I hope to re-visit this book whenever I need reminders to always believed in God’s graciousness and generosity. He knows what is the best for me, He knows what I don’t, and He definitely always answers my prayers in a way that I unfortunately overlooked.

Reading this while being infected with covid is one of the best experience I can have. A sweet memory even. I can almost heard Ust Mizi’s soothing voice in my head encouraging me to be patient with Allah’s tests and reminding me that there’s going to be a beautiful rainbow after the rain.

Consisting of 21 practical steps on how we can nurture our relationship with Allah through our Du’a, this book also provides summaries at the very end of each chapters that made it easier to be re-visited anytime. We all need constant reminders, but not many of us have much time in hands to read a whole book. So it’s another good reason to get this on your TBR list.

This book is like another version of 'Talk to Allah' by Ayesha Shahira which talks about du'a. TTA is about personal experience of the author in making du'a. In the meanwhile, CUH talks about du'a in general. I don't quite enjoy it because the content of the book contains the points of which I've already known.

A person who has a minute amount of knowledge about du'a would probably find this book useful and enjoyable.

Totally inspiring me to make more du'a and supplications as a way to connect with God, and build a stronger relationship with Him. This book discusses 21 practical steps on how we can nurture our relationship with Allah through our du'a. It teaches us how to strengthen our trust when we are required to stay in faith throughout the long wait after the du'a had been made.

Call Upon Me is the revised version of Prayers For Success. Like the predecessor, this book is a must read. Previously, I would always bring Prayers For Success along with me whenever I travelled for work. It served as a reminder to me, to supplicate when travelling. I read and reread it many times. Now that the book has been revised, I'll bring Call Upon Me next whenever I travel.

Anyway, like I mentioned earlier, the book is a must read. Content is easy to understand because Ustaz Mizi used laymen terms to explain. Love reading this!

enjoyed this a lot more than the first book i’ve read from him which was You Are Loved. A great accompaniment after prayers because you can really internalise it. a number of time, there were parts where it really spoke to me even if there isn’t much personal context in it

pretty great. would reread this every year too 😚

I enjoyed reading Mizi Wahid’s first book so much (The art of letting God) that I got his other two books (Call upon him & You are loved).

I find this book not as captivating as the first one but that might just be me - mainly because I was expecting more. Both books sound similar but this one has got tips on proper ways to supplicate and he inserted some du’as that are encouraged for us to practice.

I may give this book another read and who knows, maybe the second read will impact me more!

This is a great book to reflect on ourselves to start praying and making it as a habit and also to build a better relationship with Allah by communicating & making Him as a priority in our lives ; every single day. One of the main highlights of the book - our manners in making the Dua itself.

Jom,
Banyakkan doa dan 'borak' dengan Allah..
Minta dengan Allah dari sekecil-kecil perkara yang kita anggap remeh sehinggalah sebesar-besar perkara yang kita ingin capai :)

If you're wondering why your prayers haven't been answered, or is there any tips or methods to improve your prayers' or duas' quality out there, you might want to pick up 'Call Upon Him' by Mizi Wahid.
.
From the very beginning, the author emphasises words of encouragement, establishing trust and hope to Allah s.w.t, as well as providing a few examples of situations to further explain the concept and guide the readers. Besides that, different duas are placed in between chapters to aid in making specific prayers according to your current needs or for the good in the future. The second part of the book entails questions and answers regarding duas which Mizi Wahid cleverly tackles and elaborates.
.
Now, i have some opinions to share on this one. As a religious and non-fiction book, Call Upon Him is mainly suitable for people who are trying to find ways on how to make a proper dua. People who had been praying for a long time but their prayers were still left unanswered are highly suggest to grab this book to get better understanding on the concept of making dua and put your trust in Him.
.
Things that I like about this book are the details which give better understanding on the matter being explained, the examples of duas which I personally believe are beneficial and can be practiced in daily life, and also the summaries on each chapter that brings out the vital points for readers to recap. Not only the author aids readers in aspect of trust and hope, he also put together words of Allah s.w.t from the Quran to give better comprehension and digestion of the knowledge from this book.
.
However, one thing that is lacking is that the author only includes real-life examples from people who already established their belief and trust in God. Don't get me wrong, the instances are great, but I personally couldn't relate or connect with all the examples as I am not someone who came from a readily-great background. The perspective of someone who was born in a pious family and someone who was born in the not-so-good family, will be different and therefore, things being told in the book might not deliver to me perfectly. I think if the author puts together some real-life experience from people who came from a different background in terms of religious aspect, maybe readers from similar situations would reflect and relate to this book. Nonetheless, this does not degrade the greatness of this book for me and I would totally speak about this book if anyone asks for recommendations.

Have you ever make a Du’a or a wish but not all the Du’a or the wish been granted at the time that you need the most?

Ever since , I’ve read “ The Art of Letting God “ book by Ustaz @miziwahid . I really adore how the way Ustaz @miziwahid writing - easy to understand in a simplest way.

This book “ Call upon Him “ such a soothing and inspiring read . It discusses 21 steps on how to strengthen our relationship with Allah through Du’a.
Trust Allah in every Du’a that we make even if the Du’a is not been fulfilled yet. Trust Allah that He knows better when the right time is come. Be precise and specific in our Du’a as Allah always listen - even if our Du’a in a most simple words . Don’t give up and keep faithful , devotion to Him through prayer and Du’a.

Here are some quotes from the book :
“ Intention is what aligns a person heart towards the right path and purpose . And, the right intention will get a person what he truly intends for - Good or Evil , Noble or Bad .”

“ Everyday there is a window of opportunity. Grab that chance before it is too late . “

“ When you deposit your faith in Allah early , He will repay you in favour early . “

“ Let me encourage you now to not wait for others to start , but begin with yourself . Change has to start somewhere.”

Such a 5 star 🌟 read for me and totally recommends the book to all of you if you need a soothing and inspiring read. Happy reading everyone .

Assalamualaikum,

I have been finishing reading this book 2 days ago but I haven't get any chance to update my review. Even writing it down the quotes/sentences that capture my heart also a delay , thus I prefer using highlighter first and write it here later.

I find it very soothing reading Mizi Wahid's books. His words, sentences, thoughts always keep my mind in reflect and tranquil. I always finding it hard to focus on my prayer, I did though pray in rush and last minute, thus it might be the reason why Allah delay the grant of my prayer. There is the day I feel a bit loss, give up, underdetermined, indecisive with my life, and decided to find Him to help me, which sometimes I happen to become forceful to make my prayer granted by Him immediately as far as I started pray, but after reading his books, I finally know the reason why Allah put me in this situation. He wants me to spend more and more with Him, because He, as we know always grant his slaves accordingly, to what we need, not, what we want.

While reading this book, I have been practising what Mizi Wahid suggested to improve the quality of our prayer as such :
- always pray for others
- be blessed to others like prophet
- Adding more compliment showing the submission of His slave
- Pray not because you want something, but for us to appreciate His loving and merciful

I hope I can practise every single tips practised suggested by him in this book.

Alhamdulillah.

Divided into 2 sections. First: 21 steps of making meaningful supplications with a prayer from the Quran filled after every step. Second: FAQ regarding prayers.

Prayer is a connection, a closeness, a proof of humility, a shed of self-ego. An act which you get to benefit from all of the processes- the asking the waiting for the trusting and the gratitude after receiving the blessings.

Sometimes a prayer becomes a mere mumbling, a plain ritual without the internalizing of a deep conversation with Him. Learn how to converse and expect. Author @miziwahid brings the different approach of how we see the prayer from the very start, as a way of living, a kind and compassion to others, a huge relief, and a character developer.

I love it so much! I can imagine myself reaching this book in times of the need for remembrance in Allah, which is often as we human always forget. I like how the author makes me want to ask and pray to Allah even the smallest thing that I need as I didn't realise the beauty in it before. The simple narrative and words are also easy to grab and follow. Highly recommended to all my Muslim sisters and brothers.

My third book by Mizi Wahid but somehow, didn't quite enjoy this one as much as I did the other too. It may be that most of the topics covered are not particularly novel to me though I must say that it is nice to be reminded of them, every now and then. That said, Mizi's writing is consistent such that the language is simple, which makes all his books (this one, included) such easy, laid-back reads which one can almost always do in one sitting. I look forward to other publications by Mizi soon.

My first book about Islam. The author narrates the beauty of Islam gracefully with sets of practices that individual Muslims can embrace daily. I personally feel connected to the idea of starting new habits; small yet consistent.

I can tell this is such a beautiful book that I've been explored so far. Though I have bunch of fav books at the moment and this is gonna be one of my fav. Another gem to dig in! Thus, the Islamic spiritual book is my fav of all time. By reading them, I can get my head straight back as well as regain my sanity and pull myself together after being totally miserable all this while.

It has 21 steps on how to strengthen our trust in Allah SWT. It has been changed my perspective in making supplication to Allah SWT. This book is kinda similar to Talk To Allah by Ayesha Syahira. That one is another gem also. I love reading them together w this one. But the most important thing while making supplication is, to put your TRUST in Allah SWT. Utter the word specifically and tell Him what do you want in your life. Make sure it will bring benefit to your life and don't forget to pray for others. Allah will make it bigger!! So trust Him💜 and also;

- To improve our relationship with God
- To strengthen our faith
- Learn to not limiting our prayer
- Have a pure intention while making Du'a
- Be firm in our prayers
- Pray for others
- Remain Humble during the prayer

"We mustn't wait to ask only when we are in times of urgent need and desperation"

Make supplication a habit! It was really short of a review cuz I want you to read this book yourself!! Worth reading trust me :D

As I was picking this book to read, I was in my unstable situations like feeling down, stressed and so on (even for now, I'm still struggle to heal). So, after being read this book for a few pages in the beginning, I feel like this is the right one that could help me to be much better. Sometimes, I think every book I've read, it isnt about I read because I want but it also like has been arranged to suit the circumstances.

This book specifically focus about supplications. As it is deeply related to me as precious advices to improve myself become much better, it makes me speechless to review. I dont know why but I just feel lack of words to explain about this book. What can I say, the contents purposely remind the readers how to reflect ourselves so that we will aware in performing our prayers (dua'as) truthfully.

The author also shared about many kind of dua'as to be recite in our daily life. For me, the dua'as are not something new as I knew about that mostly but because there's time when I forget to have them in my daily supplications, this book will be my reminder as well. Besides, at the second half of the books, the contents are more about "Q&A" that may help anyone to find the solution for what they've been looking. The conclusion is this book worthy enough to be the first step of changing and improving our attitude towards The Most Merciful.

More towards Dua’ and supplications which is why I personally like this book better especially if you’re struggling with or doubting your prayers. One thing I would like to highlight from this book is our manners in making Dua’ itself (e.g. how to do it and how to internalise it). Reflecting about it reminds me that; just like collage applications or job interviews where you would get to know the organisation better in order to get in, that’s how much you need to get to know Allah better so that your Dua’ will be accepted and reasonings behind it. List of prayers are also discussed apart from the two parts; encouragement & hope, and questions about prayers. A whole different book than The Art Of Letting God but still closely related.

First of All, Alhamdulillah because I have finished all three mizi wahid books and this last one, Call upon Him. I am very interested with the cover of this book is very beautiful and exclusive, a combination of blue and white.
.
.
This book is a non -fiction book talks about du'a and to build a stronger relationship while communicating with Him. Actually this book is divided into 2 parts, the first is 21 steps to build a strong relationship between us and God through du'a, and the second is the FAQ which is some questions related to du'a.
.
.
I really love this book because it is easy to understand and the author shares some of his stories and experiences related to du'a in this book that inspire the reader. And lastly, this book becomes more interesting when the author puts various interesting du'a in arabic and its translation, so the reader can recite and practice the prayer.
.
.
Thank you so much and congratulations to Ustaz @miziwahid for producing this very meaningful book 🦋✨

This is my first time reading Ustaz Mizi's book and I finally understand how majority of readers able to find the beauty lies in his poetic and soothing writing.

In brief, this book is all about the importances namely the why, what, who, when, where and how precisely in the context of du'a.

How I feel about the book? The words written were simple yet enough to break into my stoned hard heart (read: as someone in which almost immune to soft words as is used to such) and give an impactful reading. However, I find something rather lacking that it's not enough for me to give a 5⭐ rating.

Reading unpopular opinion of others in GoodReads, showed consensus with my feelings after reading this book for a few other readers said this particular book isn't as impactful as other two books that Ustaz Mizi has written. Indirectly, I wish to read his other books to see how it will impact me instead.

One of my most fav quotes that can be found in the book is:
"Remember, when you give selflessly, you shall receive abundantly." - page 114
