****PUBLISHER'S NOTE - Charlotte's story and Hallie's story was featured in some early review copies through Netgalley. These stories were cut out of the first book before publication and are featured here. :)
I was excited to read this book but came away disappointed. A large part of it was good but I felt there was way too much filler. I mean pages and pages about Christmas ornaments. Also constant reminders of who characters were and recaps of events that I had just read about a few pages earlier. There were also a lot of grammatical errors as well as the wrong names for people. Especially at the end. Maybe the kindle version was unedited? I don’t know as this is my first experience with kindle unlimited.
I still liked the book and catching up with the characters. I just feel it was rushed and a lot of mindless useless details thrown in to take up space.
There were so many errors in this book it made me wonder if it had been translated from another language... How were they missed in the editing process? It was a good story but I found all the mistakes to be pretty distracting.
Still loving this series. This book seemed to be rushed. It had the wrong cover on the ebook on Kindle Unlimited. One of the chapters was repeated twice. There were several spelling/grammar errors in the book. Jessica’s boyfriend was referred to as James but he was Andrew in the last book. But it was still a great story & the characters were believable. I will be continuing reading this series. But first I need to read a biography for my library bingo card. I’ll be back Ava!
I gave the 5-star rating because I enjoyed the story. However, the grammatical errors are numerous and grating. The writer particularly needs to learn to use verb tenses correctly and to distinguish between the transitive verb "to lay" (lay, laid, laid) and the intransitive verb "to lie" (lie, lay, lain).
Book 4 in this series and I'm still enjoying it but the books really need proof reading, the typos and inconsistencies are annoying.
Haille faces a battle, will she win it with her friends help? Sarah gets a surprise in the post, which leads her on a journey and Charlotte comes to stay with Ava, along with Siobhan.
I'm still really enjoying the series hence the 5 stars.
The books are best read in order of publication to preserve continuity of the characters and series.
Editorial mistakes that should have easily been caught before publication, and the repetitive manner the story was presented - I don’t need constant recaps of things that happened only a chapter or two before.
