New from authors Zoey Locke and Z.L. Arkadie comes a hilarious, fun, and entertaining romantic comedy where an assistant straddles that fine line between love and hate with her rake of a billionaire boss. I have the worst boss in New York City. And I am sick and tired of breaking his dates, picking up his dry cleaning, doing his job for him; and recently, he hit an all-time low when he disrupted my beauty sleep so that I could bring him cold water while he jogged through my neighborhood. I didn't think he paid attention enough to know where I lived! I will take some accountability here. After all, there's a method to this man's madness. My boss's name is Orion Lord. And when Orion asks me to shoot for the moon on his behalf, he's never a jerk about it. He does it while seducing me with his spellbinding smirk and hypnotizing me with his sultry eyes. Orion is a shameless flirt and King of the modern-day rakes, being that he's charming, gorgeous, and oh-so seductive. But he's also a heartbreak waiting to happen ladies - so don't even go there. However, I've had enough of this pampered billionaire playboy, who's actually very smart and capable when he puts his mind to it. But he never puts his mind to it. As I said, I’m done. And as soon as I'm ready to slap Orion with my two-week notice, he tasks me with being his date for his brother's Las Vegas wedding weekend. I can't tell him where he could take this new job assignment and shove it because I need a fat final paycheck. For some odd reason, he sweetened the deal. It's as if he knew I was going to quit. Hmm. . .But we're now in Vegas. Last night there was a big party. It's the next morning, the day of the wedding, and something has gone terribly, terribly wrong. I woke up naked in someone else's bed and can't remember how I got here. "Who's that snoring?" Gasp! It's my terrible boss, and he's not wearing anything either. What's this on my finger? Oh no! In a panic, I decide he can never learn about this little scene of ours, so I hide all the evidence and any signs that I've been in his room. But how long can I keep this secret? Especially as the boss I loathe slowly convinces me he just might be the man I can't live without. Boss On Notice, a standalone, full-length billionaire boss romance, is loads of fun - and has plenty of laugh-out-loud moments coupled with slow-burn passion to keep you turning the pages. This book also ends happily ever after.

1 🥴⭐️

The first couple of chapters had me very invested.
The downhill started later when the story became messy and I am proud for finishing it 🦸🏻‍♀️🦸🏻‍♀️ and not adding it to my dnf shelve!

For almost 5 years Lilly hated her boss, Orion, wholeheartedly!!!
Most of the existing negative adjectives suited Orion more than fine!

Orion needed a platonic date for his brother’s wedding in Las Vegas and Lilly was the perfect candidate.
At the pre-wedding night dinner there were so many guests and tbh honest I couldn’t fathom why I had to be informed with all those unnecessary and tiring info and details about them! 🤕

Orion and Lilly got wasted 🥴, went to a nightclub where they exchanged their I-Love-Yous!!!! 😳, had great sex, got married at the Temple of love 😮, had great sex again almost everywhere, and when they woke up the morning after none of them remembered anything!!! 🤦🏻‍♀️

Where were exactly the signs of love???
Lilly was wondering what do women see in him, besides his quality of being handsome!
How could she hate him one minute (4,5 years in this case) and love him the next???
In the epilogue Lilly said that Orion told her that he had been in love with her not long after he hired her.
So, Orion being a manwhore and certified fuckboy were his declarations of love towards Lilly????? 🤡

Too many characters were involved. Family, friends, business associates!
There was a deal and some rules of a trust, regarding marriages between Families, I really don’t know because the whole issue wasn’t clear at all.

I had to reach the last page to find out that this story was the 3rd part in this series!!!! The author said that the reader could also read the stories of Orion’s two brothers that had been previously released. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️
How was I supposed to know 🕵🏻‍♀️ that BON was part number 3 of this series when there was no indication in the title???? 😤😤

In general, the story’s flow was bad, I wasn’t convinced of any love between the main characters who also happened to be all over the place.
It wasn’t a good read for me...

2 stars — was looking for a mindless read and i did like Delilah + Orion together but the attraction made no sense at all lol also the random chapter in treasure’s pov?? with some sort of deal between the lords & groves that was never explained??? in a standalone novel???? this ended up not being mindless enough for me and too mindless at the same time 💀

DNF at 57%. I tried but I just couldn’t anymore. It started interesting then faded out quickly. The storyline was contradictory, the characters annoying, and overall a bit cringey. Like she put her leg over his shoulder while dancing in the middle of a club? Wtf….

Started out strong but finished weak

I feel like this book is just filled with a bunch of distorted caricatures of what normal characters are supposed to be.

She literally hates this dude then in ten seconds is like “Because I hated you, which means I love you,” I get that she was supposed to be drunk here but this is just too dumb for words. She spent 4.5 years feeling nothing but loathing for this man and I’m supposed to believe that in a single 24 hrs where nothing really game changing happens they are in love?

The immaturity in the writing of the characters personalities shows. The female character references her v@gina as her clam or her hot spot…just nope, no thank you. The male character names his junk, never initially answers Lila when she questions him about other women, and just behaves like an idiot.

One would imagine at some point there would be some “other woman” drama because he is such a “f!ckboy” but nope all swept away done.

I read this first without realizing there was 2 other books that, I guess, could give a hell of a lot more context to this book, which it desperately needs. If that is the case this isn’t really a stand-alone it is book 3 of a series that should be read in order.

This whole cousin lovin’ thing is just gross. WHY is it needed?!?!

Also wtf is with the “love is like blood” statement?

.

The story is insanely inconsistent. One thing will be said just for it to be said/done another way a couple pages later.

The characters (every last one of them) are annoying. No one acts their age. The main characters especially just made me want to grind my teeth, like really? They're in their thirties and act like that? And can I just mention the names of everyone? Goodness.

Don't get me started on the plot of the story, it was all over the place.

The 'spice’ was awkward, the lack of chemistry between the characters just made it worse. He sleeps around a LOT and she hates him - normally a trope I would like but the fact that they did a one-eighty in a single day is a no for me.

The naming of body parts and use of the word
'doinking' are honestly mind blowing. This book cannot have been written to be taken seriously, can it? I'm at a loss for words.

I’m seriously shocked that this has such a high rating.

This book started off really interesting and grabbed my attention. However it ended up being quite messy, hard to follow and the ending was a rush which seemed really insincere. I think it follows the line of “if a man is mean to you, it means he likes you” which is a shame. The plot had a lot of potential, and so its disappointing it couldn’t reach its full capabilities. There were also a couple of mistakes throughout.

Liked it

Well written & good surprises. I didn't read the other brothers story, so I was mixed up a bit when all the family/friends of Orion talk was happening. This should be a part 3 book. Too much tech talk for me.

I grabbed this book as part of Stuff Your Kindle Day. It pains me to leave bad reviews, but this was a terrible book. The writing was poor and plot scarce. I DNF’d it at 56%; I felt that was a fair shot.

It had a lot of potential. Boss romance books are my jam and I love the first 2 books in the series but this book was a bit disappointing. Orion and Delilah have this crazy chemistry in Vegas that leads back to his hotel room. She wakes up the next morning and not only has she slept with him but she has a wedding ring on, she throws away the ring and sneaks out without a word. Like who would do that?! There date scenes and working together on the AI project are cute and semi sooth things over in typical romance fashion. Of course that comes to a halt when his brother informs him that he is married. He freaks out she didn’t tell him about the ring or that night fires her and dismisses her from his life. Then end wasn’t even satisfying he get what he wants with no consequence per usual. He should have done major groveling! In the end he gets his AI project bought, his wife, and a baby without really have to work hard for any of it and Delilah gets her dream job for less then week for it to be destroyed by an unplanned pregnancy? I would recommend you skip this one.

“Oh,” I cry out as he touches my hot spot.
“ “he tugs my clam to his mouth.”

And that is where I officially gave up. DNF . I’m concerned a woman was involved in writing this. Possibly an adult one.

Just okay plus I didn't like the ending.

How does he own the AI software? Was he paying those guys out of pocket? If he doesn't own it, he can't take it to another company. The deal was very vague. They shook hands and agreed to be partners. I guess all I'm supposed to know is that he can be respected outside of his family.

The family trust and complicated morality code was not explained. Maybe it would have been obvious if I read the other books. But I didn't, so that aspect of the family drama was irritating. Him breaking free of his mom and the odd expectations to pretend to be with the other girl was not wrapped up either.

It was unbelievable that she got a lead role dancing in a major production after not dancing for almost five years. I also didn't like that she got preggers (by accident, but not from the drunken Vegas night) and then had to quit the dance show. I want to read about kickass women. I also hated that the guy told her they don't need the reports that she works to produce. Basically, she just wasted 5 years of her life because the baby was playing to the family expectations of him being a screw up. I wanted her to be upset by that. Instead she just ignores it and keeps making the same report.

It was an okay book. Was really hooked in the beginning and then throughout as you read you kinda just question a lot of things cos they didn’t make sense. Why did she just suddenly like him after hating him for many years? He didn’t even do anything grand to make her so deep in love, like? Also the fact that he never really respected that she didn’t like being called “Lila” and kept calling her that anyway. But her just accepting it cos she was starting to like him?!? And what’s up with the two family’s deal? Never explained. Maybe in the other books, who knows. I won’t be reading those. And her not dancing for many years yet lands a major role in a production?? I mean, miracles do happen I guess? And I just also didn’t like that she got pregnant in the end. Idk. I thought there was gonna be more drama to this and complexity. Idk what I was expecting. Anyway, I thought Lilly would have more backbone judging from the beginning of the story but didn’t really happen for me.

I'm very confused. How can someone go from hating someone to saying they love them in one day. How am I supposed to believe that Orion loved Lilly the whole time when he spent the entire 4.5 years barely at the office and with so many other women.
I needed way more when it came to them getting back together. He just showed up at her place and she was like okay cool? Uh no. Not good enough.
Also apparently there are other books I was supposed to read before this but I got so lost when it started talking about the trust and people losing money and idk what. It never got resolved?
A lot of the writing was really choppy and random and hard to follow. The flow was weird.
I got this book for free on Kindle and just wanted a quick mindless steamy read, but this just annoyed me.
Gunther is a really weird name to call a...

The writers contradict themselves. The first lines of the first chapter read "ding, ding, dum, dum..." Yet, just a page or so later,it reads that the subject character had put her phone on do not disturb, followed by this sentence "I meant to unsilence my device when I got home last night." How can get phone be ringing if she forgot to unsilence it? Later in the chapter the character states she had to get up early and deliver her boss a water and towel outside of her apartment building, but in chapter two it reads, "I was right to presume Orion already knows where I live." You don't say? I'm going to try to finish this book, but with writing this terrible, I doubt I will.

ok so…

This was everywhere honestly with the description of this book I thought it would have been better this book was basically a book where you skim through everything and honestly I was not happy with that and how the main character aka Delilah not think like why the hell would you throw away a ring in his trash like seriously and other then that what took the family so long to tell Orian he was married like seriously this was so unrealistic and you definitely can not relate to this story what so ever but yeah after writing this I will say I probably will not recommend this book in my opinion it felt like a rush to slow story all in one

Well, I finished it without skipping a large part of it.

I didn’t like Lilly or Orión

Lilly doesn’t like her boss and is planning to give her notice in. Before she manages to leave, he asks her to be his plus one at a family wedding. That was ok, but then we get to the wedding party. My god, there were so many people we got to know about and they were all rich and famous yawn !!!!

You can guess what happens, they get drunk, go off in Vegas and can’t remember getting married.

Honestly, it was a hard read, I really did want to skip lots of it, but I persevered.

I don’t want to read the next book.

DNF for me. The whole beginning of the book the h was adamant about hating him. But then they both get sh*t faced drunk, and all of a sudden she has feelings for him? And supposedly, he had feelings for her pretty much since she started working for him 4.5 years before. Then why was he manwhoring? The last straw was when the pov went to him (which I was excited about hearing his side) and then to find out he named his d*ck (Gunther, if you were wondering. Which makes me think of the coffee guy in friends 🫤). That was the last straw for me. This H is way too immature for my liking, not to mention being kind of a loser. Not very attractive in a MMC.

Honestly I thought I wouldn’t finish this book 🙃
I was this close 🤏 to DNFing it

The beginning was pretty good 👍 but than everything started going down 👎

usually when the MCs share their first kiss this is the most exciting, toes curling, eyes widening moment….. yeahhhh not this time 😀 I didn’t feel any chemistry between those characters and it felt like the story was on speeddddd mode 🏎 everything was happening so fast 💨

I feel like this book could have been wrote a lot better because she had some potential there but I guess the writer decided to do it differently 🤷‍♀️
Ngl I was rolling my eyes a lot of times while reading this book 😅

Ok this book is great if you turn off your brain. If you think too hard on either of the leads actions you will start getting really concerned! It’s a fun light read and I got the feeling I read this as a fanfic before (it’s just the vibes it gives off and that’s not a bad thing). Some times you need a fun turn off your brain romcom! And that’s what this is.
This is my second time venturing into the pure romance genre (by which I mean not fantasy romance or any other hybrid) so I am probably not the best judge of saying if it’s a great example of the genre or not but it definitely did not scare me away so I guess that would mean that it’s definitely not bad?

This was all too until the end

I really enjoyed this book, after reading the synopsis I had an idea this was going to be an easy read and pretty predictable. The lead characters were interesting and I have enjoyed reading something different from this troupe. Then at 90% through it rushed to the finish line and tied up loose ends too quickly and easily which left me a bit disappointed.

“Boss On Notice: Billionaire Boss Romance” Zoey Locke
A Fun Wild Story
I liked this story. Could have lived forever without the explicit details of the not behind closed doors scenes which removed a star from my rating. Otherwise, it was a truly fun wild story. Happy Reading ! !

✨1.25/5✨

I usually don’t leave bad reviews because the book is just not for me, but that doesn’t mean that someone else won’t like it, but I just really didn’t like this book. I thought it was wild how the relationship progressed and I just didn’t like the characters. We go into the book being shown how terrible Orion is to Lilly and then I’m supposed to just like him?

Also they really glossed over the fact that he has slept with his cousin. I can’t get over that lol

A favorite

There are many nuances to the billionaire boss/PA workplace romance trope, and BOSS ON NOTICE is my favorite take on this scenario. The boss seems to be a superficial rake, and is PA does literally everything for him including breaking up with his many conquests.

Secretly, of course, it’s always been her and when she makes good on her intent to leave, things start to change.

I started this book at 10pm and literally couldn’t put it down, finished at 2:30am. I couldn’t get enough of Orion and Delilah. The chemistry is off the charts. The story is fantastic. I’ve loved all the books in this series and they’re so well written. I’m addicted and can’t wait for the next instalment. 100% recommend this book.

What! That ending was bs! Seriously! There should have been a talk of how he just up & fired her & broke up with her w/no full explanation as to if she was compleltey certain she knew everything concerning that night. And where the heck was the apologyapology! Heck no! This book deserved a few more chaps of that before the epilogue - the ending was too abrupt & awkward

Meh

This was my first read by this author.
The writing style was not for me. Better editing may have helped a little.
Mostly it was too flowey, with unexpected crass-ness.
The storyline was average.
Ballsy characters that lacked honesty between each other, but were fine with everyone else.
No plans to continue the series, or go back and read wherever lead up to this.

Unfortunately this was a DNF for me. I got to about 25% in the book and I couldn't get over the fact that the female character just had no real backbone at all and that the male character was very just didn't seem to have any redeeming qualities. Either one on its own could be OK, but combine the two and it just did not make for an enjoyable read.
