Shifters do exist, and she needs to come to terms with the idea that she belongs in their world as a mate to the alpha.Curvy Natasha Blanchard is a well-known author from San Diego. With a book due to her agent, she decides to get away from the big city and head to the Rocky Mountain Reservation for a writing retreat in the cabins. The last thing on her mind is finding the man of her dreams there.
Christian Starr is the alpha of the Rocky Mountain Pack who owns the cabins in the Rocky Mountain Reservation. He knows he needs a mate, but he doesn’t believe he’s mate material. However, when Natasha arrives at his doorstep to pick up a key to her rented cabin, he’s struck dumb. Fate has a funny way of playing with him.
How is Christian going to tell a human that she’s his mate? And how will she take the news that her beloved fiction is reality? Shifters do exist, and she needs to come to terms with the idea that she belongs in their world as a mate to the alpha.
The storyline was okay but I read a lot and found the present-tense, third-person writing style really distracting. Most novels I read are written in past tense , first or third person, so I kept trying to make it sound right in my mind. I even read a few paragraphs out loud to my spouse to see if it was just me. His answer was that it wasn’t. It sounded odd to him too. So I struggled with this one, liking the essence of the story but not the oddity of the writing tense. It just came off too me as a bit awkward and in some ways more like reading a script than a novelette.
I'm actually puzzled; I LOVE curvy girl, instalove, shifter romance, so why didn't I enjoy this? I got no sense of who Christian and Natasha are, so they never engaged me. I was surprised to discover that apparently I don't like present tense writing (who knew?!). I would have expected this choice to make the reader more engaged in the moment; however, it reads as very pedantic and distancing.
These short, quick reads are amazing and a lot of fun!
This was a new take on shifters than we are used to when it comes to DV Fischer, and she pulled it off perfectly. The chemistry between the characters was intense and strong, and though it was a short read, the story still held a lot of depth and kept my attention.
I can wait to see what else she has in store for us!
This my first time reading a book from this author and I don't know what to say. This book move too fast for my liking ...or was it just me🤔 I was just getting in the story and out of nowhere it just ended, I felt like another half of story/book is missing.😮💨😮💨😮💨Very disappointed.
The book is a short book but it puts slot of feelings into it especially how Natasha has to deal with learning about shifter's, and with Christian having to cope with waiting and seeing if Natasha will accept him as her mate, and will give up her old life and move in with him and be his mate, and continue to write her books.
Swoon. Really enjoyed this one. It's a readers dream, well a good one for me anyways lol. An award winning author goes to the mountains to finish her book only to find the existence of shifters and her fated mate.
This is a quick, entertaining UF/PNR storyline that is interesting and engaging. It has great characters, good flow, and is easy to read. I enjoyed it very much. I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.
I liked all of the characters. I liked how the story moved swiftly along because sometimes there is too much going back-and-forth. Will she or won’t she when we all know she will. Now I’m off to read Book #2, yippee!
This was an okay/good read. I love my shifter books this one was a little rushed. There wasn’t that much excitement. Kind of like a vanilla shifter book. I hope the next one is a little more exciting.
I feel like she didn't flip out more when she found out Christian was a wild shifter, because she is a writer. Her imagination and the fact that she saw it first hand, made her a bit scared but she knew inside they were meant to be.
She's an author and needs to finish her last chapter of her new release. She ventures to Colorado for cabin retreat to a finish ! Surprise she meets an Alfa and has met her mate
This was a good read, but soo very short! There is sooo much more where this could have gone and expanded on the cabin details , his feelings and her. More spicy scenes
Short and sweet. I like it and was entertaining. Enjoyed it a lot and I like that the place your stories are taking place in a real life place and is beautiful in real life. Beautiful
He's the alpha for the pack and wasn't looking for a mate, but she showed up at his door step. She was just trying to get away from her life in the city to finish her book, who knew renting a cabin would change her whole life.
Liked this story. It was short and to the point without alot of extra fluff and rabbit trails. The instant attraction and a happy ending is what I look for.
I really enjoyed this short romantic book📚 from this series. It was filled with friendship, loyalty, romance💖 and love. On to the next book in this series.
Natasha is just looking for a quiet place to finish her latest book, preferably a place no one recognizes her.
Christian, a pack alpha, owns a group of remote mountain cabins. He is happy with his life and resigned to a life without a mate. Not everyone finds their fated mate after all.
Grab this book and follow the adventure as the door opens between these fated mates.
