Men of Eagle Peak #2

Fixing Their Heart

Rate this book
It’s a new world with new rules, but that won’t stop the only surviving female from making some rules of her own.

It’s a new world, and there are new rules. Like the superpowers all survivors of The Virus are Gifted with. Like how a single man serves as Judge, jury, and executioner, doling out capital punishment with barely a blink. Like how one woman can be shared by seven men.

The Men of Eagle Peak have created a settlement, and their goal is to pioneer this new world. Cora needs them for survival and protection, and they need her because she’s the only living female as far as any of them know. The human race will die out unless Cora becomes a mother.

But Cora isn’t ready to be a mother. And she’s not interested in a new world where women are defined by what their bodies can provide for a man. She is determined to carve out her own role at Eagle Peak, even if she has to stand up to seven convicted felons to do it.

A woman with an abusive past finds her happy-ever-after with seven obsessed, over-the-top alpha males in a post-apocalyptic world. If you’re looking for a reverse harem story bursting with eroticism against a backdrop just bleak enough to keep the tension going, this story is for you.

Past sexual assault, daddy-talk, copious use of pet names.

This full-length novel is book 2 in a 4-book series and has a happy-for-now ending.

Mira dreams of a life where hairy-chested, foul-mouthed pool men serve cocktails while she reads in the embrace of a shady hammock. Sex is sacred. It’s also fun. That’s why Mira writes smut with feeling. In her perfect world, every woman who wants it would have access to entertaining, titillating, thought-provoking stories in an environment free of shame.

That was a smut-fest…no complaints

Somehow I forgot there was even a story being told behind all the smut lol. It was sexy but man, idk how Cora ain’t tired. Her jaw at least had to be 😆. I do appreciate that penetrative sex didn’t happen until the end, considering it’s still been fairly recent since she’s escaped from her captors. I think the timing could be easily overlooked when it’s not mentioned but it was glaring to me 😅.

I don’t believe we got Jud’s POV here which I noticed because this book felt positively light and fluffy in some regards. It’s amazing what not being in the mind of an incel misogynist can do for your mood. Still don’t think he’s redeemed and don’t like him. He has much to do to remove his name from my lil notebook 🧐

Rev is the GOAT. He’s my happy place in this series and I’m so glad we got to know him more. I demand many more scenes with him. The other bois were cute and sweet and whipped. Scratch or Scranton (the younger one, what is his nameeee?) needs more screen time. Trying to give 7 MMCs personalities, relationship development and screen time is hard so I hope to see more in the next books.

Book 3 seems to be where the action’s at, I’m looking forward to what’s gonna happen there ✌🏻 Hopefully no more trauma for Cora tho.

The ongoing story of Post-Apocalyptic Snow White and her Seven Burley Dwarves. This was a great continuation to the series and answered several questions that I had from the first book. It also gave us a deeper understanding of every character and his motivation, some more than others, and had lots and lots of kinky sex. Maybe too much sex. This woman went from raped and tortured to banging and blowing seven guys all day long. But it’s smut, so that’s to be expected. The sexy times were varied and creative and hot, so I really can’t complain. I did have to take breaks (even though the FMC apparently didn’t) because it was a lot. I was very happy to note that everyone that survived the apocalypse was NOT only white and straight, I won’t divulge how because it was fun to discover.
To those with triggers or sensitivities there are many again, this was as dark as the first. They include details of rape and torture described in flashbacks, suicide and loss among others. Hit me up if you want spoilers or page numbers, they aren’t prevalent, but they do appear.
So it ends on another cliff hanger, if you go into these read them in order and expect to read them all. I still think it should just be one book and the author got greedy. But I’m sucked in and need to see how this ends.

There were enjoyable moments in here, but with the page count, I should have expected that this would be more insta than anything. I will have to say, reading this made me realize something: I am a fan of age gap, but APPARENTLY, I have a max age difference. I was very uncomfortable with Cora and Rev's relationship. I think it wouldn't have been as bad if the 'daddy' aspect wasn't thrown in. Again, I usually don't mind that, but it was just so cringe with Rev. Not to say anything about his character; he was kind and patient to her.

The story leaves off with an impending problem and Cora's still working on her relationship with the men, so there's things to look forward to, but I think I'm done with this series.

This one was better than the first. It’s kind of ridiculous if you think about it too much but I’m good at not thinking so it’s fine.

3.5

Book 1: 3.5 stars
Book 2: 3.0 stars
Book 3: 2.5 stars
Book 4: DNF @ Chapter 9

*sigh* I can't finish the last book, Book 4. I've just gotten to a point where I'm so taken out of the story that I cannot go on. But, I tried to finish a series, for once, I really did! Is it my fault that they always lose their momentum? Hm, could be.

There's just something about the writing style and choices that have just accumulated to the point where I can decide that it's just not for me. Overall, I don't think I would recommend this series. It's not bad, but it's also not great.

See below for a super long review, but the tl;dr is that it just badly needed an editor, more transparency (and maybe planning) on tropes and kinks, and more realistic timelines.

**Note that this is an overarching review of the entire series, not a single book. I binge read, and they get muddied in my memory, so I just smoosh them into one review. This will get copied to the other books in the series.**

Pros:
-World Building. This is ultimately what hooked me and kept me going. It's like someone was playing a game of Pandemic but it was real. Then throw in magical Gifts for everyone and a mystical God-like entity called the Working. Innate pulls to people and places. Prophecy dreams. It was really interesting and unique, and I definitely wanted to know what would happen.
-Some of the guys could be great. They have a lot of potential with interesting backstories and quirks. #TeamShep but Grim, Doc, and Brawn were also fun. Highkey get the cringe from Rev, Scrap is boring, and see the Cons list for Jud.
-Plot reminders. You ever read a sequel, but you kinda forgot stuff from the previous book? Well, in these, a recall is woven into the first chapter as part of the plot. As a binge reader, I didn't love it. However, if you read these as they came out, several months apart, I'm sure you'd appreciate it.
-Smut is okay. It was definitely interesting. Pacing stood out to me as well-done. If these are your kinks, you'd probably really like the scenes. See caveat in Cons.
-Minimal typos. They do exist, but they aren't glaring or immersion-ruining.

Cons:
-Unrealistic trauma recovery. Look, I get that this is not a literary tale. It's just a romance, meant to be fun. But, I still expect a level of realism. A young woman, barely an adult, who is a sexually and physically abused prisoner for 2 years in a post-apocalyptic world, will not be having sex and cuddling perfect strangers in one week. She won't. The author tries to make it realistic, I guess, by writing in Cora being triggered by stuff and "going to the darkness", but she comes out of it super fast and doesn't dwell on it. She also has a newfound sexual awakened and discovery that, again, doesn't fit her trauma timeline.
-Unrealistic experience. I find it so hard to believe that anyone over the age of like 13 wouldn't understand what sex is, and what a clit is, and what penises are. Cora, however, has the sexual knowledge and awareness of a girl raised in a hyper-religious, conservative upbringing. She's never masturbated because she was "too busy". (side-eye). And yet, once the harem gets going (note, in... 2 days of her arrival... after escaping her abuser), she's all about making out and heavy petting and BJs. (bombastic side eye).
-Everyone's personality is their trauma, except Cora's which is being nice. And it's BORING. 99% of the world just died and you can't talk about your shitty ex from 5 years ago?? Like, why we being all secretive?
-Jud is an unredeemable asshole. OOH the sexist caveman, women-are-objects-for-sex, we-gotta-repopulate-the-planet-so-she's-a-brood-mare-for-us-now garbage he both thinks and says. Then, he's downright hateful towards Cora, like a right DICK who snappy and aggressive and impatient. At point, he even blatantly threatens Cora with sex, declaring it'll happen whether she wants it or now (woop woop r-word alert) *tonight*. idc if that doesn't actually happen, he SAID it and he MENT it. THEN. OH THEN. Doc tells Cora, "you gotta understand, he's a leader, and you're to first time he's ever been questioned, and he doesn't like it" which totally does not explain his behavior, nor excuse it. I think Cora is just gaslighting herself the whole time into liking him because she thinks she should because he killed her abuser. No, sweetie, he never groveled or played nice or anything. She just d e c i d e s to give him a chance. Then for 2 books he does a 180. I'm sorry Ms. Author Stanley, you don't get to ignore that you write him as an asshat in Book 1 and pretend his just a misunderstood-bad-boy-with-my-wife-cheated-on-me-so-I-don't-trust-women mindset. No. He's terrible. You can't convince me otherwise.
-Weird theme of gender roles and expectations, but with NO reason. So. Jud never says anything about repopulating the planet to Cora. That's just inner monologue for him. So, explain why Cora gets it in her head that that's an expectation of her, since she's the last woman? She has a lot of thoughts that, again, sound like she was raised in a really religious, conservative cult. Her thoughts towards sex have this problem, too, where there's literally mentioned the phrase, "don't give out the milk for free." There's also a lot of protector themes, which I don't normally mind, but they grated on me here.
-Insta love. See #1 con.
-"I watch porn for the plot" but it was real. This particular series HEAVILY features the Daddy kink from Book 1. (not my bag of kinks tbh but I was kinda into the world building). But is does end up eating in to a LOT of smut later on, and #1 daddy kink isn't for me, and #2 Rev is like, not a cute or interesting or sexy guy. The age gap is huge (his 52 to her 20), and he is written as a born-again religious fanatic with , I quote, "crazy eyes" and a "huge wooden cross" necklace. I cringed my way through many smut scenes just to get to the plot, and I'm literally not kidding.
-I don't think the series was planned as a series. I think it was written just by book. Book 1 is only like 150 pages, while 2 is 250, 3 and 4 are 350. This, imo, really messed up pacing and character development because Book 1 is super fast paced and relationship are basically instant, but then all other books lowkey drag.
-Plot hole. Why does Raptor not care about the Texas settlement? They are closer than the Montana one, so you'd think he would want to raid their supplies. How and why would he have thought to send his bird spies north?

Pet Peeves that got on my nerves, honestly don't really matter, but I still didn't like
-the Daddy kink. the Age Gap. the toe sucking . Not for me, but y'know #dontkinkshame or whatever.
-if you're in Texas and you're given sweetened tea, it's "sweet tea" not "sweetened ice tea"
-everything sounds like an older person wrote it. It's in the language and vocab of choice. Phrases like "loving on you" for sexual acts. "Schoolmarm". Cora's constant reflection on her youth. The aforementioned gender and sex things. It just doesn't sound like how a younger person would write?
-multiple uses of the word "preggers" in lieu of "pregnant"
-my DNF was caused by a line in Book 4 wherein on of the characters (not the oldest one, Rev) mentions that he was in Desert Storm. Assuming the book is written in the modern (which is not indicated otherwise), he at minimum would be 50. This is in directly contrast to earlier descriptions of their ages, is a major error in writing, and completely ruined the character and thus story for me. Too big of a mistake to forgive.

I’m into this but at the same time recognize it’s all kinds of fucked up lol.

Cora is so contradicting. By all accounts she led a normal life until 18, but still refers to her genitals as her ‘area’. Has to be told what ‘agency’ means, has never had an orgasm until she met the men, but knows how to Domme a man.

Though the most… problematic thing has to be how her entire life seems to revolve around sex, despite escaping a rape dungeon a mere week before. By all account she must still have scabbing over the wounds that the first book mentioned were infected, yet rather than wait for even those to heal, or even wait a few days to let her body rest and recover, her one concern is her issues with penetrative sex. Which she’s desperate to get over, because she is in love with a man she met less than a week ago, and she has decided to give him her virginity.

Credit where it’s due, she is explicitly told that she doesn’t have to hurry shit, that she does, in fact, have agency over her body and actions, and that she’s not expected to repopulate the world even if she’s the last existing woman. I appreciate the plot addressing this issue and the fact that it was born out of the years of abuse before she escaped. But it doesn’t change the fact that most of the plot revolves around sex, when Cora escaped a rape dungeon less than a week ago. I keep going back to this because the narration explained in detail she was malnourished and covered in bruises, infected wounds and scratches, yet in a matter of a couple of days she’s giving handjobs and blowjobs willy-nilly. A time-skip of a couple of months would have solved that really easily, but nah.

Besides that, the writing was fine, if repetitive. The plot feels like 90% smut and smut-related activities but it kept me engaged. It’s an interesting setting, and the characters have very different voices (though the narrator’s choice of tone for Brawn made him sound like an abominable snowman). I’m gonna finish the series, even if it ocassionaly hits me with ridiculous nonsense such as
She makes gun-hands and points them at each other. The barrels draw circles around each other in the cutest gesture of insecurity.
Like a bashful anime character lmao. Just. Whatever.

Achingly beautiful

I didn't leave a review for book 1 because I literally read them one after the other, and this will have to cover both.

I wasn't sure what to expect. Mira is a new author for me, and at first I thought it was going to be typical trope, but it's sooooooo not, it is so much more. Cora the FMC is so broken, so utterly broken down by the worst few years of her life, the loss of her family, friends, everyone she knows, and then kept in captivity and abused and tortured. But she's also brave, kind, sweet, and so full of life with so much to give.

The guys are protective and strong, with their own wounds and broken jagged pieces. These two books are about a group of people finding each other starting the process of healing and learning to love again in desperate, wild circumstances.

It is a RH, Cora has 7 guys, there is a content/trigger warning so please be aware.

This is really beautifully written, I bawled my heart out in places, and now that danger is on the way I can't wait for book 3 to come out!

Worth the wait!

I was so excited to finally see the second book come out in this trilogy. The Men of Eagle Peak drew me in immediately. All of them broken in some way. Loved getting to meet all of them in this book and see their strengths and weaknesses. This second book was about growth and understanding one another. It also touched upon something wicked this way comes...can not wait for the last book in this series.

Would highly recommend...if you like Alphas who are wounded but big teddy bears to their one and only you will jump on this gravy train....happy reading.

Oh and on a side note the smut....chefs kiss!

steamy doesn’t even begin to describe it

This is the second book in the Men of Eagle Peak series by Mira Stanley. I found this book/series, to be a steamy read. I like how the author gives a little more history about our seven sexy men. Also, I enjoyed how the heart of them all, is finding herself and the courage to help the men heal. Yes, this book has triggers, personal, I felt it made me that much more connected to our heroine.
Steamy doesn’t even begin to describe this book. (Whispers… This is a great book for a little extra foreplay.) I would recommend this book to those who likes to read multiple partner type reads.

This is book #2 to Finding My Heart by the same author. I read them back-to-back.

I said in my review of book #1 that the issue of Cora's previous sexual assault and torture was handled sensitively and realistically. She'd been held captive for two years and been punished for even minor infractions, and had cigarette burns on her back, spelling out her captor's name.

The guys are all very patient with her, even though Jud, the leader of the group, is an a$$hole (which I'd also mentioned in my review of book #1). Well, in this book, we find out that Cora gets over all of her traumatic past in the span of one week. Considering that she would have meltdowns and flashbacks whenever any penetration was attempted -- even with fingers -- I found it hard to believe that she could get over it that fast.

Sure, Rev had his way of 'healing' her, but still...

There's dd/lg in this book between Rev and Cora. In the previous book, there was a bit of that between Jud and Cora, as she did call him "daddy" occasionally, too. But Rev really thinks of himself as her daddy and honestly, he's old enough to be her daddy as well, and this isn't my kink so I tried hard to ignore those parts.

Cora also inexplicably turns into a domme with Brawn, to alleviate his fears that he might get too rough with her and forget his strength, and end up hurting her. Again, I wasn't sure how realistic this was. I can understand her wanting to take control back after feeling that she had no control for two long years, but... I don't know, I guess it just didn't feel believable to me.

However, I liked that the author gave all the guys their own weaknesses and traumas from the past. So the 'healing' is two-way. It's not just Cora who is wounded; the guys' wounds also come to light, so Cora also helps them to heal.

I liked this because Cora wasn't merely a needy or broken FMC, unlike in The Cardinal Series by Mia Smantz or Pieces of Us series by Kerry Taylor where the FMC needed help and the guys were the strong ones and rallied around her with support and protectiveness, and it was a one-way street. I liked that Ms Stanley made this series more balanced and acknowledged that everyone has some kind of wounds, just that most of the time, our wounds are hidden.

The book takes a bit of a bizarre turn at the end. There's a cliffhanger but it's not too bad; the book doesn't end in a highly dramatic or angsty scene, thank goodness.

Overall, I liked it but I felt it didn't fulfill the promise that I saw in the first book. Jud still hasn't come round and is still trying to stay aloof, constantly suspicious of Cora's motives. Cora is revealed as a bit too good to be true in this book as she's so caring, compassionate, and giving -- a veritable saint. I'd have expected her to be more cynical and wary, if not distrustful, after her two years of misery and pain. I'd have expected her to look out for herself more, rather than to be thinking about pleasing the guys -- or at least, to be wanting to please the guys more as a self-protective measure (so that they continue to keep her safe) rather than because she's curious and wants to make them feel good. Ah well. The 'L' word is thrown out in this book too, and as I said, a week is just too soon.

DNF - 100% of book 1 & 2 - 8% of book 3

***Review Shared for the series***

***Spoilers Ahead***

Okay so.... I wanted to love this series so bad. I love a good damaged fmc. And this girl is d.a.m.a.g.e.d.

One man. One word. One d0uchcanoe... Judge.

I wanted to see him be redeemed. I did. I wanted to see him get his head out of his a**. But I lost patience with this man. He was just as bad as Leon. He saw a woman and decided she would be used as a breeding cow. And because he is a man? he has the right to make that decision? Like... I'll give you protection but you have to let me use your body... oh and six other men.... And then he continuously treated her like she wasn't even human. He had these rare moments where you thought he saw her differently and then he would say she is leading him by his d*ck. Like no sh*t dude. You're letting your d*ck lead you too. What's the difference? And then to have them have a daddy kink? No. Sorry. He is literally the WORST man to have a daddy kink with. Daddies actually care about their baby girls as humans at least.

Okay Jud rant over...

The other men are the reason I continued to read these books. They were good for the most part. I still think everyone should have stuck up for her more and not pushed her because that's not how trauma works, but you win some you lose some.

The plotline outside the relationship was kinda meh. I wish Leon or his brother had survived so that they could have been the antagonists. The conflict kinda came out of left field when the relationship just started to work through their issues so it was kind of a lot. It had really just started up when I decided to quit so I didn't get very far into it.

Also the entire series seemed heavily focused on her sexual relationships. Which is all the more reason her trauma should have been more of a focus to work through.

Thank God (ha! inside joke once you read it) for Rev. Their relationship was a bit cringey (mostly because he came off creepy in general sometimes, but also because of the age gap, and I love a good age gap) but he was the only one that actually seemed to really focus on finding ways for her to heal and move past what happened to her. Their Daddy kink was more DDlg which is rare to read and was a nice change of pace and seemed to work for them. I also appreciated how the author explained it in the book.

Grim was... chef's kiss. He can be husband any day. I loved that their relationship seemed so natural and she trusted him so much. Also the fact that he was genuinely p*ssed off about how she was being treated him made him a favorite.

So yeah, not only of my favorites... I might come back for the smut later on because that was pretty good. It was a great idea. I just wish it had been executed differently.

I started skimming at 89%

Handjobs, fingering and blowjobs got boring pretty quickly.
Also, I was DESPERATE for the time pace to hurry up a bit. This entire book takes place in a matter of 5 days or so.... I mean, come on!

Also, as a Scandinavian, I didn't like how the Norwegian guy was portrayed and how the accent was written. Scandinavians are not Germans. We don't end our sentences with "ja"/"ya" and most Norwegians are fluent in English and perfectly capable of saying "that" without it sounding like "dat". It felt a bit insulting to be honest. Like the author has never actually met a Scandinavian.

I DID like that the main character honored the camp's rules and didn't do stupid things like so many heroines do. She makes the best of her situation which seems like what a rational human would do.

Also, the two daddy/lg dynamics are hot as hell.

The smut scenes just seemed too normal, too innocent. And I really fucking wished the author would have scrapped that whole "recovering from rape"-storyline.
The recovery is not realistic in the slightest! And it just slows down all the sex and discoveries shoe could have had with the guys!!!

Arg this book was an ok but frustrating read.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

book 2

It’s been hard to disassociate from the fact the fmc is fresh out from captivity only to hop into intimacy right away. There’s no build up or time passing that shows her growth as a character to make her bed hopping believable. If you can get over that then this book might be up your alley.

I don’t like the lack of trigger warnings.
This author tries hard to turn this into a dom type situation and it’s hard when there are attempts at it but then the fmc’s father is compared to situations that turn spicy. I guess for me the last thing I do is monologue in my head and compare prospective love interests to my dad. Total vom moments. I think that was a fail on the author by the ton. I also feel like it’s hard to take the fmc seriously when this book seems like it’s from a time of electronics and access to content and she’s talking about the male member as a “thing” it makes her sound childish? Cue the discomfort.

Title- Fixing their heart
Author- Mira Stanley
Method- kindle
Length-
Tropes-whychoose, apocalypse, supernatural
Spice-  5/5  🌶
Overall- 4/5

Summary-
Cora is growing to be what is needed for Eagle Peak. She is facing her fears and learning about her body by being with each man at Eagle Peak. But while she is facing her fears, the men are beginning to grow as well. With Cora's gentle hand, shes helping them fix their wounds.

My Opinion-
This is such a hot hot series. The scenes are hot but also the story is soooo good. Mira is such an amazing writer creating the trauma and growth Cora is facing. I love this series and I am so sad that I'm half way through and need another series like it.

Even though I didn't finish, I don't want to give one star, because it's not dreadful. I just got bored. The first book had virtually no story beyond girl meets boys, and this is pretty much the same with hints of story to come but there are just too many men to get through first.

I like that there is focus on getting to know the characters a bit, but it makes it very slow and uneventful.

Also, if one more thing was described as 'manly' I was going to lose it! Although, it was mostly a 20 year old girl pov so maybe that was accurate for a girl with 7 much older men.

Alright, so this second book did not move the story to some action or tap into the mystery surrounding the 'gift' apart from the fact that the FMC spends more time with each guy. I guess it might be a me thing here rather than the book itself as the writing style is not bad at all and I thought the author had an interesting concept with the whole different abilities type of reincarnation, but the story itself had a different focus. I think this is a first for me, not finishing series. I will give it a rest and maybe at some point, come back for the last book.

Loving this series!

I didn't leave a review for book 1, but now that I am done with book 2, I want to keep going. All these characters are broken, both before and since the Virus. But they've been brought together, and are starting to heal each other. Good characters, love the storyline, mild D/s play, Daddy play, exhibitionism, but well written. I'm ready for book 3 and 4, I don't often read a series one right after the other, but can't wait to find out what is next as a threat comes to take away their Heart.

I really like the story. It’s more than seven men having sex with one woman. It’s about how they all survive after a virus swept through the whole world. How they interact with each other, and what brought them to this place. I like all their different personalities and what each person faced and what they lost. The biggest thing about this particular book that I didn’t like was too much repeating information that I got already from the first book. I don’t understand the reason for that, but I will still continue on to the next book.

For people in possession of a uterus, if like me you are currently home alone and in the ovulation phase of your cycle, you're gonna have a rollicking great time with this. Highly recommend the audiobook version. RH with an MMC in every flavour. I was very sad to discover last night that the third & fourth books aren't available on audible Australia. Quite frankly, teasing me with all the foreshadowing that group activities would be forthcoming only to then hit me with "this audiobook isn't available in your region" and leave me hanging was pretty! frikking! rude!

Finding love

I'm really enjoying this so far. I will say I dont like how grim calls her his wife but she likes it so there is that. As long as he doesn't think he owns her and over the guys. Jud is still the boss. I like pet names but wife seems to personal and shouldn't be used. But again as long as it doesn't interfere then it doesn't matter. I dont usually like age gap stories but this isn't so bad.

Fantastic

I can't even begin to say how much I absolutely love these books, and how much I'm looking forward to more. They are superbly well done, with great characters, emotional depth, interesting (actually fascinating) plot, and such a great great reworking of a classic fairytale. Wholeheartedly recommend. The blurb threw me off, but thankfully my curiosity drew me in, and I'm so glad. For sure five stars. And I'm going to purchase after having borrowed with KU.

.

The second book in the series - following a virus wiping out most of the population. A group of 7 men and a woman create a base camp and explore their relationships together.

I really enjoyed the second book, it explored the relationships more between each character and we learnt more about their pasts. There was also a lot more spice as Cora’s confidence grew and she became attached to each male character.

The pace picks up with the story. FMC meets the rest of the men and discovers that not only does she care about all seven of them, but she LOVES them all.

War is coming when birds from Louisiana start showing up in Montana and the reason is - the guys from Louisiana want the FMC.

What happens remains to be seen in Book 3.

Surprisingly wholesome

For what is essentially a smutty take on snow white and the seven dwarfs, except its the end of the world, everyone has superpowers and the dwarfs are giant sixes convicts, this book is a surprisingly wholesome read. Don't get me wrong, but it is exceptionally 18+++ but full of emotions and real relationship building and it is surprisingly lovely. I've very glad I found this series and am looking forward to the last of the trilogy.

Wow I'm really getting into this story.

I originally thought that Cora having 7 boyfriends would be very confusing and that they would all merge together. That is SO not true.

Each man is an individual and they have a personality, a power and a lot of mental damage.
While Cora helps them deal with their issues, they start healing her as well.

Can't wait for more

We meet the rest of the group in this book and again I am shocked how well these characters are written where they actually have distinct personalities. FMC is claiming her body and her mind and it’s great to see. But trouble is brewing - a group from Louisiana knows about her presence and is coming to take her for themselves.

This series just keeps getting better!

I can't put these books down! I love the dystopian, reverse harem, romance of this series. Getting to know each character, their pains and flaws is told so well.
Excitement is building. Never a dull moment. I read a lot and these books surpass much of what I have read recently.

Super steamy!

What can I say, I'm completely addicted to this series. Better and steamier than the first book, I can't wait to see what book 3 has in store for me.
Each dynamic is so very different, but they all fit together perfectly and give the reader a truly compelling story.
