Sierra Street was once a rock star, now she's a homeless delivery driver. Finding new accommodation after being evicted is complicated as her best animal friend is... A goat named Grohl.
Scrapbooking entrepreneur Hermione Bates' comfortable little life is turned upside down when she impulsively offers her spare room to the driver who delivers her business’s parcels.
It's just being housemates, gorgeous paper goods, and a goat stuck in the middle, until one night everything changes and their friendship turns to so much more ... Maybe even love?
Renée Dahlia is an unabashed romance reader who loves feisty women and strong, clever men. Her books reflect this, with a side-note of awkward humour. Renée has a science degree in physics. When not distracted by the characters fighting for attention in her brain, she works in the horse racing industry doing data analysis. When she isn’t reading or writing, Renée spends time with her partner, four children, and volunteers on the local cricket club committee.
Cute, adorable, and heartwarming tale of two women finding each other and discovering that they can have more than life. Thoroughly enjoyable novella that I would definitely recommend.
F/F, both white cis bisexual older MCs (40-50 yo), set in Australia
Pretty short and a little rushed. It felt a bit like the author skipped over the emotions in every scene and just told me the outcome. But I loove seeing older queer women so lovingly described. One has been out since a teen, and one has a bisexual awakening. Aging rockstars is a genre I didn't know I'd be into. Also there's a pet goat named after Dave Grohl.
I enjoyed this novella! This is the first book I've read set during the pandemic and it was really interesting. I loved that even though the 'panini' is something important in the story, overall it was well handled and angst-free.
This was a pretty average book for me, at best. It's great to see older people represented in books, but there were times these women came across as past their prime way before their time. 40 read like the new 70.
Two gripes:
1. I think it should be mentioned BEFORE you get into the book that this is set during COVID. I avoid books set then like the plague, which I suspect is why it's not mentioned in the blurb.
2. Shame on the author for using a book to bad-mouth another author. I don't give a flying f*ck who that author is and whether or not they deserved it, but that is poor taste.
FF, older characters, slow, COVID, recovering alcoholic. A pet goat who I felt sorry for. Goats are very social, herd animals and should never be housed alone.
Lesbian romance with middle-aged pair overcoming their self-imposed obstacles
An engaging novella of two women, from very different backgrounds, meeting and ultimately falling in love. What makes this story so special? In a very short time, the readers get a very clear idea of each character, their background and their motivations. Realistic, plausible and entertaining, this novelette focuses on each main character and does no stray from telling their story. Worth the read.
This book is short and sweet. The two FMC’s are older women who have long eventful lives to reflect back on and connect with thanks to the help of their new partners. This is also a bi-awakening story for one of them.
The writing style is blunt. Not quite amateurish, but definitely stilted in its flow. While the dialogue is Extremely Woke and unrealistically explanatory, it’s thoughtful.
It was short and sweet. It could have been longer maybe to go into Sierra's Rock and roll days or met Hermoine's daughter. It was still awesome the way it was written.
This was a quick nice reading. It had a touch of sadness surrounding it with all their past, but it's always good to see people working on looking forward to what the future will bring not just rehashing the past.
I enjoyed this storyline, new start for older women. As an older woman it’s wonderful to know that our age bracket is covered in lesbian novels. Thank you Renee for a new beginning story. I loved it
It was a cute and quick read. It was real and tbh not alot unneccesary drama. However it was very fast-paced so I didn't really had a connection to the MCs. I'd give it 3 stars be it was enjoyable but nothing breathtaking.
