*ARC received from author in exchange for my honest review. *

This book was fast paced, heavy on the instalove and with so much spice I needed to check myself a few times while reading it. The world that Alexandra Christine created was as beautiful as it was trying. Sila's struggles were both physically and emotionally trying and the only thing he wanted to do was find his forever home but getting away from his abusive ex was his priority.

When he finally sets his eyes upon his mates (YESSS HONEY MATES, PLURAL) he can't possibly believe that they would want him, so he runs. It isn't long until Everitt and Lula catch him and all those hopes, dreams and wishes he had are coming true.

With his ex still on the hunt for him Sila doesn't wasn't to let his guard down, but he can't deny how fast he is falling for his mates. What happens if his ex finds him? Will Everitt and Lula be able to protect him from the man who hurt him, or will he be back in his clutches before he is ever mated?

These are the kinds of books that I adore!! They are dark and tragic at times but when that beauty shines through and those characters come together it is nothing short of swoony!! I loved Daddy Everitt so much! Holy lord, he was hot. Lula was sexy, sassy and head over heels for both Sila and Everitt. Then sweet Sila, him finding not only his mates but himself was everything!!

I'll be waiting for the next book in the Season of Shifters where we will get so much more of this pairing and maybe even Killian's HEA!!

New author for me. Short ménage with MMF. Hurt and comfort. Ev and Lula are already an established relationship. Sila is the one on the run. Sweet and kinky. I liked the characters, the dreams and the bonding without having to bite. I will say it was fast paced to the point it felt rushed. It was loud. Felt like sitting in on drama class. Nothing subtle about this one. For a straight forward quick read it was alright. I'm curious about Killian and Buck.

Pairing - Ev, Sila, Lula (wolves)
Bad guy - Xane

This was a super short but spicy read from a new author and she did fabulous for it being her first! It was fast paced but I still feel like I know these characters and the piece of their background that was given. Kind of instalove but not. Fated mates. Sword crossing. DP. Ménage. 🥵

ARC REVIEW:
This story was short, fast paced with a whole lot of spice and it’s exactly what had me glued to the book from the first sentence. The character development was paced well allowing me to connect with them and their instant lust/love for each other was so gripping. They knew exactly what they wanted and didn’t hold back. Let’s also take a moment to appreciate the spice of the book🥵 It was definitely some coochie sweating smut and I was all here for it. The characters were so heartwarming and I truly felt the emotions they were feeling throughout key moments in the book.

I could not put this book down for a single moment and I cannot wait to see what Alex does with the next books!

ARC review

This is Alexandra’s first book! She did an amazing job! It’s a short, sweet and spicy story. It’s very fast paced, insta-love/insta-lust, fated mates MMF shifter romance. There is also insta-friendships in there. The characters development is very fast and I wished for a little more depth to how they heal from the extensive trauma they go through. I also wished for a little bit more world building on the different seasons and the specific characteristics/values/culture of their inhabitants. Overall it’s still a great first book and I’m excited to see what Alexandra comes up with in the next book of this standalone series!

Review trigger warnings: non-consensual sex, abuse, torture, MC killing a side character (I thought I'd mention this since neither the book nor the blurb give these warnings)

The good
+ Everitt and Lula welcoming Sila with open arms
+ Everitt protecting his mates very thoroughly

The neutral
o I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book. My review remains honest and unbiased
o The writing was amateurish and very fast-paced. There's definitely such a thing as too much inner monologue, but I think this book suffered from too little internal thoughts and impressions

The bad
- This book had no trigger warnings. The blurb only says: "TW: Abuse mentioned". The actual warnings should have at least included graphic rape, graphic abuse, graphic torture, and MC killing a side character. This book contained a lot of dark elements for such a sweet love story
- As for the rape: Sila was raped by his abuser. His new mates know this. They feel awful about it, but nobody even mentions it when they're going to have sex and use very vulgar terms that could be triggering to someone who went through what Sila went through (and that's ignoring the physical aspect of the trauma)
-
-
- The graphic depiction of Lula's situation was unnecessary to get the point across. Everitt saved her, that's what counts. Adding another scene of on-page rape that happened in the past was unnecessary
- Nobody was allowed any time to heal to get over their traumas

The romance between these three wolves was very sweet, and I loved the way they would've done anything for each other. However, the way sexual and emotional trauma was dealt (or most decidedly not dealt) with in this book was disgusting. Everything was all about sex, even immediately after one of the characters being raped, and nobody was allowed any time to heal emotionally. Probably physically too, now that I think about it. Years and years of mental, physical and sexual abuse leave marks. Sila and Lula should've been given time to heal and their pasts should have been taken seriously, instead of being overshadowed by immediate sex. I think this was very problematic and I definitely wouldn't recommend reading this book.

This book is a great quick read, fast paced and alot of hot scenes. MMF insta-love.
There was character development you fell in love with all the main characters. From what we found out about the different realms I can't wait to discover more in the different seasons.
There are some triggers that you may want to check before continuing.
There was definitely potential for this to be a full length and would love to have seen more of the back stories of all the characters.
The spice is this book 👌 will have you clenching it is hot and heavy.
For an introduction to Alexandra's work this is promising for good thing to come in her other standalone in the series.

Scares We Shared was a quick, spicy, heart warming story that we should all be adding to our TBR.

I loved the spice. It was top notch and will have you sweating 🥵.

I loved how straight to the point it was. Lula, Sila, and Everett knew exactly what they were looking for and made it happen.

I loved that the moral of the story was you are worthy of love. Everyone is worthy of love ❤️

This comes out in May & I 10/10 recommend it. You will not be disappointed.

This was an enjoyable short read. It was also a hurt/comfort story. There were some hot scenes. I wished there were more of backstory for Silas. But it's a good read.

Honestly, the writing of the book was just weird to me. Things that the characters said I felt like should have been an inner monologue. I love the cover but the book was just eh to me

This was not the book for me, but it definitely showed promise because, if I remember correctly, this was Alexandra Christine's first book and the bones were absolutely there. The idea of a mated shifter pair looking for their third really was great and I thought it was sweet how very into finding their third Everitt and Lula were. Plus, throw in a daddy kink and a lot of threesomes mixed with some insta-love, and you've got a solid foundation for people looking for a quick (smutty) novella-like shifter romance.

What didn't work for me, though, was the writing style. It almost felt too juvenile? And Sila absolutely felt like a child, which I just did not vibe with because, even though he wasn't, his weird childlike behavior made the age gap feel huge which is not my thing. It would have been fine if the play had been kept to the bedroom scenes, if that makes sense, but to permanently be in that daddy/baby scenario messed with me. I also wish that the trauma and abuse scenes had been handled with way more care. Yeah, this was basically a longer novella so there wasn't a lot of time, but to immediately go from what Lula and Sila went through, straight into romps in the nest felt icky and I just wish there had been more discussion or time between those situations.

This was a good start, for sure, and there is absolutely an audience for this story, I just think I might have to come back and try this author again when she has a few more books under her belt.

🌶️🌶️🌶️ 🌶️

After escaping from an abusive relationship, Sila finally finds his happiness with Everitt and Lula.
I was not expecting the tragic past of Sila and Lula but, it is pretty dark. Sila in particular experiences some heavily intense abuse. Things escalate VERY quickly between Sila, Lula, and Everitt once they finally find each other. Lots of 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️ follows from the first meeting. Everitt is extremely protective of Lula and Sila and he does not hesitate to demonstrate that.
I did find the concept of how the world they live in is broken up into seasons unique!

I did receive this as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

**ARC REVIEW**
This story is fast paced and easy to read with lots of spice! I was glued to the pages as soon as I opened it. I love the connection to each of the characters and the instant love for each other was off the charts. They are faced with such tragic situations that it is truly beautiful when they find love. Silas current situation is very dark and it makes it that much sweeter when they all come together. The fact that he is still so sweet and “bratty” shows how much his mates have healed him. We learn of how Lula overcame her monster and how Everett helped her to become her sexy and sassy self. I only wish we got a little more of Everitt’s backstory but you defiantly get his present…DADDY EV! I just love how possessive and sweet he is and how much Sila & Lula mean to him.

I don’t read many PNR or mates but I loved this this book! I am very much looking forward to book two! You defiantly get immersed in their world. For her first book, I think it was done well and captured your attention.

TRIGGER WARNING: RAPE

I’m not adding a spoiler warning because someone might skip over this is there is one

Okay I dnf’d this because it royally annoyed me. This book had not one but two graphic on page grape scenes. While I’m a lover of all things dark romance this author did not include trigger warnings or even a link TO trigger warnings in the the beginning of the book or on Amazon and while non-consent was listed goodreads that does not accurately describe the grape that happened.

To make it worse the first scene was an anal grape and the second grape was the double penetration of a man. These scenes in no way added to the story and the first grape was a flash back from ten years ago and the character even said they had healed from it. I’m actually blown away because only 1 review on goodreads mentioned that this book did NOT have good enough triggers.

ARC REVIEW

For @alexandra.reads first book I thought she did a really great job! This novella had a great plot line. Definitely check the triggers before going in!

What I loved most was that it was different from most shifter romances. The “main” character that the storyline is following is a male. In most I’ve read it’s a female shifter out trying to find her mates and I really liked this change in dynamic. Sila is an absolute sweetheart and I really felt for him.

Everitt and Lula are the other MMC and FMCs. I loved how protective Everitt was and Lula was just this fun, bright spot. They all worked so well together.

There were a few points that I wish would have been a little more detailed but with it being a novella I understand why they weren’t.

Definitely a super fun, quick read!

I was able to read an ARC of this book and I really enjoyed it! This story is about Isla, Lula and Everitt. Isla is a sweet wolf shifter who fell in love with the wrong man. Little does he know his fated mates are eagerly waiting for him. He battles with an inner demon constantly thanks to the trauma he has been through but there is hope for him. Everitt is the “big bad wolf” of this story and protector of anyone he loves. He is fierce, loyal, and simply bad ass. Lula is a feisty wolf shifter that was saved by Everitt from a very abusive relationship. She is bratty but also so loving. This is a great book for someone who enjoys a short fated mates, insta-love, wolf shifters, smut, and a story of overcoming trauma. Please keep in mind this book does include some pretty dark on page scenes.

seasons and shifters

Wow, first congrats to Alex for her debut novel, I am so proud and happy for her to following her dreams.

Second, absolutely loved it. I loved the characters and the plot, the love, it was sweet all around. In the end they all save each other in some way or another and I love that about the story, each has a different issue they are dealing with and they helped each other work through those problems. Plus the spice was pretty dang good too if I do say so myself. My only complaint is I honestly wish it was longer, I would have loved to get more background on Everitt or even just in general, more bout each of the characters and their lives, but overall for a debut novel, beautifully done. Can’t wait to see what comes next in book 2!

OMG! Wow talk about a hot, kinky, rough, raw, sexual scenes the kind that are taboo, emotional kinky smut makes you hot as if the heater had been turned on in the Summer. The dreams one has wishing their mate to come find them they are ready to shower him with love, that was what Lulu and Everitt felt they needed to complete them. Sila was running for his life when Buck found him tired he helped Silas and then guided him in the direction he needs to go. I wanted more I didn't want to put the book down.

“We share our scars and our pain, but now we also share our love.”

I adore these characters and this story so much! Alexandra Christine had me completely falling head-over-heels in love with these characters. The bond they share is so special, beautiful, and uniquely them. They share their scars and their love and together they make one another whole. The way they all come together so completely both physically and mentally is truly stunning to see. Like broken pieces finally being mended.

I can’t even put all of my thoughts into words, but trust me when I say you’ll want to read this book!

Scares we shared is Alexandra’s debut novella not that you would think it when you read her work.

This is a fast paced short and spicy story. I do wish there was more about their pasts and their healing but this is a novella and I’m just being greedy.

Lilia Everett and Sila are perfect together and wow did I need to fan myself after some of their antics? Yes… yes I did

I honestly can’t wait to read more about the season of the shifters world.

I was sent an arc from the author in return for my honest review

I was intrigued by Scars We Shared, the first book in the Seasons of Shifters series as well as the debut novella of Alexandra Christine. This is a quick, instalove story with some hot scenes. Smut galore in the best possible way.

But it could have been so much more. I was not sold on the dialogues and the inner monologues, which at times felt too much and some a bit immature. The story could have benefited from further character development. So there is room for improvement. Having said it, the world Alexandra created shows promise and I'm curious to see what comes next.

Ev and Lula are fated mates and are on the search for their third. Sila is on the run from an abusive ex and doesn't believe he has fated mates.

Smut ensues, the ex is vanquished and these three get an HEA.

The writing style for me is why I couldn't give it higher than a 3. The story/plot was good and the spice was decent, but the writing style was difficult at some points to push through.

Wow, this little novella brought out all of the emotions. Alexandra is a new author and instead of dipping her toes in to romance she dove head first into monster smut. I’m so here for it!

This book was emotional, so make sure you check those triggers. But it was also sexy and so full of love. Alexandra did a great job of showing what mates and love it supposed to be like. I can’t wait to delve more in to this world and other characters in it.

This is my first shifter romance book and I it! There is a lot of mystery around the reveal/discovery of them being a shifter. I enjoyed that element of surprise. You are sitting on the edge of your seat not knowing how their love interest will react. This story is very well written with an action packed story. I would definitely read more from this author. TRIGGERS: abuse, Sa, torture, murder

It was to cringey for me..

So I read this super quick since it’s a short novella. I really was excited to read this because it’s written by a booktoker/bookstagrammer I love! But sadly this was just not for me..

I should have counted the number of times daddy was said. I am not a supporter of calling people daddy because it just is creepy & weird to me. I felt like this was too fast & not put together well enough. Some editing was off too.

Scars we shared

Love that the world is made of the season. Everitt is the hero of both Lula and Sila,
It would make finding your other half harder to find, as Lula and Everitt is learning.
Sila can banish the negative effects from the cruelty thrown at him, who would be willing to claim him with scars line him fro from to to bottom. Finding his fated mates the vision showed him maybe easier then excepted but what of the demon that haunts his mind and body.

Sila, Lula and Everitt were easy characters to connect with in this short, fast paced, menage shifter romance. This does deal with trauma and other possibly triggering aspects/elements, please take note of the trigger warnings before reading. Overall this is a great debut and an enjoyable read.
