Ashton Grove Werewolves #2

Moonlight Protector

Rate this book
Cole Andrews, biologist by trade and werewolf by blood, is tired of being alone. He and his two brothers live in the large Victorian home that had belonged to their parents. He’s always wanted to find his mate and start a family. Now that he’s in his thirties, he’s starting to give up hope. He’s already seen all of the women available in his small town of Ashton Grove and so far none of them are “the one.”

Marin Thomas is fleeing for her life. After being abducted and held hostage, she is determined to escape the maniac once and for all. Stealing his car, she travels as far and as fast as she can – until a car accident lands her in some woods near Ashton Grove, Georgia. Fighting for her very life, she finds herself begging a wolf for help.

Is Marin the mate that Cole has been waiting for? Or will she end up with one of his brothers? One sniff tells him that she belongs to his pack. The only question that remains is who will win her heart?

EDITORIAL REVIEWS

"Discovering that Marin is his mate of course brought out the protective instincts within Cole, making him also having to face some difficult decisions that made this story truly heartwarming and so romantic. With careful plotting and planning Cole and Marin touching romantic interludes were well written with just the right touch. You will come to appreciate how this author blends not only the horrors that Marin will face, but also how she makes the secondary characters come alive within the pages of this book." Margo @ The Romance Studio

"Mrs. Coulter Smith has blended a romantic and suspenseful tale. It is a page turner that keeps you reading till the very end. The characters are complex, emotional beings. You should read this story." Arianne @ Night Owl Romance

Ummm, damsel in distress meets three werewolf brothers. Sounds like it could be great, eh? Not so much. I found the plot predictable, the characters bland, the sex so-so, and the execution left alot to be desired, FOR ME.

My biggest beef was that there was nothing different or unusual to make this paranormal stand out from all the rest and her werewolves were rather wimpy.

The book & premise wasn't bad but I almost felt like the writing style was for children. She was decribing every little detail which isn't required. It's hard to describe exactly how I felt reading this - it was almost too simple. At the beginning when Cole is going for his truck you find out that he gets to the house in record time, goes to the 3rd floor, the 1st bedroom & changes back to a man. Once he's dressed, after a detailed decription of both wolf & man you find out that he grabs his wallet & keys then goes back downstairs to his black Ford truck.
The writing style was enought to put me off of reading the other books in the series, even though I liked the general story line. I will try the next book at some time but it's nowhere near the top of my to read list.

What an awesome book it grabs you and keeps you till the end! How evil can someone really be, what lengths will he go too! Full of evil, drama, danger, unpredictable twists and turns, kindness, caring, and wonderful friends. From betrayal by family to rescue and protection from strangers willing to risk everything for her. Can they protect her from the evil stalking her? Will they survive her stalker and can she finally be free? Is it to late to find love and happiness, or will it be taken from her? From hell to heaven in a week, what’s next. Will the secrets destroy their chance for a future. Wonderful, awesome heroes who will sacrifice all to save her, and destroy the evil that is coming for her!

Decent read

This was an ok book. Very, very descriptive. From what stores they were/weren't going to to the exact clothing they were wearing. While this is normally lacking in most stories, it was overkill in this one. My only other complaint is a minor one. When Marin was getting her tattoos covered up it was all dine in a few hours. To have 2 tattoos covere up at that size plus a new one is usually done over several sessions. And for it to not even be mentioned by the bad guy made it seem pointless. Otherwise the story was pretty decent.

We last saw Cole in the previous story, "Moonlight Haunting", when he was involved with Cassie and Matt's story. While there seemed to be a little love triangle, it really wasn't. In this book, we get Cole's story and he does end up finding his mate, Marin. We also get to know a little bit more about his brothers. The series keeps getting better and better! Loved Cole's story and I can't wait to read the rest of the series! I'm becoming addicted to a genre I didn't think I was going to like. I encourage people to take a chance and read the series.

This book was full of suspense, drama & action. Cole meets Marin when she escapes her abductor, a whirl wind romance follows along with a lot of trouble. Definately worth a listen, the series is very good, narration is good. I received this book in exchange for my honest review.

This book is brutally honest. It has a great storyline and likeable characters. The situation the leading lady finds herself in is very traumatic but luckily these heroes found her. With a fantastic performance from Holly it’s a very enjoyable book.

I do love paranormal romances very much because the authors create this totally different world that is similar to our own world. But these worlds these authors create are filled with all these paranormal creatures that we only think is myth but are totally real in paranormal romances. I know that author Jessica Coulter Smith loves to read paranormal romances so when she writes paranormal romances are what she ends up creating. I had her guest blog yesterday on Talk About My Favorite Authors about her current release Moonlight Protector , which is the first book of her Ashton Grove Werewolves series. I also will be posting my interview with her tomorrow so check back tomorrow on Talk About My Favorite Authors to find out more about Jessica's writing and about some of her hobbies and favorite authors. Today I will be reviewing her first book in her new series called Moonlight Protector and what a nice read that was for me.

Cole Andrews is a biologist by trade but he is also a werewolf by blood that has been passed down for generations through the female of the family. Cole is tired of being alone and wants to finally find his mate so he can start the family he has been thinking of starting soon. He and his two brothers live in the large Victorian home that had belonged to their parents and the car garage across from their home is the family business that has helped them keep their nice home. Cole's older brother Gabriel is the alpha of their pack and his twin brother Michael is the irresponsible brother who is a playboy.

Leaving Whispering Lake we follow the brothers to their homes. Cole still wanting to find his mate comes across a woman, Marin, that was in a bad wreck while in wolf form. Knowing that she belonged to his pack the goes for help. Gabriel comes to help, but neither of them know which one she will choose. Staying in wolf form he stays by her side until she is better. Marin has a horrible past that follows her and the brothers will protect her to their death.

This book is a great start to the series. These book are unique in the way they handle the story line. The characters and the fantasy part are also unique. A really good fantasy romance.

I finished this, but it really wasn't for me. The love story/romance was just unbelievable. It happened in a matter of days and I found myself rolling my eyes repeatedly. The hero rolled over for the heroine - anything she wanted. But, she, of course, was completely undemanding, petite with a huge rack and totally un-traumatized by being raped. The villain was a side show. Not for me.

I honestly did not even finish this book. It was so boring, it was unreal, and I honestly did not have the patience to deal with reading through the boring parts.

Writing was good, interesting premise but way too much extraneous stuff. We don't care what the character orders at a restaurant or that they're washing their face 20 times. Otherwise good read.
