Lasseter's Reef

Rate this book
At the turn of the 20th century, Australian prospector Harold Lasseter rose to fame by making the sensational claim that he had discovered a fabulously rich gold reef somewhere near the Petermann Ranges in Central Australia. Although his claims were never proven to be true, the legend of Lasseter’s gold reef has been one of Australia’s most popular and enduring folk tales.

Many expeditions have been undertaken to find Lasseter’s gold but, to this day, none have succeeded. Lasseter’s Reef is a fictional retelling of one such expedition. Set against the backdrop of the beautiful but inhospitable red-center of Australia, follow Pearce – son of unscrupulous and wealthy businessman, Martin Cash – as he attempts to survive a harsh and unforgiving landscape, where sweltering heat, dangerous wildlife, dwindling supplies and vicious bushrangers all stand in his way on the greatest expedition of his young life; the search for Lasseter’s Reef.
