BLUEBONNET DAYS is an engrossing second-chance romance with a Texas tint and two very different longhorns who can’t seem to quit one another. Its easy and enjoyable prose is the perfect on-ramp to a satisfying story told from alternating points of view.

Writing in the voice of Sam DuPont the author acquaints us with a bold young woman who used a hometown heartbreak to springboard her departure to new horizons. I doubt her silverware drawer has any truant spoons fallen in with the forks: Sam has her life together.

Writing in the voice of Weston Lancaster, Ali Marie acquaints us with the author of Sam’s romantic rue.

When she is obliged to return home amid family obligations, Weston is stubborn as a steer to convince Sam that “what could have been” can in truth still be.

I appreciated the nuance of emotion inherent to Weston. The Local Beau who plants 100lbs of C4 under a relationship doesn’t often get a thorough emotional inspection while he keens in rubble of his own making.

It’s not easy to try and take responsibility for your actions while also working to undo the consequences of them. Insightfully written, Weston’s efforts to do just that added formidable depth to the story. He wasn’t especially likable, but had more to him than the typical letter-jacket Lothario.

The perceptive insights that make Weston an interesting character are present throughout other facets of BLUEBONNET DAYS, an outstanding contribution to the genre.

I cannot and will not finish this book.

Second chance romance
Cowboys/lawyers
Alpha male
Secrets and lies
Family drama

Pros:

I find the overall group dynamics interesting. I do want to see more of these surrounding characters.

The author has done a good job of showing a character having issues with PTSD and hide it.

Cons:

I have extreme issues with how characters are behaving. First of all, a best friend would never consider your ex being at a party just a surprise, they would warn you. That Mia didn’t really lowered my opinion of her.

I don’t understand how a person can sleep through someone getting in their tent and spending the night, people filling their room with roses and being carried up stairs and put in bed. Moreover, the main female character is supposed to be smart and strong. Still, she “runs away” when things happen and then just accepts it if it’s something from Weston. I expected him to have to work for things but he doesn’t. He also appears to be putting her into a dominant/submissive relationship without discussion or consent.

It all went downhill from those observations to two hospitalizations, amnesia and the continued push of everyone that the fmc just constantly gave into. It’s frustrating that she is treated like a Barbie doll princess and not a real person and just expected to feel something and get over it instantly.

I had a feeling after reading a few pages this book wouldn't be for me. The writing was very basic and parts were unnecessary I tried to finish this book but I just couldn't. The female character was came off as childish and the male character while seeming possessive just didn't work for me. Really, let me just punch a person because they are talking to my ex....

What a whirlwind story! Second chance with a bit of possessive male tropes told from a dual POV. This is a book that continues the fast paced theme of Weston and Sam’s original romance. This was a really quick and easy read and I almost wish it was a bit more slow-burn (who am I?). Characters are lovable, drama perfectly balanced, dash of spice, and that gorgeous cover makes for the perfect read for a day at the beach or lounging in your backyard.

I don’t usually love romance novels, but this one was an exception. I can honestly say, as of now this must be my favorite romance novel. The characters all felt so real and relatable. I usually hate romance novels because of how unrealistic they can be, but this one is not one of those.

Review:

👉Talking about the title of the book, the title of the book is really so interesting to read.

👉The cover is appealing and attractive as well. The substance of this book will make you go for this book and you can not move past to this anyplace soon. The storytelling is captivating. In a modest community in the edges of Texas, life used to be straight forward for Weston and Sam growing up. However it appeared to be growing up and being confronted with specific difficulties and decisions doesn't necessarily in all cases permit love to prevail. When Weston broke Sams heart, the sum of everything on her mind is moving away. To accomplish something that will bring her happiness
as she pushes to fail to remember the affection and man she once knew. After years, away, she is called home to assist with the family farm. Sam realizes it would be difficult to stay away from Weston, yet she wanted have opportunity and willpower to settle back
home, prior to managing him.Weston never excused himself for breaking Sams heart as he loved constantly her. He is mentally set in stone to ensure she recollects who they are together and to win her back. The main issue or a few is, deterrents appear to Continue to hold him up and a previous that probably
won't have improved him.

Read this if you:
*Enjoy second chance romances
*Like overly possessive men
*Appreciate a fulfilling ending that tugs at your heart strings

Synopsis: Sam and Weston are the cutest high school couple. After Weston breaks Sam’s heart, she heads off on an adventure to travel abroad. When she is called home to help attend to the family ranch, she knows running into Weston won’t be easy or avoidable. Sam’s family is rooting for the two of them to become a couple again. Will Weston’s family secrets prove to be too much for Sam to handle?

Reader’s Thoughts: I am a “choose a book by its cover” type of girl and I really had no idea what I was getting myself into when picking up this book. This gorgeous cover is perfect for the story Ali Marie shares with her readers. At many times I did not like Weston’s overly possessive ways, but he grew on me. His tender kisses and sweet talk won me over. Sam was everything I loved to see in a female protagonist: smart, strong, and independent.
I enjoyed that this novel was told from the perspective of Sam and Weston. It allows the reader to be more in tune with Weston’s feelings. The “forget me nots” sent to Sam from Weston were a perfect touch-one of my favorite parts of the novel. He is truly kind and caring despite his possessive ways. The ending, despite tugging on my heart strings just a little, was wrapped up beautifully leaving you fulfilled. I can’t wait to see what Ali Marie comes out with next.

The book which im gonna recommend you guys today is very engaging and very interesting book The content of this book is gonna make you fall in love with this book.
The characters, the storyline, the drama, the romance - everything about this book had me reading it every chance I got and not wanting it to end.

I enjoyed this book from the first chapter; so much so that I read it in a few hours! A well thought out story line, with lots of twists and turns along the way. What kept me invested in this novel, is Ali Marie's use of romance, action, suspense and thriller elements all wrapped up into one book. The primary characters are "generally" affable and Weston develops on you inevitably. The reason of the story is interesting. Sam and Weston have a run in; Sam leaves town for quite a long time, Weston actually cherishes her and both for all goal and purposes, seem to continue on with their personal business. Sam gets back subsequent to being away for a very long time to deal with privately-owned company. Weston and Sam are compelled to cooperate and furthermore over the long haul address their relationship. I didn't know what's in store with the primary characters when I started perusing the story; nonetheless, I was agreeably happy with how Ali Marie wrapped up this book. I found different parts of this novel engaging to encounters in my own life; which made me need to peruse the remainder of the story significantly more! The closure was wonderful and fulfilled my sad heartfelt heart.

I am one of those who pick books based on the cover and I didn’t really know what to expect when I received this book from Katie and Brey PA! I was pleasantly surprised!

I enjoyed this second chance romance! It was a nice story that is told from two points of view…Samantha and Weston.

Sam was a strong, independent and a successful business woman. Weston was a handsome, aggressive and extremely possessive billionaire. They have known each other for all of their lives as their families have co-owned the family ranch. Wes was Sam’s best friend and confessed his love for Sam upon his graduation. They had a whirlwind romance until he left for college but things happened and he left her broken-hearted. To mend her broken heart she left to travel the world for several years all while becoming quite successful with her career. Her family obligations forced her to come back to the family business - where she knew she would see Wes on a regular basis. Confused and not prepared for what was about to happen.

This book was definitely a page turner but I really did feel like the story went too fast. I would like to have seen this as more of a slow-burn romance. I enjoyed most of the characters. I always enjoy reading a book with a strong female lead but as handsome as Wes is, I just couldn’t get myself to truly like him. Mr. Lancaster - Weston’s father was a poor excuse of a father, I just can’t comprehend how a parent could do what he did! At times, I thought the dialog was cheesy but I loved the bantering between Sam & Wes! This book has such a wonderful ending!!!

Thank you to Katie & Brey PA and Ali Marie for the opportunity for reading/reviewing this book!

I would rate this book at a 3.5 star but I am rounding it up to 4 because I loved the ending!

Bluebonnet Days is a second chance billionaire romance by Ali Marie. This is the first book I have read by this author, and I think she has great potential, however, this one fell short for me.

We meet Sam, who has been called home to help with her family's ranch after running away 5 years ago after her heart was broken. She knows it will be awkward when she sees him again, but she didn't expect his reaction to her and tries to protect her heart from being broken again. Weston has been secretly pining over her for years, and their breakup was because of reasons he has never shared with anyone. This is their messy, tragic, crazy love story and does end with a happily ever after.

Where this book lacked for me was, at times, the storyline read like a telenovela or a cheesy soap opera. The wild places this book takes you is frankly unrealistic, and I found myself rolling my eyes at times. If those are your kind of stories, than you will love this story. I prefer stories like this to have a more believable path to love. Instead of an epilogue, this author gave us several chapters sharing their life together with us, and I will say that I really enjoyed that! I wish that the rest of the book has the tone of those chapters. Also, living in Texas, I am pretty sure there isn't a hill full of bluebonnets anywhere to be found in August which is the heat of the summer. That didn't take away from the book, but sometimes it is the little inconsistencies that stick out to a reader.

⭐️My rating - 4.8/5

This book was well written by Ali Marie, and I had a fantastic time reading it.It is based on contemporary fiction.

The characters, the storyline, the drama, the romance - everything about this book had me reading it every chance I got and not wanting it to end! Can’t wait to read more from this author!

The romance in the book centres on reestablishing family ties and finding your place in the world.

The main characters are "mostly" likable and Weston grows on you after awhile. The premise of the story is relatable. Sam and Weston have a falling out; Sam leaves town for years, Weston still loves her and both for all intent and purposes, appear to move on with their lives.

There is usually a main character in a novel, and in thisinstance it is Sam who wants to do something to make herlife happier and forget about her love after experiencing chaos and loss.

I enjoyed this book from the first chapter; so much so that I read it in a few hours! A well thought out story line, with lots of twists and turns along the way. What kept me invested in this novel, is Ali Marie's use of romance, action, suspense and thriller elements all wrapped up into one book!

While Sam is aware that she can't escape Weston, she had wanted to have some time to settle back at home before dealing with him.

Couldn't put it down. Can't wait to read more from the author.

I’ll be honest, I was very nervous when I took on this book through @KandBReaders. But I have to say it quickly became one of my favorite non-intense smutty books. The way Ali was able to make sure a fast-paced but still action FILLED with detail book is amazing. She hooked me on Weston and Sam within just 5 chapters. I could not stop reading this book, I read it till I was too tired to keep my eyes open. Even when I wasn’t reading (while I waited for melatonin to kick in) I kept telling myself I should just read one more chapter.

I don’t know how Ali Marie did it but she took a seemingly simple title and turned it into the most heartfelt book with so much love and action involved throughout the WHOLE book. There was always a twist, there was always a turn and in the end, Sam and Weston were still madly in love. Drawn together from childhood, almost as if fate placed them together and kept them together. Like their life paths always led them back to one another in one way or another.

This book will forever be a favorite on my book shelf. Sure there are others, but this is ONE book that is pure romance, pure love and sure some action in it. But this book is NOTHING like I have on my shelves. But I will be honest……I cannot wait to see what she comes up with next. Cause you all know damn well I will be buying that one too! ☺️💙

Though romance as a genre is something I am very selective about and read it quite less as I'm in a constant search of good contemporary romance fiction stories which has something different to offer from which we generally watch in usual romantic movies and comes short and crisp.

And after coming across this book The Bluebonnet Days by Author Ali Marie I have being glued and crushing towards the characters and the story from page one. The book unfolds the romantic angle between our protagonists Weston and Sam's life, who seperated their paths around few years ago and both living in chaos and misery since then. Until one day when they both have to encounter each other at a family event, both nervous and Weston in guilt for breaking Sam's heart.
But will their lives started to get detangled as they enter each other's lives creating countless twists and turns every now and then.?
Will they ever be able to live their lives without chaos?

It wasn't that long and sweet read, nothing complex and almost predictable yet captivating and lovely at the same time. I also crush over the chemistry these two share with each other with spicy and steamy romance. I personally loved Weston's character development alot and how the whole storytelling progressed which showed the dedicated and improvisation by the author due to her experience.

I feel like I lived a lifetime while reading Bluebonnet Days by Ali Marie.
This is a sweet second chance romance between Weston and Samantha with some not so sweet moments. Wes broke Sam’s heart when he ghosted her after the best summer of her life. He finally told her he loved her and wanted to be with her. She was so ecstatic but when he went off to college in a different state he slowly drifted away due to unknown circumstances to Sam.
Five years have passed and Sam has been traveling, exploring life. She has been summoned home to finally take her place in the family business. She knows seeing Wes will be hard because their families are in business together. So it’s inevitable that they will cross paths.
Wes has waited long enough for Sam to return home and he’s on a mission to get her back no matter what. He’s a little bit obsessive and possessive which shocks Sam.
Once truths are told Sam finds herself lowering the walls to her heart to let him back in.
A fair amount of suspense, drama, danger and even more amount of the making up for lost time steam will keep you glued to the pages of this book.

You will read the trials and tribulations that this couple will have to go through to get their HEA. This author will take you on a journey of surprising happenings. She will also show you the after HEA. Through years of marriage, children, grandchildren and eventually death she shows us that true love does exist in life and death.

Thank you @katieandbreypa and @alimarie_writelife for the opportunity to read this ARC and receive a SIGNED 🙌🏻😍 copy in exchange for an honest review 🥰

I chose this book because bluebonnets are special to my family (my husband is from Texas and he calls our daughter his little bluebonnet) but also for the synopsis 😍 (swipe to see Goodreads synopsis).

Things I loved: This was an easy, quick read! The story was easy to follow and was a cute second chance romance between Samantha and Weston. Samantha is the sweet girl next door while Weston is the rough, (controlling) manly man that hooks you right at the beginning.

Small notes: I felt like the story was a little fast, I love the slow-burn romances; however, it is a romance story worth reading! Also, the writing was a little choppy for my liking at times, I really enjoy smooth transitions, but each author has their unique writing style which I respect! I would love to read more of @alimarie_writelife 📚

Book Review
Bluebonnet Days
A Novel Written By Ali Marie
Fiction
283 Pages
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This story is told in dual points of view between the two main characters, Samantha DuPont and Weston Lancaster. Sam and Weston grew up together and were a couple in high school. After Weston broke her heart, Sam did a lot of traveling and working abroad. She returns home to the family ranch in Texas to work at the family business. This puts her in close proximity to Weston. Both still have feelings for each other.

I liked Samantha. She was a strong, smart, independent woman. I felt Weston, despite truly loving Sam, was overly possessive in an unhealthy way at times.

The author includes romance, action, suspense, thrills, and spice in her storytelling. The ending does tug at your heartstrings.

Thank you to Katie and Brey PA and the author Ali Marie for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

I really enjoyed this book. This is my 1st book by the author. From reading this book I will definitely check out her other books. This story has small town romance. Second chance and alpha male. If you like all those then this story is for you. Samantha has a crush on her brothers friend Weston. They take a chance on starting something. Then Weston goes and destroys Sam. Life has a way of throwing them back together. Dan is needed home to help with the family ranch. Since Weston’s family also has a stake in the ranch business with Sam’s family, he is there upon her return. Weston will do anything to win Sam back. Sam is very dead set on not taking him back. There is drama on their road back to each other. Will Sam give into Weston? You’ll just have to read the book to find out. This is also a standalone so everything is wrapped up nicely. The ending with definitely hit you right in the feels.

A second chance, small town romance..

Let’s start this review off by saying I loved the way reading this story made me feel - it was an emotional rollercoaster!

Sam and Weston’s relationship from start until the very (very very🥺) end was something every little girl dreams of. It doesn’t even matter that they spent years away from each other - the love was still there.

Twists and turns, big families, laughs and tears, maybe even a little bit of anger - you’ll experience everything reading this!

No matter how much I loved the premise and characters it was very fast paced and at some points I was a little put off by some of the situations taking place - they were rushed and the wording was a little rudimentary.

Thank you @thesmuthood and @alimarie_writelife for adding this beautiful paperback to my shelves!

Have you ever heard the phrase “never judge a book by the cover”? Well this is definitely one of those books. This discreet cover is perfect for this intense romance/action packed story. Sam and Wes dated growing up but he shattered her heart and after 5 years he wants her back. “In the midst of chaos and love, will love always find a way?”
After a few pages I was hooked because I just had to know what happened next. There seemed to always be something huge happening in the story with no lull parts. The spice was on point, and I loved how the story flowed quickly. The ending had me in tears but in a good way. I can not wait to read the next book from Ali Marie.

Special thanks to Alie Marie for providing me with a paperback copy of Bluebonnet Days in return for an honest review.

If you love 2nd chance romance and love small town stories I highly recommend this book! I was not expecting so much happening with this book!
Once Weston hurt Sam’s heart all she wanted to do was get away. She ended up traveling trying to find herself in the process and heal her broken heart.
5 years later she finally comes home to all her family and friends. She found Wes there and didn’t know what to do or how to proceed with him. They definitely had a lot to deal with and figure out together.
He kept fighting for her and they ended up with there forever! I can’t believe the journey they went on throughout the story to get to there endgame! I loved the ending and how they meet again but it was an amazing love story between 2 people undeniably in love!

Overall, I enjoyed this book. I do have to say, it took me a bit to get into. But eventually, I did, and I enjoyed it. I like the characters, and the story. Sam, she left after getting her head broken by her high school love. Staying gone until she is needed to help with the family business. And Weston. He had his reasons for leaving all those years ago. And when she’s home, he is determined to get her back. I will say, there were several times I wanted to slap Weston through this book. He was possessive, and jealous, which was totally uncalled for. But, overall you could tell that he loves Sam and she him.

This story is based on Sam and Weston love story. It is friends to love story but with like a dairy storytelling twist. You see the journey of their life story how they come back together and all the crazy things they go through. It was so well written you feel like your reading about someone's real love life story. The spice was so tasteful and well written. I have not read a book like this before and I have to say I loved it. I totally cried at the end because Sam and Weston become so really to you as you read their story. If you're looking for a mental break from dark romance for a min this book is the one to check out.

I loved the book cover and the cute artwork at the start of each chapter. This second chance love story was a quick read that kept me entertained at work. I felt like the author packed a whole trilogy into one book and definitely kept me on the edge of my seat. I was in tears by the end, so be prepared for that, as I was not. I do wish the second half of the book felt more like the beginning, but that’s just my own personal taste, not a criticism of the author. Overall, there were a lot of characters woven in throughout the story and it felt like a soap opera playing out in my head, with plenty of detail to paint the picture. Little bits of spice, but nothing crazy. A fun read!

I finished this book at 2am and I regret nothing. Samantha and Weston have known
each other forever. When they finally became a couple something beyond any of their control came up. Years later they find themselves face to face. With scars from their pasts they find a way to heal what was once broken within each other.

And when you thought they got their happily ever after, another boulder gets in their way. Bluebonnet Days shows you that love is never easy but it’s always worth it when you find the right person. Is their love for each other enough? Find out in this gripping second chance story.
Happy reading!
