Spirituality Meets Entrepreneurship - A must read if you want success in business/career or life
Edmond has achieved a remarkable feat by reaching into the depths of eastern spiritual wisdom and synthesizing it with the western focus on success and business. The level of depth is astounding and it is not a book you can simply read once and forget. To get the most out of it requires multiple reads where each time you put into practice more and more of the principles, guidelines, and mindsets that are thoroughly laid out and described. I love the numerous references to many different notable people of humanity's history and present. Lao Tzu, Carl Jung, Alan Watts, Plato, Bruce Lee, Albert Einstein, and many many more.
The book focuses heavily on mindset to not only succeed in business but to be a happy and joyous person. After all, there's little point in success if you're still miserable in the end. Not only is your success driven by your mindset, but the ability to enjoy and truly reap the rewards of what you achieve.
However instead of the typical trite things like positive thinking, it at the core relies on the truths of our existence as is best described by eastern spiritual teachings. The emphasis is more on Zen Buddhism and Taoist thought, but it is not limited to just that. The way Edmond ties in wisdom with analogies and comparisons for western readers is brilliant and really helps deliver a much deeper level of understanding. The quotes are very well selected and the parables even more so. They greatly help in understanding what he is trying to convey and receive the information on a level beyond just intellectual thought.
I was most surprised by the level of depth and attention given to the emotional aspects of man. I find this is often avoided by many authors as the topics are more tricky and difficult to talk about and offer techniques for progress. There is no filler and no fluff, nothing that can be cut out without losing something vital.
Spirituality is often dismissed in the west. Ultimately however it is a crucial part of not only self development and actualization, but for living a happy and successful life no matter what path you take. This book will not be a fast read for most, but it is not overly technical or unnecessarily complex either keeping it very approachable and friendly.
While this book is a bit more focused on entrepreneurs, it is relevant to everyone involved with day to day activities that wishes to achieve something during their life. The majority of the book is applicable to people of all walks of life, at all stages in life. I cannot recommend this book enough and am already on my second read through! It has already changed how I see myself, others, and existence for the better and I am excited for what will come next.
The author most beautifully encapsulates what is needed to achieve and sustain success not only in our careers but also in our life. The road to success, whatever it may mean to you, is riddled with adversity, sacrifice, and suffering. The author does not deny nor minimize the extent of this. Instead, he formed the book’s contents as a remedy for individuals who want to find meaning in their suffering.
This book takes a patient approach in slowly guiding the reader through key ideas from students of Eastern and Western philosophies, and one would finish a chapter feeling enlightened and looking forward to applying philosophy in their life. The profound insights within this book would surely stir the poet and philosopher out of the reader, enabling them to see the perspective molded by Alan Watts, Lao Tzu, and the Stoics.
Let me share some of my personal notes from Edmond’s work: ‘This is what is meant by prioritizing. Sacrificing a lot of potential to realize some of it.’ ‘Do not waste the opportunity of failing in something you deeply value. Go all in and fail the same way, if circumstances demand it for your growth.’ ‘Perhaps habit is subject to change, and that is why lasting habits had change often in a lifetime. Always examine yourself if there’s any need for change.’
As a final note, this book helped me get out of a ‘velvet rut’ by replenishing my passion for excellence and philosophy. Wired for Success would definitely be among the few books that I would place on my main desk for easy reach. For those of you that had already received substantial success or are still in the making, I encourage you to take a read on this book. You might discover what you genuinely want in your pursuit of success.
The author talks about the nature of our society, how an individual gets driven by the norms of society from the very beginning of life. We’ve developed a goal-driven mindset and chasing one goal after another and forgotten the true meaning of living a life.
The book helps you to find your creative side. You’ll find mindsets, ideologies, and practical techniques that will not only allow you to reach your goals but to experience the satisfaction and fulfilment of living a human life. It presents philosophies and life values of some great people from history to learn from. Each chapter gives you something to think about.
I really find this thought fascinating and impactful that knowledge is a collection of information, but we should train ourselves to rationally think about this data and give the right meaning to it in order to find the truth.
📖 You’ll learn:
🔹 How our beliefs build our destiny and self awareness. 🔹 How different perspectives create different realities. 🔹 Need for inner contentment and adaptation. 🔹 How habits work and how we can make powerful habits. 🔹 Entrepreneurship applied for business owners. 🔹 Stages that brings us to make changes in attitude and behavior.
The book is very intriguing. It made me pause many times while reading it and made me think about it. I gained some new insights from the book and I recommend everyone to give it a read. I can call this book the first step towards enlightenment.
A must read for anyone on the path to self-improvement! Particularly impactful to those of us in need of a tune up, a rewiring of our methodology to life. The title and subtitles are spot on and are a precise prelude of the coming pages. Edmond Abramyan brings a refreshing amount of personal real world experience and struggles that are honestly and openly expressed. You hear of these people that came from nothing and made it. Then, you discover that he borrowed the first million from his dad to start the company. What a gift to be able to study and learn from a warrior who came to self-actualization out of the abyss and from what would otherwise have been a meager continuation on the hamster wheel.
These chapters contain universal truths and practices that have aided growth for millennia. Edmond also references struggles, behavioral patterns and mechanisms that the greatest minds exercised to conquer themselves. Unique to this book is Abramyan’s clever approach to the positive thinking arena, i.e. a delicate dissection and sober analysis of the human machine.
Simply brilliant! A well thought out, dazzlingly written road map to unlocking your full potential. My small team will each get a copy, as their success is ultimately my success. I have a feeling the world will benefit from and be asking for much more from Edmond Abramyan.
What I like about this book is that it mentions a wide range of philosophies/methods people can look into in order to try and understand their purpose in life. There is a focus on Eastern philosophies. The author brings up factors to consider with each method. In this way, the book is like an index - find the philosophical way that resonates with you most. Maybe you’ve tried a bunch of techniques in the past - this book will give you insights to go deeper. The methods are recapped concisely so people have a good impression of what they can expect if they were to pursue meditation, think about self-actualisation, or work with their reticular activating system. I feel like it’s a great starting point for someone that feels there must be more to their life, and starting to ask those big questions as they head down the personal development path. Personal, business and entrepreneurship areas are tied in together nicely, with solid ideas on mindset weaving in and out. Although wellbeing and purpose in association with personal finance features strongly, this is a book that will make you think about which area of your life that you want to work on first. The author’s tone is matter-of-fact, easy to follow, and thankfully does not dictate. The author drops his points and leaves it up to the reader. I really recommend this book.
When reading Wired for Success: Practical Philosophies to Master Entrepreneurship & Live Life on Your Terms by Edmond Abramyan, I discovered many truths as well as things that I had programed myself to believe. It is not just a book on how to be an entrepreneur, to succeed in business, but one that will help you delve into the realm of who you really are and what has made you. It will help you to go inward so you can heal, grow, and become successful at what will ultimately make you happy.
I found things to help me let go of much that I had either programmed myself or as a child had been programed to believe of myself, where each year that I lived I added to that programming. Yet, you can reprogram yourself to be so much more than you could ever believe possible, find happiness and the success you want and what success means to you.
Instead of being hampered by old programming you can grow to be the person you are in your heart, mind, and soul.
I found this a very important work to read, and it is so much more than a self-help or a how to get rich book, it shows a path to a better, happier life, and yes healthier life. For one can discover those things that have held you in the belief of depression, illness, poverty (whether it be financially or of your mind.)
I've had the pleasure of being one of the earliest readers of Wired for Success (and even interviewed Edmond the author on my podcast as a result: https://tudorfd.com/podcast/56/ ) - and wow, this is a groundbreaker. It's an amazing synthesis of Eastern and Western wisdom applied to transforming your internal life, in order to change your external circumstances and succeed as an entrepreneur.
It combines extensive personal experience with science & philosophy to show you the techniques you need in order to overcome trauma, deal with limiting beliefs, build a huge business and live life on your terms.
I've read a lot of great self-development books (I'm sort of a junkie for them), and I can say that Wired for Success is amongst my top 10, largely due to the way it combines wisdom from two different traditions to deliver a working framework that you can use to transform your life on a day to day basis.
Man, oh, man! I was pleasantly surprised by this book! I don't think I have highlighted so many passages in a book before! This is one of those books that you should just read over and over again. Why? Because much of what he talks about in the book is not new thinking, but how he presents it is straightforward and makes it easy to revisit. Backed by quotes and stories from long-gone philosophers to modern-day gurus, the information makes you feel like you are not alone in these emotional struggles. It supports the idea that all these personal strives are most certainly connected to your entrepreneurial spirit. This aspect of the book is greatly appreciated. In the past, I have blamed my business troubles on "not being a business person." When in fact, many of these struggles can be improved by self-actualization! I highly recommend this book to anyone feeling stuck in their business. Sometimes the solution is not always what you think it may be.
I really enjoyed reading this book and the different perspectives it offers about success and the human mind. Definitely stands out from other self-improvement books with its easy-to-read approach, and the clever blend of mind-matter phenomena. As a hypnotherapist, I appreciate how he made it simple and easy to understand for someone who may not be as familiar with the unconscious mind’s direct effects on our success, day-to-day life, and decision making.
I definitely recommend this book to everyone who feels stuck and can’t see the steps towards their dream life. With Abramyan’s personal experiences and most importantly his own story, you are guaranteed to find the inspiration you need!
The author utilizes principles from Eastern and Westen philosophy to discuss how to be successful. He also mentions tidbits about the lives and challenges of successful people. How we interpret a situation is often more important than the situation itself. He encourages the reader to monitor thoughts and behaviors to ensure they support the habit you want to create and help to move you in the direction you want to go. This is not a fast read. It's best savored and I expect to come back to it for reference when situations arise that remind me of something I've read here.
Wired for Success is without argument one of the best personal development books that I have read, and I have read more than quite a few! Even though a good number of the philosophies that Edmond speaks about in his book are covered by others, Edmond goes deeper and breaks them down in a very practical and simple way. He then goes further to apply them to modern circumstances and business applications.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who is already or is just think about getting on the path of entrepreneurship. It's also for anyone who prefers to be their own leaders and think outside of the paradigm that has been setup for us.
Great insight into mindset and philosophy and its application in entrepreneurship.
As an experienced marketer and entrepreneur myself... there's very little I disagree with and there are many perspectives I hadn't even considered before.
If you care about freedom or success, this book right here will equip you with a whole arsenal of tools to deal with roadblocks you'll inevitably face on your journey. Hopefully you read and understand those insights before you face the setbacks they help with.
Worth the investment and now I'm trying to get my dad to read it too!
I needed this! This book beautifully portrayed impact and importance of "how we think" with simple analogies that anyone can understand. I have shattered so many false beliefs thanks to this book and it has motivated me become a better being every day.
