Raising Baby by the Stars: A New Parent's Guide to Astrology

Rate this book
A comprehensive and approachable guide to raising infants and toddlers with help from the stars, from journalist and astrologer Maressa Brown.

Beginning with your baby’s sun sign, then diving into their whole birth chart, here’s how to use astrology to decode your little one’s personality, character traits, communication style, likes and dislikes, inspiration for happiness, and triggers for fussiness, even the best-suited books, toys, and activities. Divided into three parts—The Twelve Signs; A Guide to Your Little One’s Mind, Spirit, and Well-Being; and Parent and Child Bonding with Your Growing Star—this book covers specifics on parenting based on your own astrological identity (an Aries parent and an Aries child will connect through competitive activities but may clash as a result of their being equally hotheaded). Best ways to foster your little one’s self-expression (art supplies are a must-have for Libras). How to boost your baby’s physical and mental well-being (a back rub before bed will be especially soothing for a tense Leo). In other words, it’s a parenting book tailored to your unique child, all based on the timeless wisdom of the zodiac.

I absolutely LOVED this book! First of all, it’s a gorgeous book with a beautiful embossed cover with metallic accents. This book is SO much more than a “looks cute on the coffee table but you never look at again” book. It’s a deep, amazing, accesible dive into astrology. I am honestly not that into astrology and don’t know much beyond my sign, and I got so much out of reading this. I love the section for my child’s sign, learning about how our signs interact, even looking at my partner’s sign and learning more about how to communicate with him, even though he’s an adult and not a baby. It all applies! The book is beautifully designed with fabulous full color illustrations. This will be SUCH a good baby gift! I plan on purchasing it for all my friends, even those with toddlers and school aged kids. LOVE!!!!!!!

Even if you don’t have children but are interested in astrology, you need this book. If you want to understand more about yourself, you need this book. If you want to explore the dynamics between your parent(s) and yourself, you need this book! Raising Baby helps you grasp the foundations of astrology in an engaging and beautiful narrative with an easy format to cruise from your astro and another’s (child or parent) to every other combination possible. A truly useful astrology guide I will reference for many years to come.

I really liked this book. I picked it up randomly at the library because of the pretty cover. While I’m not “really” a star sign person- I mean really why would people born on the same month have similar personalities and believe it’s mainly the idea of reading into it what you want… I do find them interesting. With this book- it’s laid out really well. You can jump to your kids star signs- then there’s a bit on parenting starting and kid starsign and what things you have in common vs are challenging and finally there’s a quick sibling check. Definitely worth a quick check if you have a vague interest! 🌟

This book is great! Highly recommended. Very fun to read and super informative. I also loved the way that it was laid out. It makes it easy and fun to compare different parent child relationships based on the zodiac signs. Fun read!
