I'm so happy to be able to revisit the Allie and Sidney, aka the cutest couple I've read about 🥺
In this collection we are introduced to some of the characters who will appear in future series 👀 along with the 'The Proposal' (so goddamn cute!), "The Wedding" (ngl I teared up at this) and "The Honeymoon" (such a sweet conclusion 🥺)
This collection will definitely spark warm and fuzzy feelings in you so be sure to grab a blanket or two and hide while you read, because I made a mistake of not doing so and well.. you know
I absolutely loved this collection of snippets from Ally and Sidney's lives. From their engagement to their wedding to their honeymoon, this book is a low-stake compilation of all the fluffy stories you want to see after the "HEA."
If you enjoyed First Heat and First Heat: Second Chances don't miss this next installment to soothe your soul while we wait for another story from Ms. Cassidy
This book was a collection of stories about the omega Allie and her alpha Sidney - their engagement, their wedding night, and finally their honeymoon.
There wasn't much omegaverse in the stories if any - no knotting or heats or anything you would usually expect. They were really just contemporary short stories rather than truly incorporating the characters' designations. To be fair, the author did warn about this in the preface of each short story, but it still wasn't very satisfying.
The author mentions that there will be other stories following other characters in the world, but I think I'm passing on any other stories in this series as they've pretty much just been scenes of erotica rather than plots with conflict and resolution. Not currently my cup of tea, but if you just want to read about smut scenes with some life narration, this would be up your alley.
So, last book of this little series of novellas about Allie and Sidney. Or more little snippets of their highlights in their togetherness. Engagement, wedding/wedding night and the honeymoon. I find the title for this book confusing. I get it, that the author wanted to keep it consistent to the previous books, which all have “First Heat” in it. And the second title is about the content. So, book two had second chances. And “Tying the Knot” is meant to be funny, and a little pun on their wedding.
But this book hasn't anything of the Omegaverse stuff. No heats, no knotting. The author at least mentioned it before each story. But still... When you write an Omegaverse, and use the designations and all that throughout the story and in the book title itself, it should be part of the book in some way. I mean, that's the difference for me between the typical Contemporary, which I don't read much, and the non-shifting/Contemporary Omegaverse, which I love to read and much. Because of the ABO dynamics. I used to say, that if I wanted to have normal, I just have to look or go outside. (Don't get me wrong: Every so often, I do read Contemporary too. If it has a real good story, or smut, and/or the mood struck. But it's definitely not my favorite.)
Overall, it was okay to read. I chose this little series, mostly because it was Omegaverse. And short and not big on the plot side. It was meant as a breather, before I decide what to read next.
The author says, that there will be stories about some other characters of this book. Nicky and the Night Owls was on my TBR list for my RH Omegaverse list. Though, I don't know what it is about, and if it will be like this series. For RH, it wouldn't do good to make it short. So, I'm not sure if I will read the book about Nicky. I may have liked this little series, but still it hasn't enough Omegaverse in it.
Just when you think Sierra Cassidy had ended Allie and Sidney's story on a high note in the first two First Heat books, she comes out with this work of art, brings out every emotion and then gives you a giant metaphorical hug of dreams and wishes. 😭😭😍😍
We first start with a glimpse into a date night with our two favorites about two years after they get together and are lucky witnesses to a proposal that is just so fitting for the two of them. Rating this 20/10 brownies since reading this was like eating the most satisfying double deluxe dream brownie while wrapped up in an almost too warm blanket (bc of the 3/5 spicy boi action (~yum~)). Ngl I definitely teared up a little during the proposal scene (you welco).
Cassidy then transports us to a year later to their endearing, hilarious and somewhat *drama*-filled wedding where we get to see some old favorites and meet a few new faces, too. 15/15 champagne flutes. Grab a tissue for when they share their vows then use that tissue to fan yourself for the wedding night.
LUCKY US SHE'S NOT DONE! Cassidy spoils us again by letting us get a glimpse into their honeymoon in one of my dream vacation spots so get ready to live out your dreams vicariously in this section. The spice is EVERY nice in this one 🙏🙏🙏🥵🥵. 30/25 airplanes ready to take you to your dream vacation.
My only issue: all of the foods mentioned in this book not magically appearing before me so I could eat them because YUM.
My 2022 has been blessed with this book and if you haven't gotten to omegaverse (or even Allie and Sidney) yet, this is the time, your moment is now. Check out the first two First Heat books and work your way over onto this absolute pleasure of a read!
The perfect blend of spice and fluffy omegaverse goodness!
Sidney continues to be the perfect book boyfriend and alpha. Why is this man not real?? He has set the bar too high for mere mortal men in real life. Now I have to go be on bumble swiping on dudes knowing they will never compare? It’s just cruel!
“Crème brûlée.” “Oh god, yes. I eyeballed it last time and wanted to try it.” “I know.” He smiled softly, fingers still tucked in her hair. “I remembered.” Warmth filled her chest, and emotion clogged her throat. It was such a simple thing, but it was a continued demonstration of how much he paid attention to her and wanted to make her happy.”😭
See what I mean! Devastatingly cute. Allie and Sidney are perfect for each other and it was great to read about their happily ever after.
Cassidy could teach a masterclass on banter, the constant flirting, jokes and affection they show each other makes for a beautifully written couple with truly authentic chemistry. Allie and Sidney’s relationship feels so genuine, they love each other and they like each other.
The proposal was so adorable and so perfectly them. Probably my favorite part. Prepare for so many “awwwwww” moments. Tying The Knot is a fantastic mix of smut and sweet moments, jokes and devotion.
Nicky was also hilarious and I’m so excited she’s getting her own story! 5 stars.
I literally love books like this. The mundane details most people don't care about are my absolute favorite. It makes it feel more real 🥰🥰 what a sweet conclusion to an amazing story ❤️ I'm hoping maybe one more book might be in store but I can see if there won't be another. There's always that hope right?! 🤞🤞 We need to see some heat action again and possible babies?? Allie also needs to become a dog mom and Sydney needs to get his secret wish of keeping one of the pups ❤️❤️ overall, I'm grateful for how sweet and spicy this story was.
Stick to the first two books, it is downhill from there
Stick to the first two books, it is downhill from there. Honestly this one is difficult to get into. The story is meh at best and just not compelling at all. The problem with Indie writers is they go back over and over again to the same pattern or worse, they become clicky. Trying to 'create' stories out of fluff or social trends just to sell books. I expected more from this author, oh well
This was a great wrap up with Sidney and Allie. It always gives you the warm and fuzzies when everything comes together in the end and this was the sweet completion these two deserved. Sweet and spicy (Sidney never disappoints) and a great intro to some new and future characters. As always, I’m looking forward to more from Sierra Cassidy.
Tying the Knot, Allie (Ω) and Sidney (A) finally get their HEA. This is the feel good part of this series, less spice. Honestly I was really hoping for a little more than just their wedding and honeymoon. I would have liked a little epilogue after about if they ever ending up with one of the foster dog(s) of their own or maybe a baby.
While we have certainly had a wrap of sorts on Allie and Sydney’s relationship this is the bow on top that I needed. Not tension or anything just sweet and fluffy and steamy
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.25|🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️.5 I loved that the author added more characters and I really loved the wedding scene! The story did feel a little rushed but that’s could be expected out of a short story. 💖
Omg I loved this so much. Its so light and fluffy and adorable! I loved these little snippets of Allie and Sydney. 😍 Don't worry, there's still some spicy scenes as well.
I was disappointed in this book, I finished it just because I hate not finishing books. However I skimmed different parts over reading just because it didn’t keep my attention (which was a change from the second book in this series.)
