Stella's Diner is a very sweet debut from Elizabeth Suit. A story that is quite charming and full of hope and positivity. From what I could glean from the acknowledgments, Suit wrote about what she knew and that is being surrounded by wonderful family and friends. Our heroine, Lucy, has just that in her life and this book is basically her journey to finding her destiny. With her wonderful man, Jack, by her side, a bestie in Jenn, and caring parents, never did she imagine that a neighborhood diner would be a part of a drastic change in her life. But with owners Stella and Walt to guide her, her future has never looked brighter.

The entire story is delightful and has a spirituality that kept Lucy grounded and somewhat surprised as the pages flew by. The ethereal feelings she had while working at Stella's were not unfounded as Suit manages to give Lucy the faith she needs to find her way in the world. Most of the book is even-keeled with fade-to-black kind of love scenes and simple moments like having dinner with little or no drama.

The notion that the Lord works in mysterious ways could be a subtitle for all that transpires, especially in the latter half of the book. We are taken on a heavenly kind of trip which I felt solidified Lucy's desire to become something more than just a lowly assistant to a demanding boss.

Stella's Diner is a unique kind of reading experience that is perfect for those looking for something lighter and 'cleaner' and reminds me a bit of Debbie Macomber's work where for the most part, life is good. I could even imagine this story as a Hallmark movie since there is a simplicity that is evident right from the start and the characters are quite lovely no matter what is thrown at them.

I enjoyed this debut and hope I get to read more from this talented newbie author in the future.

It was so exciting to read a book written by an old friend! This was a fun & easy book to read. Lucy was lucky to have such a supportive family and a great friend to help her in her journey to realize her true calling in life. We all need a "Stella's Diner" where we always feel loved & welcomed.

Now eat slow and eat a lot… that was my favorite quote from this book.

I loved this charming story from a new author. The question of what if you could connect with family you’ve never met, or maybe that you only briefly remember. How each choice impacts not only your life, but the lives around you. This book felt like a warm hug.

Oh, my romance and women's fiction loving friends, this one is something special. Something … otherworldly. Ethereal. Supernatural. Truly, this is completely different than the vast majority of fiction out there, and its profound effect will live in my heart forever.

Lucy Swisher learned from an early age that being perfect made the people in her life happy. She’s working in her first job out of college, trying to be the perfect assistant, dog walker, errand runner and coffee fetcher.

Fortunately, one of Lucy's less-than-perfect moments results in finding the perfect boyfriend, firefighter Jack Miller. They haven’t dated all that long, but they're both committed to a future together and spend every possible minute together. They especially look forward to their date nights at Stella's Diner, their favorite restaurant in the city.

Having a boss who's never satisfied eventually makes Lucy leave her less-than-perfect job. She's a little panicked that she doesn’t have something else lined up, but Stella offers her a job at the diner while Lucy figures things out. It's not long before we realize that there's something very different about Stella's, and the people there are anything but ordinary.

In this first offering, Suit tackles the age-old question that faith has long offered comfort in but science has yet to provide an answer to. What happens in the in-between? For Lucy, it's a warm, inviting place surrounded by family and love. A place with no cares, no burdens, and no need to be perfect. A place so compelling, it leaves Lucy with a choice. Probably the first choice she's ever had to make on her own, and one that will change her life.

In a world filled with mayhem, madness, sorrow, and sadness, reading this story is like being lifted on angels wings, carried far above our human circumstances. It’s a breath of fresh air that gives life to the soul and reminds us what really matters. This story is why I read fiction. To escape the physical world, find renewal for my spirit, and restore my hope. To remind me that a benevolent force greater than myself has a divine plan, no matter how dire things may seem.

This book won’t be for every reader. But for those looking for something that will encourage your heart and make your soul smile, this will be one of your top reads this year. One you’ll wish would never end and want to return to time and again. Start reading today and let the magic of Stella's carry you away.

What an incredibly sweet read! Lucy has such a good heart and always wants to try and make sure everyone else is happy. She is given the unique opportunity to discover her own true path, one that she determines rather than what she thinks will make everyone else satisfied.

She is blessed with sweet family and friends, including the new ones that she finds at Stella's. Her boyfriend, Jack, is absolutely the sweetest! He understands her need for putting others first, as he does via his career as a firefighter. There are several moments throughout where I feel there are signs that they were destined to be together from the very first coffee splash.

If you are looking for a book that is too good to be true in comparison to the real world, this one will give you escape you need. It's full of kindness, compassion, and love. Even the hardships that occur are lightened to keep the flow with the storyline. It is an incredible story that I took my time reading because I didn't want the softness to end!

I received a complimentary ARC for reviewing purposes. All opinions are my own.

Lucy decides to quit her job that feels like hell and is just fed up with, and surprisingly gets offered a job that will change her life. Along, the way she blooms and gains confidence. But, just as everything is going great, the world has other plans for her.
I Fell in love with the characters especially Jack, who wouldn’t want a love like theirs. It was sweet and emotional and had me in tears with a great storyline. Wish it was a series though. Can’t wait to read more by Elizabeth.

I received an ARC copy for an honest review. I absolutely love Lucy’s relationship with her boyfriend.

Stella’s Diner is about a young woman whom has grown up having others make big decisions for her. How will she handle having to make her own life choice?

This book is a clean read that could possibly be considered under the genre of religious.

This book was a pleasant and delightful read. From what I had read it was veery clean and sweet, which is different from the books I usually read. Elizabeth Suit did an amazing job and she knew what she wanted to write.

The book is about this young women being constantly surrounded by her loving family and friends. It follows along Lucy's journey through life and the choices she eventually makes that will last a life time. Of course her support system was always there, whether it was her loving and supportive. man; Jack, her best friend Jenn, and her adoring family. But not in her wildest dreams would she had ever thought that the little neighbour diner be apart of her support system.

The way this books makes you feel certain feelings and how it is portrayed is wonderful. There are some twists in the books that you don't fully expect makes it a heavenly experience. You are taking on this rollercoaster ride not knowing what to expect. I definitely enjoyed this read and would highly recommend.

heartwarming read

I purchased this book based off a post I saw in a book group I’m in on Facebook.

The story is sweet and it’s a beautiful storyline. I love the story of Jack and Lucy and how everything is connected. At times the details and story were a bit more than I’m used to, but it was a good read.

This didn’t start off feeling like a romance and I honestly was annoyed by a lot of Lucy’s inner monologue and even some of the things that happened to her feeling like she was the “poor-me” character that never gets a break but then everything falls into her lap.
There seemed to be a lot of detail which can be good but also overwhelming at the same time.
As I read further into the book I felt this sense that it was going to end like Lost or similar. I just couldn’t get past that feeling of missing a piece of the puzzle or being suspicious of everyone.
Though the drama and closure aren’t of the romantic kind and I wish there was more of a love story I was expecting, this was still a happy ending and I’m honored I was able to read this book for review.

This is an enjoyable debut from this author. Lucy suffers from anxiety, and she has been searching for her destiny, and she never dreamy that a diner would change her life forever. Jake is Lucy’s firefighter boyfriend, and he is sweet, patient, and understand about why she puts everyone before herself. This is a good story which is sweet, and with family, friendships, drama, and is an endearing and charming little page turner. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Good story in the end.

While I did like the premise of the book, the execution could have been better. I did find Lucy's story to be interesting, but the explanation of what exactly the dinner was or was supposed to be was confusing to me. There were also several typos, lots of repeating or unnecessary sentences, and the book seemed to drag on in parts. Overall, the story was a cute idea, and we would all love to be able to talk to loved ones who have passed, it just could have been cleaner overall.

I don't know what I was expecting when I read the blurb but I am pretty sure this was not it. Anyways, nowhere in the blurb was mention of romance so I presume it's on me to have assumed.
This story is about family and making decisions and a lot of praying.
I have nothing against it obviously, it was just unexpected.
Not sure how I feel. Yes I did enjoy it but I wouldn't say I loved it.
