This book is billed as "Contemporary Romantic Suspense," not the type of novel I'd normally read. My mother was a romance novelist, though, and even though romance and suspence aren't my cup of tea, I read, edited and enjoyed my mom's books. So I wanted to give "Forgotten" a chance, especially since Chelle and I are in the same wonderful publishing family, Vanilla Heart.

The opening chapters of "Forgotten" intrigued me. The main character, Brandon, wakes up not knowing who he is. Chelle does a great job navigating the world through the eyes of someone with amnesia. That was my favorite part of the book. I also enjoyed how Brandon keeps getting backed into corners that threaten his life and the life of the heroine, Caitlyn, because it kept me wondering how they'd escape. I was surprised I cared because I'm not much of a suspense aficionado; I don't even watch suspenseful movies for the most part. But Chelle kept me turning the pages with her writerly magic.

I also like watching how Brandon grows as a character, as a man. At the beginning of the book, with and without memory, he's blind to the fact that he's basically emotionally stunted. However, he has a real reason to deal with this--and when he does, it's interesting to see how. There was a moment toward the end of the book--a moment related to Caitlyn's family property--that demonstrates how far he's come. It moved me.

If you like Danielle Steele and Patricia Corwell, you will enjoy "Forgotten."

Holy crap! Ok, I know that's not a good literary term, but this is PHENOMENAL!!!! I've only been reading for a short period of time, but this story just engulfs you right away! There is so much depth, intrigue - this book is WAY more intricate than I had had expected. It is BEAUTIFULLY crafted. Not a book you can put down by any means. If you haven't already, you HAVE to read this book! Thank you so much, Chelle! This book ROCKS!!!! :)

This book sizzled!

I really felt very emotional when Caitlyn lost her house and the author did a great job showing how very human her characters are.

I had very recently become a Chelle Cordero fan and was very excited to find this book at Barnes & Noble. It was very easy to keep reading nearly non-stop from the first page.

Even though this is listed as romantic suspense, it's not predictable formula by any means. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a good suspense.

I had a hard time through the first half of this. Brandon was such a passive hero and Caitlyn seemed to be such know it all, no matter how gently she expressed herself. But as the story continued, I felt that these characters were quite realistic and their relationship's progression was logical, based on those very flaws. So by the end, I found myself liking the story quite a bit and may take a look at others by Cordero
