This book includes less grammatical issues than the first I read by Kai, but overall, I think this could be split into a couple of different versions. As someone who has held a professional job for 10 years now and is not in a romantic relationship or in a place of child rearing, a good chunk of the middle of this book didn’t pertain to me as much as the other book did as a whole. Occasionally, there were good reminders in the sections that went over things that didn’t fit my life stage or capacity as much, but overall, I think those sections would be better suited for someone else.

The exercises at the end of each chapter were sometimes quite vague and didn’t have much substance. Still applicable but less concrete at times.

That being said, the part I connected with most was the section on self talk. This is where I seem to feel more cluttering of my mind and can take all of the extra advice and exercises. Some of the examples are quite basic, but I think that can help anyone to see how easy these things are to implement. The examples of positive vs negative self talk mentioned are great examples of how to implement cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) into your daily life and functioning. Nothing g new for me, but has the ability to be quite profound for someone who has not been to therapy or tried this sort of reframing of thoughts.

Only a little way into my journey with this, but I like the "voice" I hear in my head as I read and attempt the task. I can do this.... it's achievable :). (didn't realise it was part of a bundle i'd also got)
