Love You, Maine #3

Love You More

Rate this book
Colleen Luview's love life is cursed. No—really. The small-town nurse is notorious in her touristy mountain community. After every third date she's ever had, the guy ends up in her emergency room.

She's untouchable now, and it's not her fault.

Resolved to branch out and find a way to have a life with a partner, children, meaning, and free from being a love pariah in a town devoted to it, she decides to leave her beloved Love You, Maine—where every day is Valentine's Day—to find a bigger dating pool.

And a better nickname.

Moore Mottin hates feeling like damaged goods. Married and divorced twice before thirty, he has a fourteen-year-old from a teenage pregnancy, was cheated on during his second wedding, and now even his best friend, Luke Luview, considers him the butt of every bad-luck joke when it comes to love.

When Luke's sister, Colleen, picks him up from the airport and a freak snowstorm forces them off the road, he rescues her from an icy pond and finds an old hunting cabin for shelter and safety. Vulnerable and shaking, the two give in to long-simmering feelings for each other, but when they're discovered in the worst way possible, what seemed like a new lease on life turns into a life-altering mess.

Can Moore and Colleen overcome all the obstacles holding them back from a love that's been in front of their faces all this time?

If you're looking for a story featuring two star-crossed lovers doomed by unfair reputations, featuring a smooth-talking single dad who runs a jewelry store and his best friend's sister, set in a small town in New England, with a calico cat named Sandwich, a heroine with a dry wit and a can-do attitude, and a hero who just wants a good relationship with his estranged child and the chance to find permanent love…then this is your book.

Grab a cup of coffee or tea, and maybe some peanut butter for your burger (what? It's a thing…), and get your happy meter ready as you read the third book (a standalone!) in the Love You, Maine series—where love isn't just a feeling…it's a way of life.

Colleen Luview and Moore Mottin. They may live in Luview, Maine, the love capitol of the world, but when it comes to love they epitomize the old saying, “If it weren’t for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all.” Moore's romantic relationships have been ruled by circumstances, responsibility, and yes, bad luck.

And Colleen? Well, the girl is legendary in New England, and her infamy is quite unfounded, I might add. Just because a handful of guys have gotten hurt and ended up in the ER after a third date with her, that's no cause for her being known as Third Date Colleen. Or for the dry spell she has no choice but to endure.

But a ride home from the airport during a white-out snowstorm may just change things. Oh, not their luck, because they end up in a wrecked truck submerged in water, and Moore frees Colleen then breaks into a small cabin to save both of their lives. Having known each other their entire lives and both hiding secret crushes, the skin to skin contact to stop hypothermia may just ignite the fire between them and really heat things up.

They say love conquers all, but it sure has its work cut out for it with Colleen and Moore. It seems like everything possible conspires against them, and it's a rough road full of bumps, potholes and washouts on their road to forever. But this is, after all, a romance, and we already know love will prevail.

If you’ve never read a JK book, you’re really missing out! This one had me laughing my asterisk off through the whole thing, but Kent suffuses the humor with extraordinarily relatable characters, a delightfully quirky small-town setting, and so, so much heart! This one has all the elements of an amazing rom-com, and you'll love every minute you spend in this fictional world. Hilarious, heartfelt, smexy and satisfying, this is one of my favorite reads this year and one you won’t want to miss!

At only 27, single dad Moore Mottin has a string of failed relationships including two divorces. He seems to be attracted to the wrong women.

As long as she can remember, Colleen Luview has had a huge crush on her little brother’s best friend. Also pretty unlucky in love, Colleen is nicknamed Third Date Colleen because anyone who makes it to that many dates with her soon ends up in her ER!

“Your only curse is that you date dumbasses who believe there’s a curse.” …
“You date men so clumsy and insecure, they create conspiracy theories about you.”
“No. Worse. I date men who use the word wiener, apparently.”

The story starts right off with a real bang or two including a near death experience that reminds both Moore and Colleen that life is too short.

“The worst day of her life followed by the best night of her life followed by her baby brothers busting in on her in flagrante delicto with a man her brother thought he could beat up.
To… what? Save her honor?
That ship had sailed so long ago, it had a pirate flag attached to it.”

Love You More is hilariously funny, full of wonderfully quirky characters and doesn’t skimp on heat and heart!

I am never disappointed and am always completely captivated by everything Julia writes and Love You More is no exception except, it actually is. Stay with me. If you've read at least one Julia Kent story you already know that you will find amazing banter, witty repartee, quirky characters, words and content that you will have to look up. You know you will laugh out loud, more than a few times. You know you will have some emotional moments and some wonderful sexy time. Again, Love You More has all that in spades. This story, though, went a little deeper than the usual. You have this woman whom the town deems cursed, who only wants to find the love and family she's always wanted although it may seem like her options are limited these days. Then you have Moore who feels cursed because he has had to fight so hard for the respect he deserves, especially from the people who should love him most. A near death experience changes everything for these two and they will need to fight for their happiness and to break their curses.

I really feel like people are sleeping on this series!!

I absolutely loved Colleen and Moore's story. Their reputations really did a number on them and honestly, Luke Luview, Colleen's brother and Moore's best friend really made things worse for them throughout this book. I was so mad at how insensitive and selfish he came across after finding them in a compromising position, ESPECIALLY after what they had just been through. He was not very kind to his sister OR his best friend and perhaps if he hadn't been medling since they were teens, they wouldn't have gone through everything they did.

Anyways...this book made me laugh a lot but it also had me shedding a few tears, but mostly I just fell in love with Moore and Colleen and their intense feelings for each other. Their story could come across as instalove if you didn't pay attention to their history but I enjoyed that they seemed to not only welcome their feelings from the very start, but they embraced them.

I just really love everything about this whole series and I can't wait to see what comes next from in Love You, Maine.

Second Chance at Love

5 ⭐️’s is always what I always give any book, written by Julia Kent. Truthfully they are always that good. They are always entertaining, full of emotions, some angst, but always a love story with a beautiful romantic HEA.
Moore is a young man who has made several mistakes in his life, but is hard working, and dedicated to his son. A son from an accidental teenage pregnancy. His life is made difficult by his son’s mother. She is a self centered, sometimes harsh woman.
Colleen is a young woman, working as a nurse in the local hospital, at Love You Main. She is the only daughter of the Luview family. As Moore is best friends with Luke, Colleen’s brother, he has also been best friends with Colleen. Both Colleen and Moore have always had a crush on each other, but never verbalized their feeling. Unfortunately Colleen is known as three date Colleen, because after each third date, her dates have had a severe accident, and end up in her hospital’s ER
A severe accident occurs, when Colleen goes to pick up Moore, at the airport. Stranded at an abandoned cabin, they get really close, but Luke’s anger causes his sister to be angry, and embarrassed.
Bitterness continues between Luke and Colleen, while Moore attempts to rekindle his relationship with Colleen. Several obstacles occur to prevent the relationship from getting stronger between Moore and Colleen, so they begin a hidden relationship.
The arrival of Jordy, Moore’s son, from a teenage pregnancy, things get more complicated for the couple. The previous stressful relationship between Moore and Jordy has become better, and Jordy is anxious to come live with Moore. One simple statement by Jody, causes more stress between Colleen and Moore, and they must continue to hide their relationship.
Moore goes to help the Luview family to help restore their campground property, and has a severe accident. Due to this accident, he is hospitalized, and unconscious. This emergency finally brings all the family together, and to accept the relationship between Moore and Colleen.
After his release from the hospital, Moore and Colleen become a true couple, with no more hiding their relationship. They finally obtain their HEA, and become a family, with Jordy in their lives.

This is the third book in Julia Kent's Love You Maine series and as are the others it is a great book, grabs you from the first page and has you saying just another page another chapter and before you know it is it the early hours of the am! Colleen Luview and Moore Mottin have know each other all of their lives. Moore is her brother's best friend, he has not had an easy time with relationships, his first marriage was because there was an unexpected baby, his second ended because his wife cheated during the reception. Colleen's is not much better, she has earned herself a nick name where the result is every man she has dated ends up in the ER where she is a nurse. Colleen picks up Moore from the airport and that is where their adventure begins. There is an accident that leaves them stranded in a snow storm in a cabin, with compromising positions, nakedness and so much more! This book is written in true Julia Kent fashion, it has a bit of everything, tears, laughs, steam just to mention some. Will Colleen find true love? Will she always be cursed? You will have to read this book to find out. I look forward to reading the next book in this series. As always once again Julia Kent did not disappoint!

emotion filled roller coaster

Welcome back to Love You, Maine! Colleen is the only girl in the Luview family and 2nd oldest of 4 kids. Colleen has been in love with her brother Luke’s best friend since high school but not only is he younger, and forbidden by her brother, but like her he is cursed in love. Colleen is know as 3 date Colleen because every time she dates the guy ends up in her er after the 3rd date from some injury or illness that has nothing to do with Colleen but doesn’t stop the comments. Moore has been married and divorced 2x by the time he’s 27. Cammie is his 1st wife he married when she got pregnant in high school. She stole his son Jordy when he was 5 moving to CA and hiding for a year before Moore found them. It takes a near tragedy to get Moore and Colleen to admit their feelings. But a lifetime of misunderstandings, lies and secrets, plus worry about what others think, especially Jordy and Luke, cause a lot of heartache and wasted time. You will probably shed a few tears reading this but you will also laugh a lot. You get to catch up with the rest of the family and the end sets you up for book 4 and finally getting Dennis Luview’s story.

These two need some good news as they have nicknames to break.

Colleen and Moore have had a silent thing for each other since high school. Colleen being two years older than Moore and her brother Luke. Luke made Moore promise at age 14 to never fall for his sister. At Moore’s senior prom his desired date wasn’t available so instead he finished the evening with a broken condom and a pregnant sort-of girlfriend.

Colleen has kept quiet about her crush on Moore and considers him one of her best friends. She babysat for Jordy a lot after he was born and is gaming buddies with the teenager now. Moore is divorced twice and he is under thirty years old. Colleen is nicknamed the third date terror as all of her dates get into accidents after their third date.

Colleen picks up Moore from the airport in a snowstorm. They end up flipped in a pond and Moore saves Colleen. Being a nurse Colleen realizes she is going into hypothermia and she and Moore need to get naked to warm her up. When Luke finds them the next day naked under the covers he looses it.

Moore and Colleen decide to take this new romance public but several things stop them. Are they destined to be together or apart?

Strap yourselves in and hold on for the ride, ladies and gentlemen. This is a bumpy one. I kind of feel like it was obvious in the earlier books that there was something extra in the feelings Colleen and Moore had for one another, even though neither one was prepared to admit it out loud. There’s the deep and abiding friendship of two people that grew up a part of one another’s families, but that’s not all. I loved watching these two as they revealed their true feelings for one another, even when it hurt my heart to see everything else they had to deal with at the same time. And Jordy? This kid’s situation didn’t just hurt my heart, it darned near broke it. But at the same time, these characters kept me howling with laughter until they got their Happily Ever After. The Easter eggs referencing the author’s other series were perfectly placed and so much fun, making me want to go back and read about those events again. Now that we’ve got one more Luview paired up, I can’t wait to see what the author has planned for the next of Deanna and Dean’s children.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.

This third book in the Love You, Maine series, comes in with bang and keeps you engaged and captivated until the very end. Moore Mottin has had thing for his best friend's sister but having made a stupid teenage promise to his friend, he knows it can never go further. Colleen Luview has had a crush which blossomed into more with her brother's best friend, but doesn't want to risk ruining their good friendship. So for half their life, they have danced around their attraction; fear making them waste the opportunity to have something great. But when a serious accident puts them in danger and strands them together in a remote cabin, truths come out and the balance of their relationship changes. As both Moore and Colleen seem to have the worst luck EVER, have meddling family and Moore has son who makes his dad promise that he will never make him have a stepmother, life is conspiring to keep them single.
Within this roller coaster ride of a story, I laughed, I cried, and I felt the love for each other and family coming through the pages. This story just enveloped me in a huge hug and gave my emotions a full workout.

Colleen Luview Gets Her Story!!

Colleen is an ER nurse. She has a dating issue, in that after each third date she’s ever had, the guy ends up in her emergency room. She is untouchable now. We join the action as she is picking up family friend, and best friend to her brother Luke, Moore Mottin. Moore has his own history; married and divorced twice before age thirty.

The airport trip adds one more casualty to Colleen’s dating pool. With a major snow storm in progress Colleen and Moore decide to try for his Uncles cabin rather than the long drive back to Luview. Events occur that have these two confessing they each have been attracted to the other.

Relationships and family become even more complicated in this story. It is an amazing, emotional read. Quite enjoyable, definitely humorous, and at times leaving the reader breathless. I’m pretty sure this would stand on its own, but I have read every single story in this series and each is better than the one before. If you have not “been” to Luview yet, you are truly missing out!

5 star review Love You More (Love You, Maine #3) by Julia Kent
I could not wait to read Love You More, book three in Julia Kent’s latest series. It was everything I was hoping for and more. It was well written, entertaining and with wonderful characters whose story you cannot help but quickly become invested in.

This is Colleen Luview and Moore friends to lovers story and one that ticked the boxes for me. These two have a history, as he is her brother Luke’s best friend. However unbeknown to one another they have both had serious feelings for the other for a number of years. If only one or both of them would take the chance ad admit the truth.

There were moments my heart was in my throat as I read this book. I feared for both of them and doubted if they would get the happily ever after that they deserve. I was frustrated by the back and forth and the fact that neither of them wanted to take a chance and admit to their feelings and Luke’s reaction was over the top. However once the walls come crumbling down it was entertaining to watch them finally evolve their relationship.

This was an entertaining, witty, emotional story that ticked all the boxes for me.

I love this series and don’t want it to end at all! It’s so funny, cute, and just the perfect series of rom coms that I adore so much. Moore has been friends with Luke and Colleen their whole life, and after a promise to Luke that he’d never date his sister when they were 14, Moore keeps that promise for decades. In the beginning of this book, Colleen and Moore find themselves in a tragic situation that brings them close enough to finally admit their attraction to each other.

A few weeks later, they are dealing with the effects of that night and find themselves hiding their relationship to make Luke and Moore’s son happy. Moore’s son Jordy is teenage boy caught between his parents and his mother made me want to strangle someone with how she acts. Jordy is dealing with his parents in his own way and that is by asking his dad to stay single which is an issue considering he’s dating Colleen. With everything that happens in this book with the curses, the promises and how much both Colleen and Moore’s life is changing, they struggle to figure out how to make it all work. I loved their journey and cannot wait for Dennis’s book!

Love You More is the third book in the Love You, Maine series. It can be read as a standalone book, though the heroine's brothers and their wife/fiancée are in this from books one and two.

Colleen is a nurse in Luview, Maine, best known as a charming small town, love and Valentine's themed all year long. Sadly, the town calls her "Third Date Colleen" because everyone she has had a third date with has ended up hurt and in her emergency room.

Moore and Luke, Colleen's brother, have been best friends all of their lives. Colleen gets in a bad accident in a snowstorm after picking Moore up from the airport. With all the adrenaline, and stuck in a cabin overnight, will these two turn to each other for comfort and affirmation of life? How will things translate into every day life and their friendship? This small-town romcom is full of all the laughs and feelings you could possibly want while you cheer on Colleen and Moore.

What is it about Julia Kent's writing that makes my cynical, wary heart get all mushy?! This town of Luview, Maine and its myriad of uniquely quirky and kooky residents, well, there's no resisting them. I must confess, though, that Colleen Luview and Moore Mottin's story had that bit of something that just made it stand out even more than the other books in the series that came before it. I couldn't help but feel for these main characters and everything they went through before and after they got together. They were two people who deserved their happily-ever-after, and maybe all it took was for them to realize that they were meant to be with the one person who was always there--each other. I laughed, got teary-eyed a couple of times, and most of all, I simply fell in love with Colleen and Moore. While Love You More may be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading the Love You, Maine series in order. Book three snags five-plus stars.

Think these 2 are my favorite couple of series.

I absolutely love the Love You, Maine series and Colleen and Moore have to be my favorite. They grew up together. He is Luke's best friend and she is Luke's older sister. So we get brother's best friend, age gap (small as it is), cursed love, single dad and some many more tropes all rolled into this beautiful love story.
Colleen is the true caregiver of Luview, an ER nurse, its in her blood. She is known as 3 date Colleen cause after 3 dates the guy ends up in her emergency room.
Moore is a twice divorced and single dad who runs the family jewelry store. Together they know just about everything there is to know about each other but some many circumstances, events and just plain fear keep them apart until an accident brings them together.
Well written characters and plots. Love the interactions with other townsfolk and the families. Julia has another winner. Now unto Dennis Luview's story.

Colleen Luview aka Third date Colleen is cursed in the romantic world of Love You Maine. One night as she goes to pick up her best friend Moore from the airport everything changes for both of them. A series of events will set their lives on a path that they both were dreaming of but never acted upon. When your life is defined by failed dates where accidents happen on the third date everytime, you tend to be weary of dating. Moore got a girl pregnant at 17 and was forced to step up by his parents beleiving that he was a mess his whole life. Between Colleen and Moore, there can be only friendship because her brother Luke made Moore promise not to date his sister. After living through Luke's wrath and the emotional turmoil about coming out, something dramatic happens to make everybody poise and come out with what's important...LOVE! Poignant, action packed, ugly cry, sexy, Love you story! i volunteered to review this great story!

I can’t get enough of this series! I love the whole concept of small town living but in a town that is perpetually Valentine’s Day. Book three focuses on Colleen (the sister to the brothers of the previous books) and Moore (Colleen’s brothers best friend). This book is very much “it’s always been you” book but time has gotten away from them and been over a decade not sharing how the other feels about each other. In the first half when life or death is on the line, we get to see the thawing of their relationship and the real hope this could be more. But as the book goes on, it’s one thing after another keeping them apart. They both as different times in the book feel they are curse by events that have happened throughout their lives, hindering their ability to have a HEA. After the huge plot twist at the end, we really see all the healing from Moore and him being able to let go of all his past mistakes. While this isn’t my favourite in the series, it was still a perfect addition to it.

This is the 3rd book in this incredible series, and this is Colleen and Moore’s story. Moore is Colleen’s brothers’ best friend, who has been married and divorced twice by the age of 30 and has a 14-year-old son Jordy, from a teenage pregnancy. Colleen is the only daughter in her family, and she is a nurse in the local hospital, who has a reputation off being cursed, as after every 3rd date her boyfriend ends up in the ER after an accident. When Colleen picks Moore up from the airport they end up stranded, but can they move on from friends / lovers? This is a well written story which has emotions, drama, challenges, humor, witty banter, forced proximity, secrets, tragedy, family, friendships, and is a heartfelt and steamy laugh out loud page turner, which is a quirky and delightful small-town romance.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Another visit to Luview, Maine and another quirky couple to fall in love with. This time it’s Colleen Luview and Moore Mottin’s friends to lovers story and it’s a great addition to this wonderful series.
Colleen can’t seem to get a break in the dating scene everyone she meets end up with accidents happening to them. Destined to spend her life alone she decides to open up with her feelings for her brothers best friend but does he feel the same more importantly will he risk the friendship he has with Luke…….
This book has all the feels, it’s an emotional roller coaster, it’s witty, it has wonderful characters that you will fall in love with but more importantly it’s a journey about love. It’s a story where this couple need to let their walls down if they any hope of a HEA and at times I wasn’t sure this would happen. This is an entertaining, witty story that will appeal to a wide range of audiences.

Love You, Maine #3

By Julia Kent

Rating: ⭐️5/5

Emotions: ❤️5/5

Colleen and Mottin

Living in Luview, Maine doesn’t make you a lucky person in the same department. Colleen Luview is an example therefore. Being cursed by bad luck with dates and secretly having a crush on her little brother’s best friend is her to go.

Mottin doesn’t have it any better. At 27 he is a twice divorced single father.

Both seem to be attracted and dating the wrong people.

When they under difficult circumstances are forced to be together and have tight contact to stop hypothermia, they get more heat than actually needed.

But who thinks so now that is it. No. They have to go a long and rocky road to their happy end. Seems everything is constantly working against them.

A wonderful rom-com with a lot of lovely characters that will take a constant place in your heart. Small town romance at its best.

Our heroine, Colleen Luview, and our Hero, Moore Mottin, have been best friends since childhood, since he's also her brother's best friend. Growing up in a small town, they would hang out together and both harbored feelings for the other, but never dared considered crossing the line. Both Colleen and Moore carried relationship baggage and stigmas which provided convenient excuses as adults not to cross the line...until Mother Nature and fate literally forced them together.
Author Julia Kent books always brings her characters to life through heartfelt emotional dialogues, whether internal or external. She pairs the emotional moments with plenty of laugh our loud hilarity which is what makes her stories so enjoyable! Colleen and Moore's sloooow burn relationship is full of complexity which is what makes their happily ever after so well deserved! Love this series!

Curses: Real or Not?

Julia Kent provides another exhilarating romp through and around the town of Love You, Maine. This time the protagonists: Moore Mottin and Colleen Luview have been friends all their lives. Sharing capers, adventures and difficult times all along. The "curses" thrown their way in their personal lives reflect how unlucky in love they've been. But that seems to be changing, for the better. However, there's definitely some problems along the way, including death defying accidents only Ms. Kent can describe in such realistic, heart rending and terrifying terms. Throw in an angst filled teenage boy, a sanctimonious younger Luview brother and a mischievous and loving cat named Sandwich and you have another brilliant, quirky and meaningful Love You fable.

**5 Laugh-Out-Loud Stars**

Julia Kent really knows how to deliver a funny, farcical story, which has heart and depth and pulls you in, has sadder moments and deeper moments. This audiobook has a bit of everything and was amazing.

Love You More is book 3 in the series, and it is really worth a listen. Colleen and Moore have both been separately very unlucky in love, Colleen as '3rd date Colleen' and Moore as twice divorced and a single parent. While they've had a long time crushes on each other since they were young, neither wanted to ruin their friendship, and so those feelings have never been mentioned or acknowledged, and remained deeply buried until a fateful journey.

The world created by the author - the hilarious moments - the accident prone cat - all add up to a really rewarding listen, with perfect audio narration from the narrators. This is a complete standalone story. You do not need to have listened to the previous books to enjoy this.

Welcome back to Love You Maine where it's Valentine's Day year round! In Love you More we get to fall in love with Colleen Luview who works in the ER and has a dating reputation that is very hard to live down. She is a very strong woman, hard working and has a very caring heart. Moore Mottin is a 27 year old, twice divorced father of a 14 year old son from a teenage pregnancy. Moore is a stand up guy, hard working father who wants the best for his son. I loved this couple from the beginning to the end. I think this is now my new favorite from this series. Julia writes her characters in a way that I always wish I could be friends in real life. Another book recommendation for my friends!

I knew Colleen and Moore were going to be angsty. There’s a point where Colleen and Rachel are talking and Rachel shares her first impression of Colleen and it felt like I now understood why Colleen wasn’t my favorite of the Luviews but her story really changed my mind. I HATED how people always made her the joke while seemingly not even understanding how awful they were. I love that these two have always supported each other but there was a minute when I felt like there was no way they were going to be able to overcome all of their baggage.

I love this town but I am so ready for the mysterious brother to come home and get his HEA

I love this series! The characters are great, which isn't a surprise in a Julia Kent book.

Love you more = Love you Moore. So sweet, such a great dad and so awesome after the knocks in the first half of his life.

I really wanted more of this couple and couldn't read fast enough to see what came next and then blamed myself for reading so fast and getting to the end so quickly.

Oh Sandwich....I laughed so hard (once I knew she was ok).

I was just a tad disappointed in Luke but then you get a bit further along and want to hug him.

I laughed, I cried and I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Can't wait for the next one.
