Bookstore owner Kristen Ross hides behind her reading glasses in her small bookstore in Colorado. The gorgeous muscled man with the dragon tattoo who stands at the magazine rack is way out of her league, but still she lusts after him when he comes into her store every day.
After centuries of looking, Aidan Butler has finally found his fated mate in the shy bookstore owner. He knows that underneath her proper exterior is a fiery goddess worthy of a Highland dragon. All he has to do is complete the bonding process. But an ancient code, his estranged half brother, and Kristen’s biggest fear all stand in his way.
#1 New York Times, #1 USA Today, and #1 Wall Street Journal bestselling author Helen Hardt's passion for the written word began with the books her mother read to her at bedtime. She wrote her first story at age six and hasn’t stopped since. In addition to being an award winning author of contemporary and historical romance and erotica, she’s a mother, an attorney, a black belt in Taekwondo, a grammar geek, an appreciator of fine red wine, and a lover of Ben and Jerry’s ice cream. She writes from her home in Colorado, where she lives with her family.
From Helen Hardt's vault...from beginning of her career..All I can say is ..what took so long.. Loved this story about a "shy" bookstore owner and the man she secretly desires. Aiden has secrets of his own, but his desire for her is not one of them.
This was absolutely a page turner, without going into spoiler, if only it was easy to meet the man of your dreams, this story got me right from the start. Hot and sexy, intriguing as well, Helen you are on fire girl.
Incredible! I am a huge fan, and supporter of Helen Hardt's. Her story's are ones that grip your attention and keeps a tight hold on you.
Loving the Dragon is a newly released novella from Helen's earlier work that she didn't publish until now. It's not like her most popular books. It is more the New-Age mythical and paranormal rance trope, and I am digging what she's put down before us.
Kristian Ross is a simple, quiet, easy going, plain on the outside woman. She's has bit of a shy personality. The owner of an independent books store she's the helpful and loving small business owner with a huge heart.
Aidan Butler is a tall, mysterious, sinfully sexy man who has been frequenting the small bookstore for months. Always observing the sexy but mousy bookstore owner. He's a man on a mission but also has a secret that is potentially deadly.
Aidan is from an ancient line of Highland Dragon Shifters. He's cursed by an ancient code that will either save him and kill his half-brother or vice-versa. Looking for his fated mate for a century and finally he's found her. Only problem is to tell her, and bond with her before his brother does. Kristian has the same invisible pull towards Aidan and when Micah shows up its with him too. There's a race against the clock. Emotions run wild, confused and conflict ensues and Aidan is determined to find a way to keep his mate and save his brother as well. Only problem is time is not on his side and Micah is determined to take Kristian for himself Aidan be damned.
Loving the Dragon is a great paranormal Shifter Romance. I was completely engulfed by all the magical wonder and excitement. My heart was aching for Kristian to be thrown into a world she never dreamed could have existed and had to make a choice to difficult for a kind hearted soul like her.
Helen's earlier work does have a different style and feel but the passion and energy that you always get from her work is still front and center.
A really good book with strong characters... two brothers that have a soul-bond with the same woman but their behaviour is radically different (one is "good" -Aidan Butler- and really loves the lady-Kristen Ross-/the other is the "bad" brother-Micah Campbell-...) but both are influenced by a past of hatred and a "curse" that enforce their behaviour. A very beautiful shy but strong woman... And a mother that sacrifice her life dying for the love of her sons and, by the magic of the blood, cut the bond with the "bad" brother and through that sacrifice bless them all with a greater future were true love is possible and of course, promptly embraced by the good guy... Waiting to hear from the bad guy soon... because even bad people could have some good qualities...
Aiden & Kris are fated mates, but she knows nothing of Dragons or the legends associated with them. When Aiden makes contact with her she falls hard and fast. But when Micha comes onto the scene, things change and she suddenly is confused about everything. Can she decide between Aiden and Micha?? Does she even have to? Even though these were some of the first works by Helen Hardt years ago, and you can tell just how much she’s grown as a writer, I really loved this storyline and hope she brings more of it out of the vault, so to speak. I want to learn more about Aiden, Kris & Micha and the fate of the Highland Dragons. Love the book Helen. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
It was an unexpected surprise to find out that Helen Hardt had a Paranormal gem of a story hidden in her vault. I love this genre and I hope we get another peek of this type of story in the future. Aiden knows that Kristen is his fated mate. Kristen is clueless that he is a dragon. Micha his older brother is hovering in the wings to claim Kristen for himself.
This was a sensational story as the two brothers are on a mission to make Kristen theirs. There is a price to pay to whoever claims her. I am hoping that Helen has more of these stories to tell in her bag of tricks.
I love stories like this. Helen please write more books like this. I need to know how their life is after reading this, what happened to Aiden's brother? Very much enjoyed this.
I am impressed with your early work. It was very entertaining and fast paced. I hope to read more of them and catch up on other series of yours. I really enjoy your writing style.
POV : As I was reading the book it felt like I was watching a movie. I really could completely see this play out and wished that I had dreams like Kristen! Really enjoyed this! Looking forward to more in the series!
This was Helen Hardt’s earlier work and first time publishing. I hope she gives us Micah’s story. I must know what happens to the second Highland dragon brother.

The love shared between Aidan and Kris is like a love coming home. This book gives you a sense of security unlike any other. I am so glad that I read this book and another. I loved the words within the story. I would recommend this book to anyone that's loves paranormal and that loves to read and has a love for sci-fi.
I absolutely love dragons. This was not what I'm used to reading from Helen Hardt. But it was still really really good. Love the story line. It really gripped my heart. I hope there will be more to come. Keep up the amazing work Helen. I've yet to be disappointed by any of Hardt books. And that's saying a lot because I'm very opinionated.
Even though this novella was one of Mrs Hardt's first books, she already had the magic to grab you and not let go until the end. I hope she does add to this series I would like to read more about Aiden, Kristen, and Micah.
Oh I fell in love with Aiden since the first page, loved this book, it was short and to the point and I just think it was perfect as whole other side of Helen we didn’t knew and of course didn’t disappoint.
The book had good storyline and characters but after reading your newer material this book lacked. But this is early material. You can tell the difference.
Shifter dragons! What is not to love. I love Helen's work and this was no exception. She has an amazing writing style that I just love. This was a fast place love story about dragons.
