and oh-so-fecking-HOT.
I would not recommend this one as a stand-alone...too much presence from previous couples.
But I would recommend it!

I usually wouldn’t rate or write a review for a book that I DNF, but I feel like I’ve spent quite a significant amount of time trying to read this series, so I’m counting it all together as reading one of them. This series apparently really isn’t for me, since lots of people love it, but I can’t seem to actually care about the characters enough to read the whole thing.
In the first book, I couldn’t get past about 37%. Nico was judged SO MUCH right from the start on his appearance. It was annoying. I get that they were mad that he disappeared from his family and town, but he was literally being bullied the last time we saw him, and clearly the town wasn’t that accepting before. With the second book, I couldn’t really get past the first chapter. I just didn’t really care. And with this one, I got to about 34% and I didn’t want to continue because they were already together and in love again and there was still so much of the book to read? I didn’t like the instant forgiving/sex scene after TEN WHOLE YEARS of silence and without discussing any of the conflict between them. I really did like the beginning with them as teenagers, but idk I wasn’t feeling it between them as adults with all the other circumstances added in.
I also don’t understand how, in a town literally FULL of gay people of alllll ages, not only is there a significant amount of homophobia in the first book, but also things like this about a female deputy:
"I knew she still caught hell working as a sheriff’s deputy in small-town Texas with the unforgivable trait of being a female."
So I’m supposed to believe that in “small-town Texas” people are perfectly fine with their doctor being gay, their sheriff being gay, the bakery owner being gay, the fire chief being bi, their old doctor being gay, and nearly every other Wilde being gay, along with TONS of random characters being super out and proud, but they have a problem with a woman being a deputy???? Obviously it would be amazing for a town to be that accepting of everyone’s sexuality (and I’m sure that there are places like that) BUT WHY WOULD THEY ALSO HAVE AN “UNFORGIVABLE” PROBLEM WITH A FEMALE DEPUTY??? That one line bothered me so much. It just doesn’t make sense in a book like this where so many other things seem to be incredibly accepted.
Anyways I respect everyone who loves these books because they do have cute moments, they just really weren’t for me. I tried.

Cómo todo libro de este autor, la historia resultó sencilla, dulce y sin mucho drama. Las escenas eróticas con toques de humor, y una gran familia de apoyo. Me gustó el prota Otto, pero Seth me pareció muy plano. Sin embargo la trama es fácil de leer y entretenida, seguro leeré otros libros de este autor más adelante.

Cute story with an unnecessary side plot and two sometimes annoying MCs
Here’s the thing. I’m not overly fond of second chance romances, but when they’re well done, they can be really good. And with “well done” I mean a lot of grovelling, or at least a believable way how they got together again.
Here, there’s none that. Seth Walker and Otto Wilde have been inseparable as kids and teens, and in love with each other for ages. Then, things happen and they don’t see or hear from each other for 10 years, mainly because one of them decides to be a martyr and doesn’t clue the other one in as to why he’s breaking up with him.
Then they meet again and are all over each other in 0.5 seconds.
I mean… why? How? Their feelings obviously haven’t changed a bit and without talking about what happened, they’re all over each other.
And yes, they’re cute together, and I loved the letters they wrote to each other during the 10 years they’ve been apart, even if many of them weren’t sent.
But martyrdom… uh. And it doesn’t stop there - during the book, history repeats itself and now the OTHER one is the martyr and doesn’t clue his partner in.
It’s… well. Stupid. Because while I could forgive a 19-year-old teen for that, I’d expect more from an 28 yo.
Oh and another thing: while I like MCs who show their feelings, these two cry A LOT.
Thinking of it, I’m not sure if I shouldn’t grade it down to 2 stars, but it seems awfully harsh for a book that’s written as well as this one. So yes, you have annoying plot lines, and MCs behaving stupidly, but Lucy Lennox knows how to write a good book that makes you immerse yourself in it.

2.5 ⭐️’s really I wish I could say I absolutely loved this book but unfortunately it was frustrating as hell. The instant forgiveness Otto gave Seth was ridiculous, I wanted some fire or drag out fight but got nothing. Seth’s whole family was a joke they all were selfish, hateful and homophobes. Seth needed to get a pair of big boy pants and tell they all to go to hell which he mildly did later on with his parents but his brother and ex wife still had no respect for him or his life.
Otto needed a serious back bone, everyone seemed to walk right over him!! This was so frustrating to read and not want to shake some sense into Otto 😩!! He just seemed so compliant with everything going on, I get he wanted to protect Seth but seriously he was going to put his and Seth’s life on hold because of a punk that didn’t give a shit about what his actions were doing to their life and Otto was all about sacrificing his career, integrity in their life together!
Jolie Seth’s ex wife who Seth gave everything to outright lied about Otto, implementing him with starting a 🔥. Nothing was ever said about that, life went on like it didn’t happen! 😡 Oh, the fire chief wouldn’t you have thought he would have had your back instead of trying to pin the fires on you?!? Yes, perfect I’d want to go back and work for him🤯. So this was a mixed bag for me. I love second-chance romances that go back to high-school first loves so the story started off great for me. I was so happy when the two reconnected without any game playing regardless of their long separation. Otto and Walker had a great connection and I wanted things to work out. I also wanted to see them reconnect more on an adult level, including having some of those hard conversations about where life had taken them over the past 10 years. Some of these were glossed over and it was more like they just picked up where they left off at 18 - having lots of sex and not a lot of talking and hashing things out. I wanted them to have to work a little bit at getting things right.
At some point, the plot took a turn into the unbelievable. I can't fathom Otto's choice and to me, it didn't make much sense or ring true.
I loved that Otto and Seth were so in love, but I wish I had loved it more.

As with all of Ms Lennox books this was an enjoyable light-hearted story of childhood sweethearts having a second chance at love. I liked all the characters both main and secondary. Wilde family is as wild and funny as ever! Both MCs are sweet, a little bit unsure at times and very likeable. The book has two parts - one about MCs coming together and the other about what happens after that. I liked the fact that every chapter started with a personal letter to each other - it allowed me to delve deeper into characters and to really know them. All in all it was a lovely book but not my favorite. In the second part the identity of the culprit was so obvious, plus there was a little bit too many everyday activities that I had a strong desire to skip some pages. Otherwise, a very solid story with well-developed characters! I will definitely continue on with the series!

This was yet another fantastic addition to the Wilde series. This story is pretty much told in two parts - Otto and Seth coming back together after many years apart, and then the mystery and excitement of an arsonist in town and blame being laid on the wrong people. I couldn’t put it down! Seth and Otto were just wonderful together, and as always, there were many side characters that added interest and humor to the story.
Can’t wait for the next book. That last line! Ha ha!

Although this one got me emotional which usually guarantees I'll rate it highly, the story itself was just so frustrating! It's a theme with the Wilde series apparently, where every book annoys the life out of me!
I can't stand martyr type characters, I just want to shake them 😤 plus if you're letting a kid get away with serious arson then you're telling them their actions have no consequences - I'd turn my own kid in in a heartbeat if he was that reckless and stupid!!
I feel like this is a completely different author from the Made Marian series!

I love this series, so what happend?
It begins with inta-forgiveness. Something like: "I was so angry at you for the last 10 years, but now I'm just so happy to see you - lets forget the past!"
I thought about skipping this book, but I loved the first 2 books, so....
But than at the end Otto, the firefighter, covers for an arsonist and thinks about going to prison for him. Why? It seams to be okay to burn down a house, when you're angry and sad. WTF?!

Dissenting review, so please don't hate me...but come on, this was so over the top. I just made a pact with myself not to spend my precious reading time on books that I'm forcing myself to finish, and that was exactly the case here for me. I know many of you loved it, and I'm so glad you did. Most of the plot, at least as much as I read, just wasn't believable.

It's an okay book.
If you have nothing better to read this will do it, the smut was a little to much for me, I don't really like insta lust, when a character just met someone and is like:
"his lips make my **** hard"
I'm like : seriously? That? Just thinking about is lips? Man, you're pretty easy to excite.
This is one of those books I will end up re-reading because I will forget about the fact that I didn't like it that much and I will focus on the cute stuff so I'm predicting this and if I indeed read this book again I will buy myself some chocolate because after I disappoint myself again I will really need it.

Wilde Fire is the reason I started reading the Forever Wilde series and I have enjoyed the first two in this series but this one not so much, how disappointed am I.
I expected a Sheriff and a Firefighter to be tough and sexy but I found Seth and Otto to be weak and sappy, they both often had tears in their eyes, I don't like cry babies they are a turn off.
I did not like their first meeting either after ten years what they did and then the twist that was just NO.
Don't get me wrong I enjoyed the story getting to know them and the mystery with the arsonist which I guessed and spending time with the rest of the Wilde family was a hoot as always but I just did not like them as a couple too whiney.
I did not think much of the Walker family either Seth was gay but he was supposed to stay with Jolie, his parents were selfish and a thank you from Seth's brother to Otto would have been nice considering what Otto was willing to do for them SELFISH.
I got to the point after about 45% I skipped the letters at the beginning of each chapter and I even skimmed the sex scenes I just wanted to get to the end.
I liked the epilogue that was funny.

I love Second Chance romances, but I'm a hard sell with them too, especially when forgiveness is necessary. I require a lot of groveling, and that was definitely missing here.
Told in a dual POV the story begins with childhood sweethearts Seth Walker and Otto Wilde reuniting after more than a decade apart.
Ten years. Ten years since I'd last seen the other half of myself, the boy I'd loved since I was eight years old and had fallen into the pond between our properties.
There's very little explanation on Seth's part at first for cutting off all communication with Otto. Personally, the reason for their separation, which includes a whole lot of miscommunication, was problematic for me.
The chemistry between Seth and Otto is extremely apparent, but it just seemed that Otto forgave Seth very quickly and Seth got off a bit too easily (ha! No pun intended). The romance seemed to rely far more on Seth and Otto's young love, and the hot and heavy sex they have now they're reunited, rather than the development of the character's romance and their reasons for being together now. There just wasn't enough page time given to them getting to know each other as adults with all their baggage.
My biggest issue with Wilde Fire is, put simply, I am not a fan of ridiculous martyrdom behavior. First Seth's leading to their initial separation and then later Otto's in order to protect the arsonist.
Regardless of my personal peeves, this is a pretty intense and entertaining story. The suspense surrounding the arson was interesting and incorporated well into the rekindled romance. I love the supporting characters, and there's enough humor to simply make me a happy listener.
Wilde Fire was an entertaining listen. Michael Pauley uses distinctive character voices, which is impressive considering the large cast in the story. I found it an interesting choice on Pauley's part that even though both characters were raised in the same town, he doesn't use the same accents for both men, instead Seth's accent was more northern sounding, while Otto remained with a harder southern accent.
Recommended for those who like a Second Chance romance with lots of passion, a suspenseful side plot, a great supporting cast, and great narration who don't mind some miscommunication that's cleared before the HEA ending.
I'm really looking forward to Hudson's story and spending more time with the Wilde clan!
