It's a battle of wits and wills between a bold East End lady and the icy shop owner she can't resist in this deliciously steamy Regency romance from USA Today bestselling author Scarlett Scott.
Lily Sutton has been running wild for years beneath her siblings’ noses. Born and raised in the rookeries, she is not afraid of anything or anyone. And she is most certainly not cowed by arrogant scoundrels like the owner of London’s most prestigious shop, Bellingham and Co. She is determined to right the wrongs of her world, even if it means resorting to devious methods, such as absconding with some overpriced fripperies and baubles.
The illegitimate son of a duke, Tarquin Bellingham has worked tirelessly to build his business and to earn his rightful place in Society. But the loan he accepted from his father remains hanging over his head, and the duke is demanding Tarquin wed his choice of bride. When he catches the tempting Lily Sutton in the act of stealing from his shop, however, Tarquin finds himself unable to think of anything but her.
One mistake, and Lily is at the mercy of a man as handsome as he is forbidding. Tarquin knows he should stay far away from a devious minx like Lily Sutton, but he can’t seem to stop longing for the lovely spitfire who has enchanted him against his will. But he doesn’t dare risk everything for a lady he can never trust, and Lily isn’t about to surrender her freedom for a coldhearted businessman…
Heat level: Scorching hot! Don't say you weren't warned.
USA TODAY bestselling author Scarlett Scott writes steamy Victorian and Regency historical romances with strong, intelligent heroines and sexy alpha heroes. She lives in Pennsylvania and Maryland with her Canadian husband, their adorable identical twins, a demanding diva dog, and one zany cat.
This was another great story by Ms. Scott. She is so amazing and creates such awesome characters. The suttons series is the best with faithful besotted heroes that are so swoon worthy. I love this series. So hot!!!
*I received an ARC from the author, all views expressed below are my own.
Any Scarlett Scott book is always guaranteed entertainment! This latest Sutton instalment was simply delightful!
Highlights... - Super sweet romance, just adorable - I enjoyed Tarquin and Lily - As usual, the other Sutton brothers were fun - I am intrigued by the Logan mystery
Chemistry off the charts with Lily and Tarquin, I adored these two, such passion.
Awesome work Scarlett. These two totally came to life, I was hooked start to finish. Loved the brothers reactions to her relationship, and their protective ways, family sticking together.
Can’t wait for more.
I received an Arc copy of this book and chose to post this review
I adore this series. And was excited after the last one to see what Lily’s story was about. A great mix of witty banter between the main characters give it scorching chemistry! Now bring Logan!
This is my 61st book by Scarlett Scott. I've been reading her since 2016. From book 1, she has been one of my all time favorites. I've probably read over 400 different authors but she has always been right up there as a top favorite and never waivers.
Over the past 6 years, ever since I got my kindle, I realized I have become a better reader compared to my beginning reads. Some authors I've outgrown, but Scarlet Scott has always been a consistent author who writes awesome and wonderful stories.
I loved this book. I've loved this whole series. I really liked Lily and Tarquin. Their story wasn't as intense as some of Scarlett's other characters, but still a good read.
Wow!!!! I’ve recently been reading all of Scarlett Scott’s Sutton’s series and can’t get enough of these virile bad boys! Every single one has been my favourite until the next one comes along, I’m in love with Tarquin he’s my new book boyfriend…..sorry Lily you’re going to have to share!
This was such an amazing book I couldn’t put it down, the chemistry, the sizzle between these two was off the charts! Can’t wait for Logan’s story next…..Scarlett Scott you have a magical gift in writing amazing stories, that bring the characters to life and the reader feels a part of their world.
I was gifted an ARC this is my honest unbiased opinion.

When he catches the tempting Lily Sutton in the act of stealing from his shop, however, Tarquin finds himself unable to think of anything but her. Lily is the sixth Sutton to find love & whilst it could be read on its own, I’d recommend reading the books in order as events do overlap between books plus the series is also wonderful. I loved Lily who thought she was ‘helping' an orphan by pilfering from the store & its cold-hearted owner. Lily's bright, feisty & down to earth. I also loved Traquin who'd worked hard to own his store but was being used as a pawn by his horrid father. I just loved the chemistry & attraction between the pair even when they were at odds. Then everything was thrown on its head. Oh I'm loving this series & once I start a book I know I'm there until it’s finished, the characters are wonderful, the pace is fast & the chemistry sizzles, another engrossing, delicious romance My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
I feel like the only person who didn’t love this. As much as I enjoyed the beginning, the middle of the story, was almost too easy. They spend one night together and he’s decided that he’s in love. *sigh* Nothing wrong with it, I just enjoy more build up in my stories. Anyway, not a bad read but definitely not my favorite.
Oh my! I loved Lily Sutton and Tarquin Bellingham together. Lily smart, determined, and independent; she was perfect for him. The Sutton’s have stolen my heart along with the Winter family.
But my heart is breaking knowing that this book is next to the last book in the Sutton series.
This is the deliciously wicked book 6 in the Sinful Suttons series! I love this series, the Sutton family are each unique with a torrid story! This is the youngest sister, Lily Sutton, she is a wild and independent young lady. She believes Mr. Tarquin Bellingham successful owner of Bellingham and Company is a cold-hearted rogue. While on a mission at his store she is caught stealing! When they meet each other she denies it but they cannot deny their attraction! Tarquin Bellingham is the bastard son of a Duke, he wants Tarquin to propose marriage to a lady, but after meeting Lily he finds he cannot. "All he (Tarquin) did know was that she had bewitched him, and he could not think of anyone else." I fell in love with them, this is such a beautiful and unexpected love. As always I enjoyed the storyline, it was steamy, romantic and with suspenseful action. I love Scarlett's attention to details and the some of her historical accuracy and some made up, enriched the story. The added bonus of the beloved and familiar secondary characters. Also, her epilogue is so romantically beautiful, and steamy. I am looking forward to Book 7 Logan and Arianna's story, but also sad that it's the last in this wonderful series! These amazing books can be read as standalones but are definitely so much better read in order.
That was such a sweet, spicy and romantic story. I really love this series and Lily and Tarquin story didn't disappoint me. Impatiently waiting for Logan's story.
Lily Sutton is the youngest of eight in her family, has grown up in the East Side making her confident and never in fear of anyone. She is, however; always ready to protect wrongs done against people she cares about. In this case, it is an orphan that Lily has taken under her wing after learning the owner of a successful shop that caters to the Ton, abandoned his eight-year-old half-sister at the orphanage denying he was her half-brother. Lily's plan to pay him back was to shoplift items from him to help the orphan make some money reselling the items. The problem started when she was caught by the dark, cold-hearted, and oh so handsome, Tarquin Bellingham.
Tarquin Bellingham is the illegitimate son of a duke, and he has spent his life working hard to build his business to gain some respect from his father and a place in society. Tarquin had been trying to buy out his partners and he accepted a loan from his father, however; it came with strings attached - Tarquin would be required to marry a lady of his father's choosing. His business is flourishing but after catching Lily Sutton red handed putting one of his fans down the front of her dress; well, things change, and he cannot get the lady out of his mind.
The humor, the protective brothers, the mystery around one of their brothers; the attraction, bantering, passion between Tarquin and Lily, and proof things aren't always as they seem, made for a fabulous read. This book can be read on its own but getting to know the family, as they appear in all the books, from the beginning is such a treat. The series has wonderful characters, family love and loyalty that makes you fall in love with them and feel part of the story. I voluntarily read & reviewed an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book; all thoughts & opinions are my own.
OMG this series keeps getting better and better! I’m obsessed with these Sutton’s! Born and raised in the rookeries, Lily Sutton is not afraid of anything or anyone. And she is most certainly not cowed by arrogant scoundrels like the owner of London’s most prestigious shop, Bellingham and Co. The illegitimate son of a duke, Tarquin Bellingham has worked tirelessly to build his business and to earn his rightful place in Society. Tarquin knows he should stay far away from a devious minx like Lily Sutton, but he can’t seem to stop longing for the lovely spitfire who has enchanted him against his will. But he doesn’t dare risk everything for a lady he can never trust, and Lily isn’t about to surrender her freedom for a coldhearted businessman… I couldn’t stop reading this book!! I adored Lily! She is strong and so smart! Tarquin is also a great character. You can almost see his need of freedom from the proper world he fights so much to be part of. But once these souls find each other, there’s not stopping their attraction. They are as inevitable as the sun raising every day. The chemistry is off the chart, the sexy times AMAZING and the dialogs witty and page-turner. I really liked Marianne and the difficult cat. And of course all those Suttons running wild in the pages. Another masterpiece from an amazing author. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
“The Sutton’s know how to bring the heat! Another fantastic addition to The Sinful Sutton’s. The rookery born family on the edge of society with all the heart and all the allure. Lily Sutton, the youngest of the brood has never known a rule she doesn’t wish to break. She is not, nor will she ever be, the picture of a lady. She is wild, brave and loyal. She adheres to her own moral code, and dishes out justice where she feels it deserves. Knowing that Tarquin Bellingham abandoned his sister to a foundling home justifies her continuous thievery from his shop. But when he finally confronts her, sparks fly. What ensues starts as a clash of wills, witty banter, jagged barbs and thinly veiled lust but quickly turns real. Their adventures light up the page with heat but backed by something much more tender. Seeing Tarquin, a tough, emotionless business man brought to his knees by this untamed lady is pure magic. He assumed he would marry to please his father and live a life free of love , but she changes everything. One of the tender delights though is in seeing these two interact with their family. Lily’s brothers will always protect her and tough they can be overbearing, it is sweet. And seeing Lily & Tarquin’s family come together in the end is simply beautiful. Having read the previous books in the series, I enjoyed the overlapping scenes. Though they were familiar, we were seeing them from a new light, completing a picture half undone. You can not go wrong with The Sutton’s, they are a true treat of heat!”

But he doesn’t dare risk everything for a lady he can never trust, and Lily isn’t about to surrender her freedom for a coldhearted businessman… This is an awesome book! Lily was a great character and I think that she doesn't want to be able to be the best person. Scarlett Scott has written another good book.
Another delicious wickedly amazing book in the Sinful Sutton's series.
She thinks she's helping a orphan by going and snatching several items from a fancy store who she's led to believe that is the cold hearted person but she quickly finds out he is far from a cold hearted person, he is a kind hearted person who she is quickly falling in love with. and despite feeling it's wrong to feel the way she does for him, she can't help but give in to her desire for him.
He has to marry a woman that his father chose for him. However when he starts noticing a problem of a large amount of items being taken from his store, he can finds himself in a sticky situation when he decides its time to confront her, he thinks she's nothing but a thief but he feels desire and happiness in her company something he doesn't feel for the woman he is supposed to marry and she isn't just a common thief but an honorable kind type.
They can't deny how they feel no matter how risky it maybe but life is full of risk and they will risk it all just to be together.
I definitely look forward to the last book in this series.
I received this as a gift from the author in exchange for an honest review and these are purely my thoughts and no one else's.
Another beautifully written story in the Sutton series!!! Lily Sutton of the east end rookeries comes face to face with the arrogant shop owner Tarquin Bellingham and the sparks fly. Lily feels taking items from Tarquin's shop is justified due to wrongs done to someone dear to her. Tarquin has no idea why she's stealing from him. All he knows is that he can't stop thinking about Lily. Tarquin can't afford this distraction as he must marry who his father chooses. The characters are so well written. And there is just the right amount of steamy scenes and romance. You will absolutely love this book!!! The mystery of the oldest Sutton brother Logan is revealed for the next installment of this series. It features Logan Sutton and Arianna Stewart. I received an ARC of this book and is my honest review.
An almost enemies-to-lovers story. One of my favorite tropes.
Highly recommend it.
Tarquin has a dream of having the finest department in town but he needs to make sure The Problem is taken care of. The Problem is the beautiful and determined Lily Sutton, who seems to be playing the part of Robin Hood and seriously damaging his reputation. Tarquin and Lily need to come to an arrangement to solve their problems.
Loved their story. I also loved all of the Sutton stories happen almost at the same time and the easter eggs are there.
It also establishes more of Logan’s story. Can’t wait.
I really love the Sutton's, and Scarlett Scott keeps writing their stories even better! Lily gets caught by Tarquin stealing, and even though she denies it he knows the truth.. Lily doesn't like him because she thinks he abandoned his little sister.. though they don't like each other, they can't deny the spark between the two of them..
Something I love about Scarlett's writing is the strong heroines that take nothing from the man! Like she'll give it just as much as he does! And I love that!
I love how we got more of Logan in this one too!! I can't wait to read his story!!!
Scarlett Scott is a masterful storyteller. She, like no other, can draw you into a story on the very first page. The emotional connection she puts into her characters draws you right in and you feel every emotion. Lily and Tarquin’s story was intense, emotional, and so full of love. I also really enjoyed how parts of the other books in this series were interwoven through this one. I literally can “see” with my mind, what is going on. What a great read! The Sinful Sutton series is one of my favorites and this book, Sutton’s Scandal, was amazing. I can’t wait for Logan’s story.
Oh, those wicked Suttons. Lily Sutton is the baby sister of the family, protected by all those brothers who run the prestigious gaming hell. What the brothers don’t know is that Lily has been pilfering fancy fans from the department store , Bellingham’s , as a self proclaimed Robin Hood . She attempts to provide funds for the orphans, until the day that the owner, Tarquin Bellingham catches her in the act of sending that fan down her bodice. The sparks fly between these two from the beginning. Such clever banter and dialogue make for one delightful read. Then there’s the slow burn passion and love affair that Lily and Tarquin share sizzling off the pages. Just a wonderful read, and one of my favorites of the year!
Love this series! The Suttons are wild and crazy, but each one has strength and character. Just like the Winter Family they each find love in the most unlikely ways. I really liked Lilly and Tarquin because they had a lot in common. Great how they got their HEA in the end and look forward to Logan's story.
Lily and Tarquin are delicious! Another Sutton to fall in love with in this story. Scarlett doesn’t disappoint with this headstrong and sweet Heroine. Her Tarquin is really hot and they steam up some pretty naughty places. Bravo Scarlett on another wonderful book! I can’t wait for Logan’s story!
Possibly my favorite Sutton book. I adored how characters and moments in time from previous books in the series appeared throughout. I highly recommend if you're looking for a steamy book that peeks into the rookeries.
Another great book by Scarlett Scott. I knew from previous books in the series that Lily's story would be quite interesting. Lily is the youngest Sutton and just as scandalous as her older siblings. Tarquin Bellingham was a proper business owner until he meets Lily Sutton. Tarquin learns that sometimes what we don't think we want is what we need the most. Scarlett Scott does an extraordinary job writing her characters. I have loved the Suttons since they were first introduced. There is a perfect balance of love, romance, action, and steamy sex scenes. All the sex scenes are very well-written and not over done. Definitely not for the faint of heart. As always, Scarlett Scott wrote a fantastic book that I will read again. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
I received an ARC copy of this book. This review is my honest opinion.
Tarquin Bellingham & Lily. Throughly enjoyed. He is the owner of a grand retail store and she is caught stealing from his store. She does charity work for a halfway house and meets an orphan who tells her that she is the sister of Bellinghams and was abandoned at the halfway house. She was stealing from the store to resell the items to support herself. Bleeding heart, Lily plays Robin Hood and steals as well but is caught. He tells her that he will get repaid eluding to something illicit and she tells him they wouldn’t suit. He tests her with a kiss. Their chemistry is off the chart hot. He calls on her at the gaming hell and she trips and falls into him blooding his nose. She takes him to her room to clean him up but they have a hot makeout sesh. They can’t deny their feels for each other. His dad is a duke but he’s illegitimate and his dad loaned him the $$$ to buy out his partners and grow his business. He will forgive the loan if Tarquin marries the lady of his choosing (who happens to be a boring brainless twit that he can’t stand being around). But he knows he must do it to keep his business he’s worked so hard for. He tells Lily about his future and she’s devastated. He sends her a message that he has something for her and even though she knows they don’t have a future she loves him and gives herself to him even if only for the night. Afterwards he realizes that he can’t live without her. He breaks it off with the lady he was courting and his father shows up pissed. When Tarquin tells him he loves someone else his dad calls in the loan. He tells Lily that he loves her and that he wants to marry her and she agrees. To pay off his dad, he takes a loan from a loan shark Avery Tierney. Lily finds out and knows Tierney to not be a good man (he’s the one her brother Logan is working with and has LIGed on his family). She goes to meet up with Logan to make sure Tierney doesn’t have any bad intentions with her future husband but she is kidnapped by some bad men who think she is Logan’s wife (we didn’t know Logan was even married) and plans to use her to draw out Logan to kill him (man I can’t wait for the last book to read Logan’s story). Logan goes to his family’s gaming hell, and with the assistance of Tierney in locating where she was taken, her brothers and Tarquin rescue Lily and kill the men that took her. Tarquin and Lily marry, adopt the orphan Marianne and are expecting a baby. She’s super preggo but that doesn’t stop them from having a hot sesh. Like I said their chemistry and the sexual tension was 🔥. Very much enjoyed this one. I love that Lily wasn’t at all a doormat but a badass and he was overall sexy AF.

This for me was another good one in this series. Scarlett Scott is often hit or miss for me, but I keep reading because I really enjoy the ones that are hits.
I again felt a good connection between the H and h. Their meet cute was very different from what we’ve seen in this series. I also loved that the H wasn’t exactly nobility and was a merchant. Something I don’t think/feel I see enough if in HR. The only other shop owner I can think of is Lisa Kleypas’ Marrying Winterbourne. (Which in my opinion was the best in that series.)
The banter between Tarquin and Lily was fun as well. She was never afraid to stand up to him or of him. They were never intimidated by each other, but found the other more fascinating.
When it got to the sex scenes there were slight hints at D/s (very slight, that if you were not overly familiar with it you wouldn’t pick it up). And I found it so sexy. We very often see these dominate men always directing and ordering the scene around, but here we had Lily in charge and being worshiped while he’s literally at her feet/kneel multiple time. She tells him what to do. He calls her his Queen. I’m here for all of that of Scott would write a few more heroes like this.
I was sort of weirded out by the name of another character, Clementia, it was just too close to Dementia.
I am intrigued to go into the next book now that we’ve had a small glimpse at some things that Logan has maybe been up to, the past two years or so while away from his family.
“She was worth risking everything. Champion of orphans. Modern day Robin Hood. His Queen of Thieves with a heart of pure gold.”
I’ve been DYING for the rest of the Sinful Suttons series and was so happy to receive an ARC of Sutton’s Scandal! When Lily Sutton isn’t helping out at her family’s gaming hell, she is spending her time with orphans at a foundling hospital and thieving from Tarquin Bellingham’s department store. Tarquin knows Lily is stealing from him and spends quite a lot of time spying on her, just waiting for her to slip up so he can make his move and make her pay for her crimes. Tarquin doesn’t expect to desire his little thief and soon realizes she’s the only thing he wants. I did not expect their story to be so romantic! When Tarquin realizes he loves Lily, he is willing to give up his whole world for her 🥺 They are so sweet together 😍 and the way Tarquin worships her body 🤤🤤🤤 Can we also give a round of applause to Scarlett for her storytelling and weaving different plots together throughout the series?! She gives us hints of Logan’s story and I’m SO READY for his book! I need to know all of Logan’s secrets! 😍
Tropes: Non-Peer Hero and Heroine, Working Class Hero and Heroine, Illegitimate Hero, Enemies to Lovers-ish
Once again I laughed… I sighed… I ugly cried af!! Which is no surprise because it’s a Scarlett Scott story…. it’s the wonderful qualities I expect in her beautiful stories.
Tarquin and Lily’s love story will leave you giddy. I love their “I have to resist you, but I can’t” passion … Omigosh I giggled so much. Until I started fanning myself… because the love making scenes between these two are combustible!! The whole “queen” thing… get out!! That was hawt!!
The epilogue had my heart with this one. I was a puffy eyed mess. Hopefully someday Marianne will have a story… when she’s all grown up.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. I voluntarily review it and the comments are 100% my own.
My Star Rating: 5 stars Ugly cried AF. Major book hangover. Characters and storyline were freaken amazeballs. Made me wanna hug the author for writing a book that gave me all the feels!! Will definitely be reading this story over and over and over again!!
