Mysterious and brooding, Brody is the epitome of deliciously dangerous, and Jewel wants Brody regardless of the consequences.
In order to keep his secret hidden, he must refrain from getting emotionally attached to anyone. But Jewel was breaking down his defenses and he might just throw caution to the wind for a sexy woman who didn't care that he was homeless with no money and no family.
Carolee is a passionate writer whose life revolves around creating a world she can revert to when life gets in the way.
She always knew she would be a writer. Her teachers and the school librarian noticed her knack for story telling from an early age. With their encouragement, she continued to allow her imagination to come to life.
She spent most of her adult life dreaming of writing her own novels while working a 9 to 5 job. With determination, she quit her job and now concentrates on writing full time.
Writing is her passion and without it she feels incomplete. Carolee writes from her heart, from her soul.
In addition to writing, there are absolutely four things she cannot live without; chocolate, good ice-cream, cheesecake, and coffee.
I need more Brody and Jewel! She was determined not to give up on him. Their chemistry and banter is so funny. Even though Brody's background was messy the gang was willing to help.
After getting a taste of Jewel and Brody in Won's (The Sleeper) story, I hit Pre.order so quick on Brody's The Hunter. That being said - MASSIVE dissappointment. Seems like the author was in a rush to make some deadline and hadn't fleshed out the characters because this story is too-faced paced and poorly written. Lots of great ideas but they go nowhere. A TON of mistakes that could have been caught with editing and proof-reading. The back and forth on Jewel using "Brody" versus saying his real name toward the end is tough. The sex scenes aren't sweet or romantic or sexy or hot or dirty. They're just random and unexcited. They should be spicy but they come out of no where. The author seems to have forgotten where she alreadt wrote in her big moments because her one-in-a-million moments happen far too often. Not enough Remo and Won for me, even though their brotherhood is amazing and need building and more attention. The whole beginning of the book, wasting time on Valachi and it doesn't go anywhere. Swear people! Don't buy if you want closure on that story (seems like the Valachi story was just made up because she'd killed off her Rubio villain in Book 1. Something about this just seems so unfinished and its a shame. I wouldn't buy this if I were you but go ahead if you need to. Don't say I didnt warn you- just make sure you at least review it poorly so maybe with enough bad reviews, the author will fix it and release a free updated(new story) for people who bought the original. Don't buy this! Rent on KU if available but if not, try to find it free online or just buy The Sleeper instead. Won amd Chloe's story is better (not great but better). Remo and Imani (The Closer Bk 1) is okay and good at setting up a story but Bk 2 and Bk 3 dont close it out well so I'd stick to 2 and read it like a standalone.
I was looking forward to this book to learn more about Brody and his mysterious background, unfortunately I felt like the story was a bit rushed and therefore wasn’t as strong as the previous 2 books which I loved❤️.
It made sense that Brody’s expertise as a hunter came from the way he’d been living. It’s an unorthodox way to obtain information without being discovered but it works👍🏽. Glad that Jewel followed through with her decision on Brody when things were not going as she expected😬. Brody’s reason for not giving into his desire is understandable and I admired his reasoning and determination of not wanting to pull Jewel into his world. It’s inevitable that they would get together as their desire for each other is strong but their wasn’t enough scenes of them together😉. Coming clean with Remo and Won about what he was wrapped up in was important and I appreciated how they were so willing to step in to help Brody🙌🏽.
All in all I’m glad that Brody got a book, just wished it was longer had more depth especially because I liked both character. Along with the story being short and rushed there were also grammatical errors and could have used a proofreader😝. Not sure if this was the last book in the series but if this was I’m not happy😤
But you left us with questions who is the person that kill Won 's dad, an why was Remo dad kill by his uncle an do he have a cousin who he didn't know about that is trying to kill him??!! I want to know what is going on with Brody sister how was she with a senator when she was to be in Russia , but if she was in the U.S. how did she get taken an who was his father that his brother death put him in danger that he had to get help like how powerful was his dad and why wouldn't he use his ties with the Bravta to help his family. An why I feel his problems connect with Remo, and Son's problems. Which is who kill his dad ,an why an who was scared if his dad had lived that he would have kill them. An Why did his grandfather die. There is some unanswered questions that need answers. Please tell us that we will get it for if you end the series like this , well I am done because it is like start making a cake an quit half way making it! You put a mystery in play of who is doing what but who? An now there is more players I A, FBI, the mob council and now the Russia mob. That is a lot of people. I just want to know who is doing all this an why? Because it just got good. I feel like I am looking at 3 mob bosses from Itlan
The story was interesting but I couldn't really get into Jewel and Brody as a couple because the author didn't really slow how they fell in love. They just went from acquaintances to falling in bed with some angst thrown in here and there which made the story feel a bit disjointed. Jewel was ridiculously sexually aggressive and it made her unlikeable she practically forces herself on him when he told her "no" repeatedly until he finally gives in to her. The book was also riddled with grammatical and spelling errrors which could have been caught with an editor or a beta reader. All in all it was meh
Even though Hunter brings the Series to a thrilling , action filled end; you still get the feeling there’s more to come🤷🏽♀️. Alexei (AKA Brody) and Jewel were blazing 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. This is the first time I read a novel where the MFC was the persistent pursuer, even after rejection by the Alpha🥹. Jewel’s persistence in going after Brody paid off & they got their 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️HFN🤩. I do wish the author had ✍🏼 an epilogue; this is my only disappointment, as I loved the series🍷📚 & plan to read her Omertà Duet😀
I read all 3 books, I expected a better ending and a little more action, epilogue on the couples. Is their going to be a sequel to the stories? Will we ever know who trying to hurt Remo, Won, and Brody? You left so many unanswered questions. Then there's a lot of errors and misplaced words. I want closure for theses books. Can the Author let us know what's going to happen. Are Is yhis the end. They lucky I gave 3 stars instead 2.
Brody and Jewels story was beautiful. I want more of these characters story. Jewel broke down all those walls Brody had put up. I hope there is more for all them in another book or two 🤣
Brody/Alexei is quite adapt at whatever he puts his mind to. It was great finding out his background & watching him come to a realization about Jewel. This brothers by choice series was really good. Great reas.
Poor grammar: 'she'd conceived herself'. What??? Pretty sure author meant convinced. Nonexistent editing. Now imagine that for the entire story. Not sure how this a best selling author.Sorry, won't attempt to read anything by this author again.
A good read, loved the characters. Interesting how it ended, I'm not going to say and ruin it, but I think it was fitting. Look forward to reading more of this author's work.
Loved how Brody was so mysterious. He fitted in so well with Won and Remo that you believed they were brothers. I didn’t like how Jewel was throwing herself at Brody; but she got it together and as a result he ended up coming to her.
