About the author

Jordan Bach

Jordan Bach is a lifelong lover of horror and dark thriller fiction. As a high-schooler, he and his friends would consume Stephen King and James Herbert books in days, and his early ambition was to be an author of such work.

Sadly, life got in the way, and it took him several years to rekindle his love of writing.

He now pens books for both adults and children (around the middle-grade 8-12 age range), starting in late 2020, with a rash of new novels slated for 2021 and beyond.

Jordan lives under his real name in Staffordshire, UK, with his wife and two children, the children being particularly useful as beta readers for his kids’ books. In his spare time, he is a cyclist, runner, and martial arts enthusiast, and hopes one day to take his family traveling to many foreign countries, as he did as a younger man.

For now, it’s establishing himself in the competitive field of horror fiction. Do pop along to say hi.

The good of the many…

Does the good of the many truly outweigh the good of the few? With this story, the author has penned a captivating and creepy yarn sure to keep you up well past your bedtime. The community of Harmony is trapped in its very own macabre “Groundhog Day” of sorts in which the residents are confronted with a series of tragedies every four years. The more established residents whose families have resided in Harmony for generations (“Harmonites”) seem to accept this cycle as inevitable and crucial to the continued well-being of their beloved town. They fear that fighting the evil that befalls a small number of unfortunate individuals every few years would bring about unthinkable consequences and disrupt the balance of the otherwise idyllic lifestyle enjoyed by the remaining residents. When a relative newcomer to the community, Bogart Marcone, is elected Sheriff, that acquiescence is put to the test. In a riveting briskly-paced narrative, the reader is invited to “ride along” with the Sheriff on an adventure that will shake the foundation of the township and send Sheriff Marcone on a wrenching journey of self-discovery. I found the premise of the story beguiling and it drew me in immediately; a town in which four people die on four consecutive days every four year – how does that not grab your attention and stoke your imagination? I found the characters, with their delightfully diverse array of attributes, to be quite believable as the inhabitants of a small but proud community. They are easy to visualize, accept, and become invested in. The suspense is unremitting and the tension ratchets up to a rapid boil as each day and each new tragedy unfolds. I suspect this story will be given a coveted spot on the “favorites” shelf of many a fan of tales of horror and paranormal mysteries. I grew up reveling in the classic tales born from the fertile imaginations of benchmark authors such as Poe, Bradbury, Stoker, and Lovecraft. In time, I became enthralled by more contemporary mainstays of the genre – Dean Koontz, Peter Straub, Clive Barker, and, of course, Stephen King and his son, Joe Hill. Even more recent additions to my personal favorite authors list include Jennifer McMahon, Paul Tremblay, Alma Katsu, and John Ajvide Lindqvist. While Jordan Bach, the author of Harmony Four, is a relatively fresh face among the wordsmithing guild of devotees of the gruesome and the ghoulish, he is, in my estimation, rapidly setting himself up to become a staple of the genre. This story is a definite must-read for those intrepid souls who enjoy dipping their toes in a bit of paranormal peril. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

I was provided with an advance copy of this book, for which I thank the author, and I am voluntarily sharing my honest and unbiased review.

Started as a 2 ended as a 4

I do recommend this book. But initially I was ready to toss it. I'm glad I stuck with it.
Bogart, like all of us,is a very flawed human being. But we're all redeemable.

When I started to read this book I thought this doesn’t look like a psychological horror story, but as you get into it it becomes clear. Highly recommended.
