A Kiss for Santa

Rate this book
This year, Santa gets a gift too.

One night every year, I deliver gifts to all the good people around the world. I have everything I could want—a beautiful private home, loving friends and family, and the most amazing job in existence. All my needs are more than met, and the other 364 days of the year are mine to spend how I wish.

The only thing I don’t have is a love of my own. I’ve been hopelessly in love with Luca Vincent for years, watching him from afar, but he has a full life and it would be selfish of me to woo him away. Which is a problem because I have to be married soon or lose my Christmas magic to my brother. Neither of us wants that to happen, leaving me with two choices—let the Council arrange a marriage or find my own husband fast.

With my looming deadline and Luca’s holiday cheer slipping away, I know the time to act is now. Somehow, I have to convince him to come back to my home with me. I’ll use every tool I have and plenty of holiday magic to make him mine. Maybe this Christmas, I’ll find a Kiss For Santa under the tree.

This was my first Holiday story of the year and what a way to start my Holiday reading. I just enjoyed this book so much.

The man of my dreams. He’s finally mine.

Brief summary
Magnus is Santa. Magnus has had a crush on Luca for years. Magnus has to get married soon or he will lose his role as Santa. And Lucas has been losing his love of Chrstimas. So Magnus decides to woo him, and they fall in love with each other.

I love Holiday stories when they are takes on stories about Santa, those are just the best to me. And this one was such a brillant take on the subject. This book was packed with so much Christmas cheer and I loved every seconds of it. I loved how every seconds of this one were packed with Christmas cheer, this book was just so cheerful and I really adored that. I loved how descritive everything was. I really felt like I was there visiting Santa and the world he lives in and I adored every seconds of that.

I loved the romance in this book so much. This was just so adorable. I kept swooning while I read this book because it was just the cutest thing I have read in a while. This book was just so cute. I always love a good adorable romance and this one just did everything I wanted it to. This book just put the biggest smile on my face, and it made me super happy while I read it. Which is everything I am looking for in a Holiday book.

Reading this book honestly just felt like I was watching a Christmas movie that happens in the North Pole and that was so lovely to me. I just thought that was such a fun reading experience.

This book was just so much fun to read. This just had the best vibe and I throughly enjoyed the reading experience of reading this book.

I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest opinion

This was a warm mug of hot chocolate, with candy candy cane sprinkled toppings. I’d classify this sweet Christmas novella as top-tier holiday cheer.

I rarely read these little stories but after seeing Dan's review I couldn’t help but pick it up. It had more character depth than I expected, and the love story was really sweet and genuine.

A Kiss For Santa is one M/M fantasy romance not to be missed this holiday season.

Fun, festive and fabulously filled with Christmas magic and once-in-a-lifetime love, the story follows Magnus, the world’s most recent Santa, as he finds himself facing a tradition-old time-restraint, wherein he must choose and bond with a mate before next Christmas or concede his Santa-ship to the next in line.

Thankfully for Magnus, he found the love of his life many years ago, in the form of very human Luca, who has been staying up late every Christmas Eve since he was 22 in the hopes of spending another second with the sexy Santa who stole his heart on sight.

Now, with Luca 32 and sadly losing hope in Christmas, Magnus must make himself and his intentions truly known, in the hopes that Luca will happily and eagerly choose loving Santa over all else.

This was very sweet and perhaps a little sappy at times, but I couldn’t read this story fast enough, feeling all warm and fuzzy over the intensity of Magnus and Luca’s destiny-tinged love, from the very first Christmassy meet-cute, all the way to their magical HEA and beyond.

I adored this story and this new take on Santa. This was definitely a new-to-me author experience gone oh-so-right!!!

“Do you like it here?”
“I love it here, Magnus.”
“Good. Would you like to see my bedroom?”

And I thought: What the hell, Santa? Way to go! 🤣🤣🤣
But okay, turned out it was a pretty innocent request and obv only my thoughts went to the gutter there.

Sweet little Christmas novella and a nice holiday-snack of a romance for in-between. 🎅🏼

So much cringe, I can't believe I finished this novella.

I love holiday stories, even the syrupy sweet ones, but what the hell was the author thinking here?

No character or relationship development, wooden dialogue, unearned HEA.

I feel like the Grinch and seem to be in the minority with my rating, but this book is shockingly terrible.

Well, that was a fun and festive (sleigh) ride.

In order to keep his powers Santa, also known as Magnus, has to find a mate. For years he's been in love with Luca, visiting him a for a few minutes each christmas eve. But Luca is a human, so Magus feels conflicted about choosing him as his mate as it would mean giving up his human life.

"Forgive me for spying, Luca. It's my only joy to see your face."
My eyes go wide. "Do you mean that?"
"Have I not been obvious?"

However the deadline is close at hand. Magnus needs to find a mate by this christmas. If he doesn't he either has to agree to an arranged mate with someone he despises or lose his powers and have them pass on to his brother who doesn't want them at all.

So Magnus decides to explain the situation to Luca, and let him decide. Can a relationship that was built on a few minutes each year lead to true love?

Also throw in the christmas movie staple of a threat to christmas itself. With Magnus and Luca having to find out what's going on and save the day.

"If we don't get it fixed soon, Christmas won't happen."

__

A Kiss For Santa has all the classic christmas movie vibes, but adult and with some steamy smut. As per the genre, expect a lot of magic, a picturesque snowy village, and a lot of christmas cringe (but in a good way).

I’d give up all the gingerbread in the world just to kiss this man.

Things move fast as it's a novella and the timeframe is short; there's a lot of convenience, and kind of insta-love (there's mutual yearning from afar so it's technically not insta).

Here are some quotes from this book that you won't find in a Hallmark or Netflix christmas movie:

Santa is a virgin. Things I never thought I'd know.

"Are you going to do what I think you're going to do?"
"If you're thinking I'm going to suck your soul out through your cock, then you're correct."

Luca put his hand over my growing erection, squeezing gently. "It's a whole new world, Santa

A quick fun read that doesn't take itself too seriously, perfect for the holiday

This was cute and so sweet it will give you a cavity. A pretty well rounded short story of Santa finding his mate. Lots of magical and tender moments (those make me uncomfortable because my heart is made of stone) this is a warm uplifting Christmas read. It was a bit fanciful and some of the made up elements were trite and obviously stolen from various popular Christmas movies, but I enjoyed it for the most part. The cover is great and the story is short. I liked the idea of a hot, youngish virgin Santa who can only seal the deal if it means forever. Sew kewt. 🎅🏻

First of all, let’s take a deep breath and appreciate the cover. Stunning! 👀💕

“Whatever you choose, you would be my most treasured joy.”

I LOVE Christmas reads!! From all Christmas-theme book I’ve read before, I can come to conclusion that Santa is definitely a cute stalker 😂🤭

This was actually entertaining. I thought it would be simple and lousy written book but welp, the whole “Santa world” and “Christmas magic” was heck yes! 🥰 The Santa world is so comforting and cherry too! The way Santa decsirbes it, aaahhh I wanna live there 😩😩

Anyway, I can’t imagine the anticipation waiting years for one time opportunity to see Santa. It must be exciting! Especially when he’s as hot as Magnus 😋

All in all, it was a sweet and romantic low angst, perfect for Christmas! 💜

*sobs* the runaway trope always gets me 🥹

Well, this was cute. Also, literally short and sweet. My first Christmas read for the season and I'm pleasantly surprised.
It was soo overly sweet; like the sort of sweet I'm usually cringing and closing the book on, but I think because I'm a sucker for hallmark Christmas movies, I was here for this book.
Magnus and Luca were adorable and their magical world was beautifully whimsical. And who knew virgin hot Santa was a kink?
I also love the cover by Tal Lewin (also known as @caravaggia13 on instagram). I'm amassing a whole collection of books with their artwork on it.

MM, dual POV novella with a HEA.

I'm usually a fan of low angst stories with minimal plot where MCs have a lot of respect for each other right from the get-go that easily turns into love and a HEA - but this novella isn't it and didn't do it for me. The MCs don't have enough depth (and I don't even ask for much from novellas) for me to care about them. The only reason I'm still thinking about Santa is because of that cover - he's so hot 🥵 so yes ofcourse hot black-bearded Santa with a very sexy hairdo, killer abs and a lovely smile, let's lie down on your sleigh and go all the way 🥵 this ho ho ho needs you to melt her in all the right places 🔥

This story has some wonderful concepts - Santa's visits (I think this was the best part of the whole story, the yearning, the surprise, the pining, the possibilities and the mystery of it all), gift giving to specific sections of the society, all the winter magic, endless food supply, a santa that's hot as fuck, kind, loving and magnanimous and I'm a sucker for any story that's like "the magic is in the believing of the thing✨" - very cool and warm and fluffy BUT I think the execution of the book isn't as good as it could have been - big missed opportunity here. I'm glad it's over. Also, I'm all for suspending disbelief but I can't imagine immortal beings not getting dead bored when every day of the year is wintery and magical. Even immortals need variety, people 👏

Also, what the hell kind of a name is Sinterborg?! Sounds like cyborg excuse me, I don't want to think of robots when we're speaking of magic and winter. Swinterland would have been so much better. Even Swinterberg, or something with the words Polar or North in it. Literally anything is better than Sinterborg, please. 😐

3.75 ⭐️ The cutest MM fantasy novella!

Luca starts to fall in love with Santa at 22, when he falls asleep on the couch on Christmas Eve only to awaken and see a jolly, red suit wearing man delivering presents underneath his family’s tree. Except this guy is definitely not old, fat and round, but a hot, young and gorgeous. After their short encounter, Luca fights sleep to stay awake every Christmas Eve, just in case he gets another chance to see beautiful Santa Claus, and maybe talk to him again. What he doesn’t know, though, is that Santa saw him that night, and since then, has thought of Luca as his perfect mate.

This was lovely, and magical and all things Christmas! This rendition of Santa was amazing, I love the explanations about different holidays and cultures still needing and deserving joy and gifts. There was no talk of religion, so nothing felt preachy, and it was amazing. Also, the fact that this Santa is a v!rgin… I never would have expected it, but I loved it. It’s the little things, really. The spice is mild here, but it’s just pure joy and rom com feels.

I need more sweet MM stories in my life!

Holiday fantasy fun ! We get a look at Luca in different times of life, to show us what a sweet person he was. We see him as a child, at 22, then 28, and now at 32, plus his close relationship with his Mom.
Santa has checked on Luca and saw that he was full of Christmas spirit, until he began to see unhappiness in Luca's life. Luca didn't even go to see his beloved Mom this year. Santa knew he had to do something. Santa is really "Magnus" and his job title was Santa. He loved helping people all over the world, but Luca was special to him.

He showed up and told Luca his story.
This is a cute fantasy tale of the magic of Christmas and finding your true love and destiny. You'll love this fairy tale adventure.

ENJOY !

There are two major things that make me uncomfortable in life...

1. Overly sappy and sweet moments in any context
and
2. People standing in my bubble when they're talking to me

A Kiss for Santa was SO cheesy and sweet that I wanted to cringe but Magnus and Luca were just wonderful so I found myself smiling appreciatively instead.

“Is this really happening?” he whispers. “Am I in a holiday movie?”

description

Magnus (Santa) has been watching Luca for a long time and when Luca loses his Christmas spirit and the deadline to accept a mate grows closer, he decides to make his play for Luca. With little time to woo and convince Luca to give up everything he knows for a new life with him, he has to pull out all the punches. Because a life without Luca would be heartbreaking. Luckily for Magnus, Luca has some feelings of his own for Magnus.

This was low angst, short, and very much a slow burn but it worked here. The few steamy moments were like a spiked hot chocolate. Overall, a wonderful MM holiday read that hit me right in the chest.

Not to sound like a Grinch, but giving up everything to move to a winter wonderland where everyone is always happy and jolly and it's about Christmas all year long sounds like a total nightmare to me.

Don't get me wrong, I love Christmas like everyone else but that's a bit excessive.

So I am really surprised that it wasn't a bigger deal for our main character Luca here.
I mean, sure he gets to be with a criminally hot Santa Claus, but EVERYTHING is still a lot to give up for a man you've only known for 3 days.

Because yes, despite watching each other for years... or ... more like watching each other once a year and that for years, they just met when Luca gets swept off his feet by Magnus aka hot Santa to his magical winter world and has to decided whether he wants to stay there forever or not.

So it's very insta-love (...insta-marriage?) and while I am usually not the biggest fan of that I didn't mind it too much here.

What I mind though is the absolute lack of drama. As it's a book about Santa, I was at least expecting a huge catastrophe treating to ruin Christmas or something. We do have a villain here, but either is he not trying hard enough or just not a good villain, because all his plans fail immediately.

That and that Magnus and Luca are right from the start 100% without any doubts about their relationship are the main reasons why there is zero drama and why the story is not very interesting.

It's cute yeah and the fantasy part was pretty cool, but overall just not the best book.

Adorable, Christmas-magic-filled little story about Magnus, the world's current Santa, and Luca who is human, with an interesting take on the Santa lore, and a wee bit of drama with someone who's possibly trying to sabotage Christmas.

Thank you to the kind elf who gifted this to me.

From November 1 to the New Year, I will happily read all the Christmas fluff I can squeeze into my busy schedule. And a book where Santa finds love? SIGN ME UP! This was excellently done! Santa’s real name is Magnus, and the position is fulfilled my male members of his family. He fell in love with Luca 10 years ago but has held off making a move as he wanted to allow for Luca to find love and live a “normal” life. There’s now a deadline looming where all Santa’s are expected to be mated by and between that and someone determined to sabotage Christmas, Magnus is determined to finally make his move and win Luca’s heart. Mia Monroe truly won me over with this one and it will most likely make my annual lineup. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

That was a sweet little story, with lots of Christmas joy. I loved this version of Santa and thought Magnus fit his Santa title to a T; he is so kind and caring.

Lucas is losing his Christmas joy, but luckily, he had Magnus reminding him of the joys of the holidays. They have both been pinning for each other, and it made me smile to see them fall completely for each other.

I adored all of the side characters, especially their families. This was great, Christmas read, filled with warmth and love.

you know everyone's favourite christmas song: ‘santa claus is comin’ 😏

wait a minute, hold awn… why was this kinda good? 🫢

see THIS is the book i should’ve saved myself for christmas. i really liked this! way more than i was expecting to!

it had world building that i genuinely found interesting. it was a unique take that both expanded on and strayed from the traditional christmas lore that i thought was super cool. i wish we’d gotten to see more of it to be honest

was it perfect? obviously fucking not. but idrc, cause i fully bought into it anyway 🤭 i had a lot of fun with this

This was an absolute delight. Of all the Christmas romances I've read, this one gave me the most classic Christmas feels. Undoubtedly, Santa being the love interest is a large part of that, but Monroe has created a magical holiday fantasy world, complete with snow and reindeer and elves. This story combined that childlike Christmas sense of awe with an adorably sweet (and sexy) romance. It's a Christmas fairytale with the required happily ever after, and I loved it.
