This has some spoilers! I was fortunate enough to be an early reader.

Fate and Resolve is a five-star fantasy romance featuring Leah, a young woman forced into a marriage so dangerous she had to flee. Sprinting away from her isolated village on her wedding day, she discovers a new world and way to live, but struggles to shed the lifelong ideologies of her oppressive upbringing.

This book sinks its hooks into you right from the start and reels you into a captivating world. The village of Starling is small, quaint, and subjugates women. I get the sense it’s hiding darker secrets yet to be revealed. The tension of Leah’s dinner with her malicious suitor Griffin made it clear that drastic action had to be taken.

Leah’s flight leads her to discovering the magic hidden just beyond the trees…and the centaur tribe that makes the forest their home. She goes from petrified wanderer to wary explorer, before forming bonds with the people of this small tribe that she’d been wanting all her life. A love triangle forms, strained further by Griffin’s pursuit of Leah and the violence he carries in his wake. And a reader asks themselves, who is best for Leah? Who do *I* want her with? The choice is unclear until true natures are revealed, along with a tasty twist in the end that breaks the world wide open and left me dying to know even more.

And this is only book 1. I’m thrilled for the rest!!

FROM THE AUTHOR:

From an indie author who poured her soul and life experience into this story, I thank you so, so much for checking out Fate and Resolve, reader. Consider adding it to your TBR, taking a peek into the Deep Pine Forest, and leaving an honest review once you've gone on a journey of self discovery with Leah.

This book has been so important to me to write. It started as a single scene idea nearly a decade ago, and has ruminated in my mind ever since. I started and stopped writing it through the years. Now that I've finished it, I can see that I had to go through certain challenges in my life in order to let my characters do the same.

I see a bit of myself in almost every character, but most especially Leah, Dominick, and Sophie.

But enough about me!

This book is a New Adult Fantasy Romance about learning to make your own choices, trust in yourself and your desires, and living your truth. And there just happen to be sexy centaurs along the way.

This is the first book of an expected trilogy. While there is romantic interest, things don't get spicy in this chapter. Instead, Book 1 is focused on Leah finding herself before she can open herself to others.

But don't worry. The spice will come in future chapters of this story!

Again, I thank you. Enjoy your time in the forest!

Fate and Resolve held my attention from beginning to end, and was a really wonderful read, filled with likable characters and a very unlikable villain. Amy Lee’s has beautiful writing, and I really enjoyed this first installment in The Centaur Tribe series. This book follows Leah as she makes the difficult decision to run from everything she’s ever known and into the uncertainty of the forest. It is there that she falls into the hands of a (very hot, very sarcastic) centaur named Dominick. He offers her safety and a place to determine who she is and what she wants, but sometimes the past won’t stay in the past, and she must face both her internal and external traumas before she can truly find happiness. Without going into too much detail, I really loved Leah’s journey and found it extremely relatable — many of us feel like we are being crushed under the expectations of others. There was a love triangle, and a VERY good plot twist that I never saw coming, and a cast of developed and lovable side characters. I did want more romance from this first book, but fully expect to get more of that from Amy Lee in the second installment!

I flipping loved this book!

From just the first few pages the prose and writing style captured me and by chapter 4 I was hooked, desperate to know and learn more about this world. I was finding any and every excuse to find opportunities to abandon chores to keep reading!

Leah Millers character development is both inspiring and beautiful. I absolutely adore her and can’t wait to see her continue to grow and take on all the challenges that are sure to come her way and to accept the love she deserves.

Also, sexy Centaurs. I can’t be the only one who spent the whole book wondering how they might get it on right? Thankfully some hints of what’s to come were given or I might have gone crazy.

Can’t wait for book 2!!

It’s been a while since a fantasy world captured my attention and captivated me like Fate and Resolve did. Leah’s character arc was fantastically and believably written. She grew into her own and I love how we watched her become more confident and stronger. The imagery and descriptions painted a vivid picture and the world unfolded naturally throughout the story. I loved the found family aspect and the strong female friendships. The romance was the cherry on top to this fantastically written book. A love triangle done right.

All in all I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Deep Pine Forest and can’t wait to return both in rereads and when the rest of the series is published.

I loved this story so much! The characters made me laugh and I loved how each one had their own unique personality. The female main character definitely grew into herself which I love! And the two male main characters made my heart swoon! But my favorite was the banter between the female and one of the male main characters it made me laugh so hard I cried! Can’t wait for the next!!

This is a fabulous first book by new author Amy Lee.

Fate and Resolve is a sweet, high fantasy romance and let me tell you, it is ADORABLE! There is romance, action, adventure, intrigue, and heartbreak.

The pacing was great, the book didn't feel rushed even in the transition scenes. Amy is able to have a continuous sense of urgency while reading this book. You literally can't put it down.

The main character is Leah, a young woman in a remote village, getting ready to take on her role as a wife and future mother to the local blacksmith. There's more to it then appears and Leah goes on an adventure to discover herself.

The male lead, Dominick, is the leader of the centaur tribe in the Deep Pine Forest. And he's a hottie. He has such a well written personality; great one liners, compassionate, caring. Such a good book boyfriend.

I was lucky enough to beta read this book and I am so excited to see where Amy takes this story.

I received a free Advanced Reader copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Okay as soon as I finished this book, I said to myself I need to read the next one now. And that is really what a 5-star rating is all about when it comes to reading the first in a series.

I haven't read a true fantasy in years. I've been reading more magical realism the last year or so and enjoying it, but this is probably the first fantasy book I've read in years (unless I'm missing something...). I was intrigued by the centering on centaurs and decided it sounded like it would be a good read. It was a great read! The character development was on point, as was the story, world building with the centaurs and surrounding areas, relationships between the characters, and plot progression and actual content. Everything was great! There wasn't a slow moment, and even though I'm really not , I absolutely have to know what happens to the characters now. This book left off on a perfect cliffhanger! The issues at hand were well resolved but there was more than enough left hanging for you to want to read on.

I absolutely loved that although

WHERE do I start with this one.
I knew there were going to be centaurs, but I had no idea where it was going to go. So naturally, I was intrigued!
Fate and Resolve is written so ridiculously well. It’s a story about a young girl who runs away from her oppressive home and finds herself with a tribe of centaurs. There are twists and turns and frustrating moments when you want say, “Leah! What are you doing?!” But it’s a brilliant story and I don’t want to ruin it for you.
I thought it started a bit slow, and it took me a minute to get into it. BUT OH, MY Gods was it worth it. I loved every minute of this book, and I finished it in less than two days. It was so immersive and breath-taking. I literally forgot me. I forgot I wasn’t in Deep Pine Forest with Leah and the centaurs.
So, I have to start with the descriptions. Oh, the descriptions! They were so lush and vivid. I could see everything as clearly as if I was watching a movie. I could see the camp fire, the huts, the centaurs’ beautiful glossy hair and coats, their gorgeous faces and bodies, the women’s clothes and naturally beautiful faces. I could visualise magical creatures I’ve never seen before, and the layout of the world in which this book is set.
There were so many beautiful moments and scenes between the characters. You get a real sense of how people felt and what they thought - even down to traits, flaws and quirks. There was real depth there. You see Leah grow from a timid, scared and oppressed young girl, into a strong and confident warrior woman - and that was such a beautiful thing. I have to say, Leah has to be one of the most relatable characters I have ever met in a book. She is young, self conscious and worries about EVERYTHING. That’s like 2/3 me! There is quite a bit of conflict throughout and you’re left desperate to know more and just want to get through it – not because it’s bad, but because you’re so invested!
In terms of spice – there’s nothing a teenager couldn’t handle – there are a few flirtatious moments (and one really flirtatious character!) but it’s fun and doesn’t go beyond kissing. There are hints of something more – which is quite distracting (in a good way) and one of the main themes in the book – but it’s not off-putting in the slightest.
In conclusion: I have a book hangover! I still think about this book and the characters every day.
Anyway, I’ve run out of hyperbole. So, from Deep Pine Forest on the Adaria River, on a little hill gazing up at the stars. I beseech you to go pick up Fate and Resolve: The Centaur Tribe Book 1 on 25th May 2022.

I was given this advanced copy in return for an honest review.

Full Disclosure I was a Beta reader.

This book was so good I did not want it to end. I love the FMC and watching her journey of self discovery. The author handles triggers like religious trauma and physical/mental abuse in a away that made me as a survivor of both feel seen and understood. The subjects are never treated lightly nor are they needlessly graphic. She does include a list of trigger warnings. Please check those. This book feels high fantasy without overly flowery language or taking thirty years to describe a forrest. It is also a romance. Sweet, and part of the story without losing the things going on in the larger world. Amy’s world building made it easy for me to see where the characters live in my minds eyes.
I wish I could read it for the first time again. Five stars for world building, characters, and story.

Wow... just wow! I have read a lot of books in the 32 years I've been alive and this is by far one of my most favorite reads yet. Sherrilyn Kenyon is my favorite author and I easily put Amy Lee in the same category as her. It was refreshing how much detail she put into every detail, from describing certain creatures to establishing relationships with the characters. There wasn't a single moment where I thought "man I wish this book would just end." In fact it was the complete opposite. I don't feel like there was a huge cliff hanger. Yes I'm dying to know what happens next but only because I'm so invested in the world and characters. Really great work Amy, I can't wait to read more from you.

Going into this I wasn’t sure what to expect but oh my gosh I LOVED THIS BOOK. It was a great first book from a new author! Tropes: found family, slow burn and instalove(kinda), fish out of water, love triangle, enemies to lovers(kinda)

It’s about Leah who runs away from an arranged marriage in hopes to find herself and more then what her current life could give. The male main character, a centaur, was fantastic. Handsome, good one liners, Ofcourse the smirks. The side characters were all also very good!

YOU WONT WANT TO PUT THIS DOWN!
Thank you Amy for providing me with an arc I can not wait to read the next one and see where this goes!

I absolutely LOVE this book!

Fantasy romance. Found family. Self discovery. Love triangle. Magic. CENTAURS. Women’s empowerment (touchy subject I know, but so well done!) and let’s not forget the fabulous world building and captivating dynamic of the tribe and the way the live!

It’s been a while since a non-smut fantasy book has been able to capture my attention and hold it from start to finish, but Amy Lee has done just that! From the minute we meet Leah there is something about her that is so relatable and makes the reader (or just me) feel less alone and like someone out there actually understands the struggle of feelings trapped in a life you may not have wanted for yourself.

Her journey through escaping her oppressive city, being found, seen, accepted, loved, and coming into her own is so incredible. The way the story and characters are written is phenomenal and makes it so easy to be drawn in and feel like part of the Tribe.

I can’t wait to see what happens next between Leah, Dom, and all the rest of this family they’ve created 💚

This was a fabulous debut novel by Amy!

I have been a lover of fantasy ever since I first started reading as a child, and this introduction to a new fantasy series had everything I hoped for. Usually, I read fantasy books about fae, vampires, witches, and shifters.. while I have seen centaurs mentioned briefly in other stories, this is the first one I've seen where they are central characters, and I am here for it!

Leah's journey had me intrigued and captivated from the beginning. As soon as I finished the book, I knew I would immediately read the next one when it's available. I absolutely loved the world created in Fate & Resolve and cannot wait to see where this story goes next.

I was given an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.

If you are a lover of fantasy and romance, Fate & Resolve is one of those books you simply have to read. I was given the opportunity to beta read for this book, and I am so glad that I did. It is such a unique story in the genre and I simply couldn’t put it down.

From the very first chapter, this story sinks it’s claws into you. It reveals just enough information to leave you craving more. The protagonist Leah is an inspiring and head strong character. She will do what it takes to not only protect her family, but herself. The book opens with Leah facing a forced betrothal to a man who’s rumored to have harmed his previous wife. This leaves Leah with a difficult decision, to flee the marriage or go through with it to protect her family’s reputation. (This is only the beginning …)

This story allows you to be slowly introduced into a fantastical world where centaurs, faerudite, and magic really do exist. It’s prose will stun you and the fabulous banter will have you throwing your book across the room! It fights against the patriarchy and makes you want to go on an adventure of your own into the Pine Forest.

Also, there’s a love triangle … who doesn’t love, love triangles??

Wow! Great debut novel from Amy Lee. I loved following Leah's story and seeing her grow. The decisions she has to make are ones I am familiar with (especially the doubting of oneself and where you belong). I didn't see a plot twist coming but that made it all the better. I cannot wait to see how the story continues.

Although this book was much longer than I anticipated it was well written with a wonderful plot. However, I did feel like there was an abundance amount of information that didn’t need be there.

The story had me rooting for Dominic and then for Tristan and back to Dominic over and over again!

I think Leah was created into a wonderful character who I rooted for every step of the way!

The plot twist where great and some extremely unexpected!

I had the opportunity to be an ARC reader for Fate and Resolve: The Centaur Tribe Book 1, and I just loved this book.

It has something you don’t see much in Fantasy books which is Centaurs and I enjoyed reading about them.
The main character Leah decides to run away on her wedding day into the nearby forest of her town and is found by the Leader of the local Centaur tribe.

This book has:
A Love Triangle
A Main Character trying to discover herself
And a twist at the end!

Loved it!!!

What a great first novel for this author! Well written and an amazing story.
Loved this book. It seemed so relatable with how we are made to feel or act a certain way and not being true to ourselves.
Loved taking the journey with Leah as she struggles to find out who she is and not what she’s told to be.
The difference in her relationships with Tristian & Dom showcase another layer of being true to yourself & going with what is easy. (Team Dom!)
I admit I was a little apprehensive about centaurs being love interests, but it totally works.
I’m looking forward to reading Amy Lee’s next book!

Where do I start...? I had high hopes, but they were quickly dashed. I love a good strong female character that knows exactly what she wants out of life, and will go to any lengths to get it. If you're like me, this book is NOT for you. Leah is extremely boring, and dull. The whole premise is strange. Why are there no female centaurs? We're left wondering. Not to mention that these GIRLS, are taken against their will just to be used as breeding mares. They've all developed Stockholm syndrome, so they no longer try to escape. I'm sorry, that isn't the romance, I was really looking for. Sorry, it's gonna be a pass. I would never suggest this book to someone I like, maybe to someone I didn't. So much potential, just wasted.

Being stuck to the sofa recuperating with a prolapsed disc - am not the best at staying still! I needed a long book, a new author and a new World to hold my interest and brighten my mood.
I found Amy Lee's Fate and Resolve, Book 1 of The Centaur Tribe! Centaurs! That is new to me and the hook was baited and I was reeled in!
There is a sensitive Content Warning so be aware of that and look after yourself but this story is so well crafted that the issues are not out of place, over done or mishandled in my humble opinion.
Sex is alluded to with some flirting, light romance and potential love interests but that is not what this book is about.
This is about choices, finding the strength to make them and in turn discovering who you are. Making friends, to move on or stay and opening your eyes to the real world and not just be blinkered to what you have been taught or experienced. So briefly with no spoilers:
Leah, the human FMC runs away from Starling, her home village and a very strict patriarchal society after being betrothed to the cruel Blacksmith Griffin. Dominick, the Leader of local Centaur Tribe intercepts her and offers her refuge with his small Tribe of Centaurs and human females.
I love the World building, the dynamics between characters and their individual growth throughout the book. Found myself commiserating, laughing, egging on, saying noooo don't fall for it! Loved the banter big time. Yes I was fully immersed in this story and thoroughly enjoyed it. Zero smut for those who need to know and no WTF factor because that side of things has been explained lol
We have strong MCs, myth, magic, fighting, intrigue, a twist or two and a plethora of interesting side characters and minor creatures - oh the little drake!
Cannot wait to read Book 2 and hope it has spice now we have been introduced and World has been built however and Team Dom all the way from the word go!!!

Imagine being a female who is raised in an environment where everyone has their set roles and being a female means your role is to be subservient and to be a homemaker plus mother, for some this life may seem fine as it is all they have ever known but when faced with having to marry a man, who has already got one dead wife under suspicious circumstances, Leah decides that this is not for her and so runs from all she has ever known. Can you ever really outrun your problems though?

With a forest that has many amazing creatures it is not long until Leah finds herself in the company of a centaur and her entire understanding of the world is turned upside down. Centaurs aren't real? Women are to be subservient? The man is the master?

This story sees Leah go through a variety of emotions and we watch her develop throughout the story but thanks to the author also considering the wider world we are also presented with a variety of characters who stand out in their own right. The book is beautifully written and flows well but in the beginning it feels like a somewhat slow start, stick with it as the author giving this slower start actually makes sense due to the fact this is how life is in Starling (the home of Leah before she flees). This is a debut author who has a great level of skill in weaving a tale and I believe that now she has developed her world the tales are set in that we will have books which don't have that slower start and are even more exciting than this excellent opening piece.

I got a free copy to beta read.

BUT IT IS SUCH A GOOD BOOK I WILL BE BUYING IT WITH MY OWN MONEY AS SOON AS I POSSIBLY CAN

Amy is a hell of a writer, especially when you consider that this is her debut novel.

Fate & Resolve is a story of learning who you are and what you want in life. Leah thinks she knows who she is and what she wants in life, until she is betrothed to a blacksmith with a reputation. Then all her preconceived ideas of herself, her place in the world, and her home come crashing down and she runs for the forest to escape her unwanted marriage.

What she doesnt expect is being rescued by magical creatures that shouldn't exist in her version of the world.

What comes next is an overwhelming array of emotions that Leah must work through while navigating a strange new world and figuring out who she really is and what she really wants.

Amy crafted a rich world with compelling characters, hidden motives, and friendship in the least (and most) likely places. The last quarter of this book gave me serious whiplash.

Amy is going to be a force to be reckoned with in the fantasy genre.

Although not usually one for romantic fantasy stories, I was intrigued by the premise of this one. The author does a great job of setting up the town of Starling and its oppressive nature, and I was rooting for Leah to run away early on. It felt like there was quite a bit of build up before she made her decision which was slightly slow at first, though I was still compelled to read on.

Leah as a character is quite young and so her inner dialogue does come across as immature at times, but I wanted her to find herself and to learn who she could be outside of Stirling. The centaurs themselves are quite well written and I like how they’re now all how they first appear to be in character/personality. The other women in the tribe could have had some more development time to round them out as people, although their blossoming relationships with Leah were well written.

Some of the dialogue seemed a little colloquial for what I imagined to be a medieval type setting, with speech feeling a little too modern at times.

I liked the twists at the end which I did not see coming!!

Overall, an enjoyable book with the promise of a decent love story to come.
