This is the first novel that I have read from Ed Adams. I am so pleased that I found him. The Watcher is all about an entity that is as old as time itself. He is assigned to watch the progress of Earth. He watches earth as a total entity, not just humankind. He watches as we develop from the waters to the earth, from wild animals to a settled, civilization. He watches as we develop and industrialized society. He watch as we begin to discover metal, and coal, and oil and propane. He watches as we scrape we the earth to find out coal, and leave scars behind. He watched as we pollute our skies, and change our atmosphere. He watches as our earth may destroy itself and take our universe with it. He watches. And He watches. The Watchers begin to talk. Is this world worth saving? Is it more than that? Do we need to save the earth in order to save this galaxy? If we do nothing will this world implode destroying it’s galaxy. Will this galaxy then implode on the next? What will be the total consequences of this one lowly selfish planet? Should we intervene? Are we allowed to intervene? You will need to read the story to know the answer.

I enjoyed Adams style of writing. This was a fantasy but very close to real life. I found I could not put it down. So many moral tangents are so similar to us Earthlings. What we are doing to our world. What can we do about it? Those are the questions and more that Adams causes to surface in this truer than live novel. I received this novel from BookFunnel. My review is honest and my opinions are completely my own.
