Author of Daily Worship (Laughing Ronin Press), Panoramic (Curious Corvid Publishing), My Kink Adventure (Curious Corvid Publishing), and Consequences of 50 Shades (A Thin Slice of Anxiety). Kinky queer. Lover of cats, libraries, and far infrared heat. Great at failing a Pinterest recipe. Korean food, dramas, and pop are my love language. Just here to break stigmas and get tattoos.

This is such a beautiful collection. It's haunting and raw, definitely the kind of poetry that gets right under your skin and doesn't hold back. It's unapologetic and will make you feel things deeply in your heart and your soul.

I would recommend this to anyone who wants to dive into poetry that packs a lot of punch, will make you pause and reflect, and both smile and choke up a little.

So, I bought this book at the Market of the Macabre in Philly this past weekend and got to meet the author. Aimee was SUPER sweet. I gotta say, this was a really great collection. I like a good poem book from time to time, but I wouldn’t say it’s my fav. But I read this from front to back in one sitting. These poems were powerful and I loved every second.

Outstanding collection of alluring and raw poems. The artist invites us to share in her trauma and healing, her longing and satisfaction, her vulnerability and her power. This is one I’ll be reading over and over again.

A spicy odyssey

“Panoramic” by Aimee Nicole is a fascinating auto biographical collection of poems and journal entries that tell the story of how the author triumphs over their abusive past and goes on to reclaim their sexual agency. Well written though out and highly recommended!

Truly some of the best short verse I’ve ever read

It really is “panoramic.” A tapestry of poems and journal entries, honest, direct, raw, in your face at times, with strong feminist themes. From sensual to sarcastic, from wistful to wisdom, from trauma to healing, and everything in between. A perfect blend of humor and harsh reality. Figurative language that stings as much as it soothes. Aimee Nicole is nothing less than an artist… her brush dipped in experience and creative expression, making stroke upon stroke on a canvas of diverse emotions that mark the Human condition. A highly recommended must read!

“Did trauma seep from my pores
like a fever treated by
cold compress?
Or is it just the ghoul in the attic,
playing poker and smoking a cigar
slowly passing the years
until you leave
(as they all do)
to begin to feast upon
this rotting corpse once again.”
—“The Ghoul”, page 131, in “Panoramic”

This week’s poetry collection is “Panoramic” by Aimee Nicole. In “Panoramic”, we watch as Aimee works her way through showing trauma who’s boss and owning her own powerful voice. Part saucy, part delightfully scandalous, all incredibly raw. The way in which the author narrates her way through this book in how she works through trauma becomes more and more real as we progress our way into her writing. One of the things I really loved about this collection was the journal entries scattered throughout. We don’t always get to see the exact incident or feeling that set the stage for a piece of writing, and I really like the effect these additions had on the book. As a SANE (sexual assault nurse examiner), this collection spoke volumes to me. The catalyst, the aftermath, the redemption, the emotions elicited from each of these events—it’s all here in “Panoramic”, woven together yet beautifully messy—illustrating perfectly how none of these feelings are independent in and of themselves.

Amiee Nicole's Panoramic is a delicate and intricate collection which examines sexual trauma and the journey of reclaiming one's sexuality. The speaker of these poems seeks to reclaim their identity and mold anew. It is powerful, raw, and innovative. There are a mixture of personal journal entries that are vulnerable, leaves room for deep contemplation, and reflection. A collection that depicts transformation as painful, difficult, and beautiful.

As always, Aimee hits your heart with the realness of being a woman, the down and dirty side that not many talk about. Love it!

This is just the medicine I thought I'd never have the luck of being prescribed. Hard to swallow but ACTUALLY CURES SOMETHING. Ah, thank you, Dr. Nicole, for baring it all with such straight-no-chaser-grace. In this collection, Aimee brushes off trauma like it's nothing more than a jester so caught up its own fantasy of how funny they are that they embody the word 'clueless'. And their tramp stamp tattoo is 'Should I leave a note?'

Enough about my exes though, let's talk about this book. It has changed me on levels I need a extra hot minute to process. Review to come.
