Hanna Hamilton has been fascinated with the Regency era ever since she was a young teen, first discovering historical romance novels by famous authors such as Jane Austen and Lisa Kleypas. She believes that love was just so much more magical back then, more like a fairy tale. She always daydreamed about finding love herself that way, but since that is impossible in the twenty-first century, she decided to write about it instead!
Born in Texas, Hanna Hamilton obtained a degree in Creative Writing and has worked as a literature teacher before becoming a novelist. When she isn’t writing, Hanna likes to explore the countryside with her husband and two children, gaining inspiration from the natural world around her.
So, come on a journey into love, confusion, and redemption all within the Regency era. Hanna hopes that you will enjoy immersing yourself into her novels and that you too will find a love for old-fashioned romance, just as she has.
DNF at 70%. I tried. It’s just So. Damn. Tedious. This book is molasses. Everything is written with so much extra detail that the reader didn’t need.
She poured him tea and gave him the cup: “Her fingers just brushed his in the exchange, and he could not help but notice that her skin was soft, the nail beds of her fingers were a healthy pink, and her nails were short and well-tended.”
That’s quite a lot for a man to notice in a 0.5 second tea cup grab. I’m all for a well built world if it’s fantasy, but no one needs to know how healthy her nails are in regency England.
The whole book is like this. Conversations that read for many pages, how thrifty she is until you’re sick of it, an entire chapter from the guy who ruined her dress on purpose in the beginning. Enough already!
This is a marvelous story of a very young but determined young lady. Her father for years has been buried under his father’s debt but continues to pay all his fathers debts. A young Lord and one of her mother’s friends decide to try to help her find a husband. At her first ball another young Lord purposely spilled wine on her dress and stepped on it tearing it. Now the drama begins
How a young lady was wronged by one man but found love with another.
Hanna, you just amaze me with another of your fabulous story that you so well create. I love this story. The storyline is intriguing with well placed twists and turns. The characters were bold , vulnerable and very impressive whether they were the heroes or villains.
I liked the Earl (Chase) and Roslyn the best! Also, the sweet cook and butler. I was surprised how many people the Earl shared private info with, on what an ogre his father was. I thought gentlemen had more discretion back then.
The story developed slowly and it didn't have much of a middle before you are thrown into an unbelievable, whirlwind ending. Rosalyn was so worried about her future throughout the book. The father should have at least hinted at a possible change in their circumstances, especially since Rosalyn mentioned her worries often throughout the story.
A wonderful historic romance, l really enjoyed reading it.
I must admit I really enjoy reading a good story. This is one that meets the mark for me. The characters are just right for each other, and they have really made this novel very interesting, thank you,Jack
A very well written love story. I have no idea why Chase's friend, Anthony, was so wicked destroying lives for his amusement. I'm so glad love finally found a way.
I loved how Rosalyn and Chase met and how their story unfolded. I hope he met up with Mr. Powell and knocked his out, what a stinker. A very enjoyable story.
I found this book great reading, But was unable to get the extended epilogue, Very disappointing its like you dont read till the end. Can anyone help me
