Devin is my favourite in this - any guy who can rock skimpy swim shorts is a keeper, for sure! A lovely, short read that gives you a glimpse into the "Ballet Boys" world that's coming soon! 'Cause who wouldn't love reading about gay dancing boys! Hell yeah!
Cute and sexy with some surprising feels coming from sweet cowboy Steve and sexy dancer Devin. I feel like this L.A. pool party scenario could actually happen. I enjoyed it and it was well written. I read this at Prolific Works in 2023.
* Mistletoe Swing-Cyd Sidney ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The novella by this author that I just read at Bookfunnel.com is not listed among their works so I am going to review it here as it has the couple from ‘The Way That You Move Me’, Steve and Devin, in this story. The story setting is their apartment. Devin plays matchmaker for these MCs, fellow dancer Jayce and teacher Zachary. They already have met through grocery deliveries and are surprised to see each other at a holiday party, complete with lots of hanging mistletoe courtesy of Devin. Sparks fly between the MCs and they fully intend to get it on in the guest room, after Devin courteously removes all the guests coats from the bed. What a nice host to provide a comfy place to f**k! The story ends with them kissing. The author writes good heat, it would have been nice to have a complete scene. This was a cute and nicely written story.
Short, steamy “ballet boys” in the M/M series This was short but so well-written and edited that I breezed through it. Steve is with his friend at a pool party feeling big and clumsy because many of the guys are svelte dancer-types, strong but lithe. A good-looking guy named Devin comes up to him in his speedo, right out of the pool asking for help. Devin needs a fake boyfriend like right away. Steve volunteers to assist. Steve realizes his luck as the evening goes along. Saucy first attraction, insta-lust-to…maybe love?? I hope later in the series we’ll see these guys reappear with an update.
This was a short free read and it gave me no emotion at all. No scene building, no tension, no emotion, nothing. I would love to find something good to say as I hate leaving negatively but I honestly got nothing from this book. The only positive is it took about 20 minutes to finish. The cover is good - that’s the one positive.
2.5 Very short. Guy out of place at pool party is asked to fake being boyfriend of flamboyant guy to prove to his ex he's moved on. Eventually they have oral sex in a bush and decide to be together. That's it. No real plot, just kind of sexy interlude. It was fine but not much to it.
I remember this being sweet at the time, but one thing that has let it down is that when I came to review it I couldn’t remember a thing about it at all. Not a good sign really.
Pretending to be someone's date can sometimes work out to be just the right thing to do as Steve and Devin find out in this delightful short by author Cyd Sidney. A thoroughly enjoyable read.
