Jun Zishu was interning as a fate changer. Her character setting was designated as her mission target’s cousin, and her goal was to save her mission targets from their tragic fates.
Thus…
Maid: Miss Cousin, Miss Cousin, the Young Miss fell into the pond!
Jun Zishu: Okay, I’m coming!
Servant: Miss Cousin, Miss Cousin, the Young Miss’s fiance ran away with another person!
Jun Zishu: Okay, I’m coming!
…
Subordinate: Miss Cousin, Miss Cousin, not good!
Jun Zishu: Okay, shut up. I know what you’re trying to say!
Subordinate: Erm…
What should have been an innocent relationship between cousins had evolved into the mission target wanting to bed Jun Zishu/love rivals becoming lovers/the female protagonist falling in love with the female side character(Jun Zishu)/Jun Zishu becoming the female protagonist’s lover’s sweetheart.
4 is pretty generous considering how the novel starts to fall apart in the last 15-25% of the book but I genuinely enjoyed the first half/three quarters of the novel once I looked passed the author's whole fake but not fake sibling/cousin/relative complex. Maybe it was just a me thing but I hated how the author portrayed the overarching romance between the Lord and Jun Zishu; it makes the last few romances seem so cheap and underdeveloped that I was forcing myself to get to the end. Really wish the author made more of an effort to connect the Lord's multiple personas in the different worlds rather than just telling us that they were all the same person and JZS suddenly figures it out once she realized she didn't recoil at her love interest's touch in each respective world 🤦🏽♀️ And the ending was so anti climatic it was actually insane to read like you built up this mysterious character so much and then spend 1 chapter wrapping everything up like come ON. I can't even bring myself to think about this novel more because if I do I'll bring it down to 3 stars just because how much the author fumbled the ending quarter.
EDIT: Okay like an hour later I'm changing it to a 3 because I really cannot stand having read through almost 600k words of incest only for the main romance and some of the smaller romances to fall flat like that. Like yeah the title pretty much spelled it out but I really can't lie to myself and say I didn't mind it because I did. Had there been no incest I would have given it a 4 despite its shortcomings.
