I love to write books about living a fabulous life without spending a lot of money.
I adore mindset work and how we get to be happier and more successful just from looking at things from a different angle. We get to change our circumstances if we want to, and change our thoughts as well.
My goal when I write my books is to provide inspiration, ideas, and reminders for my readers so that they can wear their rose-tinted sunglasses as they live their life. Just like I do!
I have found that everything works out better when you are positive as much as possible. When you expect things to work out for the best. When you have gratitude for all you have. And when you are always looking at how to make your life better, and richer (in all ways). In doing all these things you are elevating the happiness levels of those around you as well as yourself.
Of course life isn't perfect and we all go through sad or difficult times, however I believe when we are starting from a base level of positivity, it makes those times easier to bear.
I love the saying attributed to Queen Elizabeth II's private secretary, who told her that her job was to spread a carpet of happiness wherever she went. I have taken this on as my own life's motto and with my writing too.
I hope you enjoy reading my books and get loads of golden nuggets from them. Happy reading and please let me know your thoughts or leave a review!
4/5 stars. I would have given it a 4.5 or maybe even a 5 if it hadn't added in the concept of weight loss. I don't equate having an epic life with focusing on fitting into a size small (as the last few pages of the book suggest). Other than that, I really enjoyed the book and will use some of the tips suggested.
From the name and the blurb i thought this was going to be a book on my life (slow /simple living maybe) not my house. Feels like a good 3/4 of the book was about organising /decluttering your home - not at all what i wanted to read!
Finally!!! A self-help book that speaks to me. I realize now at midlife that striving for what we were taught to strive for back in the 80s and 90s when I was a young professional is not for me. A 50 plus hour high-stress work week. No thanks. I don't have the temperament or interest or drive for that kind of work. And after living in an apartment in a huge city, I realize I don't want a mansion, but rather a pretty and manageable humble abode--that I own. And I realize I can do this without putting myself into an early grave due to stress. Also, I realized that I have always been a frugalista. I just didn't have a name for it until I began to read self published books about thrifty living this year. It's blaspheme to say you just want a "small" life, but in reality, with the way the world is, it's hard enough just to get a "small" life right. I love this book and all of the ideas. As I said in another review of Fiona's work all of her suggestions are accessible, inspiring, and life-affirming.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this refreshing book. Fiona’s writing is clear, fun and accessible. Her approach to the topic was spot-on. When modern life exhausts you and you’re tired of the hamster wheel of more, more, more, read this and relax. Before finishing this book, I bought two more. And I’ll be re-reading this one again!
