Ne že bych podceňoval dětský čtenáře, ale řekl bych, že je tu trochu moc dějovejch linek (zvoníci, časočerv, skřítci, obryně...) a stejně jako v předchozích dílech končí každá kapitola cliffhangerem, takže by malí posluchači nejradši pokračovali pořád dál a dál, a tím pádem to není úplně vhodný čtení před spaním. :-) Jinak ale dobrý, nicméně stále dávám přednost komiksům.

A delightful fun book that mixes three episode in one book. It is time for Yule, watch out for that time worm, and you better stop those BELLS!


I was so happy that there would be more Netflix Tie-in books, I really enjoyed the first three so I was eager to get the rest. Since I already had several books on my buy list I only got the first one, but I will definitely be buying the next ones real soon!

In this book we get a masterfully crafted story made up out of three episodes from the second season. Namely: Chapter 6 – The Old Bells of Trolberg, Chapter 8 – The Fifty Year Night, and Chapter 10 – The Yule Lads. Oh and a dash of Chapter 1 – The Troll Circle. There are also mentions to other episodes (like the Kraken or the snowstorm one). The main setting is from the Yule Lads episode as this whole book plays around the Trolberg Winter Festival. I absolutely loved how it was all woven into one story and how things were changed here and there to make it different from the TV-series. Like how it is Hilda who came up with the name for the Troll Bells operation instead of David. Or how Hilda was originally grounded due to a big fat Kraken instead of sabotaging (I would rather call it helping save magical creatures) bells. It was really well done and it gave some extra and new dimensions to the Hilda series.

It took me a bit to get settled because for me the Yule Lads and the Winter Festival didn’t happen in those first two episodes, but once I was settled in and saw it all just clicked together I flew through this book. I absolutely love that they were able to grab episodes and make something new. I had fun following Hilda on her quest to help someone with their date (not always a good idea), stop some bells from ringing (really, why did anyone think it was a brilliant idea to ring bells non-stop, you are not only driving away trolls (or get them angry) but you also anger and drive away your own peeps, because believe me I wouldn’t have stayed if bells kept on ringing on that insane level), find out about the Yule lads and understand that naughty and nice doesn’t mean kids are supposed to be kidnapped. And I loved seeing Hilda work hard to get a snowglobe for her mom, that was just the sweetest, especially since the item inside held such an important memory for both. I also love seeing Frida, Alfur, David, and many others. I loved getting to meet new characters and monsters/creatures from the land.

I would highly recommend these to the fans of the franchise and those who are interested in it! Also be sure to check out the amazing show and the graphic novels.

This was very fun. While I’m not the biggest fan of the Yule Lads, it was still a good adventure. I’m very impressed by how they adapted several episodes into the one book, weaving them together flawlessly.

As always, I’m a huge fan of the audiobooks, which are fully voice acted, including sound effects! Also while I have not confirmed, I strongly suspect that some of the voice actors from the show reprise their roles for the audiobook narration, which is fantastic.

If you like the show, I highly recommend these audiobooks. Even if you haven’t seen it, these do stand well on their own (but do watch the show, it’s excellent).

I love the Hilda TV show, I love these fully produced Hilda audio dramas, I'm just not big on this story either in this or the show's form. I do admit to having a pet peeve with time travel/butterfly effect stuff, and for similar reasons why I never get on with them I've always felt this story is quite complicated for very little pay off. That being said, kudos to Audible for the work that goes into these audio dramas, I wish they'd do more of them!

Just read the Graphic Novels or watch the show. They try to take multiple episodes and smush them into these tie-in books but they don't do it well. They change plot points to wear the characters change and it's just not the same. I will finish the series because I am a completionist and I love the world of Hilda. Also in the audiobook it is a full cast dramatisation and that's enjoyable. Especially when they have most of the original cast from the show.

I was a little disappointed that two of my favorite storylines from the tv show ended up happening at the same time instead of separately. For time line reasons it just felt wrong. It’s still nice to read of Hilda’s adventures. I just wish the plot of the books matched more with the tv show.

This was the best Hilda tie-in novel yet. The story veers just far enough away from the episodes to keep it interesting.

There were a few consistency issues that were distracting (they were eating stew and then it changed to casserole; later Hilda was suddenly wearing a mask).

Just finished Hilda and the Time Worm, 3 stars for this one, as a lot was happening at the same time (not my cup of tea when a lot is going on simultaneously). However, I always enjoy the wonderful narrators of this series of audiobooks.

I enjoyed reading this to my first grader. I think it is cleverly produced, as it held her interest and included enough pictures to help her, but is also written at a level that would still be of interest to (at least some) middle schoolers. And I was interested / not bored with it, which seems like a great accomplishment for kids' fiction.
