Warrior Mates of Zivon #5

Enticed by the Alien Outlaw

Rate this book
I’ve never been the type to fall for bad boys. But this hardened alien criminal tempts me in ways I never expected.
It’s been months since we crashed into the Zivonians’ ship and were offered a place to stay, and in that time, I thought I had explored every part of The Oasis.

But I was wrong. There’s one new place I just discovered: the brig.

I wound up down there by accident, and now I can’t stop thinking about the Zivonian prisoner with the mesmerizing eyes and the intense stare. I know I shouldn’t let myself be drawn to him. He’s behind bars, after all, and the Zivonians wouldn’t do that to one of their own unless he had done something awful.

The smartest thing to do would be to pretend I never stumbled into the brig in the first place and forget all about him. But for some reason, I can’t stop myself from going back to visit him, curious about this mysterious alien in spite of myself.

I visit him every single day…

Until the day he escapes—and takes me with him.

Enticed by the Alien Outlaw is a full-length standalone sci-fi romance featuring a hero with dark secrets, and the stubborn human woman who sees something in him that no one else ever has.

If you like sexy aliens, sweeping adventure, and steamy romance, you’ll love this series. No cheating, no cliffhanger, and a happily ever after guaranteed!

Note: each book in the series can be read as a standalone, but for maximum enjoyment, it’s recommended that the series be read in order.

I love reading romance, baking (well... eating) cookies, and binge-watching sci fi shows with my husband. I'm a sucker for a dirty talking alpha with a heart of gold, and I write stories about fierce aliens and the strong Earth women they fall in love with.

A few scrapes and fated mates!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 🖤💙❤️💚🩵
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌍
Character development: 🙂🙁😋😘
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙
Narration Type: Dual Narration

The heroine: Zoey - she is an eternal optimist, who even though she survived a terrible car accident on Earth that left her with scars and chronic pain, she still is always looking on the bright side of everything. She learned that it is best to focus on the future instead of dwelling on the past. This helped her quite a bit when she was abducted by aliens and held in a too small cargo bay of a spaceship which later crashed into a hanger on the huge Zivonian ship called the Oasis. She now lives on that ship with the Zivonians who rescued her.

The Hero: Dax - he is one of the few Zivonian’s that was able to escape the attack from their enemies, the Krull years ago. Though his brother was the one that was tricked by the Kruul and took down the Zivonian defense system which allowed their enemies to attack and burn the planet, killing most of their race. Dax protected his brother’s memory and told everyone that he was the one who betrayed their people, and he has been confined to the brig for five years on the Oasis ship where about 100 of their people were able to escape to.

The Story: Zoey comes across Dax as she is walking around the ship, and they get to know each other. Dax decides to escape and go find out about what really happened the night his brother disconnected the early warning system. Zoey immediately follows Dax, and they end up traveling together for a bit and getting into a few scrapes and finding out that they are fated mates.

I liked how this story went back to the destruction of Zivon and gave us more information on how that happened. I also liked that this one started on the Oasis ship. Like the rest of this series. The world building is great, and the characters are likable and well developed with each having their own story. Zoey's resilience and optimism, even amidst scars and hardship, make her incredibly relatable and inspiring. Her transition from surviving a traumatic car accident on Earth to navigating life aboard the Oasis with the Zivonians adds a captivating layer to her journey. Dax’s arc, with the heavy burden of guilt and his pursuit of the truth about his brother, is just as gripping and ripe with emotional depth.

The setting of the Oasis ship and the overarching Zivonian-Kruul conflict provide a fascinating backdrop that feels both high-stakes and expansive. I also admire how personal character growth is balanced with larger, universe-shaping events like the fall of Zivon and the tension between species.

This audiobook was told in dual points of view and narrated in dual narration by C.J. Grey and Joy Beharie. Both of these are natural sounding and expressive narrators. C.J. Grey has a deep, gravelly voice which works well for alien romance. Joy Beharie has a pleasant voice, though I am not too fond of her southern accent, though I have no good reason for it. They do a nice job though.

Enticed by the Alien Outlaw by Presley Hall, the fifth book in the Warrior Mates of Zivon series, is probably the best one so far. Zoey and Dax are well developed as characters, and the plot is crafted with suspense that will keep readers on the edge. He’s an honorable hero, but he doesn’t win all fights because he is woefully outnumbered each time. Dax is imprisoned on the ship The Oasis when he takes the blame for his brother’s error in judgement—a decision that allowed the Kruul to attack and almost decimate the whole Zivonian people. For five years, Dax has said that he disconnected the early warning system when it was really his brother who was tricked by the Kruul. They told him believable lies promising better for his people. Dax was wrong to admit to something he did not do, but he was trying to protect his brother’s name. Zoey changes Dax’s thinking slowly with her outlook on life so much so that Dax escapes to go to his destroyed home planet to find out what really happened the fateful night of the attack. Zoey follows him onto the ship and won’t leave against his better judgement. Thus begins the real tension of the story. I almost got taken in like Zoey, and if it had not been for Dax’s dream of his father and brother, he would have too. Don’t miss this enticing tale of the Zivon people.

Presley Hall has another great addition to her Warrior Mates of Zivon series. In Book Five you get to experience the evil Kruul up close and personal. I love how Presley cleverly entwines this action packed story with romance. I love the two main characters Zoey and Dax. Zoey teaches us forgiveness and Dax , the alien outlaw, surprisingly finds his mate…someone who believes in him and loves him unconditionally. Beautiful story❤️❤️❤️❤️

Disillusioned and lost freedom.

This is the story of going back to get answers so that you can have a future. As always Presley doesn't disappoint with a lot of intrigue drama and love. When you have lost everything and you are making your home with an alien race that is nearly extinct you come to accept the joy in the simple things. While walking around the ship I get lost and end up near the brig I don't know but there is something about this man locked up I can not explain. Thanks again for a great story look forward to the next.

This series has never failed to disappoint. Every time I think it can’t be different and better….it is. What I think I loved the MOST about Zoey and Dax…….is the compassion. Life is raw, rough, and unforgiving sometimes. I loved how they both let life take them to different places, but so honest and hopeful. It was nice to have one going back home. The hope and joy really made this book connect to the reader.

The Zivonian series gets better and better, book number 5 is Zoey and Dax’s story and a story of truth will always come out.
Dax is a moody dark prisoner and Zoey is drawn to him after finding him while exploring the the Oasis, when he escapes she follows and their adventure begins a hunt for the truth with a bit of love, redemption and belonging thrown in.

This is book five of the Warrior Mates of Zivon series. This time we find Terran Zoey attracted to Zivonian Dax who is being held prisoner. When he escapes to clear his name Zoey sneaks on board with him. Will he find answers and claim Zoey as his fated mate? Steamy adventure.

A good character driven romance story

Another excellent installment in the Warrior Mates of Zivon series, led by two very likable main characters. Our FMC, Zoey, survived a horrific accident on earth, and still has the scars to prove it. She hasn’t let that affect her outlook on life. She has never succumbed to the “dark side” and always looks for the bright side of things. While this type of character can easily get on your nerves, the author has done a very good job of juxtaposing her optimism with a pragmatic outlook as well. These combine to make her endearing as well as a force to be reckoned with.

Our MMC, Dax, isn’t quite sure what to make of Zoey when he first encounters her. She has stumbled across him in the ship’s brig, as he was the one who disabled the security system that allowed his people’s enemies in and was the cause of such devastating loss. But we find that all is not as it seems and Dax now wants, more than anything, to find the truth.

Like the last book in the series, this book doesn’t rely on space skirmishes or races around the galaxy to be interesting. Although there is some of that, it is a means to an end rather than the whole shebang. The real meat of this story is the blossoming relationship between Dax and Zoey. He has stopped feeling anything, and she wants him to feel everything. I do love a PNR book where the characters sink into the bond, and our main couple do exactly that. I love a good redemption story, and this one’s got all the things I love that make my lil heart go pitter-pat.

I highly recommend this book and will definitely continue with the next book in the series.

Enticed by the Alien Outlaw

Zoey during one of her walks discovered the brig and its lone prisoner. Over weeks she learns his name, Dax, and the reason he's in the brig. He escapes and she follows him onto the small ship he's taking and refuses to leave. They make their way to Kaigon to learn the truth about his brother and why he disabled the defenses and allowed the Kruul to attack leaving a dead planet. They mate along the way and when they land go to where he was to meet his brother that night. They find a cave and Syus's journals with the explanation they were looking for but were drugged and captured by the Kruul that were still living on the planet. They were made an offer they were made to accept but were able to escape later with a lot of seeds and started plants. When they returned to the Oasis he was returned to the brig while the commander, his second and his advisors listened to his story which was collaborated by Zoey and interviewed other ship mates that were around Dad and his brother before and during the attack. He was found innocent, was released and he and Zoey are back together.

Dax the only Zivonian in the brig hold cell for a crime against his people and planet. Or so it seems, he’s been locked up for 5 years for the crime he admitted to do. But things change when Zoey wanders to the brig by accidents and meets him. He tries to be curt with her to get her to go away. But, she is intrigued by him, wants to know him and what he did to land him inside and not be by his people. After days of continual of going to talk to Dax, he finally wants to prove his innonece, but he must have proof. But can he find it and will his people believe him?

Oh man, I was wondering how Presley will continue on with this series and boy was an highly entertaining, action pack yes, mystery yes, answers now answered and things brought more into light and how bad The Kruul are. They are not to be trusted unless they prove themselves worthy, but right now no. Anyways, I loved how Zoey made the best out of everything and tried to see the good in everyone. Until their true self was presented and the ugliness of themselves was clear. I adore this series and wonder if they will find a new home planet to call their own. I truly hope so.

Finally we get to learn about the man in the brig of Oasis. And about Zoey. Probably the most likeable heroine yet in the series. “I just wanted someone I could love with my whole heart, who would love me back.”

“…the different kind of pets that people keep…” — kinds
“…tangling with his at it slides…” — as

Dax has been in a single cell for five years. A daily regimen of strict habits has kept him surprisingly sane. But even so, he doesn’t believe he deserves anything good or light - a sure sign of PTSD. Zoey, with her hard won optimism, changes all that.

in and of itself,

Apart from a couple of edit errors above, and a tendency to flood with arousal, this is a solid book with very hot scenes. Wish the epilogue had been about them instead of an advertisement for the next installment. I tend to skip those anyway. Also, he never got to the two chests in his brother’s secret cave. I wonder what was in them?

Human Zoey has been on the Zivonian ship for months now and as part of her exercise, she has been exploring The Oasis. Then she discovered the brig and can't stop thinking about the Zivonian prisoner who has an intense stare and mesmerising eyes. Then she starts to wonder about what he must have done as she knows that they are peaceful people but her feet make sure that she visits him every day. Then Dax escapes and takes her with him on an adventure to their original home planet to uncover evidence of a mystery. Will their mission be successful and can they return back to The Oasis?

I enjoyed this story. Both characters were suitably complex and had enough of an individual background story to show that the mate bond was not just loneliness or desperation. It was easy to read and understand and I definitely felt the jeopardy at some points in the story. Contains some mature content.

I loved this book! It was such a wonderful story! I loved the book before this one and didn't expect to be as entranced by this story as I was (I should know better! lol). Great world building and amazing characters. Both Dax and Zoey were so well developed and complimented each other so well. Dax's story was intriguing and I really felt for him. He didn't always make the right choice in his life- like taking the blame for a crime his brother committed- one with severe consequences for his people and planet. And also has earned him five years in prison with a lifetime of it still ahead of him. This was an exciting, fast-paced story that I couldn't put down. Another fantastic read from Presley Hall. Highly recommended. 5 stars.

I'm trying to find the words for how much I love this book! Dax and Zoey are perfection. The story is so good and so involving that once I started reading I couldn't put it down! I really hope there will be more in this series..I'm not ready to leave the Zivon's yet.

Presley Hall is a master at her craft. It's really that simple. Her characters are people I want to know..they're perfectly imperfect. The world building is amazing..I can see what she writes. The stories are gripping..once you enter you don't want to leave. I will always buy her books with full confidence that it will be worth every cent and every moment of my time.

Another exciting story!

As with the previous books in the Zivonian series, the fated mates in this story experience a series of suspense filled events where their lives are on the line and you can feel yourself mentally telling them to run! Zoey and Dax were well matched, she was such a sweet, caring FMC, filled with a love of life and wanting to believe the best in people… just the type of mate Dax needed. Enjoyed the story immensely! I love how the Zivonian males have such a good code of honour!

Quite good

They were quite active. If it wasn't her, it was him.
You would start to wonder why there weren't more kids running around?
Were they eating or drinking something that kept them from getting pregnant? Because the story didn't say anything about the females visiting the doctor for some type of birth control.
Even when they get on the Oasis, there wasn't a good amount of kids up there to.
Were they trying to save it until they were able to find a planet they were able to find that they were able to inhabit. Or were able to share with another species.

I think I’ve been enticed by the MCs because I fell in love with their story and I loved a happy ending. I was wondering how our couple would have a hea when one of them is in a brig. Well, their road to happiness started when he took the first step to free himself from the past. Our FMC is just the motivation he needed. But of course, it is not without danger. So expect action, adventure, suspense and our happily ever.

Great Story

Loved the story with Zoey, a woman of colour, and her attraction to a Zivonian prisoner, Dax. And when Dad escapes, she follows him on an amazing adventure. How Dax reveals the truth about what happened to him the night his planet was invaded and his people destroyed. But the journey to find out the truth will be long and painful but he will have Zoey to help him!! A great read!!

Hot and romantic

Forgiveness is one of those things that is very personal. When we forgive people we forgive people not for them but for ourselves. I love how this romance intertwines forgiveness between the two and with the two characters. This is a very wonderful and sexy and I touching romance.

Desire!

Wow, Enticed by the Alien Outlaw is smolderingly hot! Dax is a Zivonian held prisoner for five years on the Oasis. Zoey is the human, attracted to him when she finds him in the brig. Their romance is filled with action, adventure, choices, the Devious Kruul, shoot outs, hot hot heat, and sweet sweet loving! Great novel!

It was good. I felt like it was a bit predictable and not much different than the rest of the books in the series. I am happy that the mate marks have appeared at different points through the story in this series though. In other alien series I noticed the bonds tend to only appear at the very end, and I get bored waiting. I like the focus in these books on other plot points!

Fascinated by the Alien Outlaw

A group of human women were kidnapped by vicious aliens and then rescued by the Zivonions. They are treated with kindness and respect and yet Zoey spends alone time walking the corridors. Then she comes upon the brig and there is a prisoner alone.

Loved It

I am enjoying this series, looking forward to the next book. The description of Dax does not match the cover. Look like the same model/guy is on the cover of every book in this series. Sorry. Still love the series.

Second chances

Neat story of a woman who always tries to look on the positive side of things and gives a jailed alien another chance. You have to cheer on someone who takes responsibility. Ending was a twist with a HEA.

Could be better !

Starting off the story line was very nice but as the chapters started going bye it became slow with too much description with only a few verbal lines between the couple. Sorry this was a bust for me,
