This was a really fun book to read. I enjoyed the layers of the story and I felt connected to the characters. The author did a great job mixing fact with fiction. Part love story part war story. I think it was good to see two different sides during the civil war. I think we forget that both sides had good people with families that they loved and they believed they were doing the right thing. I'd recommend this book.

Best book ever read. Written superbly. 10/10. Will change your life. The characters are so gripping and it will keep you entertained while also giving powerful insight in the civil war. If there were more stars I’d use them absolutely dazzling, with tragedy, romance, and war all brought together in one epic novel. I wish there was sequel because I need more of this book.
