Match Me #1

Meeting His Match

Rate this book
A satisfying category romance from Entangled's brand new Lovestruck imprint…

When New York matchmaker Addison St. Claire is tasked with matching her best friend's new brother-in-law, she almost refuses. But the sexy southern CEO turns out to be a challenge she can't resist, because if anyone needs to meet his soul mate, it's this man. And if matching him with someone else removes the temptation of being near him? Even better.

The last thing Caine McNeill needs is a matchmaker—especially a gorgeous redhead who spouts nonsense about soul mates, critiques what he drives and how he dresses, buys him a dog, and pesters him about a million little things he couldn't care less about. It's a crying shame he has to keep his hands off because chemistry like what's flaring between them ought to be explored. Thoroughly.

And so the battle begins. Addison is determined to stick to her plan of setting him up on dates with other women, and Caine is equally determined to ignore these women and seduce her.

THREE MATCH ME STARS.

"Each person only got one soul mate - it was the glorious and tragic truth of life."

description

Katee Robert is an author who I'll always gravitate towards, her books are filled with romance, great characters and witty conversation. As an 'entangled' enthusiast I almost certainly have my favourites amongst the authors and this author is definitely in that group. Now that this publishing house has decided to branch out and create books under the Lovestruck title I can only be more excited that I'll be reading more from this author that I have grown to love.

What's it all about?
Meeting his match was an enjoyable story with a match making twist as usual with a Katee Robert novel the characters were mostly likeable with a theme of steamy sexual tension, seduction and sweet romance throughout. The story follows Addison st. Claire who makes her living as an expert matchmaker and the 'no time for love' business man Caine McNeill. The tables soon get turned on our feisty red head as her meddling into caines love life turns into undeniable attraction and lust between them both. A few twists and turns and up and down drama and you are left with 200 pages of enjoyable romance.

Why not five?
Overall I didn't fully connect with the plot and sadly the heroine somewhat irritated me with her thoughts and feelings. It's unlike me to not fall insanely in love with a Katee Robert novel unfortunately this time around it didn't have that 'suck me right in factor' that I so often have with this authors writing. However I did enjoy this short novel and it took me no time at all to sit back and enjoy a couple of hours of this authors writing.

Final thoughts ...
If you are a fan of a light romance with a likeable twist then I'm sure you'll get wrapped up into Caine and Addison's story. There was plenty to enjoy about this novel and although I didn't fall head over heels in love with this book I do appreciate this authors talent of putting together a story. I'm hoping other readers will like this too, enjoy ... Kisses.

3 CEO meets Match-maker Stars

She'd gone and thrown away every single one of her rules for him

Remember Brock from Seducing the Bridesmaid? Well this time it's Brock's sexy older brother's turn at a HEA. And who better to match him with than a matchmaker that also happens to be Regan's friend?

Addison St. Claire is a successful New York matchmaker. What she may lack in her own love life, she makes up for with her clients. So when Addison's friend Regan asks for a favor in matching her workaholic brother-in-law, Caine, she only struggles with it for a few minutes before saying yes. The problem? Convincing the man that he actually needs her help. But she's determined, even if it means moving into his Tenessee mansion and dogging his every step.

Unfortunately it's a little difficult to match a client when all he's focused on is seducing you into his bed. And Caine? Well let's just say he's very convincing, in and out of the boardroom. It doesn't take too long for the chemistry between them to be too much to deny.

I wasn't quite sure why, but I struggled to form a connection with the 2 characters from the very beginning. Technically this is usually the recipe that never fails to entice me. However it never quite happened here. While i did enjoy parts of this book, other parts had me raging and wanting to pull my hair out. Why? One word, Addison

She drove me out of my mind batty with her "one soul-mate per lifetime" business. Caine made his intentions clear from the get go, but the way Addison behaved reminded me more of a confused and hormonal teenager than a woman in her late 20s. Her constant back and forth made me want to reach through my kindle and just shake some sense into her.

Could I understand the why's of it? Sure. Was it enough to make me look past her at times just plain hurtful treatment of Caine? Not even close.

I felt like SHE should have been the one to fight for Caine and not the other way around. So sadly, this managed to really diminish my enjoyment of the story.

I did love catching up with Brock and Regan and the epilogue was super cute as well. But unfortunately when I dislike a heroine or just can't connect with her, it will never really bring a book any higher than 3 stars for me. Such was the case here.

But please don't let this deter you from reading the book. It was a great installment in what looks to be a very promising series. While I didn't love it, I can't say I hated it. It was a like for me. But I will gladly read the next book in the series. I do enjoy Katee Robert's writing, but sadly you can't please everyone, and I do tend to be picky when I don't like a heroine.

4 - She was a complication he didn't need. Stars!

I really enjoyed reading Meeting His Match; if this is the quality of writing we can expect from the new Lovestruck line from Entangled, then I will be front and centre for each new release going forward.

Addison and Caine were both likeable and easy to get along with, and the story was one of romance, seduction and happily ever after, with a few laughs thrown in along the way. Katee Robert really knows how to give the reader exactly what they want when it comes to romance. Both of the lead characters were strong, well rounded and knew what they wanted, and although Addison had a few wobbles along the way, I like that most of the drama of their developing relationship came from outside factors rather than from the couple themselves.

He looked at her like she was virgin territory that he was about to conquer and claim for his own.

I really liked Caine McNeill (Brock from the Wedding Dare Series older brother), and by saying I liked him I mean I really, really liked him. Nothing gives me the quivers more than a man full of charm and who uses the term darlin’ in a way that makes you feel he is verbally pulling your panties down. Caine does that, and with oodles of charm to spare.

”Tonight is about you darlin’. Whatever you need, I’ve got it covered.”

Addison has heartbreak and loss in her past, she believes strongly in soul-mates, and that we all only get one true love. She thrives on giving others their ‘Happily Ever Afters’ and has made it her business with the success of Connected at the Lips, lately though the sparkle seems to have become a little tarnished and the satisfaction she once felt seems to be missing. Taking on the job of matching the CEO of McNeil Enterprises with his perfect match, seems like a great idea to get her out of the rut she finds herself in, she just never imagined that she would be the one who fits with Caine perfectly.

”I’ll make you a deal” … “I won’t kiss you again” … “But next time you kiss me, all bets are off.”

The build up between these two simmers and sizzles, I loved that they didn’t immediately jump into bed together, and that everything developed between them at a steady pace as the book progressed.

”You don’t have to do it alone” … “You could do it with me.”

A perfect start to the Match Me series, I loved the epilogue, and I am looking forward to seeing where Katee Robert takes us and who with, in the next book.

Addison is a match-maker and love what she does, but lately what used to make her happy, now only make her see what she's losing. Especially since she believes that she already lost her chance in love.
Until the day her best friend asks her to match her brother in law, the lonely and broody CEO, Caine. And a spark that she wasn't expecting appears.

But how does she match someone she believes that belongs to someone else?
Especially when he also don't want to be matched with anyone but her?

Storyline: A sweet and slightly predictable romance for when you need a quick and low on angst story.
Writing Style: Third person. Dual Pov. Engaging, sweet with an easy flow.
Character Development: Addison was good and sweet although a little insecure for my taste. Caine was also good but his feelings looked sometimes forced. It was nice to see more of Regan and Brock.
Steam: Hot.

If you love Katee Robert, I doubt you won’t love this. Although slightly tamer than her usual offerings, she delivers every element we have become accustomed to in her books. With a man to fall in love with and a strong-willed lady who captures his heart, Meeting His Match left me a very happy girl.

Caine McNeill lives to work. And the man is miserable. With an overbearing father, a brother miles away with his own family and a huge house he’s rattling around, it’s no surprise he’s lonely. Addison St. Claire is his sister-in-law Regan’s best friend who runs a dating agency. Unbeknownst to Caine, Regan sends Addison to the deep south to sign her bro’ up and find him the love of his life. See where this is going…? Lovely.

description

He may be the millionaire CEO, but Caine is a complete treasure. This southern gentleman is the perfect blend of sexy, charming, sweet, bossy and brooding and I loved him. And when I read the words greying at the temples and beard, out popped a little moan of appreciation. He may be filthy rich, but he’s grounded, realistic, makes no secret of what he craves in life and this is why I adored him. Addison was equally as likeable, she frustrated a little but in an understandable way and she has a good heart. They have a wonderful chemistry and his determination to make her see they are perfect for one another makes for a sexy, romantic journey that I devoured.

So if you’re looking for an easy-read, captivating romance with wit, touching moments, passion and some tension this is the book. Goes without saying, I recommend. If this is what we can expect from Entangled's new Lovestruck imprint, I'm sold.

(It’s worth mentioning that this is loosely related to Seducing the Bridesmaid, one of Katee’s Brazen books. Whilst characters do cross over, Meeting His Match can easily be read as a standalone.)

3.5 stars, darlin'

I loved the Come Undone, Out of Uniform and Wedding Dare series from Katee Robert, so was very excited to be reading her latest Match Me series, being published under Entangled newest imprint; Lovestruck.

NY matchmaker, Addison St. Claire, has a stellar reputation in getting people successfully matched & on the road to Love town. Her best friend (Regan from the Wedding Dare series) has put forward her brother-in-law as a very suitable candidate for Addison’s adept skills, so suggests she makes a special trip south to meet and match him.

Caine McNeill is a very successful CEO who doesn’t have time for too much play. The arrival of the familiar redhead, with her eagerness to exude the benefits of finding your soul mate, is met with irritation closely hiding a lustful fascination. Addison temporarily moves into his house with a dog….and her puppies…which she couldn’t separate. Here commences her dissection of Caine’s life, and attempt to introduce him to the habits of someone more likely to appeal to a prospective love interest.

I enjoyed the premise of this story, and the banter and chemistry didn’t disappoint. Watching Caine soften and start to relish the idea of Addison as his target was great reading. So I had nothing but admiration and pure lustful thoughts myself towards Caine, but I’m afraid Addison just didn’t stick to me like I would have expected. Her initial strong presence and bolshie attitude towards Caine’s obvious attraction, was amusing, endearing and created some great repartee between them. But this seemed to wane as the story continued, and she came across as indecisive, contrary and damn right annoying. I guess my level of irritation was prodded, and I just didn’t like her.

It’s funny how a character can affect your review so profoundly. I love Katee Robert’s voice, and it was no different in this story. Fortunately, Addison will not put me off any of her future works whatsoever. I think Caine held my attention quite nicely, bless him!

Your normal run of the mill romance novel.
I didn't really connect with either of the MCs. Addison could've been great if her personality wasn't all over the place.
Caine was... not as charming as I was supposed to believe he was. He was too pushy for my liking.

I am officially sold on the new Entangled Lovestruck imprint.  This book was kind of a no brainer for me though because Katee Robert is one of my favorite authors.  I fell in love with Brock McNeil in the Wedding Dare series novella, Seducing the Bridesmaid and shortly after its' release Ms. Robert informed us that Brock's big bro, Caine, was getting his own book! I have absolutely complaints about this book.  I really liked Addison and I loved Caine and I absolutely loved them together.  They had instant chemistry and an attraction to each other and there wasn't a whole lot of dancing around that attraction.  This book was a super easy read and it wasn't full of angst and obstacles...not saying there we NO obstacles but it was reasonable. Caine was...delicious.
He went still, as fascinated by the confused look on her face as by the warmth of her touch against his chest.  She stared at her hand like it didn't belong to her. "Um..." If he were a better man, he'd extract himself from this situation and let her retreat.  He wasn't a better man.  He closed the small distance between them and did what he'd wanted to do ever since he set eyes on her.  He cupped the back of her neck and kissed her.

I am here to tell you...Caine is the better man. :)  Every time he said "Darlin'" to Addison, I melted into a gooey puddle.  I loved that very same thing about his brother Brock and I almost wish there were more McNeil brothers to read about!  I also really liked hearing about Regan and Brock (we get a couple of little cameos from them) I cannot wait to read more from this imprint, I really liked the concept of this one and I can't wait to see what Ms. Robert releases next!

I am a fan of Katee Robert and when I saw this title I knew I had to grab it! If you’ve read Katee’s contribution to the Wedding Dare Series, then you might recognize the names of our main characters in Meeting His Match.

First we have Addison St. Clair. She’s Regan’s friend, and she’s a matchmaker. She’s grown up believing in sole mates and that everyone only gets one perfect match in their life… and she had hers. So she gets that thrill of relationship firsts vicariously through her clients, and she’s successful!

Regan convinces Addison that she is needed to save her husband Brock’s older brother from a life filled with only work. So she is off to Tennessee.

Caine McNeil has spent his entire life trying to live up to the expectations that his father has laid out for him. We learned a bit about those in Seducing the Bridesmaid, but we find out all the dirty details in Meeting His Match. Caine is unhappy though, he’s not sure he’s doing what he’s loved, but his problem is that he isn’t sure what else he likes to do. He spends all his time at his office and with no one to go home to that’s easy to do and it’s possible he’s spent more nights on his office couch than in his own bed.

When Addison storms into his office demanding he start figuring out what he wants out of his life he’s prepared to send her away. But he can’t deny the chemistry that blooms between them and Roberts does an amazing job building the tension between these two.

And Caine… I don’t know what it is about this man, because I never thought I’d swoon over a well-placed “darlin” but he sure worked for me. From his initial stubbornness to his realizations about his feelings and coming to terms with them, as well as his own self-discovery, I really found myself falling for him right along with Addison.

No matter how much she denied it. And even though her feelings about sole mates frustrated me a bit, I was happy to see her make a few realizations of her own.

Robert has created a light, fun story with plenty of heat and swoon. If you’re looking for a quick, sexy read, make sure you grab this one as soon as it arrives.

Thank you to Entangled for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest thoughts.

First of all, this cover is true to its main characters. I love those covers.

Addison loved her late husband who was killed in Afghanistan and she has this notion that he was the only man for her. For Addison, soul-mates are once in a life time. On the other hand, Caine lives a shell of a life with work and his father's company taking all of his time. The last on his mind is a soul-mate until Addison comes into his life.

Meeting His Match is definitely an enjoyable book with good writing.. I was not impressed with the first 10% of it because I felt the two MCs weren't that compatible.. But surprisingly the writing didn't have them ripping each other's clothes off for a short book. There were some really funny situations where Addison set up Caine on some dates and how she got him dogs and always managed to get under his skin with her evaluations of his non-existent life. I did not like Caine's parents at all. His father was arrogant and rude and sexist *gag*

The writing showed how each really needed the other very subtly. And after the 30% mark, I needed them to just get together. They were that good. I enjoyed the writing and I can't wait to read more from Katee Robert.

This was an enjoyable read. At first, you think that the characters were incompatible, but as the book continues, they begin to open up and be themselves. Their chemistry was good. I thought both main characters learned something about themselves. Addison learned that she can love again, and Caine learn that he deserves love. I loved the epilogue when

The whole “we can only have one soul mate and I already met/lost mine” mindset of the heroine just isn’t a conflict I’m interested in

The heroine is also the worst kind of dog person: one who completely dismisses the fact that other people might not love the dogs as much as she does

Normally Katee’s chemistry is spot-on, but “my body betrayed me” really isn’t working here

The hero is… wildly unremarkable. Can’t tell you anything about him except he works too much.

And I'm not interested in dating any of these matches. I'm interested in dating you.

This was soo cute! Quick and enjoyable. I love how initially grumpy Caine is and how he softens with Addison. He turns all domestic and it's the cutest thing ever. I found the third act to be annoying & it didn't make any rational sense. Addison never took any real accountability for her feelings and actions. I wanted more groveling and a larger grand gesture!

This was a nice, quick read.

I liked Caine. He was a very realistic character with relatable flaws and stresses. I'm a little surprised he allowed Addison as much latitude as he did, but I suppose that had to have happened for the story to progress.

Addison's whole "only one soulmate" thing got really annoying. I also didn't like her very much because she was brash and insistent. That's not really a type of heroine I enjoy reading about. I don't like the soulmate concept, but I can accept it so long as I feel it is well-written and the couple really really have chemistry and are mature. I felt Caine met that criteria, but Addison...

Generally, the romance was sweet, but I couldn't fully enjoy it because of Addison. The same goes for the rest of the plot, but I think the book was decently written and I still like the author's style.

Meeting his Match is a standalone title, as well as the first book in the Match Me series. It is from Entangled's Lovestruck line and I think I have found one of my new favorite imprints from Entangled. These books are perfect for when I am in a romantic kind of mood. Ok, let me set the stage for you. Reagan sends her successful professional Matchmaker of a best friend down to help out her brother in law find his soul mate. Caine is a complete workaholic, and hasn't really made time for anything else in so many years. I really liked the premise of the story, it was simple, but it worked oh so well.

Addison is a force of nature. She just sweeps into Caine's life and kind of starts mixing everything up. I loved it. It was exactly what he needed. She really was like a breath of fresh air in his life. I  was immediately drawn to the fire that they each brought out in the other. Addison has her own sad past that has clouded her view of love. She saw her grandparents beautiful marriage and her grandmother also told her that everyone got their one true sole mate and once you found them, that was it. That was the only person you were meant to have. Addison found her soul mate in her high school sweetheart. She was married to him young and completely happy...until he died overseas. Now she thinks her chance for love is gone, so she sets other people up. She is a very thorough match maker. She even bought Caine a whole little group of fluff ball puppies to make Caine more approachable, and she named them after the ninja turtles. How can you not love that??

I loved Caine. He is a guy that knows what he wants and he is not afraid to put in the hard work for it. He is charming. And when he turned that charm on Addison, I have no idea how she held out as long as she did. Ummm hello...I just want to put in him a room with me and have him call me Darlin' all day. Yep, that would be great. At first him and Addison completely butt heads, but eventually  he comes to like her. And then the real fun begins. Addison puts the breaks on big time, and Caine is so adorable in his attempts to convince her. I just really loved their dynamic. Their chemistry jumped off the page. The story is swoony and sweet and hot at the same time. It is a great story to make you feel good. I loved the dual point of views, and I loved how Addison affected Caine thinking. It was great to see how invested in her he was. Caine makes the list of my book boyfriends for sure.

Meeting His Match is a great premise for a series of standalone romances. I really want to see the story on Caine's brother. It would have to be a prequel story I guess, so I am not sure how that would work, but his relationship with Reagan is something I want to find more about. Then again, I want to see more of Addison and Caine (and all those cute little puppies!) so I am going to need a bunch more books. Yep, please get on that Katee.

Review from: http://mischievousreads.blogspot.com/

I've always wanted to read this novel ever since I saw the cover because the girl somehow looks like Nina Dobrev, one of my favorite celebrities and part of my top five celebrity girl crushes. (So now you know who I've imagined as the girl in this book.)

Meeting His Match is a first of the Match Me series and it features Addison St. Claire, a young widower working as a matchmaker and a big believer of soul mates. Once you've met yours, there's no one else. But when she's asked to work on Caine McCall and help him find his match, or rather "soul mate", things start turning upside down.

Addison believes that there can only be one soul mate forever. Her character somehow got to me because she's feisty and adorable and broken and miserable at the same time. Losing the love of your life and trying to move on, which is the reason behind her matchmaking business. It's quite overwhelming that such things also do happen in real life, losing someone important to you at a young age.

Now Caine McCall, he's the usual workaholic billionaire. The Mr. 'My-Company-Needs-Me' rich guy who spends almost every single night on his office couch. And according to Addison and his sister in law, he needs a little push out of his miserable zone. With Caine, you'd just drool and dream about him because he's the kind of guy who only wants one girl and that's it. He wants Addison, but she's fighting it because "soul mates". But he's quite the romantic once he falls in love. Which is just the most adorable thing in a guy, without being all macho about it.

The story plot is the usual contemporary romance, guy meets girl, guy wants girl, girl wants guy, girl's having second thoughts, girl wants guy in the end. It's the same thing, everybody falls in love. But with Katee Robert, she makes everything cute and funny. I love how the story's written with right amount of witty conversations to keep it fun yet sexy. This romance is just filled with sexual tension, you'd somehow get annoyed at Addison for even being able to fight it a bit. Like how can you fight all that sexiness?!?! HAH!

Everything is just fun and flirty, and would definitely want to read it again.

WARNING: Cute fluffy mop dog with four tiny mop puppies included.

Plus, if you've read "Seducing The Bridesmaid" from the Wedding Dare series, you might squeal when reading this. Because I definitely did.

This fantastic story in the new Lovestruck imprint line from Entangled Publishing is the story of Caine and Addison. Caine is a workaholic with no time for a relationship. Addison runs a matchmaking company and is sent by Caine's sister-in-law to help him find a partner. The only problem is that the match he wants is the one Addison won't give him - herself.

I loved this book! The characters were wonderfully portrayed. Caine is a commanding handsome man, not giving any thought to trying to fit a woman into his life until the unconventional Addison lands on his doorstep. Still his outer shell hides a tender and caring man underneath, one who is determined to show Addison that he can be the man for her, if she'll only open up to him. Addison is feisty yet sweet, wanting to help people find the loves of their lives even while not admitting to herself that she needs someone too. The sexual tension between them flares at their first meeting and the eventual love scenes are emotionally engaging and steam up the pages. The alternating points of view give excellent insight into the thoughts and emotions of Caine and Addison. The secondary characters introduced add humour, some mild tension and make for a well rounded story. The overall tone of the book is fun and lighthearted, and I found that once I started it, I didn't want to put it down until the very last page and the happy ever after. I can't wait to read more from Katee and this new imprint! 5 heartwarming stars!

mmmm so rather difficult for me to review this one, because Katee Robert is one of my all time fave authors...however this one was just maybe a tad disappointing.

I loved Caine, thought he was great but I just could not like Addison. Her whole "soul mate" thing was way to over the top for me and in the end it just grated my nerves.

Caine is the brother of Brock whom we met in the Wedding Dare series. He is married to Regan who is Addison's best friend. She runs a match making company in New York and Regan hires her to go down to Tennessee and find a perfect match for Caine.

The sparks between these 2 fly but because Addison was previously married to her "soul mate" who died in Afghanistan, she does not believe their is any chance for the 2 of them to have their HEA.

Caine decides to do everything in his power to prove he is her match, and make her his.

Still a very sweet story and the writing is awesome. Looking forward to more in this series....

Meeting His Match by Katee Robert was a read that cannot be missed! Chemistry, charisma, attraction and drama abound in a read where the characters will captivate you and charm you from the start of the book right through to the last page! There isn't a part of this book that could be faulted. It was just a scintillating, beautiful read that pulls at the heartstrings and sucks the reader into its vortex.

Cain and Addison's characters were a perfect mix of confident and passionate, with a definite hint of vulnerability. Engaging, strong, stubborn and completely attracted to each other made for a fireworks show throughout the book. Their interactions were at times hilarious and emotional to assertive and stubborn and the dialogue was written to perfection! Meeting His Match by Katee Robert was a magnificent start to the Match Me series and a sure fire stand out!
5 Stars!

Once again Katee Robert gives us an entertaining, swoonworthy read. I liked sassy Addison when we met her briefly in Seducing the Bridesmaid and I was intrigued by Brock’s older brother. I’m so glad that Katee decided to give us their story. I knew there had to be more to Caine McNeill than the older brother who got their father’s approval. The McNeill patriarch always sounded like such a jerk (actually this word is inadequate, but the right word would get my review banned), but that didn’t quite jive with the idea I had of Caine in my head. In this book we get to see how much of a jerk their father is and how great of a man Caine is. He’s trying so hard to make his father happy that until Addison waltzes into his world he doesn’t realize how much he’s actually giving up.

Addison is a spitfire who lives her life selling the soul mate principle to the clients of her matchmaking service. She wholeheartedly believes, thanks to her grandmother, that everyone only gets one soul mate and she’s in Tennessee to help Caine find his. She goes so far as to even get the man a dog…that comes with four adorable puppies. I absolutely loved how Gollum and the puppies wove their way into Caine’s life despite his reluctance. But they had nothing on Addison. She steamrolled her way right into Caine’s world without realizing exactly what it would mean for her.

I absolutely loved watching these two try to fight what they had. Their chemistry was evident from the start. They both put up a valiant effort, but the pull between them was too much to ignore. I loved watching Caine change over the course of the book. I loved watching Addison realize that maybe she didn’t know everything about love despite her past.

This was a great read. I hated having to put it down and devoured it as quickly as I could. While this is a sort of sequel to Seducing the Bridesmaid (which is part of another series), you do not need to read Seducing to enjoy Meeting His Match.

2.75 stars, 1.5 spice

Extremely neutral on this one - the premise was cute and I liked that it was a quick easy read.
Katee Robert did a good job giving both main characters solid backstories but I struggled with their relationship connection - but I’m not a fan of instalove so that’s probably the issue. (Even though the fmc fights it)
This is much lower spice than her other stuff, I honestly thought she only wrote monster stuff and Disney retellings. Ha! This one is about a CEO and a women who is supposed to be his match maker.
Unfortunately the plot line was also very predictable.

I was not a fan of how dogs were used in this book - the whole idea of him getting a dog for image and not because he actually wants one makes me a bit sick. And then on top of that it ends up being adopted rare breed purebreds but not just the mom, no also the pups, and somehow they keep them all? They were 8 weeks old when they got them, they needed to go to new homes, having pups with each-other too long can cause littermates syndrome.
I know that specific but portraying dogs as accessories is harmful. And skimming over any potty training or obedience training makes it seems like having 5 dogs (for someone who didn’t even want one) is a good idea and feasible.
Please adopt or shop responsibly. Understand the responsibility a dog is and the requirements of that breed (or that mix of you know).

I listened to the audiobook which was done with a single narrator. Honestly, I prefer that to dual narration. I thought Lidia Dornet did a great job with all the voices.

The book itself wasn't anything to write home about. It was a nice quick easy one that I was able to use as background while working. Unlike some other audiobooks, I didn't feel the need to rewind if I accidentally zoned out.

It's very strange that this is the first in a series. It definitely reads as the second--with Caine's brother and Addison's friend together. Makes me wonder if they're featured in another one of her series.

FMC definitely got annoying by the end, with all her hang ups about soulmates. Ending resolution was extremely predictable. I assumed Grandma was dead and was looking forward to Addison figuring things out on her own, so color me disappointed when Grandma turns up to tell her she was wrong about soulmates and Addison can now pursue her love guilt-free.

Definitely shocked that there was an epilogue. You can tell this is one of Katee's older ones lol (2014!).

This is in Audible's free Plus catalog. It's fine for a freebie, but I would never spend money or a credit on this one. I am not surprised at all that the series was abandoned.
