Yea, I know—the plot thickens. Just when I can finally breathe from the suffocating grip of Havitus around my neck, here comes a plague towards Axias. Truly, I'm not devastated. :) Anyway, I love the art style so much. And, I could have sworn the vibe of the first few parts of the first volume reminded me of Wuthering Heights. I really love this.

you guys...this is amazing!! OMGOMGOMG I AM LOVING THIS !! my reviews are definitely not going to be longer than 50 words bcs im going through this manhwa SO FAST i cant even distinguish the events of each of the volumes 🤍

i love this. i genuinely adore seeing:
i. killian worrying about rieta 🤭
ii. rieta nurturing her abilities and becoming stronger + more confident!!
iii. the girls of the east annex/harem bcs in reality they're not mistresses but spies, assassins etc who help killian on his missions omg
iv. charlotte's character!! she's such a vibe
v. the artwork: genuinely so beautiful
(definitely not in any particular order)

maryam i hope that whenever you come back from hiatus, you come back with a smile on your face which will (hopefully) grow when you see me literally FLYING through this manhwa 💗

Okay this volume severely leveled up!

I love our "harem" gang of concubines that are all secret warriors, assassin's and sorcerers! They are very cool and I love how caring they are towards each other and how much they care about their mission. Especially love the relationship between Rietta and Giselle!

The relationship is developing, he cares so much for her even tough he doesn't dare to admit it. Going to be interesting to see how long this will take. I am a big fan of the pacing this far.

the pacing is slow and I’m not sure where the story is headed but I’m in for the long haul. I really love the ladies of the East. I’m not a huge fan of Reita or Cillian yet but hoping they grow on me. ~ considering this ch 13-26 of the online version

But everyone knows this is most definitely a trap from the Empress- they just have to figure out when and where and pray to the Gods that they all make it out alive.

Hot damn does the story pick up in this one! I don't want to spoil anything, but if you're reading the first volume and trying to determine whether or not to continue, please read this volume before you call it quits.

Rieta is showing some real growth in this volume, so if her passivity bugged you in the last volume as well, she does get better. Killian still feels a bit wooden to me, but I still like him. I love the gals of the East Annex, of course. I blew through this volume in one setting and went straight into Volume 3.

Episode 14 ~ 24

Honestly the story took a turn I had not expected in the least but it was spectacular. Rieta is brilliant and so quick witted and the complexity of the tension between both her and killian is thick thick. This is truly a slow slow burn and here for it completely.

The banter between killian and the empress has me on my toes and the cunning schemes *chefs kiss*.

The ending of this volume!! Criminal. She better be alright..

Omg the Ladies of the East wing!!!!! That's what I'm talking about. If you haven't picked this up then you are missing out. The action and depth of detail with the powers/abilities and skills. Storyline of the two main characters isn't complete and just keeps getting better! I hope this gets picked up one day for an anime adaptation.

4.5, the slow burn is slow burning 😫, wasn't expecting the fantasy / ppl having powers element but i like it, also, we're getting to know a bit more about the characters (even though they're still pretty mysterious) and they seem super interesting, lowkey wish her daughter is still alive and hope we'll see her later in the other volumes.

Watching two mature characters fall in both love and despair is not something you get to see everyday (in books especially) it's beautifully written and the world building is again..as i said before immaculately done.
