I am in love with this cookbook! I love Pokémon and so does my son. This is an example of a perfect ‘fandom’ cookbook done right. Each chapter/section is themed by the Pokémon regions! And each recipe is themed to a Pokémon. These are substantial, real legitimate recipes which also represent the distinct theme. Perfect for a party or just having fun. If you’re a boy mom too, or if you just love Pokémon, this is a must have. I can’t wait to cook all these recipes together!
Super cute and the recipes are really good, both sweet and savory. My favorite is definitely the Squash Gnocchi, I tried it with acorn squash instead of butternut and it was great 😋
I received this in a giveaway here on Goodreads, which was fully unexpected!
The book is bound well and the cover's nice. I'm not a huge Pokemon fan but my husband is. The recipes range from easy with only a handful of ingredients, to some more complicated ones that will definitely require hunting down ingredients you can't find in your local grocery store in small town America.
My only gripe about the book is that it's organized by regions versus the standard Appetizers, Drinks, Soups, Meals, etc so it's a little complicated quickly locating a recipe that you're looking for.
This is such a cute cookbook! Any lover of Pokemon would love this, from children to those of us adults who grew up playing the games and watching the show on Saturday mornings. There are recipes that are simple to ones that are more complicated. Recipes that make the food look like the Pokemon exactly to just the feeling of the pokemon. The way that this is organized is wonderful as well and any Pokemon fan would appreciate it. It separates the recipes into the regions and not by the type of food, so if you have a favorite region from Pokemon you can go right there and be inspired!
I received my copy of this cookbook due to a giveaway and it was awesome prize! This cookbook has become a family favorite as my kids are fans and are enjoying the diverse levels of culinary skills. The kids love that each chapter consists different Pokemon group by lands and culinary skills levels. I appreciate that ingredient appendix which is very helpful in explaining and suggest ingredients plus sources. The pictures were phenomenal and is a great addition to our novelty cookbook collection.
This book has great recipes for beginners to more experienced cooks. Great for foodies and Pokemon fans alike. There were also ingredients I hadn't used before that taught me more about cooking. I made the Strawberry Milk Bread featured in the Miltank section and it was excellent. *(Crush freeze dried strawberries if you are struggling to find strawberry powder as an FYI.) This is an absolute joy of a book.
I love the concept but I don’t think books for kids should require buying a piece of equipment for so many of the recipes from fine mesh strainers to min loaf pans to silicone mold not to mention ingredients that can only be found on Amazon. I love anything that gets kids reading and this is super creative and fun but a LOT of work.
I won this book from Goodreads. Was so excited to win this one for my grandkids and it is wonderfully illustrated with great pictures of the food from the recipes. Very nice recipe's if you or your kids love Pikachu your gonna love this cook book
I was very excited to see this being published because I love the author's website. Unfortunately, the recipes weren't for me. The dragonite squash pasta was the only recipe I took a picture of. Lots of recipes for drinks if you are interested in those.
