Wow! This was a really brilliant webtoon!
The message of the whole story was so beautiful and the pace of it was so comforting!
Yeseul was not the only one to have such massive character development but they all did🥺

it was such a good series, im just so mad they built it up like that and left me hanging on the romance side of things 😭😭

stayed up til 3am to binge read this and no regrets at all. really refreshing takes on makeup/beauty and the societal issues surrounding it! i love the art and i love the focus on all the characters, even minor ones.
some of my favourite moments:
- basically every round of the show had me guessing wtf they were gonna do and they exceeded my expectations every time
- barefaced yeseul during that round and yuseong telling her she doesn't need to be anyone else, boosting her confidence and leading to her standing up for herself
- when yeseul broke up with seungwoo i was like YES GIRL YOU TELL HIM ("turn around. now start walking and don't stop until you're out of my sight" QUEEN)
- heewon ju's character development. love that she had my girl yeseul's back time and time again
- when sihyeon and wooyun come back for the semifinals and we see how their relationship has progressed 🥹
all the characters were so well-written but i want to talk about seungwoo and how terrifying he was. he puts on this facade of the caring boyfriend but subtly manipulates and gaslights yeseul, which makes it difficult for her to realize how abusive he really is and instead blaming herself for everything. i'm SO glad the author didn't drag it out for too long and didn't write yeseul taking him back.
ik a lot of people are disappointed that the romance was lacking but i personally enjoyed it - it was left pretty ambiguous (so i guess maybe it shouldn't have been put in the romance genre?)
i'm off to reread my favourite parts

Personajes muy complejos y completos, con gran crecimiento personal. En especial hablo de la protagonista Yeseul, por supuesto, pero no solo ella. Todos los personajes que protagonizan en cierta manera este webcomic, como protagonistas o secundarios, pasan por diversas etapas donde consiguen ver la verdadera cara de la sociedad y cuestionarse las apariencias engañosas, el estricto control sobre sus actos y la cara que muestran a la sociedad. Yeseul es un personaje fuerte que, pese a las burlas que suscita su apariencia, no se amilana ante nadie y saca carácter, tiene ideas grandiosas y la verdad que me encantó la competencia de maquillaje. A pesar de que estuviesen dos capítulos expectantes, dos semanas esperando a ver cómo se las arreglaba del siguiente atolladero (al final me rendía y veía el capítulo de la primicia en inglés así de enganchada estaba).

Me encanta este weebtoon, al fin lo terminé y solo diré que superó mis espectativas tocando temas que nunca imagine que hablaría al ser su temática principal un concurso de maquillaje, además de que todos los personajes son carismáticos y a cada uno se les da su momento de brillar en las distintas rondas, sobre todo en las últimas yo realmente quería que todos ganarán.
Lo mejor de todo es que el concepto original de la autora nunca se desvío o empalidecio siguió firme hasta el final y no puedo quejarme de la protagonista que es increíble, creo que en general Des/maquillame es todo lo que True Beauty no pudo conseguir con su propio mensaje o protagonistas, dando ese mensaje de amor propio y crecimiento personal.
En fin, amamos esta historia y voy a esperar más cosas de la autora.

Es maravilloso.
La historia, los maquillajes, el desarrollo de cada personaje, sus historias, cómo nuestra protagonista se va descubriendo a ella misma, ganando fuerza, valentía y confianza en sí misma es encantador. El desarrollo de Heewon! Dios mío, qué personaje! La amé completamente, sumamente valiente, decidida, quiero ser como ella T.T
Yuseong se robó mi corazón desde el primer momento <3 Es atento, considerado, respetuoso, le demostró su amor a Yeseul con palabras y hechos. Un hombre encantador por donde lo mire.
Tengo ansias de volver a leerlo! Aprendí, me reí y me emocioné mucho con las historias de todos los personajes, definitivamente es de mis webtoons favoritos de este año.

read this because i saw reviews on tiktok. I like that this webtoon talked about different ways on how makeup can be used and applied which could teach teenagers on how to properly apply makeup enhancing their own features instead of using it to hide insecurities. Though one thing that I'm confused with was the tag for romance when the ending did not really conclude much on the makeup artist and FMC's relationship? It would still be great if there was no romance involved.

I generally like the series and up until the last episode, I really liked it. However, this is not technically a romance story as it doesn't follow one of the main rules of the romance genre In fact, that fired me up so much that it made me come on here and write a semi-review for the first time in years.

Después de tanto, finalmente terminé esta historia y... aunque no tuvo el final que deseaba el que tuvo tampoco fue malo. Fue un buen final y amo como la amistad de Heewon y Yeseul se volvieron tan unidas y como Heewon y Yuseong pelean por la atención de ella JAJAJAJAJ, los adoro.
Me gusto mucho aunque me dolió que no se haya confirmado que ellos hayan quedado juntos troste

Promising story. Love the characters. I like how real life situation and messages are shown in this webtoon. The progression of the story is good and entertaining. The end chapters seemed a bit lacking.

Pretty art, strong message and very fun artistic concepts shown through the makeup reality show format
My only complaint which kept this from being 4 stars is that the ending felt a but abrupt, but maybe that was the intention.

Fui ABSOLUTAMENTE robada sobre el romance, pero fuera de eso es un lujo de manhwa. Es un True Beauty pero bien planteado
