So… who’s going to be the brave soul who tries to explain this garbage to me?
From the very first few pages, I KNEW how this was going to go. I knew this wasn’t going to be good, and we were going to end up on a path that just led to questions and frustration.
Our FMC’s fiancé, Max, goes missing the first few pages of the book. But I initially thought this would be a good thing. I did NOT get super romantic, ‘we’re completely in love’ vibes from their initial interaction. So when he goes missing and she’s upset, I was confusion. Like…. Ohhhhh! We’re supposed to MISS him!
Anyway, most of the book doesn’t really give us anything interesting plot wise, until we get towards the last quarter of the book and we find out: 1.) Her fiancé is back and he’s not dead or missing, he left bc he’s a part of the mafia and he stole. 2.) Her other two harem guys are also part of said mafia, one of them being her fiancé’s brother, and they’ve both been lying to her for years.
And she gets over it. She gets over these lies, this betrayal, almost immediately. Ugh, what a fucking doormat!! She doesn’t fight for anything, and she doesn’t stand up for herself in the way she should. The betrayal that happened does not seem like something any individual I’ve ever met would just move past in the span of a few hours.
Everleigh starts off as a stripper in the opening pages of the book, claiming to use that money to pay for college. But neither her being a stripper or her going to college matter much in this story other than being macguffins to push the plot in a direction when it benefits the author.
Relationship pacing is off. Sex scenes are stilted and feel fake and uncomfortable. This is supposed to be a dark romance, but I didn’t find it dark at all? We get to the end and I’m thinking this is one of the worst things I’ve read lately.😤
I LOVED this book, it was an amazing read for the weekend. From the beginning I was hooked in Everleigh's story, especially pulling on my heart strings with losing Max. With the unexpected twist and turns between her roommate, and the mafia.
I LOVE the cinnamon roll in her harem, he's such a cutie and I love that he really wants to be there for her. The possessive alpha-ness in one of them is expected but DAMN, so much alpha in one man LOL.
If you're looking for a stand alone RH and love mafia books this is perfect for you. The plot is established quickly but there was still enough "meat" on it where it wasn't rushed. 🔥🔥 is in balance with the plot and the build up after one of the scenes, WHEW! This harem is really a perfect mix of safe, protective, and macho, you'll love these guys!
This book is very intricate three way love story that has many facets to it. The main guys Max, Ryan and Viktor are all virile and volatile men that make Everleigh shudder at their voice or touch. Right from the start of the book intrigue and suspect occur and she loses her fiancé in a mysterious way. From that point on Everleigh’s roommate Ryan, provides her with comfort and support while secretly loving her. Shortly after that she becomes involved with her college professor Viktor who’s all the man and mystery she wants. However, for me, it was difficult to keep up with all the aspects of their triangle as well as the Russian mafia involvement and Max’s disappearance. Even during the spicy scenes - it was hard to envision who was where, when and how. Overall, I think I’ll stick to the one on one romances unless it’s a BDSM scene.
Everleigh was engaged to Max. But one night he disappeared. She was depressed and devastated. Three years later she is trying to live her life. Her roommate, Ryan encouraged her to go to therapy. Ryan is her safe haven. Over the next three years she has noticed that a man has been following her and she thinks he looks like Max. One night she was in a bar with her friend Lucy the person who she thought was the man that had been following her bumped into her. She couldn’t wrap her head around it. When she go to her class the same man is her professor. Viktor is a mysterious man and one who will fulfill all of her sexual fantasies and Ryan is along for the ride. This is my first Ava book and I really enjoyed it. Will different read the read in the Savage Protectors series.
Wild and Wicked is a reverse harem, dark, mafia romance, and book one in the Savage Protectors series. After the disappearance of her fiance, Everleigh has tried to move on and before she knew it things were about to take a steamy turn. Although the story started out with heartbreak by the end Everleigh's story heats up and with every twist, and crazy turn I was anxious to find out how it would end. The writing is well done and the characters are well developed. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
This is my first book by this author and I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it. I am a romance novel junky but RH novels are still fairly new to me and rarely my go to book of choice. I havent had much luck finding many that have more storyline than sex. I enjoy the steam, and this story has it, but it also has interesting characters and a well developed storyline. I thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely be checking out more we titles by this author.
I’ll be honest I was lost for about 98% of this book. It was kind of hard to connect the dots, but I couldn’t stop reading it.
What didn’t make sense to me was how could someone up and leave you if they claim to love you so much. I feel like that could have been handled better.
I know this was a short book, but there was no connection between any of the characters. To me there seemed to be so many details missing that could have been helpful in making connections in the plot.
Wild and Wicked is the first book in the Savage Protectors series. This is a RH romance with some darker overtones and some suspense and mystery added into the smexy passion. I read and love author Khloe Summers so I was interested to pick up this book by her alter-ego pen name, Ava Quinn. I enjoyed this book as it is definitely different from Khloe Summers stories but in a good way, at least for me.
I wasn't sure if I was going to like this book at first, because of the first chapters. But I don't like usually just quitting a book either, and then it changed. It got better and there were mysterys. Lots of hot scenes and definitely enjoyed the dirty talk lol. This is definitely a why choose book and I'm here for it
This was a fast paced smooth simply intriguing book. I finished it in less then 5 hours I was enthralled its just so smooth and kept me engaged the entire time. The spice was really really good definitely a steamy read.
I honestly loved this book I honestly want more so much more it was that good and the characters have me stuck on them. This book met all of my needs and I’m very very pleased.
I enjoyed the storyline, but struggled with stupid spelling mistakes. Vial instead of vile multiple times as one example. I can read pure dribble so long as spelling and grammar are correct, so it’s frustrating to find a good story that is difficult to read or follow.
I’m impressed with the whole story line. Everleigh is going through some issues but in this situation she finds herself more emotional connection than anyone ever felt connected with each other and found herself love.
Excitement galore - talk about mystery and secrets this book has it all, and when some of those we secrets are revealed hopefully you're as surprised as I was.
I was looking for a quick, low key smutty read to enjoy between my other main books, and although it wasn’t for me, I had to try.
I’ve just recently gotten into reverse harems, and I honestly don’t say I actively search for them, but when they fall across my lap, I never say “no.”
(If you haven’t read any of the reverse harems by Lily Gold, then you really should. She is the one that got me into this stuff.)
Anyway, this book just wasn’t very realistic for me. I totally get that not all FICTIONAL books should be realistic. I agree with that statement 100%. But I do believe that at least SOME part of the book should be at least a little realistic, and I feel like this wasn’t it.
Take Ryan, for example. He was all lovey-dovey with her, but then he is completely fine - well, not completely fine, but he doesn’t put up that much of a fight- with sharing her with . . . I can’t even remember his name, to be honest. It was a Russian name. . Viktor, maybe?
I don’t know, but the fact that he was willing to share with a guy he barely knows, and works for, nonetheless?! It was just. . . Very far fetched.
And the fact that Viktor was willing to share, the fact that he was the one to initiated it all? Nah, that isn’t for me. I need a little possessives or something!
And Max. . . I didn’t even get to that part. I’m all for quick little reads, but it’s hit or miss. I think that the problem with short reads is that they are TOO short. Like. . . I need more, but it’s hard to give more when the book is meant to be short, you know?
With that being said, I’m not hating on this book. Hell, some of the books I like are questionable, to say the least. I just think I needed something more between the characters to keep me interested.

Three years ago, Everleigh was stripping to help pay her way through college. Her fiancé max used to go with her to work every night worried about her safety. One night a man wearing a distinctive watch drops a wad of $100 bills in her hand $10000 worth. She tries to follow him out to give it him back but Max takes it off her and pursues him on her behalf. She never sees Max again. The man with the the watch has been following her, bordering on obsession. Viktor…he ends up being her university professor which is just too much of a coincidence for Everleigh to accept. For the past three years she has been sharing her flat with Ryan. He’s in love with her but she doesn’t see him that way. She thinks he deserves better that the mess that she is.. She agrees to meet up with her professor/stalker at a bar they met in the night before. Ryan goes with her for moral support and protection if necessary. Viktor makes it clear to Everleigh that he is sexually attracted to her. Everleigh should be appalled, but she’s turned on. When her and Ryan return home there’s a note to Everleigh that is probably about three years old from Max that was found in a storage unit. It told her not to trust anybody. It also described a bank safety deposit box. Ryan looked pale all of a sudden and made his excuses for an early night. Everleigh realises that she’s attracted to both men. They are both so different but love her all the same. Viktor pays Ryan a visit while Everleigh is out visiting Lucy seeing if her best friend can give her any advice. She’s oblivious to what is going on around her and has done exactly what Max told her not to. Trust.… This was a really entertaining RH with a totally different premise. The men have entered her life at different stages under different guises. Everleigh has trusted too easily but she can’t say that she regrets it as her passionate relationship with three very different men progresses. Thoroughly enjoyable.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This book took me on a wild ride. I was not expecting it to go the way it did, but it was good! I felt so bad for Everleigh at first after Max disappearing, and had so many questions. After Viktor appeared in the picture more things started to make sense.. throw in Ryan and what a roller coaster ride. Secrets, notes, who can be trusted? Excited to dive into Lucy’s book next!
