This was not at all the ending I was expecting, and yet it fits perfectly. This whole series has led me on goose chase after wild goose chase. Making me doubt every instinct I possess, and second guess all my pet theories. But I’m proud to report: I was right! In spite of all the evidence to the contrary and the many, many times I was led astray by the events of the previous books, I was correct in my suspected villain. I didn’t come close to being right about their motive, though. That kind of blindsided me and meant that the ending really caught me out of nowhere. I don’t want to even guess where the authors will take us next, but I want to be at the front of the line to go on that ride. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
“This has got to end,” she said, hearing Casey’s voice as if he was talking to her. “You have to stop taking chances.” “Just one more,” she said, thinking of Scott. “Just one more, and I’ll be satisfied. I can’t let him get away with what he did to you.”
“Order, order in the court.” Everyone gets their judgement day. Revelations and shock when Reese and Kay become allies. My assumptions were upended and now we see the whole picture through clear eyes. Talk about a 180° character redemption, who knew I’d change my mind and actually come to like Kay. Just enough suspense left to keep me invested in uncovering all of the answers. A great conclusion to a wonderful series filled with trickery, devious actions and victims. Some victims lived on, some died innocently and others had blood on their hands. Loved it.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "AGONY" WOW!!!! What an action packed intense rollercoaster ride full of mystery, suspense, intrigue, suspicions, betrayal, angst, violence, secrets unravel, danger, twists you didn't expect. Officer Reese Milo works with Kay Havelin after a shocking murder takes place throwing her off you get to see true emotions from her surprising Reese he always thought her cold. Cheif Riles agrees to let Reese work the case because Kay told him he was the best choice to take down the killer & accomplice. I definitely recommend to get this well written series that keeps you guessing to the end & some surprising twists the only thing I found missing for me is a little steam in the story other than that totally awesome conclusion. I'm so looking forward to what WL Knightly bring up us next I love her books.
Kay, a newer lawyer, has to change course due to Reese, a detective turned crime scene investigator, and the events in Misdeed. As the story progresses a new course is set, more danger comes that they cannot forget, and the path forward does not promise the culprit they’ll get. W.L. Knightly has the ability to keep the reader guessing at every turn and leaves them in agony until the end when a perceived avenue of truth gets thrown out the window by an amazingly twisted plot change.
I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.
Great ending It's a very good final episode, totally unpredictable (except on what Kay maybe already knew) Now that Kay has managed to marry Scott whom she hates, that she has managed to stop the investigation on her, she thinks she is safe, but she wants revenge and on Scott and Reese. But Reese, even sidelined, fails to get over her lies and Sallie's death. This episode is unpredictable from start to finish because you never know who will prevail between Reese and Kay, nor who is really hiding under all the manipulations that affect Kay. The story is intense, full of twists and turns in the investigation. It's excellent I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
WOW, just WOW. This series has led us down a million paths and every time I've figured out whodunit, I then found something to make me believe I was wrong. The twists, the turns. Read the series in order or you won't have a clue. (You might not anyways). Kay and Reece are both in over their heads and the world is falling down around them. Fast paced read with so many missteps that you won't see THAT end coming. Awesome ending. Awesome series. The authors have managed it again - can't wait to see what's next.
This is a wonderful addition to this thrilling series! Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start. Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believable. Great suspense and action with wonderful world building that adds so much to the story. Such a thrilling read that I couldn't put it down. Can't wait to read more of these. Recommend reading.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.
OK I must admit that this was not the ending I saw coming. I kept going back and forth as to who was the actual murderer. Kay and Reese were written in such a way that it kept you guessing. Some of Kay's internal dialogue lead in in a certain direction. Reese seemed to focused on Kay and perhaps pushing you toward a false suspect. I will admit what happened with Marnie sealed the killer for me. The epilogue was definitely a shocker. This was probably one of my favorite series by this author.
I can’t believe this has come to an end and what and ending it was. I was guessing all the way through how this would play out and it was brilliant. I couldn’t put this book down, dying to get to the end. Reece got to the bottom of everything after joining forces with Kay, who’d of thought they’d of made a great team.
What an awesome conclusion to this series! I love the way everything got tied together, including the confession (finally!) by the judge. His warped revenge plot against Kay was certainly the long con… but brilliantly written with great twists and turns leading up to the final conclusion.
I can’t wait to read what this author has in store next
The final book in the series and it was brilliant. From the start to the end the book was full of action. Finally will Reece Milo finally find out the truth and put the person responsible and put the away, will Kay finally come to terms and move Forward. Highly recommend your in for an amazing read
Kay and Reese are now working together to solve the murder that is close to both of them. More clues are revealed and a shocking revelation you won't expect. Riveting storyline with suspense, danger, betrayal and lies. The ending did have an unexpected surprise, this series was fantastic.
Awesome series. Kay and Reese set aside their differences and are working together to solve murder. A really excellent end to a great storyline. Kay is in danger of losing everything. I could not put this conclusive novel down until I finished.
Really good series. You have your clear person that you just dislike but then maybe, let me re-think that...things change here fast and the twist and turns of the storyline made me wonder if I had it right. At this point in the series, its a free for all and anything can happen. This series has to be read from book one. Definitely worth the read.
I enjoyed this series. I had to read the next book as soon as I finished each one. I think it could have been made into one book or two st the most. ...each book was too short.
