I don't think I can describe how much I love this book in simple human words.
Words alone can't do it justice.

This story has everything you're looking for and more.
The dynamic and tacit understanding between the main couple and their deep love for each other is something that I truly enjoyed.

"They were going to separate again, and this time, he didn't know how long it
would be or whether there would be a day where they can meet again.

If they met again, would he still remember that he once had a lover like him?

Probably not....

Look, even before parting, he already misses him."


Finding out that You Huo's mother was the main reason he got involved with the system because she wanted to find a reason to love her son, makes my blood boil.
He was just a child, and they made him into a test subject. Which then later led to him getting eye surgery and being blind for TWO YEARS so that he could get the system out of his eyes.
That woman deserved to die WAY sooner than she did.



"Don't close your eyes at me, Big Invigilator. You don't need to avoid me. You don't have to ever do that.
I won't be afraid of you, I won't distance myself from you, and I won't think of you as a monster.
That is how much I love you."



The ending did tie up all the loose ends, and it was truly satisfying to watch how everything slowly came together.

My only complaint is that open ending regarding 154. He was a part of the system, but according to the last chapter, he survived inside a disc. However, we didn't really see what happened to him in the end; did they get him out of the disc in the end?

All in all, I truly adore this story and would definitely recommend it to anyone and everyone.

I actually read the translated webnovel from KK Translates but I wanted to feel like I accomplished smth great by reading the whole novel so I just marked the four volumes of the comic as read

This was a very compelling read, tho MCs be kinda OP sometimes lmao and logic is kinda difficult to follow at points but it’s fine. 9/10 for me

According to Qin Jiu, You Huo is a "tough nut to crack" but I'm pretty sure he is a nut he wants to crack. XD

As the group of examinees plus the examiners spend their first day in the village, they have to face creepy, horrendous gossips which turn out to be more than just mere gossip when they wake up the next morning. One examinee is gone with only his roommate left behind in their room which is full of blood everywhere. But they still have to continue the exam and try to solve their given tasks.

Qin Jiu is still messing around with You Huo as usual, trying to make him use his special card which You Huo always refuses. As their second night arrives in the village, You Huo finds out some information regarding the examiners' ranking system. It turns out that Qin Jiu wouldn't be able to tell him more even if he wanted to since he doesn't remember much from those days. His memories are gone due to a supposed malfunction in the system.

You Huo and Qin Jiu wait for that mysterious person, who kidnapped one of them yesterday to catch him, then walk into the forest in the dead of the night to find the missing person. It feels like a scene from a horror film. But in a weird, grotesque way, they still have an exam question to solve until the time is up. Talking about working under pressure.
