"This isn’t a project that is just for show. I really can help you fly again. I’m the only one who can give you your wings back.”In the light of the rediscovery of the Sirocco Project, Griffin has been doing all she can to stop Core from taking the Sirocco sisters back, and has drawn attention to herself from their original creator, Professor Eve Mira. Now considered to be a flight risk by Core and with the Major not wanting her back, Griffin is ordered into Eve Mira’s latest project, Gregale, where she promises she’ll be rewarded for her service and to be compensated for all that has happened to her by being given new wings. However what she did not anticipate was to be made the Handler to the Gregale Project's group of damaged Avios and keep them safe as they await their new wings, at the same time as trying to manage her own resurfacing trauma.
This book was quite a long (but very fulfilling) read. If you’re looking for sci-fi with elements of biotechnology, Gregale is for you. Super interesting premise and concept, with great chemistry between characters and exploration of past trauma. The only critique I have is that many of the antagonists in this story are two-dimensional and this makes their characterisation fall flat, but it’s fun watching them get defeated.
Another awesome book from T-Hearts. Absolutely one of my favorites, with some of the best characters and bantering I've read in a long time. And, a very punchable antagonist. Overall, very good book!
