This isn’t supposed to be my life. This isn’t how any of this works. And if magic keeps screwing me over, I might just have to take matters into my own hands.
When new a friend comes knocking, needing help across the country, I throw myself into the opportunity. It’s better than staying here and dealing with my problems. So, it’s off to Laurel Cove for me and my two non-murdery mates where we might make a shitload of enemies. Or life-long friends.
Can I accept Drago as my mate? I honestly don’t know. But I guess we’ll find out.
You’ll love this why-choose romance because everyone loves a morally gray hero.
Get it now. But be warned. There’s lots of steamy sexiness and some very dark themes including blood, gore, and an attempted SA.
Jewel Killian writes spicy paranormal romance in lots of subgenres but generally sticks to the different flavors of reverse harem. Monsters, omegaverse, fae ... who knows what's coming next but you can trust it'll melt your kindle and make you wish you magic was realy.
The climax was confusing. Willa didn't really know what was going on so I didn't really know what was going on. I didn't really care about anyone who died.
I definitely think this relied much more heavily on being a crossover with other Killian books but as I haven't read them it was pretty hard to be interested in anyone outside if Willa's pack.
I appreciated the hard work put into reforming the big scary from book 1, I certainly love some big scary dudes who go all mushy for their mates.
Might still read book 3 if it's based on the mountain.
Why am I like this? Why do I fall in love with the crazy murderous one? Please someone let me have my own Drago! He completely takes the MVP of the guys in this one. Willa is such a great character too. She feels so real to me. Jewel Killian is one of the best at making me feel the emotions of the characters. It’s why I always read her books and recommend them to others! This was such a good book and I’m excited for more.
Once again, Jewel Killian has put out an incredible story belonging to her North American Supes Universe. This is the second installment in Willa’s story and I absolutely devoured it. I love that it’s not only an Omegaverse, but the pack also has delta’s and sigmas. And of course, I loved seeing familiar faces from past stories reappear and help out Willa and her men.
Speaking of Willa and her men, I absolutely adore them all but probably Willa most of all! I loved the growth and the way we got to see her check herself when moments got tough. I loved seeing the vulnerability and strength Willa shows.
And Drago! He’s incredible oh my god! I’m so glad he’s apart of the pack and I’m excited to see how everyone relationship develops in the next book!
🌶SPICE rating time!
Sexual Tension: I didn’t feel TOO much tension and honestly, so think this book might be the quickest to get to the spice in any of the other books I’ve read by Jewel Killian, I loved it! 🥵
Penis/Pussy: 5/5⭐️’s loved all the dirty talk mentioning, cocks, pussy, and knots (oh my!) ex.: “Fuck, Willa. You look so good getting your pussy eaten by your sigma.”
Intercourse: this book contains knotting, threesomes, oral, rough sex, and more multiple times throughout
Communication: the dirty talk in this book (especially from Drago holy smokes) was absolutely exquisite and ate it up
““I take what’s mine, Omega. And you’ll love every second of it.”
Erotic/kinks/trope: Praise, threesome, a smidge of voyeurism I’d say, “he’s going to tear me he’s so big moment” Omegaverse/knotting, fated mates, villain gets the girl, why choose romance
Overall: one of the spiciest books in the series yet: 🌶🌶🌶🌶/5
DNF. Ick. The first alpha makes her promise that he'll be the head alpha and that she'll never be with any of her other alphas without him in the room with her because he's jealous and immature asf. That's after he left her when she finally got together with her third mate, and looked at her with "disgust" when he finally showed up again and she just brushed it off when he started acting like her mate again shortly after that bc he was finally talking to her.
He's also the only one she's bonded to, and she has to tiptoe around his explosive emotions anytime she has interactions with any of the others. The second alpha is just a comedic accessory at this point and the third alpha seems like he'll fall into line with whatever the first alpha wants despite being like 5 times stronger and smarter. Let's not forget that the second alpha (he's a sigma but that just means he's whatever she needs at any point in time) knotted her in book 1, but now that the first alpha can actually knot her without magical consequences, the book acts like she'd never been knotted before, and it was also the most out of body experience she'll ever have. Why does she even have other mates at this point? It's very clear that the first alpha is the most important/most cherished/closest/in charge/whatever, and that shows in all of their interactions too.
Also why are they at this random pack preaching to them about the way they do things? Why is this the storyline? This did not need to be multiple books. I'm done with this series.
This is the second book in The Healer’s Pack Series, and just as the first one, I loved it. The storyline and characters are awesome and it keeps you entertained throughout.
Willa is a great FMC, in my opinion, she is very relatable in a lot of ways. She has so much self doubt and such low self worth, and she refuses to believe in herself. She really is trying to change, but she manages to cause herself, and others, so much pain and makes things so much worse for herself because of these self deprecating behaviors.
Willa’s mates are fabulous. I loved the relationship developments we get to see in this book, not only between Willa and her mates, but between her mates themselves as well. I couldn’t pick a favorite guy if forced, I mean seriously, how could you pick just one? From the major ALPHA personality, to the loving and adaptable jokester, and then we have the big scary that has some MAJOR hidden surprises! I mean honestly, who wouldn’t want one of each?
The storyline for this book picks up right where book one left off. I loved how the storyline evolves and I adored how some of my favorite characters from another of the author’s series were such a big part of this story! I really love a good shared Universe.
I will definitely be excitedly awaiting book three. I cannot wait to find out what come next for these fantastic characters and their story.
The book picks up right where the first book left off. We get to meet yet another one of Willa’s mate. One she isn’t quite fond of. More like, terrified of really. He’s intimating as heck and here we thought Alpha Rafe was bad. Drago is just on a another level.
With everything that has happened recently, Willa is quite overwhelmed and decides she can’t deal with Drago. She foolishly believes having them be apart will be best. After all, she’s still trying to see how her newly established relationship with her existing Alpha & Sigma will even work.
A situation arises, where they are asked for their help with another wolf pack. Traveling far away without so much of a warning to waiting Drago, comes at dire consequences. In the midst of it all, trusting Willa quickly finds herself in a dangerous situation, and when she desperately howls for help, the mate that rushes to the rescue is the one she least expected.
In this journey, Willa not only begins to find herself and channel her powerful lineage, but she comes to see misunderstood Drago for who he is. In doing so, she refuses to deny their mate bond which would put him in everlasting misery. But will accepting him as a mate put her existing relationship with her other mates in jeopardy?
Picking up right after book one, we find Willa back in the mix of things, learning her roles, teaching her twin and handling two mates.
Why is it every time a supposed villain is introduced, I fall for him? I am a complete sucker for the angsty, morally grey antihero and Drago is it. Don't be surprised if you find yourself falling in love with him too, because how can you not?
I absolutely loved Willa's character and the relatablity the author gave her. She's juggling multiple things, trying to find a happy medium with everything and everyone, and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Her men, Rafe and Jonah also add to her plate, unhappy that she has another mate, but still wanting to make her happy.
The story is still interesting and I wasn't sure if I would remember events from the previous book to understand this one quickly, but I was wrong! The author picks everything back up and gives you some reminders about the previous book to help the readers ease into this one. I will say that the pacing is on the slower side, but overall I've loved the story so far.
Willa and her crew are back for the second installment in The Healers Pack series. This series is set in an Omegaverse, but with little twists (or embellishments even).
There is quite a lot of character growth going on in this story, and this applies to several members of the cast. There are some fairly deep moments to be found here and I really enjoyed the progression of each of them.
I also found quite a lot of humour in the book. I especially love the chapter titles! I can’t decide my favorite between ‘if thoughts were bees, I’d have a ****load of honey’, or ‘even bottomless pits get nervous’. They set the tone for what’s to come so well.
This story rates highly on the spice meter. Let’s just say, Willa and her fellas aren’t shy.
There is also some violence to be found, along with a topic that for some readers may be tougher to read about. If you think this might be you, I suggest having a quick look at the authors warning section.
There is one more installment in The Healers Pack series to go and I’m looking forward to it!
Thank you to Jewel Killian for my copy of Wolves of the Rising Moon. All opinions expressed are my own.
Willa teaches us a valuable lesson in the last instalment which is not to judge a book by its cover. She also goes through a lot, she must discover who she is without the healer mantle. Everyone is uncomfortable and anxious when things change and things change immensely for our Omega. But she's a fighter, she's always fought for everything she has and her strength of will is inspiring.
Wolves of the Rising Moon also introduced a few cameos from the author's previous books and it was so great and such a shock to see them all again.
There is a lot of heat and steamy scenes in this book, so much so you could almost see it. Our favourite Omega must now deal with a third mate but before she tries to work out how to add him to her harem she must first accept him. Her new mate Drago has a dark past but not all is as it seems with him.
There was a small darkness element which highlights how different Willa's pack is to others. Nevertheless it drew me in and kept me engaged until the end. A fantastic read that everyone should pick up!
I was nervous starting Book 2, thinking I may have forgotten all the tension and atmosphere from the previous novel. Boy, was I mistaken. Wolves of the Rising Moon drops right back into the high-stress situation and story. After being introduced to murderous Alpha, Drago, I was instantly drawn in. I know, he's the enemy you're supposed to hate but he's brooding and misunderstood and I'm a sucker for that. Willa jumps straight back into juggling not being a medic, teaching her twin sister Mari the ins and outs of her vast role as a medic and managing two mates. I loved how Jewel Killian introduced new supernatural elements and new packs that interfere. Willa's trauma was nail-biting and anxiety-inducing but felt necessary to progress with her story. Although this was an awful thing to read about, it allowed Jewel to introduce important topics among her characters such as the treatment of Omega's in packs and how Willa can help them, no matter how difficult this may be. Once again, I was left wanting more and I'm excited to see where Jewel goes next with the story!
This is so far my favourite book by Jewel. All I can say is DRAGO!!!!
Obviously Drago is totally the character for me, I truly loved that we got to know him better in this 2nd book. I had a feeling he was going to be my top guy from the first book, but I was blown away with his background story. I use to like Rafe but he kinda irks me in this book and Jonha is totally the comic relief I enjoy his personality immensely. Willa definitely has a lot of personalities to deal with here but I know she can handle them with her quiet strength and resolve.
The journey of the characters was exciting and thoughtful and I loved the new characters that were introduced. Particularly Eden and Sunny. I do hope we get to see more of that crew in the 3rd addition.
I'll definitely be anxiously awaiting the next installment!
That man/uber wolf is one tall and dark drink of water. Let’s just say there os more to him than meets the eye.
Willa has her hands full now that Drago has proven to be her other mate. She already has her hands full with her healing powers being gone and Rafe and Jonah not happy another has entered the pic.
Steam level is so scorching and emotional. Loved seeing the bonds grow between her and them.
This book was so fun to read because we got to meet again the characters of the Laurel Cove series. They may not be the focus but they do play important roles - one most in particular that prompts a serious hurdle to face.
Kind of cliffhanger but nothing too intense.
* I received this book as an ARC for an honest review.
Wolves of the Rising Moon is book #2 in The Healers Pack series. It's a why choose romance.
We pick up where we left off in book 1 and it will instantly have you sucked into the story. We get some surprises, some cameos from characters from Jewels other series, amazing spicy scenes, and a badass omega with her hot mates!!
I love Willa, you can relate to her so much. I love her mates Rafe, Jonah and Drago. I love this story, I just can't get enough of this world.
If you haven't started The Healers Pack series yet, you really should!!!
This book picks up right where the last one left off. I really enjoy this storyline and the characters. Willa is a force to be reckoned with and she’ll need to discover who “Willa” really is.
This book is spicy. While trying to figure out how to deal with two mates, a third one gets added to the mix. Draco is hot and his dirty talk ramps up the steam 🥵.
I look forward to more of Willa’s journey and am anxiously awaiting the next book.
Jewel brings us another awesome book in the Healer's pack series! Willa meets her 3rd mate and does not like him at the beginning, but slowly learns to see beyond the surface. Add in a road trip and a few more occurances and.. you have to read it for yourself! (Winks). I totally enjoyed reading this story and highly recommend the series. Don't miss out on this book!!
This picks up right where the previous book left off. There is so much development included in the story for personal, relationship, and plot. Willa is really showing her strength and Drago brings alot of heat. I love Drago! The story is gripping and I quickly became engrossed. This series is just getting better and I can't wait to read the next book.
I loved this continuation of Willa’s story! As a healer at heart, you can understand her upset at being mated to a murderer although I think you can tell not all is what it seems with Drago even upon first glance. I really enjoyed getting to know him and reading about Willa furthering her bond with her guys. I loved the crossover characters too from Laurel Cove. Amazing steam and dynamics!
This story grabs you right away and you can’t stop! It’s a wonderful storyline as Willa has to learn that she doesn’t have her magic but has to grow with her mates! This is harder than she thought but she was trying! As they are together they learn more about each other and what their strengths are. This was a great story! I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I received an ARC and this is my honest review. This sequel was done well. I liked how the story developed. I enjoyed the introduction of new mates. The book took some interesting turns. I like how the characters grew and learned to connect. Nice and spicy. Not a fan of Raff in the end but will see how the third book goes. If you enjoyed book 1 you will like this one too.
This is book 2 and it picks up where book 1 ended. It is even making me like Drago. What's that with silent waters? Yeah there's more then meets the eye. I loved the story as it raises issues within as they help another pack. I love this take on omegaverse and it having other designations. It makes it well worth the read.
I really liked Rafe in the previous book for the most part. Can it really be a healthy relationship when he now is so jealous, Willa cannot be with her other men without him in the room? He now sounds like an insecure loser. There was really nothing else to keep me interested except Drago. I liked him a lot. Jonah is likable as well.
It's not a bad series. But yeah something's missin. Not enough plot maybe. Like, you don't feel a sense of urgency in their mission with thecwendigo at all. And despite the humor that I like a lot, I think I know where this is going. I don't think Drago will be the one defeating him. I think she will with her new powers.
Willa has a lot of internal debates and struggles in this second novel but we get to learn so much more about Drago and see Willa come into her own identity and power which was wonderful to read. And I feel like Jonah really solidified his status as book boyfriend in this one!!
WOW! This series is amazing. The story is full of surprises and so well written it draws you in and keeps you there. The characters are well written and you can put yourself in their shoes easily. The heat in this book, holy moley, the heat will leave you panting!
Great Read!! This continues after book 1 left off. There was action, angst and steam and so much more! I feel like Willa went through some growth in this book and I loved watching the relationships grow between her and the guys. Overall, I really enjoyed it!
This book was so good it felt like I was speeding towards the end. It was hard to put down. The characters are interesting and the plot got it's act together. I like this universe and I hope we get more books about the others.
A fantastic second edition to The Wolves of the Midnight Stars. In the short time since I read the first book I'd forgotten it, so starting this I was like, huh? I don't remember that. But it didn't take away from the story any, in fact I think sometimes it helps as I don't have any preconceived ideas about what's gonna happen.
This book did have a dark patch in it, but a relevant one I feel. One that even we come across. As for how the situation is handled I thought it was pretty good, considering the topic.
I can't wait for the next book and the conclusion to Willa's story. Will she gain any more men? Who knows? Jewel does of course!
This book starts where book one finished, and then takes us on an adventure! I loved seeing are favorite characters again! I can't wait to understand what is happening to Willa.
