As others have stated, I am also hooked on the Harry Starke and Lt. Kate Gazzara novels, and I hope there are many more books coming in the Sci-Fi genre, too. If you’re looking for characters you can get to know and root for, vivid descriptions that make you feel part of the story, and intriguing plots and sub-plots that pull you in to keep you engrossed to the finale, then Mr. Howard is the author you want to follow. This episode contains almost non-stop space battles, with humans against an overwhelming force of aliens, who want to exterminate all human life. This high-action story keeps you tuned in to the characters’ emotions, so you feel what they feel, and follow their ebbs and flows as the battles rage. This is the fourteenth book by Mr. Howard that I have read, thoroughly enjoyed and reviewed. I have never been disappointed. I want to read all of his works. I received an ARC – this review is my honest opinion – and I also purchased a copy to support this great author. Do yourself a favor and try his books – you'll be glad you did!

In Armored Fleet, the third book in the Sovereign Stars series, we once again get to see the crew of The Avenger, the Defender C-class ship of the USF fleet. Prince Elio has learned that an old time friend, who Elio thought was dead, was alive and in need of being rescued from the planet Typhon. Elio's friend, Kyne Minnah, is one of very few survivors after the Swarm has destroyed most of the planet Typhon. Kyne believes he has found the way to destroy the Swarm troopers.
It has been over a year since the Avenger helped save the planet Freyja. During that time frame we learn that the Swarm troopers have evolved making them that much harder to destroy. Along that same time frame the USF have also developed new weapons that have the possible capabilities of destroying the Swarm ships at a greater capacity.
Prince Elio once again get Captain Morian and the crew of the Avenger to go into deep space on a quest that Elio believes needs to be under taken to help with the battle against the Swarm. We soon find out that the Swarm fleet has increased in size and believed to have the destruction of the USF as their main objective. With this in mind Armored Fleet delivers yet another great read. It left this reader hoping that many more Sovereign Stars books are coming in the near future.

Fans of Science Fiction should truly enjoy this series. Armored Fleet is Book 3 of the Sovereign Stars series. The main characters who were introduced in Book 1 - Avenger and Book 2 - Gods of War quickly bring you up to speed on the ongoing conflict with the alien beings they refer to as the Swarm. New characters are introduced who broaden the story line and enrich this tale of humanity's future and the challenges they face as the aliens they refer to as the Swarm try to destroy every living being in their universe. While their developing abilities to communicate by projecting their thoughts and looking into the minds of others and using their minds to move objects have done much to improve their chances of survival. Working hard to improve their weapons systems and the armor protecting their ships they realize the Swarm has also been evolving and developing more complex soldiers and spacecraft that are increasingly difficult to defeat. Armored Fleet provides the reader with an exciting and entertaining tale that I found hard to put down.

If you enjoy Space Sci-fi then you don't want to miss out on Blair Howard's Sovereign Stars Series. This is the 3rd book in the series and I have greatly enjoyed every one of them.
I haven't read very much Sci-fi in quite a long time as they tend to get too technical for me. Blair Howard includes technical information but not in a manner where it overwhelms me leaving me to think "whaaat?". He gives just enough to help you envision what is happening and what you would be seeing had it been visual.
The book is descriptive, containing well developed characters. The world building is excellently done. The story line captured me and kept me reading. Overall it contained every component I can think of to make an excellent Sci-fi Space Fleet Story.
While reading Armored Fleet, there were moments where I gasped. Times when I held my breath. I had to keep turning the page to see what was going to happen. I can hardly wait for the next book in this series.

Armored Fleet (Sovereign Stars Book 3), my forty-seventh read from author Blair Howard, one of my favorite authors. Very different than his earlier books but every bit as enjoyable. I'm not a great science fiction fan but I am a Blair Howard fan and he's writing science-fiction as well as he does detective fiction. Well-written, enjoyable, and thoroughly entertaining! I always look forward to the next work from Howard; a Blair Howard book is like a visit from an old friend. Compares favorably with Daniel Gibbs Echoes of War series that I started to read while waiting for this book to be published. I received a free Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

This non-stop action packed fantasy has the humans fighting for their lives against the aliens who want to obliterate them. Even with the smartest minds, newfound abilities, grit and determination the humans are grossly outnumbered and out skilled. Internal strife, petty grievances and power plays also threaten to topple the humans from the inside. I love that the book is so descriptive that I felt like I was on the bridge of the ship, at war room meetings, in the middle of the action and involved with the characters. I could see everything in my mind's eye exactly as described. I was drawn into this world from page one. This series is not to be missed! I received this ARC and this is my honest review.

Well, there is a fourth book in the series. I wasn't expecting that.
Plenty of action, exciting moments, political intrigue, and then the aliens. One character seemed to be making progress on figuring out who the alien tech works or at least in some cases, defeating it. It would seem, too, that the aliens, at least in the battles, are mere automatons. No one has met any biological alien. The psy, TK and sight in humans is a big part of the story. Aliens and evolved humans are not my favorite topics, but the story was good and presented in a well developed plot. There were at least two continuity problems: geosynchronous 'orbit' and a situation where TK was needed, then forgotten.
The series is an enjoyable read.

I have never been a big sci-fi fan but this series has blown me away from the beginning. The writing is so detailed you feel like you are on board the space crafts, right in the thick of things with all the characters! Prepare to be totally immersed and give yourself ample time to read because you won’t be able to put it down. I am totally hooked on this series! Another explosive story by Blair Howard that leaves you wanting the next book as fast as possible! Do yourself a favor and jump on board the Avenger!

This book in this sci-fi series has it all!! It contains so much non-stop action, it takes your breath away. It is replete with detailed descriptions of space battles, personal skirmishes and planetary ground fighting. There is not a boring moment from beginning to end. Mr. Howard dies a masterful job of describing characters (even those that are minor) and the environments within which they interact. I heavily recommend this book for anyone who needs a book to enraptured their day. I received an ARC and this is my honest appraisal of this well written novel.

This is the third book in the series. Blair Howard knows how to make it so exciting you don't want to put it down till you are finished. His description of the characters and the battle scenes make you feel you are there. Prince Elio hears from a friend who he thought was dead. He feels the friend who is trapped in Swarm space has information that would help defeat the swarm. He send the Avenger to rescue the friend. This is an exciting science fiction book and you won't go wrong reading the series.

This is my favorite so far! I'm pleasantly surprised to be so involved with this genre. The author makes everything seem so real, not contrived or so out of the ordinary that is hard to understand. Of course there is the space flight and other worlds and the alien enemy, but it all seems like it could happen. I enjoy Blair Howard's other series based in the present time so I thought why not this? He captures your interest immediately and keeps it the whole way through. Then in the end he leaves you wanting more. I can't wait to read what happens next.

Intrigue and war, what more could you want?
Armored Fleet has enough backstory that it can be read as a stand-alone book. The struggle with the blues continues. The leadership of the Orsian people need to build a resistance to face the blues, who want to wipe out humanity. their quest faces political intrigue of many types. There are great battle scenes. Did they win? Read the book to find out. I can't wait to see if Blair will write a 4th book. If so, I will definitely get it.

Wow!!! This whole series is so good. This author has so much imagination and is such a good writer. It’s so frustrating to come up against lifeforms that you have no idea why they’re doing what they’re doing or who they are or where they came from. But they are trying to kill you. They are relentless in wanting to wipe you out. Sometimes the jargon is too technical and too long. But you’re hanging on just wanting to see what’s gonna happen!

This is the third book in the Sovereign Stars series and it’s another very good read! The Avenger and it’s crew play a central part in this book until the last quarter of the book when we see space warfare on a larger scale. I’m enjoying the characters the author has created and he introduces some new ones in this book. In my opinion the author has created a good universe and moves the story along at a good pace. I received this book as an Advanced Copy and am giving it 5 stars.

The saga of Humanity vs The Swarm continues.... As with the books one and two of this series, this addition is another edge of the seat, can't quit turning the pages type of adventure. Full of action and lots of human emotion, you can't wait to see what is going to happen next. Once again, you will remember the previous characters, and meet some new ones. Also some very serious surprises! A great read, very entertaining.

Lots of personal feelings and emotion between members of the crews. An interesting read.

He had a number of pet projects ,how they relate to what is going on.
A battle fleet against the Swarm has been formed.
A mission like no other, is given in this good flowing plot.

Fantastic! This is a searing adventure amid mind-blowing surprises as the battle to save humanity rages. I felt so invested in the lives of the characters that I found myself feeling their frustration, anger and sorrow. This is a well-crafted, well written story that I enjoyed reading. The scene at the end leaves you wondering...

The swarm is still coming for the USF. Captain Morian is ordered to take his ship to an almost deserted world to bring back the survivors. But the swarm is all over that world, will the Avenger make it back? And if she does will they be able to join Prince Elio and the others in the fight for their lives? This story is so engaging and with all the political intrigue will keep you enthralled.

Book three continues the Sovereign series of USF vs Swarm. Will humanity survive? Blair Howard delivered another fast paced action science fiction book. It will grab you from the beginning and keep you on the edge of your seat to the very end.

Enthralling Worlds

I powered through this one at Mach speed. Again I am invested in a future world beyond planet earth with humanity battling “The Swarm”. I am enjoying a genre that I never expected to. Thank you Blair Howard for this exciting book.

Another excellent book in this Sci Fi series of Blair Howard; story line , characters make way to a story full of action and suspense . Hard to put down once you have started. Received my AR copy and read it in a day so fair to say I enjoyed it and would recommend it highly.

An excellent sci-fi adventure with a well written storyline and an outstanding cast of characters. A page turning read with plenty of action and lots of suspense. Will the Swarm be defeated? Highly recommended book and series.

A good, well written sci- fi with plenty of action throughout and some formidable characters. It takes you on a journey through the stars and an intense battle, fought against all odds. I received a complimentary copy and voluntarily leave an honest review.

Another outstanding book. Non stop Alien battle against humans. Everyone is always on the job,trying to win. Lots of action to keep you wondering what could happen next. Impossible to not get caught up in everything. Danger everywhere, how will this end.

Awesome Space Adventure
Great read and an action packed adventure. The storyline was well developed and easy to follow. The characters were awesome and very believable. I really like this book and I highly recommend it.

I'm amazed that this author can write so many fantastic novels, I hope that he never stops writing. His books are some of the best Entertainment I have read and worth the time to read them. Thank you for a very fun entertaining read.
