I often wonder why some people have all the luck while others have none.
I found out the hard way that I was in the second category.
When my husband dies of an overdose while banging my best friend, a long list of unfortunate events unravels before me.

Phew. I still cannot get over this being the author's debut.
The maturity of not only the writing prose, the fact that each and every single character in this book is so well rounded ... blows my mind.
The story starts off with a bang. A secret revealed and a slap in the face. Holy hell! It keeps you on your toes, wanting to know more.
...and more is what this author gives us. The way she unfolds the story kept me riveted because it felt so real, so raw. A lot of books I come across that includes "drama" feel like a telenovela to me, or Hollywood style drama. Situations are blown out of proportion and sometimes it makes you roll your eyes, mentally telling yourself : only on TV.
It is not so with this book! This book is like murphy's law. Shit hits the damn fan at every turn for this heroine and you know what? The author is still able to give us a mature heroine who finds herself growing every time life throws her a curve ball.
After all, what doesn't kill us only makes us stronger.
And boy, does the heroine, Nem, grow. She changes and morphs into a woman you would be proud of to call a friend. In fact, the men around her see her for what she is and only wishes they could have her.
Yes, there is some instalust thrown in but the way the author weaves it makes it so BELIEVABLE. As if, this could have been your girlfriend who have gone through this... or it could have been you.
When life keeps throwing shit at your face, your only choice is to claw your way out of situations. Toughen up and put your big girl panties on.
This heroine is the type of badass I can get behind. So many stories I've come across, "badass" females are portrayed as snarky and almost bitchy.
Not this one. This woman reminds me of so many of the actual real women I know and look up to. The ones who perseveres but doesn't lose themselves completely to their anger, cynicism or bitterness.
....let's not forget the men. How does one make me so interested in them all? Each character in this story have their flaws... but it is in their flaws we find ourselves ever more intrigued and captivated.
I will warn you, this book ends in a cliffhanger that almost made my heart stop. I haven't felt THIS invested in a story that read so smoothly in a while. From beginning to end, I was kept entertained, rooting for our heroine to just have a peaceful damn day of normalcy. 90,000 words? No damn way. I couldn't get enough of what I was reading!
But, like the author, she handles it with grace .... most of the time anyway.
Non stop drama, un-put-down-able, a heroine I can get behind, an author to look out for!
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Plot: 4/5 • Smut 2.5/5 —————> This book was weird. The beginning where we find out her husband dies and is an unworthy, cheating, POS was really good. Watching it unravel was so good.
Then we get to the middle where we find out her dead husband was sleeping with her best friend. Things come around and Nem sleeps with her best friend’s husband. I guess you could say as a thank you for helping get her affairs in order.
Now we’re all set and moved in on the farm and the MC next door is trying to buy her land and making her life a living hell all the while. While all this is happening she’s sleeping with the ranch hand, Chase Potter. People keep seeing people naked. There’s so much sabotage. It’s all over the place.
This actually ends on a really good cliffy. I wasn’t instrested in continuing until we made it to the last 20 pages and now I kind of want to know what happens next. Again, this read was all over the place. We have ranchers and cowboys, MCs, children running around, tattoo artist friends. Idk.

The most ridiculous read
Definitely will be spoilers. I want to stress how this book made zero sense as to our H in particular. Backstabbed and b***slapped is exactly what this book is all about. Our H's husband dies of an overdoes, and if that is not mind spinning enough. He's been cheating with everything that has a Vagina! After husband dies his horrible a** parents take the child she has with dead husband and our H completely falls apart. Now staying with her and her now dead husbands friends, (her bff) the wife starts acting up, and you can already tell what's about to take place here. Anyways (jax) the husband of said bff starts helping out our H wrap things up and help get get back, but is also flirting with our H, creepy!! Like seriously dude!. But after a few chapters and our H getting her child back its ok, because his wife as you might have suspected was also cheating with the cheating doodoo head! So now, our H is drunk, friend aka jax! Comes by and puts the moves on our drunk H, and they have s*x. Its really ridiculous and honestly screams taking advantage of. But what does it matter, she's leaving the next day to go to a property she's just inherited! And this is where the story gets way more ridiculous! We learn how abusive and horrible our H husband really was, and now she's in a town where some ppl want her late uncles land. Surprise! Bring in the bikers! who, come on! These guys are so horrible it will make ur head spin. They completely treat our H horrible, and seem a bit abusive in their own actions against her. Yet she likes them! Wow the red flags are flying! Between them pretty much hurting her a few times and them constantly threatening her! There is literally nothing redeemable about these p.o.s! But our H is a total clown, and instead of her just trying to heal herself, focus on her daughter. She's just kinda around being a big hot horny mess. Honestly the H at this time had me just disgusted with her as a whole individual.

A little warning to all my fellow bookaholics: Make sure you’ve got plenty of time to binge-read before starting this book.
Anemone’s life drastically changes the day police officers knock on her door to tell her about her husband’s passing. When secrets about his life come tumbling out of the woodwork, and every part of her life starts crumbling down, Anemone needs to make a drastic decision: fight to build a new life for herself and her daughter, or allow all the backstabbers the chance to destroy her… When neighbor and best friend Jaxson stumbles upon a letter saying Anemone inherited her uncle’s old farm, she may have finally found a chance to be happy again. Or is this chance not what she expected?
I absolutely can’t imagine how this book can be a new authors debut. It felt more like a passionate project of a seasoned RH author; one close to the authors heart but with all the experience she built throughout the years. It’s one of my favorite contemporary reverse harems I’ve ever read. The story of Anemone sucked me in and didn’t let me go; I even dreamed about that final scene last night thinking about all kinds of scenario’s for the second book. This story has some amazing characters, and I believe Cassie and Willow are two of my favorite side characters ever. They add that little extra to the story to make it even more amazing than it already is. The biggest strength of this book, for me, is probably the big difference between all the characters the author gradually introduces in this book. You’ve got Dom and Eli, MC president and vice-president and true alphaholes, best friend turned to lover Jaxson, shy lawyer Gabe with a touch of germaphobia, second chance love Potter, … and then there is Max/Maxie who stole a tiny piece of my heart.
I can probably go on and on about how amazing this book was, so I really hope a lot of readers will give it a chance and experience the same agony in waiting for the second book…

Oh my!!!
I don’t even know where to begin! Backstabbed and Bitchslapped is a fast paced story full of twists, secrets, excitement and steam. It is definitely a book that keeps you on the edge of your seat, wondering what will happen next. I could not put this book down because I needed to know what was going to occur.
Anemone (Nem) has been put through the ringer with her marriage to a horrible, controlling male (Stuart) and now dealing with the death of him and his family. While cleaning up his stuff she begins to find all of the secrets he kept from her and the nasty plan he was working on, to ruin her even more. Her only saving grace is her sweet little daughter who she loves with her whole existence. Nem decides to move into her deceased uncle’s house that he left for her. This is to be a fresh start for them but unfortunately other’s have different plans for her.
This is where all of the fun begins and more steam happens. Listen to me when I say, you will want to have something or someone with you at all times while reading this book. Oh hot damn!! Our girl has some gorgeous and dangerous men who want to be acquainted with her, intimately. Unfortunately, a couple of them are rivals who have been trying to buy up her uncle’s land and will stop at pretty much nothing to get her to either sell to them. Nem has built her strength up greatly and every time someone tries to knock her down, she gets right back up and pushes back. She is here to build a better life for her daughter and herself, so she won’t be scared easily. I highly recommend this book! At the end, the book leaves you wanting to know what will happen next and wanting to bug Dani until she gives you some kind of clue. Go get this book and start reading it, it is hands down such a good read.

Anemone interesting name by the way, world is turned upside down when she is notified her husband died from an overdose. Her mother n law is a piece of work and treats her like dirt. While trying to pick up the pieces and take care of her daughter, she discoveres her husband had alot of secrets. She moves to a farm and her life begins to take on new twists and experiences. Eli, Gabe, Potter, and Dom play a huge part in the new her life. Without telling too much it was Dani leaves you salivating. My first book from her and I am hooked. Love this read. Wow, what a crazy start to a new series. Couldn't put it down. Anemone has been dealt a really crappy hand at life since she first met her husband. From cheating, to fighting for custody of her daughter to almost loosing her uncles farm. Add in moving and starting over to having a target on her back. The twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat and I can't wait for the next book to find out how the story continues. The steam with Jax & Potter is uber hot 🥵❤️🔥🥵. Can't wait to read about the other relationships that Anemone will fall into. Great first book by this new to me author!!!

Omg!! Where do I begin. This is Dani Carr's first book and holy hell!! I wasn't ready!!
Nem, starts out reserved, but by the end she's a pistol. She comes into her own.
Be ready for twist and turns. Mother- in - law from hell. Slap heard around the world. And these five delicious men that want Nem!!!
Highly recommend. 5 star read.

I'm on the fence.
I dont like our h at all, really. She never really healed from the trauma she experienced before moving to the farm. Then she falls for all her bullies. 🙄 Le sigh.
The twins fucking suck. What they did to her hair was assault. I can't even begin to understand why we're interested in these assholes.

This story is coming out April 22, 2022. This is a story about a woman name, Anemone and she was married to Stuart Willims. One night a constable came to her home with her daughter Cassie, that her husband of 4 or 5 years has died, of a drug overdose, with his mistress. His parents Celeste and his father Mitchell were cold hearted towards Anemone, and her child. She finds out her husband was a serial cheater, multiples of affairs with different women of all ages some older and younger. Anemone friend Denise and her husband Jax are helping support her and her daughter at this time. She found Stuart Willima her husband was in trouble with his family law firm, borrowing money from his parents, hidden things from his wife, did not want her to talk to family, punish her like a child. want perfection in the home so no messes, even hitting her at times when he upset or wants this point across to her. His mother and father, Celeste and Mitchell want people to think it was a heart attack. That when the sassy, bold, heart of the lion comes out. It was great, and funny, just to read this part and then this story keeps getting better and better. I hope you read and enjoy this story as much as I have. Wait till you meet the new people in her life and how the meet.

Backstabbed and Bitchslapped was the PERFECT title for this book.
It’s like that Oprah Winfrey special: “You get a backstab, you get a backstab and you get a backstab!”
From the start of the book, Dani kept dropping bang after bang, twist after twist, spice after spice. I didn’t expect any of the twists that kept coming, her way of storytelling kept me engaged and on the edge of my seat the ENTIRE read.
Anemone is a tough woman. She kept going through through some shit man. I wanted to bitchslap everyone that kept messing with her, starting with her POS husband and his mother. Regardless of her keep drawing the shit end of the life stick, she kept being resilient and standing up to those wronging her, even when she moves to a small town after inheriting her uncle’s farm.
Storyline aside, the guys in this book was *chefs kiss*. Talk about having an all you can eat hot men buffet* Anemone is a lucky woman to have her pick off the buffet, starting with Potter. GOD DAMN. Spice level was a 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️. Anemone got herself into some spicy predicaments lol.
I absolutely LOVED THE CRAP out of this MC book. It was twisty, raw, hot and plots for daysssss. You need to read this series!!!!

Anemone has had a rough year. Her husband dies of a drug overdose, and she finds things out about her shaky marriage that no woman should have to deal with. When she discovers her uncle has left her a farm, she has a place to go, and nurse herself back into the powerful woman she knows she is. She and her four year old daughter then run into complications in town, where her land is something wanted by the local MC, and they won't take no for an answer.
Anemone is one strong lady. The ending of the story is abrupt, and there isn't an HEA, or even a happy for now ending. We also never find out why the MC wants her land. What we do find out is that she isn't going to take any trash from the women around her, or the men who want her for themselves. She's going to be there for her daughter and take what she wants from the world, even if she has to branch further out to do it. The book sucked me in from the first sentence, and didn't let go until the dramatic end.

Dani Carr is a new author, and one I am extremely excited to be following. The title for this book is fitting. The lead character, Nem, has a heartbreaking back story, and one that is well developed and explored which I loved sinking my teeth into. It gave her decisions and reactions later on a believable foundation, and set up the story for success. And yet even with all the angst and plot, there was spice aplenty. Dani is able to create some truly hot scenes with the fluidity of more established authors. The harem has me on edge, and I can't wait to see Nem and Gabe explore their dynamic more. Each of the harem members have their own unique quirks and personalities which is refreshing in a world of reverse harem that can easily slide into cookie cutter copies, or bland cardboard characters. Finally, can we talk about how Dani Carr has somehow managed to blend a motorcycle club, small town, and a farm into one glorious conglomeration of a setting? I promise, it makes sense if you read it, so GO READ IT!

I am not a huge reader normally, although I got the opportunity to read this book and was blown away! The detail in the scenes and amount that was put into the characters makes you feel like you could actually know them in real life. Dani Carr has created a new mind opening experience for me when it comes to reading. The steamy scenes in this book definitely had me rereading and I could imagine every line like as if it was a movie playing in my head. The emotional rollercoaster storyline throughout made me keep reading, not wanting to put it down and I can not wait for the next one. I would absolutely recommend this book to everyone of my friends and family.

Dani Carr is an outstanding author. For this being a debut novel, they have outdone themselves already. This was a book that felt like it was written by a seasoned author, and it just shocks me it was a debut. The writing was well done, didn't have any lulls or slow points, and had me invested the entire time.
Anemone (don't you just love that name?!) is a great character, and shows the resilience that everyone hopes to have when your life crumbles around you. I loved her determination and the sheer strength she showed in her journey.
Dani Carr is an outstanding author. For this being a debut novel, they have outdone themselves already. Wow! This is a fab debut for a new author, it’s starts of a little slow but boy does it pick up. Mind your triggers though as this has tons.
Anemone has lived a hard life with her husband and his demise opens up new opportunities for her. She inherits her uncles farm and uproots with her daughter to the farm where she meets quite a few challenges thanks to Eli and Dom (twins) who are part of a local MC gang. Her farm was nearly sold to them by her departed husband but the sale hadn’t been complete.
The men in her life include Jax who is her husbands best friend, Gabe the mcs lawyer- shy germophobe lawyer and Potter - her uncles previous farmhand and Anemones first crush.
There are tons of twists and turns and the cliffhangers is brutal. Loved it!!

Anemone is woken in the middle of the night with flashing lights outside her house and insistent knocking at the door So similar to when the police came to her less than a year ago to tell her her parents died in a car accident. Now she finds out her husband had died of a drug overdose. He doesn't do drugs she told them. But he did and he was with her friend and having affairs? As she works at clearing up his things she finds out more secrets. Her uncle left her a house and some property so she moved her daughter and herself to start over. More secrets, twist in the plot and she finds her men. A great debut novel that is well written with great character and relationship development. I don't like cliffhangers, but this book is so good. I just want Dani to write faster.

Anemone has experienced the worst parts of a marriage. When her cheating, abusive husband dies she's met with an opportunity to start over on a farm left to her unfortunately her husband had tried to sell it so now that the sale is no longer going forward the attempted buyers the dragon drillers MMC are willing to play dirty to get her out. With a 4 year old daughter, a relationship blooming with the farm hands she's known since her teens years along with a lawyer in the area and having the attention of the twins at the head of the MMC she's got enough on her plate to keep anyone busy. The cliffhanger killed me!!! On to book 2!!!

Every time she gets back up and bosses life.... but then she meets them 😍😍😍 this book has so many hot and spicy men, every single one has won me over im spoilt for choice🙌 but I have a feeling we may not have to choose

Loved It!!
All I can say is WOW! This new Author hit it out the park with this one. This page turner had me on the edge of my seat. The book is full of drama, humor, heat and SEX! The book is a vibrant, detailed page turner. Nem has been put through the ringer. Tested at every turn. With some help along the way she is slowly trying to put her life back together. In her quest for independence from her cheating husband she decides to live her life on her own terms and I love it. I am so excited for book 2 I cannot wait to see what happens. Dani Carr you did it!

Poor An had just about the worst luck. When her husband dies of an overdose she finds out he was cheating on her with not one but multiple people including her so called best friend. She finds out they are plotting to her an inheritance she didn’t even know about! So when he leaves her penniless after his death she decides to leave town to her newly inherited farm. However the town MC is not happy and try their hardest to make her homecoming a very unhappy one! I can’t wait to read book 2 to see what happens next!!

Wow. This book was fire. Like WTF was I thinking? The FMC, Nem is so broken in her marriage but comes out the other end swinging! I loved this tale of a single mom taking back her life and not taking shit from anyone. She also sets down her boundries which is hot and blows the minds of the men who are interested in her. This is the start of a beautiful RH. I loved it! Can't wait for the next one!

This book was just WOW! From the very beginning, this book had me questioning everyone around Nem and had me anticipating what was going to happen next. The main characters drew me in and captured me. The cliffhanger had me screaming, ready to jump into book 2 already. It cannot come fast enough. ❤️ PS: this book will suck you in, make sure you have time to binge because you won’t be able to put it down!

This is one you don't see often in RH and that is why I liked it. It's a debut novel and I love that always as it is a new author, a new style. I enjoyed this book very much as it is different story. Her husband was a cheating offender and the worst offender in history. The guys are awesome, a few alphadudes, friend to lover, a lawyer and the other I really enjoyed, Max/Maxie, you know when you know. Awesome book and can't wait for more by this author to watch.

There are some TW at the beginning of this book, most of it being from a bad past. Nem is one of the strongest characters out there and she takes no sh*t from anybody. Las four years have been rough and once the truth comes out about her husband, all hell breaks loose. She comes into an inheritance from her uncle and decides to take herself and her daughter and go live on a farm. What she doesn't know is that there are some nefarious plans to run her out of town.

Holy Cow what an incredible storyline. I feel connected to Anemone aka Nem. Cassie has stole my herat. Willow is a sweetheart. I don't know how she's related to Dom. The Dragon Drillers are all idiots and jerks. That town needs a good a** beating. All the club ladies except for one are amazing. Potter is smoking hot. Jaxson needs to come for a visit asap. Gunner needs to have a slow painful ☠️. I am so invested in this story I can't wait to see what happens next.

What a fantastic read. I absolutely loved Anemone’s story ❤️❤️❤️ After being a controlled wife she has taken her life back, she will fight to her last breath. The MC are trying everything to get her to leave and sell them her land but she’s a fighter and refuses. The last chapter has me angry 😡 this needs to stop. A definite page turner and very entertaining. 100% recommend this book to everyone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ you will not be disappointed 😎🖤

Thoroughly enjoyed this story. First off I am personally not a fan of multiple characters as my brain just loses track. Lol BUT this book changed that for me. Well written, great storyline and descriptions of characters. Warning - possibly triggering to some as it does include some sensitive topics. I am now reading the next book. Hooked on this series and look forward to reading more from this Canadian author!!
